JHeadstart 10.1.2.2  Build 32 Available

All,
Licensed JHeadstart users can now download a new build 32 of release 10.1.2.2 from the Consulting Supplement Option site (cso.oracle.com).
This build fixes 3 errors that occurred in build 31:
- Error creating resource bundle of type javaClass
- JSP: Invalid date accepted with format dd-MM-yyyy
- Table scrolling not possible after querying when page started in findMode (auto query is false)
Generator templates and common files have not changed between build 31 and 32, so if you already installed build 31, you only need to unzip the new zip file over the old one, and copy the new Add In jars to the jdev\lib\ext\jheadstart directory.
If you did not install build 31 yet, you can follow the upgrade instructions documented in the Installation Guide.

  • Are builds available in the safari version of keynote?

I was just checking out the web version of keynote.  I realize it can't be as full-featured as the mac version, but I was surprised that I couldn't find a way to add individual builts.  Transitions are available from slide to slide - but what about building in and out - or moving items on a slide?

File > Export > Images;     then select an image type in the drop down menu

  • New FMLE Mac Build available !

    Hi All,
We have uploaded a new Flash Media Live Encoder build to www.adobe.com/go/fmle for Mac 10.7.3
    This build fixes below issues
Flash Media Live Encoder crashes on exit on Mac OS X version 10.7.x
Video previews are not available on Mac OS X version 10.7.3
    Thanks
    Team FMLE

I installed FLME on self build machine. Core i7 3770K, 16GB RAM, Vertex4 SSD 256GB, GigabyteZ77X UP5 TH MB, Blackmagic Intensity Pro.
With Windows 7 it works fine, 3 streams:
    format: h264 (baseline 3.0 !!!!)
    framerate:  25 fps
    input size 1920x1080
    Bit Rate:
    1. 2500 kbps   1280x720
    2. 850   kbps   852x480
    3. 350   kbps   480x270
    Processor load 60-70%
On the same computer with Mac OS X 10.8.2 I can stream only 1 video output, processor load 90% and lot of droped frames. The same happens on MacBook Pro (Early 2011).
Looks like FLME is not to optimized to work with OS X.

  • T440S Smart Card on custom build available?

    Greetings:
Been lurking here for a few days as I learn more about Lenovo and appreciate what I've learned from all!
My question is about the SmartCard slot...   I'm trying to custom configure a T440S and it looks like as soon as I choose Windows 8 Pro 64 (so I can get the "downgrade" to 7 rights)  It drops the "expansion slot" option for a SmartCard Reader.  Is that different from the SD card reader??  I really need an SD card slot for reading memory cards from cameras, etc.
Thanks in advance for any info!
EDIT:  Answered my own question... The SD card reader is standard on all builds.  I was confusing that with SmartCard Reader, which does get removed as an option on any systems utilizing the microHD slot.

If I don't want to use Javacard but stick with my own
card to talk to my Java applications using OCF, do I
need to write a customized "bridge" to hook up my card
with OCF?I'm not sure I understand what you mean by 'bridge' but it
does sound like you will need to write some library
code for sure - assuming your card vendor has not.
What is a PCSC bridge using JNI that I heard
people talk about?I use it to make my PCSC readers (aka. terminals) usable
    from OCF programs.
Basically, you can have OCF terminal 'drivers' written in Java
and most likely provided by your terminal vendor.
    AND/OR
you can use the PCSC 'bridge' which makes ALL PCSC
terminals (the ones you installed PCSC drivers for) available
to OCF - regardless if your terminal vendor offers OCF-
    specific drivers.
Is that used for connecting cards
with Java applications that can't really be done on
OCF?No, it's basically for when your terminal vendor doesn't
offer a OCF driver for your terminal but they do have a
PCSC driver and you wish to use the terminal with OCF.
Is it at all possible to build Java applications
on OCF to talk to a GSM SIM card without buying api or
dev kit from special vendors?I personally have not worked with SIM cards (yet) but
what you ask for should be possible, yes.
for the record, there is no inherent relationship between
JavaCard and OCF. You can use one independant of the
    other.

  • Adobe Flash Builder availability, usability and application export for students?

    Hello!
I'm a student from Estonia and i'm making my final paper for my graduation.
What chances or possibilities do i have, if i want to acquire Flash Builder, make an application, export it and use it for my final paper (code tutorials in Estonian language) for free?

Well, Adobe did have a program that gave free Flash Builder to students & teachers, but apparently it has been discontinued - sorry!
The 30-day trial versions of Flash Builder and all other CS6 and Creative Cloud tools are still available though, if that helps.
Adobe is also currently offering free copies of Edge Animate 1.0 for everyone (permanent versions for creating interactive & animated web content), which could serve as a nice replacement.

  • Is the DPS App Builder available as a separate download?

I have the Creative Cloud and have installations on both my workstation and laptop. I would like to be able to use the DPS App Builder but seeing as it is not available for Windows (NOT happy about that), I have no other option but to use a Mac for that portion of the workflow. That being the case I do have access to a Mac but I do not want to have to use one of my installations on a machine that I would barely use and that is not under my direct control. I also do not want to have to do this dancing activation stuff.
Is there a way to get the App Builder separate from InDesign so that I can make my files on my own machines and then create the app on the Mac?

Zakhana, you raise a good point about not having to use InDesign on the Mac to submit your app. It makes sense that DPS App Builder works only on a Mac since a Mac is required to create the Apple certificates and submit the app. Apple doesn't allow users to do either of those tasks on a Windows machine. But if you build your folios using a Windows computer, you should be able to use the Mac to sign in to the DPS App Builder directly rather than having to go through InDesign. As you mentioned, you can authorize your Mac, submit your app, and then deauthorize the Mac, but that's extra work.
This Create App workflow for Creative Cloud members also makes updating an app difficult. I'll see if there's a way to improve the Creative Cloud workflow on Windows and let you know what I find out.

  • Adobe Camera Raw 6.1 RC build available on Adobe Labs

    Please check out http://labs.adobe.com/wiki/index.php/Camera_Raw_6.1.
    Release Notes
    Newly supported camera models include:
Canon EOS 550D (Digital Rebel T2i/ EOS Kiss X4 Digital)
    Kodak Z981
    Leaf Aptus-II 8
    Leaf Aptus-II 10R
    Mamiya DM40
    Olympus E-PL1
    Olympus E-600
    Panasonic G2
    Panasonic G10
    Sony A450
Camera Raw 6.1 includes new lens correction functionality that can apply profile-based corrections to accommodate geometric distortions, chromatic aberration and lens vignette effects. Manual corrections for geometric distortion as well as vertical and horizontal perspective transforms are also available. A handful of lens profiles are included for automatic correction and more can be created by the community with the Adobe Lens Profile Creator.
This release addresses a bug on the Mac platform that could cause Photoshop CS5 to quit unexpectedly when opening a file in the Camera Raw 6.0 plug-in.
This release contains performance enhancements designed to improve the responsiveness of the controls and the scrolling mechanism relative to Camera Raw 6.0.
Please provide feedback on your experience with the Camera Raw 6.1 plug-in and the DNG Converter on the Camera Raw User to User forum.

There is some info starting on this page:  http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4728
Note the link to the ReadMe file, which contains some release notes (though very terse):  http://www.adobe.com/special/photoshop/camera_raw/Camera_Raw_6.1_ReadMe.pdf
There is some insight to be gained by becoming familiar with the Adobe Lens Profile Creator:  http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/lensprofile_creator/
But I have to agree with you that the new features are presently somewhat underdocumented.

  • Latest Apache builds available

Gnter Knauf has kindly built Apache 2.2.27 with mod_ssl linked against
OpenSSL 0.9.8y. I am currently hosting Gnter's builds on my ftp server:
    ftp://ftp.2rosenthals.com/ftp/pub/NetWare
You will also find his latest MySQL 5.0.96 there.
From the Apache 2.2.27 readme (note the part about updating any third party
    modules -this includes mod_php5.nlm):
ATTENTION: this archive extracts to \APACHE22 !!
Due upgrading APR to 1.5.x Apache 2.2.27 and later versions require
that all external modules are rebuild with at least the Apache 2.2.27
and APR 1.5.x version. The mod_jk and mod_edir binaries have been updated
for Apache 2.2.15 - if needed please download these from their project sites:
    http://www.apache.org/dist/tomcat/to...aries/netware/
    http://sourceforge.net/projects/mod-edir/files/
This archive contains also a Perl script fixapr.pl in the \APACHE22\BIN
folder which you can use to fix modules build for Apache 2.2.15 / APR 1.4.x
and later for APR 1.5.x. Modules build for Apache 2.2.12 - 2.2.14 can also be
fixed if you slightly modify the Perl script ($opt_s = 'APR13@').
Modules build for Apache 2.2.11 and before can not be fixed!
    Enjoy!

Note that as per the warning on the download page for the NetWare
binaries from the Apache website[1] (or a mirror), NetWare 6.5 includes
Apache 2.0.x and more importantly the mod_jk (Tomcat), mod_php5,
mod_edir, mod_perl, and mod_nsn (NetStorage) modules are not compatible
    with Apache 2.2.x (or 2.4.x).
If you don't rely on or need to use any of the above Apache modules then
you can use Apache 2.2.x to host websites.

  • AdvancedDataGrid : nightly builds available?

I know you can download SDK nightly builds here:
    http://opensource.adobe.com/wiki/display/flexsdk/Download+Flex+3
But those builds don't seem to contain the AdvancedDataGrid
    component.
Is there a place where we could download updated version of
    the sadly closed source AdvancedDataGrid?
    Thank you

There are no nightly builds for data visualization components

No problem. Actually this brings up a good point - does your
    JSQR have a
way to identify what version a function is available from? In
    1.6 there are
7 new functions (listed below), but there is also E4X
    support. I don't think
your JSQR will really deal with that will it? It's more a
    syntactical
thing. Anyway, there are more new things in JS 1.7 - once
    this is final I'll
put a compiled list of those up, for a preview, check out
    http://developer.mozilla.org/en/docs/New_in_JavaScript_1.7
    JavaScript 1.6 - New Functions
There are seven new Array methods that can be separated into
    two categories,
item location methods and iterative methods. The item
    location methods are:
a.. indexOf() - returns the index of the given item's first
    occurrence.
b.. lastIndexOf() - returns the index of the given item's
    last occurrence.
    The iterative methods are:
a.. every() - runs a function on every item in the array and
    returns true
if the function returns true for every item.
b.. filter() - runs a function on every item in the array
    and returns an
array of all items for which the function returns true.
c.. forEach() - runs a function on every item in the array.
d.. map() - runs a function on every item in the array and
    returns the
    results in an array.
e.. some() - runs a function on every item in the array and
    returns true
if the function returns true for any item.

recently, I have been testing the new dm-snapshot branch of archiso, which is a huge commit removing aufs2. It is the new build with smaller size, and leans toward the standard.
    [Arch]
I use archiso-git to create this live CD, the packages are the latest. Like arch, which emphasizes simplicity, I dont customized the distro at all. The packages are only bundled together to work properly.
    [openbox]
I think openbox is really customizable and fast. Using this, march is able to boot in 10sec with initial mem 50mb.
    keybinding
    window+up: volume up
                +down volume down
                +right  mute/unmute
    window +q show menu
    window + e chromium
    window + t urxvt
    [Lnf]
All packages I included are from the 1st GUI app of the LnF 2011. They are carefully selected and compared one by one.
Because it is a LiveCD afterall, I include office suite, image viewer, browser, pdf viewer, text editor, terminal, file manager, and archiver.
I also include xf86-input-synaptics and wicd-gtk for laptop users.

Thanks, for the adaptation. Doesn't work though.
It is a configuration issue; I can't open or get the xorg0.log because of the frozen screen.
Same error  message: .Xauthority doesn't exist.
Tried the first iso on an older pc and there it works ok.
Is there a root password defined and what is it? No root action possible in pcmanfm because of lack of gksu.
No rc.xml file in .config/openbox; a basic one with defined keyboard shortcuts of installed apps would be nice.
Look at the Archbang liveCD  for inspiration.

  • CS Extension Builder availability

    Hello,
I'd like you to confirm that a single freelance developer, in order to get the Extension Builder plug-in (for, afaik, it's a Flash Builder plugin, isn't it?) must buy at least an Adobe Enterprise Developer Program ($ 1.495), since the Adobe Solutions Partner Program (a cheaper $ 495 one) is for much more structured companies.
This in addition to Flash Builder 4, ça va sans dire.
    Thanks in advance,
    Davide Barranca

    Hi Davide,
While the Adobe Solutions Partner Program has particular qualification criteria, it would be worth your while discussing your opportunities and plans with Roger Risdal ([email protected]). Roger is a Partner Product Manager here at Adobe, he is a great contact in terms of making and maintaining the connection between partners and Adobe. He would be able to provide more context and advice around eligibility for the Solution Partner Program.
I'd like to be clear that Flash Builder (Premium) is a benefit of both programs.
Our intent here is to surface developer requirements directly within Adobe - we believe the program memberships currently provide the best vehicle for this.
Thanks for this feedback, we are continually looking to make improvements to strengthen the connection between Adobe and third party developers. If you have any particular concerns/requirements/thoughts, we'd be very keen to hear them. Either respond here, or if you prefer you can contact me directly at [email protected]
    Thanks
    Adrian

Hi everyone from the Build 2015 conference happening right now in San Francisco! If you haven’t already, check out Terry’s blog post about all the Windows 10 announcements we made today. If you’re at Build this week or at Ignite in Chicago next week – keep your eye out for me and say hello!
Today we have a new build available to both the Fast and Slow ring for Windows Insiders (that means we’ll have ISOs available too for those of you who like a clean install.) With this build we continue to evolve the features and design for Windows 10, and you’ll see a lot of subtle changes and improvements, many of which were influenced directly by Windows Insiders. One of those changes is the reintroduction of some Aero Glass elements in the UI, but there are many more things throughout the product as well. We continue to use your feedback directly day to day in how our feature teams operate, and we hope that Windows 10 will be the best version of Windows yet because you had a direct hand in its creation.
One other subtle change that you’ll notice is that we’ve changed how we talk about the builds from “Technical Preview” to “Insider Preview” to reflect the importance of the Windows Insider community in how we’re building Windows 10.
And speaking of Windows Insiders, we were super excited to host the 10 winners of our Windows Insiders to Campus contest in Redmond last week and hear their thoughts on the program and the product. We’ll share more on that soon.
Here is what’s newSome of the things that Joe demoed on stage earlier today during the Build keynote are not yet included in this build and will be in future builds. But we still have a bunch of new stuff for you to check out!
General UX improvements: We made a bunch of UX improvements with the last build and you’ll see even more in this build. For example, you’ll notice a new Live Tile animation for Start in addition to in addition to some performance and stability improvements for Live Tiles.
We’ve done work to better support high DPI displays. And we know many Windows Insiders are running multi-mon setups – often with 2 monitors with different DPI. You will start to see some work we’re doing to make sure core UX components in Windows scale correctly on both your monitors so things look nice regardless of DPI.
We’ve also heard loud in clear that many Windows Insiders want to see Aero Glass from Windows 7 make a comeback. We’ve been working out how to satisfy this request, and are trying some things out with this build to see how you like them. We’re running a little A/B test with this build. 50% of you will normal transparency on the Start menu and taskbar while the other 50% will see a blur effect on the Start menu and taskbar (like frosted glass). If Windows Insiders really like the blur effect, we will add it to more areas and even consider making it the default instead of standard transparency. Which one did you get? Send us feedback about it via the Windows Feedback app!
Even more improvements to Continuum: We’re continuing to make Continuum better and invest in a simplified taskbar. Additionally when you close an application in Tablet mode, we take you back to the Start screen instead of the desktop as you would expect when using a tablet. You will see general polish on snapping, and the shared divider between two snapped windows now let’s you adjust the size.
Multi-tasking improvements: We’re continuing to refine and complete our mulit-tasking experience with Windows 10. Check out Alt-Tab, Task-View, and Snap Assist. Snap Assist also now supports the ability to close a window during Snap Assist.
New default Windows sounds: We’ve heard a lot of feedback from people that they want some fresh system sounds for Windows 10. Check them out and let us know what you think.
Visual refresh for Cortana: You will see a visual refresh for Cortana in this build that makes the experience feel more ingrained into the overall Windows experience. Start and Cortana are now more tightly integrated. As you start to search for an app from within Start, Cortana can seamlessly take over and bring back the right result. The new Windows split view control has been added to Cortana’s left rail, offering quick access to key Cortana functionality like the Notebook, Reminders or Feedback on how Cortana’s doing. This split view control helps anchor Cortana to the rest of the Windows UI and provides navigation consistent with many other Windows first party applications.
New experiences in Cortana: We are making available some new and updated experiences in Cortana powered by Bing Instant Answers. Cortana will aim to answer your question while you’re still typing. Here are a few questions you can try:
    Weather – “Seattle Weather”
    Finance – “MSFT stock”
    Dictionary – “define astounding”
    Calculator – “48*92”
    Flight Status – “UA 238”
Reference – “how tall is brad pitt”
    Showtimes – “movies near me”
Tech Help – “memory in my computer”
Time Zone – “time in London”
Unit Conversion – “42 ft in meters”
Chit Chat – “tell me a joke”
Updates for the Music and Video Preview apps: We’ve also shipped updates to these apps. The Music Preview app (3.6.999.0) has some UX improvements including a more immersive Now Playing experience with a true full screen mode. With the Video Preview app (3.6.999.0) – you can download movies, TV shows, and TV seasons and check progress, pause, resume, cancel the download. You can also download, delete, and even re-download videos as many times as you want on up to three devices (we’re planning to increase the number of devices you can download content too!). Closed captioning for purchased content now appears. You will see a list of new features when you first launch these app after each update!
Xbox app April 2015 update: The Xbox app for Windows 10 has been updated (your version number should be 4.4.9014.0 or higher) with new features like Game DVR for PC games, screenshots, a Live Tile, user profiles, and real-name sharing. Oh and the drivers for Xbox controllers are now included with Windows 10, so you no longer have to download and install controller drivers on Windows 10. For more on this month’s Xbox app for Windows 10 update as well as the new Avatars app – read this blog post.
Windows Store Beta improvements: We’re excited about delivering a single unified Store experience in Windows 10 which we’re talking more about this week at Build. We’ve made some improvements to the Store Beta which is now a blue tile instead of grey. Xbox Live games should be working and so are in-app purchases. Apps you purchased on a PC running Windows 8.1 will now show up in the Store Beta on Windows 10 as owned (and vice-versa). We’re also expanding the Store Beta from 41 markets with the addition of these new markets: Afghanistan, Åland Islands, Albania, Algeria, American Samoa, Andorra, Angola, Anguilla, Antarctica, Antigua and Barbuda, Armenia, Aruba, Azerbaijan, The Bahamas, Bangladesh, Barbados, Belize, Benin, Bermuda, Bahrain, Bhutan, Bolivia, Bonaire, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Botswana, Bouvet Island, Cyprus, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Georgia, Ghana, Guatemala, Iceland, Iraq, Kazakhstan, Malta, Pakistan, Qatar, Sri Lanka, Jordan, Lebanon, Nicaragua, Oman, Panama, Puerto Rico, Paraguay, Trinidad and Tobago, Uganda, Venezuela.
Discovering features and apps in Windows 10: We are investing in easy “bite-sized” learning and discovery experiences so that users can get more out of Windows 10. This ranges from tips and tricks on the Lock screen, to helping users discover high quality apps through Start, the Lock screen and Cortana. Be confident that you won’t miss out on new features and enjoy the ease of having high quality apps curated for you. It’s optional, and if anything doesn’t strike your fancy, you can provide feedback directly, such as whether you like an image or an app. These new experiences will be rolling out over time, so you may not see them in your market yet.
Here are some things we fixed
You can now launch Win32 (desktop) apps from the Start menu again. Sorry about this bug!
You should be able to download music in the Xbox Music and Music Preview apps.
When you minimize an app playing audio, it should continue playing in the background.
    Here are some known issues
Developers cannot enable Developer Mode in the Settings app for installing and testing apps on this build. We’ll enable this in an upcoming build. In the meantime, you will need enable your device for development using the Group Policy Editor.
There is an issue in this build preventing some games from playing in full screen mode. We’re working to get a fix out via WU as soon as possible.
The People app continues to crash. We’re planning to release an update for the People app through the Store Beta that fixes this.
We hope you’ll agree that 10074 has some nice improvements and is another step forward towards delivering a great Windows 10 release. Please put it through the paces and keep sending us feedback on the things that you like and the things you want us to keep working on using the Windows Feedback app. I hope that you’ll also download the development tools released at Build and will build some terrific Universal Windows apps as well!
    Thanks,
