How can I deploy JHeadStart to E-Business 11i?
My oracle application is v11.5.9, AS is v1.0.2.
V1.0.2 is not in Support Matrix.

Yes, You can now deploy JHeadstart apps to the same app server used by your Oravle Application install.
But deploying to the same app server, or integrating are two very different things. JHeadstart uses the ADF data binding, which is not yet used by Ebusiness Suite. In theory, the two can be integrated but this would require in depth knowledge of JHeadstart, ADF as well as the OAFramework and AOL.

Server A:
i have one UAT server which is installed with e-business suites 11i. The users logon to discoverer from e-business suites using the username and password stored in e-business suites.
Server B:
then, i now hv to set up a 10G application server and 10G discoverer on a new server. The user request that they want to login to discoverer using the username and password as mentioned above. They reject to logon to database using 'connect directly', 'open connection' or 'private connection'.
what can i do in order to synchronize the username from Server A to Server B so that they can logon using the username and password they created in e-business suites.

follow note 313418.1 it will let you use your oracle apps 11i with discoverer 10g, with the same user name and password, i did it before you may want to check my post after you check oracle note

Compatibility with Oracle RAC 10g and E-business 11i ?

I am currently helping the sales guys with a tender. The customer requires the solution to be compatible for delivering Oracle RAC 10g and e-business 11i. we are proposing a combination of Cat6509E for the core with Infiniband server switches. Are these devices OK for use with Oracle. I have not much experience with Data centers and so any help is much appreciated.

It just so happens Cisco have a paper on exactly this subject (Oracle and e-business 11i) here:

The design is somewhat OTT as it includes everything which Cisco thinks may be even vaguely useful, including ACE and FWSM modules. However, it's very useful as a comparison document and does include some good design tips, and the references at the end are also worth following up.
I wouldn't want to get into the whole Infiniband vs Fiber Channel argument (the doc uses MDS switches) but both work just fine in the DC environment.

Guys, I applied ATG.PF.H.RUP4. In postinstall steps it is mentioned,Upgrading Oracle XML Parser for Java v9.0.4 with Oracle Applications 11i(doc-271148.1)
which says after applying patch 4038964 do the following--
AUTOCONFIG ENABLED APPLICATIONS ENVIRONMENT
If the Oracle E-Business Suite configuration files are maintained using the AutoConfig infrastructure, proceed with the following:
1. Run the AutoConfig utility.
2. Go to [JAVA_TOP].
3. Run the unzip -l appsborg2.zip | grep 9.0.4 command. If there is a file named as .xdkjava_version_9.0.4.0.0_production, which indicates that XML Parser for Java v9.0.4 is installed correctly as part of appsborg2.zip. Otherwise, run ADAdmin to regenerate the appsborg2.zip file.
4. Restart the application tier server processes such that the new version of Oracle XML Parser for Java will take effect.
but actually the patch is already applied- 4038964. How do i verify if i need to do these steps or not.
The xmlparserv2-904.zip file is already there in wrapper.classpath. of jserv.properties, forms.properties. So i think i dont need to do these steps.

do i still need to do that step?No, you do not have to since "XML Parser for Java v9.0.4" is already installed as part of appsborg2.zip

There are many PL/SQL, interface tables, web services APIs in eBusiness Suite that you can access through a SOA database adapter to upload data from BPM, through to SOA and then onto EBS. Go to the docs.oracle.com site, look for ebusiness suite and then the APIs for the product family in eBS. They are wide and varied and very useful, ranging from the TCA PL/SQL apis to apis for Receivables, payables etc. Alternatively, you can use the Oracle Applications Adapter for SOA, though a license must be paid for it's use.

Citrix Metaframe1.8 implementation with Oracle Apps 11i.

We are considering implementing Citrix Metaframe 1.8 with our existing 11i implementation. As Oracle does not support Citrix as a platform to run Jinitiator, could anyone share their experience with a similar implementation, and maybe advice me on key issues/show stoppers faced.

This is an expected error -- Please see (Error When Trying To Start Discoverer (Addisctl.Sh) [ID 854976.1]) for details.
So, you either need to upgrade Discoverer to 10g/11g as per these docs.
Using Discoverer 10.1.2 with Oracle E-Business Suite 11i [ID 313418.1]

Or, exclude the discoverer script from the startup scripts if you do not use discoverer as per (After Cloning Discoverer Is Not Staring Automatically By Addisctl.Sh. [ID 371920.1]).

Jabber call to voice mail fails with fast busy over VPN

I have an issue that I ran into with CIPC phones over a VPN. If a CIPC phone called over a VPN and started ringing a phone the call would fail with fast busy at the time the call would be forwarded to voicemail. I found the issue was when remote the CIPC phone would negotiate the g.729 codec, when forwarded to a voicemail pilot over a SIP trunk set to g.711 the call would fail due to codec missmatch when no transcoders are present.
So now I am running into what I believe to be the same issue with Jabber, when on premise the calls to voice mail work just fine, but when remote they fail. I can directly call the voicemail pilot without error, but if calling a phone the call gets fast busy at the point we are forwarded to voicemail. Even though all my regions are set to talk to all other regions on G.711 and the voicemail SIP trunk is set to G.711, I believe with the new features in CUCM9 that a lower speed codec has been negotiated since the we are going over the VPN, or Jabber has done this as it knows it's over VPN (not sure). WIth CIPC I could go into the settings and turn off the Optimize for Bandwidth check box and the call would negotiate G.711. With Jabber I can't find anything that would tell my Jabber client to stay on G.711 and I can only imagine this is a codec missmatch as the following are true.
1. CIPC and Jabber share the same line
2. VPN established and CIPC optimised for low bandwidth un-checked
3. Over the same VPN the CIPC phone can leave a voicemail
4. Over the same VPN the Jabber client gets fast busy once forwarded to voicemail
5. Voicemail environment is Exchange-UM over SIP trunk
6. SIP trunk is assigned a Device Pool, that is assigned to a region that all other regions communicate G.711 to
7. On CIPC if optimised for low bandwidth is checked I get the exact same issue as I get with the Jabber client (fast busy when forwarded to voicemail)
Would anyone know what I can do in CUCM 9 to fix this issue, as said no issue when all devices are on premise. Wondering if there is a service parameter or a way to change the codec selection so the Jabber client attempts to always negotiate G.711. The correct answer would be to get some PVDM DSP resources and kick up a transcoder in my resource group, and that may be what I talk them into doing if I have no other options.

We have been getting the exact same thing for almost a year now... since switching to FiOS Digital Voice in May of last year! Every time I call in to report it they 'escalate' the issue but it never gets resolved. The problem seems to be in the initial connection. Most of the time it works fine but, several times a month, after I call to get messages and it starts to play the new message it goes dead and I get the busy signal. I get the same message when I call back: “I’m sorry – that account is in use at this time. Please try again later!” I have even called in with my cell phone and get the same message! I HAVE EVEN used the Internet to see if I could get my messages and, when I hit Play, I get a pop-up saying: “Your Voice Mail box is currently in being accessed; please try again later. If the problem continues, please contact our Customer Support Center at 1-888-553-1555. We apologize for any inconvenience.” This is obviously a software bug that Verizon has no clue on how to troubleshoot OR fix!!! I wonder how many people have the problem and just don’t bother reporting it because of the hassle? When it first started happening they destroyed my entire mailbox and I had to re-enter the complete mailbox setup again – 3 times!!! NEVER let them talk you into that!!! It’s their problem and they need to fix it!!!!!!! I wish I could go back to the ‘normal’ voicemail we originally had… they want hundred$ to switch back because I’d be breaking my #$@%^&* contract! Issues with connection busy functionality

Here are a few things I've noticed with the busy connection functionality:
If I want to right click in a SQL worksheet window while a tab has a query running (current or different tab) I get the "connection busy" error. Don't know why this is b/c right clicking should not be contacting the DB so it's not like I'm trying to run another process or something.
I had one tab with a basic select statement and another that was running another script that was taking a while to execute. The tab running had a bunch of insert statements running but not in a pl/sql block. The script had 15,729 inserts. When I tried running a statement on the other tab, I recieved the "connection busy" error, and I clicked abort. Instead of not trying to connect, I kept recieving the "connection busy" error over and over. The second tab came back with results finally. When my other tab with the insert statements was done, I checked the number of rows in my table - 15,717! So it looks like when I was clicking abort the other script was skipping statements or something! Good thing I double checked b/c this nasty little bug would have caused me some grief in the future.

The connection-busy-abort-retry dialog is popped us when a JDBC operation is being performed on the connection and another such operation is requested.
SqlDeveloper uses single connection/session everywhere, so in your case, in the second worksheet, the same connection was being used which was busy through the operation in first worksheet.
Right click on the worksheet, does some JDBC operation, hence you got the dialog in second worksheet.
One workaround is to use unshared sql worksheet (ctrl-shif-n in a woeksheet).
A better solution for above issues is being worked on by the development team that should give you better concurrency and responsiveness.
This would be available in next major release of Sql Developer.

That sounds like a settings issue to me. Check with your IT depatment to make sure you have it configured properly.

If the site has been optimised for IE (which is non-standards compliant), the best you can try is to spoof IE from Safari.
I'm using an earlier version of Safari than you, so I hope Allan or someone will correct me if the procedure is different.
First, go to Safari Preferences and enable the developer menu;
Then go to the menu and select User Agent - choose a flavour of IE.
Works about 50% of the time.
It won't work if the site is using Activex controls.

Payment clearing on amount with mismatching business areas

Hi, gurus:
We recently activated AR module under 4.6c.
We use automatic clearing which calls FB1D, based on amount match between the cash receipt and the invoice.
The invoice comes with an business area, but the cash receipt record (RM doc type) has a blank business area.
The payment will clear, but SAP actually creates a new WO record to clear the invoice. The WO record contains the business area from the invoice.
The RM cash receipt record has no business area after the payment clearance. This creates a problem for us during reporting for the business area, and the new WO record also screws up the real WO amount in our Write-Off reports.
Is there a user exit in FB1D(SAPMF05A) that would allow us to add the business area to the RM record during payment clearance, and avoid the creation of the WO record ?
