Jinitiator certification for Windows 7

Oracle has certified JPI method of using forms on Windows 7. Jinitiator is not yet certified. Any one having knowledge of Oracle having any plan to certify it?
Also the jinitiator method works finr unless there is no proxy present. Once the procy is available, it starts throwing errors. Already added proxy details in Jinitiator panel in control panel. Any resolutions?
Thanks
SK

SK,
As I mentioned in my previous post, JInitiator is old, obsolete, and no longer entitled to Error Correction support. Therefore, NO new certifications will be done with Jinitiator. Oracle Support will offer limited technical assistance during this transition period to the Sun JRE, but this will only apply when JInitiator is used properly and on certified and supported configurations. For example, using Jinit on Win7 is not a certified or supported configuration and therefore is not entitled to technical assistance.
Regardless, of its desupport status, I would not recommend using Jinitiator any longer anyway. As I mentioned, it is based on old and now obsolete Sun JDK versions. This means that it has not had any bug fixes or changes in functionality in a very long time. To the best of our knowledge, in most cases, Jinitiator will not install correctly on Windows versions newer than XP (e.g. Vista, Win7, Win2008) and therefore should not be attempted. Any attempt to do so would essentially be a hack and could result in unpredictable behavior.
It's time to upgrade. Get to Forms 10.1.2.3 or newer and you can use Sun 1.6.0_18. This new JRE version has many bug fixes over previous versions. It also includes many new features and new security features and fixes.
One last important comment.... Forms 11.x and newer were never certified with Oracle Jinitiator and likely never will be (for the same reasons stated above). If you plan to move to v11 (or newer), you will need to move away from Jinitiator.

  • Certification for Windows 2008 R2 x64

    Hi,
My customer wants to know if OEM 11g Grid Control R1 is supported to be installed (Repository, OMS and Agents) on Windows 2008 R2 x64. Repository will be on DB 11gR2 to monitor OFMW 11gR1 components (11.1.1.3) which are running with Sun JDK 1.6 64-bits).
Certification Matrix (Doc ID 412431.1) in My Oracle Support seems to be not updated as it does not shows OMS 11g, only OMS 10gR3 and R2 are available.
Is there a date for this support/availability?
    Thanks,
    Fernando.

OMS 11G is not available for Windows 64 bit. However you can use 64 bit windows for repository databases.

  • BO certification for Windows 7, IE 8, latest Firefox

    Hi All,
Our current version is BO XI SP2 with FP2.6. Would you please advise if this version supports Windows 7, IE8 and FireFox 3.6? If not, please let us know which BO version supports Windows 7, IE8 and Firefox 3.6, and what the BO XI SP2 with FP2.6 version supports up to.
    Thanks.

    Hi
I would recommend to take a look at the Supported Platforms documentation found here: http://service.sap.com/bosap-support.
As far as I know support for WIndows 7 is planned for BO XI 3.1 SP3.
IE 8 is supported (in compatibility mode) since BO XI 3.1 SP2.

  • Compatible Jinitiator for Windows Vista

    HI,
I bought a new laptop with Vista OS,and i am not able to run Oracle applications on it.When i try to open applications using remote login/password , internet explorer/Mozilla/real player shutting down automatically though it download jinitiator. Is there any Jinitiator Compatible for windows vista?

    Three answers
    1. This is a database forum and not an apps forum.
    2. You can check the certification matrix on metalink or Steven Chan's blog http://blogs.oracle.com/schan would be a good bookmark to make - http://blogs.oracle.com/schan/2007/03/19#a1301 is directly relevant
    3. You are unlikely ever to get Jinitiator to work on Vista, but you likely will be able to get an appropriate sun JRE to work. This requires work from your apps dba - I know I am one.

  • Windows App Certification Toolkit fails on Certification requirements for Windows desktop apps Point 5.5

Using the latest Version 3.4 of Windows App Certification Toolkit to check Windows 8.1 compatibility our Installer was not approved on:
Certification requirements for Windows desktop apps
5.5 Your app installer must create the correct registry entries to allow successful detection and uninstalls
But all necessary settings are done and after the installation of our application we will find all settings in the registry.
We use an MSI Installer embedded in a bootstrapper exe. The MSI Installer is made with the WiX Toolset V3.6.
The same Application Installer got approved on November, 2014.
We checked this issue against the latest version of MSThreatModelingToolkit installer which also was made with WiX toolset and it fails, too.
So is there a higher restriction or do we miss anything?

    Hi Wibudev,
I would suggest you to double check if you have miss something in registry, per documentation mentioned, the installation module must create the following registry entries during installation:
    DisplayName
    InstallLocation
    Publisher
    UninstallString
    VersionMajor or MajorVersion
    VersionMinor or MinorVersion
WACK 3.4 is the latest version, I don't think there would be any higher restriction but I will recommend you to test with another computer to see if the validate fails again. Sometimes the issue could be on the PC environment.

  • Is there a JInitiator version for Win2000?

    Platform: Win2000
I having a problem lauching the very first applet. The applet window launches but stays blank. If the applet window is resized ever so slightly, then the window refreshes correctly. Any subsequent applet window after that works fine.
I was told that a JInitiator version for Win2000 is in the works and this version will eliminate the applet refresh problem.

JInitiator 1.1.7.30 & 1.1.7.32 has been tested and is supported running on Windows 2000 BUT ONLY when running inside of Microsoft Internet Explorer.
Certification with Netscape and Windows 2000 will be provided in a future version.

  • Directory Caching issue with Cisco Jabber client for Windows

    Hi ,
I am facing cache issue with Cisco Jabber client for Windows. If I do any change related to modification or deletion of contacts in Active Directory/ Callmanager, it does not reflect in the Jabber. Because jabber takes the contacts from the locally stored cache file in the Windows system.
Every time I have to remove the cache file to overcome this issue, practically it's not possible to do the same with all the Widows users. As, if any employee leaves the company and still I can see his contact appears in the "Cisco Jabber client". I have not seen this issue with Android/Apple iOS.
Is there any automated way to remove the cache file?
Here is the detail of CUCM,Presence and Jabber.
    CUCM version: 9.1.x
    Presence          : 9.1.X
    Jabber              : 10.5 and 10.6

    Hello
On our environment we had to install a dedicated Microsoft Certificate Authority "just for Cisco Jabber usage" to house the
    Network Device Enrollment Service.
Our certificate for the CUPS were generated on this Certification Authority too.
I discussed this certificate matter with my colleagues this afternoon and nobody seems to remember how these certificates were deployed into the
Enterprise Trust store for the users.
But I think they asked all 400 users to accept the 3 certificates by answering "yes" to the popup instead of using a script deployed by GPO...
I wish you success with that deployment and really hope you have a technical partner that *Knows* this subject.
Our partner left us alone with that unfortunately.
    Florent
EDIT: If the "Certutil script method" works, please let me know. This could be useful in our own deployment.

  • Do I need to re-build my window 8.1 driver for Windows 10 (WDK10)?

    Hi, all
I am testing my hardware driver in HLK for windows 10 certification.
I test the version for windows 8.1, it manually works OK in windows 10 (Build:10041).
My question is : Do I need to re-build it use VS2015 CTP + WDK10? Or just install the 8.1 version then run HLK tests?
Is there any feature of HLK needs to re-build driver using wdk10?
(We didn't change any function or feature on this driver.)
Thanks for the patientce for answering my question.

The driver should work fine, Microsoft does a lot of work to ensure driver compatibility across revisions.  The only time I have encountered a need to build with a differing version is when the HLK (or actually its predecessors) required a specific
tool for a submission.  Even then the older signed driver is acceptable until you need to modify it.

  • 9iAS release 2 for Windows?

I see from the certification matrix that there is a 9iAS release 2 for Windows (NT/2000/XP/whatever flavour, presumably). However, when I look at the download/documentation areas, I can't find any reference to it. There's release 1 for everything in sight and release 2 for all flavours of Unix, but no Release 2 for Windows.
If it's not available, and not likely to be available for a while, can someone please tell me? It will save me looking any further. I am about to go out and buy a server, and need to choose the OS for it (and specify the hardware, so I need installation guide and release notes). If I can get 9iAS release 2 for Windows, I might get Win2K, but if I can't then I'll have Linux on there.

The release date has slipped. We've found some issues which must be fixed before we can release on Windows. Hopefully we will have it soon.
I understand that there is a high level of anticipation. I appreciate everyone's patience.

However, one zip file is for the Oracle installer and the other zip file is for
    9.2.0.3 patch.
There is NO 9.2.0.1 base software for window 2000 server.
Where can I download the 9.2.0.1 base software for window 2000 server (32 bit)?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
    From metalink :
    Microsoft Windows 2003 (x86) Version 2003
Oracle Database - Enterprise Edition Version 9.2
    Status: Certified
Certification Note: Patch Set 9.2.0.3.0 or higher is required.
That's why when you download 9iR2 for W2003 32-bits, you download the 9.2.0.3.
