Jinitiator for linux ready???

Hello everybody.
Does Jinitiator bundled with 6i R2 for linux
works for linux clients with netscape???
or this is "just windows" client software???.
I mean i want to have linux clients with netscape 4.5/4.7/6.0 or any other browser you ask me instead of windows and iexplorer.
Thanks
Oxiel.

You try java plugin 1.1.2 from www.blackdown.org.
It work, but it isn't supported from oracle.

Where can I download Jinitiator for Linux ?

We have a doucment called the client platforms statement of direction which is kept updated with the work we are doing
on client side VM. Go to otn.oracle.com/products/forms and click on the client platform link.
Please note this informaton is for the gerenal Forms release. Apps have their own certification and so you need to check
    Apps specific certifcation with them

  • Looking for JInitiator for Linux

Does anyone have access to the JInitiator for Linux. Even if it is beta?

Jinitiator is not needed when you use old versions of browsers on Windows. There is information that IE 5.5 is reliable enough to be used without Jinitiator.
Instead browsers you can use appletviewer in JDK.
Avoid the usage of Linux on front-end (end-user) machines.

  • Jinitiator for Linux or Appletviewer

I have searched for this without any luck, so I'll post it here.
We are currently running Oracle Apps 11.0.3 on a Solaris server. I would like to be able to easily run the apps from my linux workstation. I have been able to get into them with the appletviewer, but it gives the yellow band stating it isn't happy about something. I am using the standard jdk 1.2 download for linux.
Is there a jinitiator for linux being developed? Or are there instructions on how to setup jdk to work with the Oracle Apps?

  • LabView for Linux - Ready?

I am setting up a research lab and would like to use linux for all my
computing needs. I was wondering how peoples experiences with LabView on
Linux have been? I would be using it to control instruments via GPIB
and to take data using DAQs. Is it stable and reliable, or is it too
early in its development to make the switch from LabView on windows? How
is NI's LabView support? Thanks for the help.

    Geoffrey,
The LabVIEW for Linux FAQ page has many of the answers you are looking for.
LabVIEW for Linux is very equivalent to the Windows versions with the exception of ActiveX and NI-DAQ. Data Acquisition is supported on Linux through the Comedi. This is a third party, open souce driver that supports many of National Instruments' DAQ boards. Also, the only toolset available for Linux at this time is the Internet Toolkit. For more information go here.
Support is done at the same level as for Windows and can be done through all of the same ways.

  • Jinitiator for Netscape on Linux?

    Hi,
We have some people who run linux clients and therefore do not want to have to revert
to windows when they want to user the Oracle forms application.
Is there a version of Jinitiator for Linux using netscape and if there is does anyone have any examples of html used to handle multiple jinitiator plugins dependant in OS.
I would have thought Oracle of all people would be leading the way to get rid of the broken windoze ;-)
    Cheers

  • Jinitiator plugin for Linux client

Is there any Jinitiator plugin available for Linux client??
    Thanks,
    Pranjal

This is my post in the "Install and upgrade" forum.
    I hope it will help.
Any help with the r12 will be welcome.
    Hi all,
I'm able to see the forms directly in my linux box in 11.5.10.2 but not in R12.
    Can anybody help?
The following are the steps to see the forms in 11.5.10.2:
    a) Change the $COMMON_TOP/html/bin/appsweb_VIS_localhost.cfg in the following lines:
    jinit_mime_type=application/x-java-applet;version=1.4.2
    plugin=jdk
    sun_plugin_mimetype=application/x-java-applet;version=1.4.2
    sun_plugin_version=1.4.2
    b) With root (we needed a jdk 1.4.2)
    ln -s /usr/java/j2re1.4.2_09/plugin/i386/ns610-gcc32/libjavaplugin-oji.so /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins/libjavaplugin_oji.so
Where is the equivalent of the file $COMMON_TOP/html/bin/appsweb_VIS_localhost.cfg?
I've found (with the find command) 2 files with the name appsweb.cfg, but none with the appsweb_VIS_localhost.cfg name.
    Thanks

  • Jinitiator for Red Hat Linux Enterprise Edition 3

    Hello Technocrats,
I need your reply for our very critical situation asap.
We have Red Hat Linux EE 3 hosted in all developers PC. Oracle Application 11.5.5 is hosted in a Sun Ultra1 server. Now we have licence for Oracle Developer Suite 10g for RH Linux 3.
My question is , will Oracle Jinitiator for the OS compatible be installed at time of iDS installation??
do we need to grab any specific Oracle Jinitiator for E-Business Suite in this regard??
Is Oracle Jinitiator avbl for Linux platforms. If not wat will be the solution for executing a E-Business module form in a Mozilla web browser in Linux Pc's
Kindly give all your valuable suggestions asap....... awaitng your reply

See http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/forms/htdocs/10g/clientsod_forms10g.html for information on officially supported configs.
The only certification I can see for Redhat is using Sun JPI 1.4.2. The Sun JPI certification was added with the latest patchset (9.0.4.2.0). I know Oracle was planning on certifying Forms 10.1.2 for Sun JPI 1.4.2 and 1.5, but I'm not sure if they managed in the end. Forms 10.1.2 is already available.
We decided to go for Sun JPI and not JInitiator because we have hundreds of external users. Their sysadmins are much more comfortable installing Sun JPI then they are installing the (unknown) Oracle JInitiator.
I've written a number of blog articles about our Sun JPI confguration at http://www.oratransplant.nl/category/oracle/forms/

  • LaCie LightScribe Labeler for Linux released Oct 17th.

Some of us are missing LightScribe capabilities on Arch Linux.
Now "4L" comes as an RPM free (as in beer) & ready for Linux
The news is there : http://www.k3b.org/ (LaCie is a k3b support)
    Press release : http://www.lacie.com/company/news/news.htm?id=10293
    Download page : http://www.lacie.com/products/product.htm?pid=10803
I've never used rpm under Arch and will seek knowledge on rpm2cpio AUR package.
Anybody's willing to get on this ?

Use rpmextract to extract the files from the rpm. Then, it's just a question of installing the files in the correct place (in $startdir/pkg), i.e. binaries in /usr/bin, libraries in /usr/lib, etc.

  • Flashplayer8 for linux ?

when is flashplayer 8 for linux going to be released? Can i
get a beta version or something ?
many sites require flashplayer 9, and the download labelled
    flashplayer8 for linux
on the website actually gives you flashplayer 7
    thanx

Adobe has no respect for it's Linux users. They don't see
making any profit from it anytime soon. We'd have to be surprise we
even got Flash 7 on linux, we might still be stuck on Flash 5 or
    something.
Now it seems they'll skip 8.5 and go directly to Flash 9... A
word of advice, webdesigners should boycott products that are not
truly cross platform ready. I mean the point of making a website is
that everyone can access it or everyone be interested in what you
have to offer. When I think about movies websites like Spider-Man 3
or X-Men 3 I can't access them while using Linux, well the money I
saved on an operating system will not go to those hollywood studios
because I can't even see their website and get the hype about their
    movies.
Bad move from Macromedia/Adobe, Linux is becoming ready for
mainstream on Desktop and they are still proposing stone-age
    software....

Till now it is not ready?!

Very hard to believe. It seems like nobody works on player8

  • Instrument Driver VI's for Linux

Does anyone know if there are already written VI's which use the comedi
suite for data acquisition? Preferrably ones very similiar to the windows
based NIDAQ (like the Configure, Read Data, Write Data, etc) but I imagine
there will be some differences? If not, I'm ready to start making the suite
    of these.
    Thanks,
    Caleb

I am working in the same that you and I saw your questions in the comedi list
and I am trying the same. I work with the PCI-6025 and I saw that you are
working with the PCI-6023 but the installation is the same. Furthemore I have
installed the driver edaq-0.9.5 of National Instrument but the analog output is
    not supported.
Now I have some problems with the installation of Comedi in Debian 2.2 but I
will resolve this problem and then I will begin to make the vi's with comedi
inside, I think that we can help us.
