  • Pocket PC 2002 / Window CE

Anyone know how to create an Java palm application for Pocket PC 2002 or Window CE pls reply me ASAP. THANKS!!!!!!

Write a java application, restrict your self to the low resolution, don't use swing (other wise you have to include swing), make a jar file of your prog, install Personal Java on your PocketPC change classpath on pocket PC, copy Jar and run.
Note not all packages are supported by personal java, for more information go to the personal java forum...

  • PersonalJava in Pocket PC 2002

    Hi,
Can anyone mind to tell me what are the developing tools that i need in order for me to develop an application in Pocket PC 2002?
    Thanks...
    Regard,
    George.

    Hi,
if you want to develop your java apps directly on the Pocket PC, you need a compiler like http://www.freaklamarsch.de/javacw.
If you search this forum, which is a quite usefull function, you should come along this thread http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jsp?forum=56&thread=251408&tstart=75&trange=15 which talks a little bit about the available compilers.
    Have fun,

  • Has anybody used phone functionality using the Palm or Pocket PC 2002 PDA modules?

NI don't know whether their PDA modules will allow use(API calls) of the phone functionality for the Pocket PC 2002 Phone edition or Palm OS's. Has anybody have experience of doing this?

The current PocketPC module does not support SmartPhone, but I think you can write your own library/C code to access the SmartPhone APIs, and wrap it with the Call Library Node to use it from LabVIEW PDA.
You have to install the PocketPC Smartphone SDK in order to use the APIs.
The same goes with the PalmOS module. It currently does not support PalmOS Telephony services but you can write your own code to access the Palm OS Telephony API and wrap it with a Call Library Node.

  • Acrobat Reader for Pocket PC 2 and Win Mobile 5?

I have a UTStarCom using Windows Mobile 5. Is the Pocket PC version 2 of the Acrobat Reader compatible with it? I have downloaded the FAQ but it only says that v2 is compatible with Pocket PC 2002 and 2003. I don't actually know which of these I have, only that it uses Windows mobile 5.
I have also downloaded the User's Guide but it didn't tell you how to install it. Can someone point me to the information?
    Thanks.

    >> Somebody has to speak that way. I am very angry. <<
Welcome to the club... it was formed almost a decade ago, and volumes of frustration and bile have been spilled on the subject over the years ...you are not alone.
The fundamental problem is DRM protection implementation and every reader which supports encrypted ebooks has user issues.
The responsibility for the format used lies with the publisher... who is likely much more interested in content protection than even acknowledging user issues, so, that's where you need to direct your (justifiable) feelings.
Personally, I made a decision in the late 90's based, on principal, to _never_ purchase DRM protected ebooks or audio... ultimately, that's the only user comment the decision makers will even acknowledge, much less listen to.
Your adobe ebook issue is probably addressable on a single device... search here for posts which cover several years of ebook problem solving. I can't help, as I won't go there.

  • PDF quality issues on Adobe Reader for Pocket PC 2.0

The quality of PDF's rendered by Adobe Reader 2.0 PPC is awful when compared to Adobe Reader LE. We are running it on HTC X7500's with a nice 5" display, but you have to zoom in +5x to read the text on our parts manuals, where as LE renders the same manual crisply and sharply and you don't have to zoom in at all to read the text. Unfortunately we use a lot of hyperlinks, forms and annotations in our documents which are only available with AR2.0PPC and not LE or indeed any of the other 3rd party readers (FoxitReader, PocketXPDF or Clearvue).
I'm assuming that this is down to anti-aliasing methods used, and that AR2.0PPC has not been updated for four years!
Are we likely to see a version of Adobe Reader for Pocket PC with the quality of LE? or have Adobe given up on developing this platform?

    >>> Our techs have been using the HTC Blueangel (Same as the I-Mate pictured on your site), and although the image rendered by Adobe Reader was quite sharp, the size of the screen meant you were continually zooming in and out of pages to find the appropriate parts. So weve chosen the HTC X7500 as a replacement because of its 5 screen (amongst other reasons). <<
Ho Kay... have looked at the file and, based on the general layout (drawings with part# references) don't think you can get there from here.
Back to the basic goal, a couple of thoughts based on the assumption that your company is generating these pdf's and needs pda access to them.
Perhaps the part# references can be hyperlinked so the tech could tap the part# on the image and go to a table entry with all of the info on that specific part.
In that case, html would be a better format for navigation since, afaik, there does not seem to be a <back> button in reader.

  • Can't install Reader for Pocket PC on HTC Touch Diamond

can't install Reader for Pocket PC on HTC Touch Diamond? why?

Run the installation on your sync pc... the installation application will run only on a pc, then, activesync installs it on your winmobile device on the next connect session.

  • Need version for Pocket PC 1.0

Does anyone know where I can get an old version of Reader for Pocket PC 1.0. I have an old iPAQ Pocket PC with monochrome screen that's ideal for reading eBooks. Gives very long battery life. Most of the eBooks from my library are PDF format. HELP!!!

    Hi,
    I don't have a Pocket-PC but a PALM OS based PDA with LV-7.1
The button style of two buttons dialog box is not a bold one. It's a plain font.
I'll ask the question about Pocket PC specifically.
    Best regards.

  • Jinitiator for Netscape on Linux?

    Hi,
We have some people who run linux clients and therefore do not want to have to revert
to windows when they want to user the Oracle forms application.
Is there a version of Jinitiator for Linux using netscape and if there is does anyone have any examples of html used to handle multiple jinitiator plugins dependant in OS.
I would have thought Oracle of all people would be leading the way to get rid of the broken windoze ;-)
    Cheers

  • Looking for JInitiator for Linux

Does anyone have access to the JInitiator for Linux. Even if it is beta?

Jinitiator is not needed when you use old versions of browsers on Windows. There is information that IE 5.5 is reliable enough to be used without Jinitiator.
Instead browsers you can use appletviewer in JDK.
Avoid the usage of Linux on front-end (end-user) machines.

  • Flash player 7 for  pocket PC not working

i tried to download flash player 7 for pocket pc and does not
work on mogul phone operating system windows mobile 6 downloads
fine but does not work solutions

    >I have the exact phone by Alltel, PPC6700 Starcom (brand
    new). Version six
    > wont work on it. Versiona 7 which has to be downloaded

    a page on
    > saintleo.com a tutorial example in flash, it connects,
    begins to load then
    > it
    > shuts the browser completely down.
    What page?
    > I go to www.fox.com and I get an error
    > telling me to upgrade my version of flash. (fox.com
    requires flash six or
    > higher. You need to upgrade your Flash plug-in) which
    then sends me to
    > macromedia.com.
Their Flash detection script does not recognise PocketPC. You
    could try
using PocketIE Plus to view it. Set it to identify itself as
    Internet
    Explorer 6 -
    http://www.reensoft.com/PIEPlus/.
    Won't work if you have
Winsows Mobile 5 OS, but you can find other tools that can do
    the same
    "identify as IE 6" trick.

The html says this is Flash 5, so it should play fine.
    How about this
    http://www.tomorrows-key.com/PDAdemo/MRTTpda.html
    ? Does it
    work for you?

This is Flash 6, and should also play fine.
    >
    > The adobe pocket pc reader that I installed works fine.
The Adobe Reader and the Flash player are not connected in
    any way, so this
    is not important information.

  • How to install pocket pc 2002 emulator?

Anyone can teach me how to make my emulator work?
Currently i have 1. pocket pc 2002 sdk
    2. pocket pc 2002 image
    3. j2me cldc
    4. midp
i am very new in developing ppc application. i was doing my final year project. Time is limited, anyone can help? Can you please teach me step by step? Thank you very much.

First check Sims 2 graphical requirements (I'm not sure the integrated graphic card will work). Then you have to install a copy of Windows XP or Vista using BootCamp: http://www.apple.com/support/bootcamp/
When done, simply install Sims 2 like a standard windows program.
