  • Teststand generates error ' labview has encountered a problem and needs to close'

    Hi,
I am using Teststand 3.1 and Labview 7.1.
My problem is that I have a 1D array of 6 elements in Labview that I need to receive from Teststand.
If the array size is set to variable in Labview there is no problem but if I set it to what I require ( fixed 6 ) then when I specify module in Teststand an error message appears , ' LAbview.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close '. Then I get an 18001 about ActiveX as labview has closed.
Why does this happen ?, is it a bug ?

    No bother its attached !
The vi writes to a global variable.
The 'Bytes To Send ' 1D array seems to be the trouble, If its set to fixed 6 in LV then Labview crashes from Teststand when I specify module.
If its set to variable its ok.

  • Recieving Error: iTunes has encountered a problem and needs to close

Please help. I have 2 iPods (nano 4gb & 30gb). My computer recognized the iPods, but iTunes does not open, nor does Quicktime. I am assuming this is due to a Window update, but I still have no idea how to fix this outside of what I've already tried. I have followed the 5 r's with no luck. I have uninstalled both iTunes & Quicktime, reinstalled and still receive the same error. I also have the text file for this error as well.
Next, in testing this with another computer, I have unknowingly erased all of my nano 4gb songs. My backup is the other iPod as well as the XML file. As you can see, I'm headed in a downward spiral. Please help.

    hi Richard!
iTunes has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
the first thing we should check with one of those is a broken quicktime. does your quicktime currently launch? if it doesn't, let's try a careful standalone QT install. see:

  • "iTunes has encountered a problem and needs to close." Quicktime problem!

I'm having a MaJoR problem with Quicktime and iTunes, but i think the main problem is Quicktime since iTunes runs off of it. I've never been able to install Quicktime, and i recently bought an iPod, and when i try to install Quicktime and iTunes the download goes great, but as soon as i try to open either one i get the error "iTunes has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." i've tried about 7 or 8 times now, using the Apple help page too. Please let me know if u have any idea how to fix this.

Here's what worked for other users; perhaps it will work for you (I've never had this problem so I can't say for sure):
    1) Uninstall QuickTime from the Add/Remove Programs control panel. If you have difficulties, Microsoft's Installer Cleanup Utility, as you mention, may help.
    2) Clean up the Windows registry with http://www.ccleaner.com/ (freeware)
    3) Restart your system.
    4) Delete the QuickTime folder
    5) Reinstall QT ( you can get QT separately here.
    Good luck.

  • Help "iTunes has encountered a problem and needs to close..."

I have windows XP with service pack 2 installed and downloaded iTunes from the apple website, when i click on the iTunes icon on the desk top or from the itunes folder it will not open, I get the following error "iTunes has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience" then gives you the option to send error report or don't send. I have already uninstalled and reinstalled it several times and it keeps doing the same thing. Anybody know what I need to do to get it to work???

    Hi -
I apologize for waiting a couple of days to post - I got sidetracked. Anyway, my "fix" involved a lot of trial and error and stumbling around in the dark, but it does seem to have worked so far. Hopefully I can put together a coherent enough sequence of events to help you out.
Preface: While you're doing these steps, disable your antiviral/spyware programs just to make sure that's eliminated as a source of problems.
    1) Using the Add/Remove Programs function, uninstall ITunes, Quicktime and any IPod software.
    2) Download the Windows Installer Cleaup utility from Microsoft:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301
Install this on your computer. As I understand it, this is basically a program that goes one level deeper to remove software from your computer. Once it's installed, open it and use it to remove anything involving ITunes, Quicktime and IPod.
    3) Unfortunately, you still probably haven't removed all the problem traces of Quicktime from your computer. To edit your registry, select "Run" from the Start menu and type "regedit" or "regedt32" in the box. A window should open with the registry editor. There will be a really long list of files on the left side. Scroll down about 2/3 of the way and you'll see a series of folders with "Quicktime" in the name. Right-click on each of these and select "delete." Do the same for "ITunes" and "IPod" folders in this alphabetical list.
    Not done yet.
Under the "Edit" menu, select "Find." Do a search on "Quicktime" - unfortunately there is no "find all" function. So the first file with "Quicktime" will come up; right-click and delete it. Press F3 to find another file and delete - repeat until you've gotten rid of all the Quicktime files. Then search on "ITunes" and do the same process; finally do the same for "IPod." This will take some time.
**Warning: Be very careful not to accidentally delete files not marked with Quicktime, IPod or ITunes. Messing around with the registry is serious stuff that a non-computer expert such as myself should probably not be doing .
    4) Finally, once you've gotten rid of everything Quicktime, ITunes or IPod-related, download the latest versions of Quicktime and ITunes (separately). Install Quicktime first, then install ITunes.
Note: You have to have adminstrator access on your computer to edit the registry.
    Hope this helps...

  • OutlookSyncClient has encountered a problem and needs to close.

I am unable to sync my Touch. When I try to sync, Windows reports "OutlookSyncClient has encountered a problem and needs to close."
There is no other indication of the cause of the problem.
I'm running 7.6.2.9, with Outlook 2003 SP3 (11.8206...) on Windows XP with all the latest updates.

I am getting this error ("OutlookSyncClient has encountered a problem and needs to close"). Six hours of workarounds, uninstalls, clean installs and 2 hours at the Genius Bar to no avail. Everything synchs but the Outlook Calendar 2003. This is a joke. I thought Apple stuff just worked so flawlessly, but I see these 11 month old posts of the same error and it is still not fixed.
I went to the length of removing all of the related software, reinstalling, removing all of my calendar entries, adding a few simple ones and rebooting 50 times all in between. I still got the error.
I cannot get new contact items to synch back to Outlook.
I got a few sample calendar entries to synch one way to the iPhone. New calendar entries on the iPhone did not synch back to Outlook. When I started pasting backed up calendar entries back to Outlook and synching, I got the error again. Even after removing these entries I still get these errors.
I am at a complete loss. I'm not a 10th grader who can handle not synching their calendar with their phone. I need this synched for work and not having this work easily is a non-starter. This amounts to a nifty toy unless a patch comes out in the next couple days. BlackBerry, here I come.

  • When trying to run after install: iTunes has encountered a problem and...

I just got my new Nano yesterday. I downloaded and installed the latest version fine, but when I try to run the app I get the the patented Windows error:
ITunes has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
    Send - Don't send
So I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, same thing.
Then I tried to install two earlier versions of 6. But I get the same exact error.
Also, when I try to open Quicktime. Nothing happens. All I get is the hour glass for about 2 seconds. But quicktime does not open.

hmmmm. i'm no great expert on MusicMatch installation troubleshooting. but we might be able to stop MusicMatch launching for you when a CD is inserted.
it sounds like there is a Windows AutoPlay setting on the CD drive, so that MusicMatch is set to launch every time you insert a Music CD. so let's try changing that setting.
in "My Computer", right-click on the CD drive and select "properties". click on the "AutoPlay" tab. in the pulldown menu, select "Music CD".
do you have MusicMatch set to launch? if so, change the action to something else (or select "prompt me each time ..." instead), and click OK.
does MusicMatch still launch when you insert a CD after doing that?

  • Driving me nuts - iTunes has encountered a problem and needs to close

    Hi all, first time post'er and all of that. I have a problem that is driving me completely insane, and I don't have a solution or workaround. I have upgraded from 6x to 7.02 iTunes and I keep getting the following error, 'iTunes has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience". I have a fair amount of music, approximately 45gb. Now, I need to mention here that if I either do a clean install or upgrade (2 machines that were completely wiped and run up merely for the purposes of resolving this) with no iTunes libraries imported, I have no problem. However, if I import my library back in, iTunes has to determine gapless playback information for 8000 songs. At this point, or somewhere in between, it falls over, touting the previously mentioned error message. I can then restart iTunes and we go round and round in circles with the error and gapless playback information. Let me indicate at this point that if I do create new playlists for a completely new or updated iTunes, there is no problem, so I am assuming it has something to do with the size of the library/playlist information. As a re-cap, this is what I have tried so far;
New install of 7.02 with standard library file with no songs - No probs
New install of 7.02 importing library file - error
Upgrade from 6x to 7.02 with standard library file with no songs - No probs
Upgrade from 6x to 7.02 importing library file - error
I would have had absolutely no need to run 7x except for the fact that my mate just bought me a second generation Nano which needs to run on 7x.
Does anyone have a possible solution?

it sounds like the gapless playback analysis is choking on a song file or files.

  • Adobe Flash Player Installer/Uninstaller 11.2.r202 has encountered a problem and needs to close

Seems that with the last 3 or 4 Flash Player updates, once the update is complete but before the installer actually exits, I get an error message box telling me that "Adobe Flash Player Installer/Uninstaller 11.2.r202 has encountered a problem and needs to close.  We are sorry for the inconvenience.", etc., etc., etc.  I've received this error message numerous times as most of the computers I work on are Windows XP SP3 (all updates) with Internet Explorer 8 as the browser, including my own computer and my wife's.  If I could copy & paste the details, I would.  But the temp file that's supposed to be created for error reporting purposes, isn't, and I'm not going to spend the next half an hour transcribing all the technical details.  I just want you to be aware there's a problem with your installer.       -kd5150-

I'm sorry you are running into this crash.  To help investigate the problem, we'll need you to do a few things for us.
First, add the following line to the file mms.cfg (open in Notepad)
    SilentAutoUpdateVerboseLogging=1
You can find the mms.cfg file here:
    xp, vista, and windows 7 32bit: c:\windows\system32\macromed\flash\mms.cfg
    windows 7 64bit: c:\windows\syswow64\macromed\flash\mms.cfg
Next, we'll want to get a crash dump so we can see what's going wrong.  You can enable crash logging on Windows Vista or 7 using the following steps:
Download the following files: Enable Crash Logging.reg and Disable Crash Logging.reg.
Double-click the Enable Crash Logging.reg file. Click Yes in the Registry Editor dialog.
    Restart your computer.
    Let the updater/installer crash occur
After the crash, open a file browser window and type the following in the navigation bar:%localappdata%
    Go to the CrashDump folder.
Select the most recent file that appears with the extension .dmp.
Double-click the Disable Crash Logging.reg file downloaded in Step 1 and click OK.
    Restart your computer.
Zip up the .dmp file and mail it (or a dropbox link) to [email protected] with a link to this thread.
    For XP, follow these steps:
Show hidden files.  For more details, see the instructions for Windows XP.
Repeat the steps that resulted in the installer crash
After the crash, open the following folder: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\Dr Watson
Locate the file named with the extension .dmp that corresponds with the correct date and time
Zip up the .dmp file and mail it (or a dropbox link) to [email protected] with a link to this thread.
In addition to the .dmp, please post or send me your Flash Installation.log.
Where do I find the Flash Player installation log on Windows?

  • Export op results in  error "EXP.EXE has encountered a problem and needs to

I have been working with Oracle Designer on an old computer (running Windows 2000 and an Oracle 10.2 database) and I am attempting to get it to run on a newer computer (running Windows XP and an Oracle 11g database (release 11.1.0.6)). Regarding the Designer version, I installed the same version (9.0.4.3) that was running on the old computer. On the new computer, features of the tool have worked (ER Diagrammer, DB Design Transformer, Design Editor), but the Export operation of the Repository Admin Utility did not work. When I attempted to run Export, the following happened:
    (1) The "Save As" dialog was displayed (as expected).
    (2) A EXP.EXE script window opened for the Export command and displayed the following:
    Export: Release 9.0.1.5.1
Connected to: Oracle Database 11g Enterprise Edition Release 11.1.0.6.0
Export done in WE8MSWIN1252 character set and AL16UTF16 NCHAR character set
    (3) Immediately, an error dialog appeared stating "EXP.EXE has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."
I am testing Export so that I can test Import, which is the operation I will need to load data from the old computer.
Any ideas how to fix this problem?
If it can't be fixed, are there other ways of transferring data from one repository installation to another?

add the 11g client to the pc and then modify the registry so that it points to the imp and exp from the 11g client.

  • ITunes Installer has encountered a problem and needs to close.

I accidentally removed apple mobile device support so now I can't charge my ipod touch on my computer. I uninstalled itunes and tried reinstalling the latest one and got the message:
iTunes Installer has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
I tried removing temporary internet files, deleting all itunes/quicktime related files from registry, all related folders, setups, and pretty much anything related to it. I try reinstalling different versions but that message still appears. The installing bar goes to a different percentage each time. The farthest one went to about 90%
Does anyone know a solution? I had to resort to buying an AC adapter but it's inconvenient for me.

i found a way around the setup problem.. i created a new account on windows and tried to download and when it wouldnt work i looked at the tech part of the error report.. anyway there were 2 files with TEMP in it so i went to the temp folder and there was a weird folder with all random letters and numbers so after i deleted that the setup would work on the next account.. however on my old account it still wont download =/ but this is a good fix for now

I did a search on this error code (c0000005) and there seems to be a workaround but no solutions, why is this? I ask that because this problem seems to be years and years old, going back to at least 2005 (do the math that is 10 years).
I don't even have the Camera hooked up and I get this error on download.  I redownloaded everything and reinstalled.  I allso saw the AVI issues reported with this proble so i updated Quicktime though without the camera being hooked up when I get this error I didn't expect that to work.  I tried support and they wouldn't help because I bought it in March this year.  Pretty frustrating as I have re-purchased Elements about every 2 years.  I think I might need a new CODEC?   I had this problem on an Earlier version And I seem to remember that being the Fix but this may be something completely different

I finally found that it was missing a picture so the Catalog was "corrupted".  I just deleted the picture and it started working.
I hate Adobe and their total lack of support - thanks for nothing Adobe .  Also get this - they offered me to upgrade to 13.0 ( My 12.0 is only 6 months old  but they still don't support it on errors.  Only install errors!
I have upgrade and repurchase this product 4 times now.  I will find something else next time!
