Jinitiator on my VIA Processor based Board

I am having VIA EPIA-V Motherboard loaded with Windows. I have installed Jinitiator. But My Jinitiator is not working. Finally I found that the Via CPU Support on JRE 1.3.x is having some Bug. It is getting fixed at 1.4.x
But the Jinitiator is based on 1.3.x only. So Jinitiator is not working in my PC. How to overcome this?

Finally I found that the Via CPU Support on JRE 1.3.x is having some Bug.(Bug ID 4395702). So they asked us to use some nonstandard paramemter(-J-XX:-CodeForP6) with the java.exe. So I have to change the forms pages to invoke Jinitiator with this option. But My Other PCs will not work with this solution.

  • Trouble with USB2 after XP SP1 (coming from VIA Socket A board)

(This is condensed from a thread originally on the VIA Socket A Based board. I was requested by maesus to move it here asI have an Intel board.)
I have a new 845E Max2 motherboard and installed Windows XP.
I have a USB2 problem after installing XP SP1 - yellow question marks in the hardware manager under "Other Hardware"/"USB (Universal Serial Bus)-Controller".
I tried "Uninstalling" the USB controller as was suggested in the (VIA) forum, but it won't let itself be removed.
When I try "Search for new hardware" it shows a message that an error occurred when installing the hardware, and that the hardware is not properly configured (Code 1). It suggests that I re-install the driver. When I select "re-install driver", I just get another error message. It asks me if I have a CD or disk wit drivers, but I can't find anything appropriate on the driver disk I got with the motherboard.
I'm sure USB is enabled because I'm able to operate USB devices using both the standard board rear sockets and those on the extra bar. I have a HP USB Scanner and a PenCam, both of which work OK.
In the Devicew Manager, under "USB", there are three USB controllers and three USB Hubs noted, all designated as operational.
I assume that the "unknown" device which is causing trouble is the on-board USB 2.0 controller which is supposedly supported by MS Win XP SP1. For this reason I can't find a suitable driver to load - maybe there's one in the SP1 somewhere but I have no idea where to start looking for it. (I even tried re-installing the SP1, with no positive results.)
I sent a direct enquiry to MSI's support desk last week but, up to now, have had no response.
Has anyone an idea where I should start looking for a driver? I tried the MSI driver CD I got with my board, but couldn't find anything suitable.  Or any other advice how to solve the problem?
    Regards Steve

    Hi again!
Tried the procedure suggested by the (fairly recent - I think March or April 2002) "Lockergnome"  WinXP tip(Sorry I don't have  a reference now, but this is my work machine and I don't have Lockergnome archive installed) and it seems to work - at least I no longer have an "unknown" device with yellow question marks in the device manager, and I DO now have an "extended USB 2" device in device manager  under "USB", in addition to the 3 standard MoBo  USB ports and 3 USB hubs I had up to now.
The trick was that XP's Driver installation routine was saying my USB2 driver data were "invalid". In fact, it was just that certain PCI registry permissions were set to "read-only" for administrators, instead of "full-access". Opening up the permissions with regedit, then re-installing the USB driver seemed to do the trick.
If I still have USB2 problems, I'll post them but I hope I've cured this one. I'll also post the reference to the Lockergnome article when I get home.

  • Irregular failure to authenticate OpenDirectory users via password-based ssh

TL;DR - my Yosemite Open Directory server irregularly fails to properly authenticate users (via password-based ssh).
I recently moved an Open Directory server from an Xserve running 10.6 to a new Mini running 10.10.  I archived the OD config on the Xserve and then took it offline.  Then I brought the Mini online using the same hostname/IP address, created a new OD master using the archived configuration.  Everything seemed to work well, however sometimes the server will not authenticate users via password when logging in with ssh/sftp/scp.  This is also true of a few OS X machines that bind to the OD server (i.e. they usually authenticate users properly, but sometimes fail for no discernable reason).
The failures are only for password authentication using ssh.  Other mechanisms do not exhibit the auth failures.  For instance, AFP and SMB user auth never fails (with proper credentials).  Nor do users to a FileMaker Server machine that authenticate via the OD server have problems.  Public key based ssh authentication never fails.  Local accounts (non-OD, aka "Local Network Accounts") also do not fail using password-based authentication.
The failures are irregular.  The only pattern that I can find at all is that sometimes when the failures start happening, they keep happening continuously until...at some point they work properly again.  That is, they may fail from 11:15 am to 2:01 pm, and if so, then all of them fail in that time range.  Sometimes that time range lasts seconds, sometimes it lasts hours.
The time range failure pattern is host specific.  For instance, if password authentication is failing on the main OD server, authentication may be fine on the other bound machines.  If authentication is failing on one of the bound machines, then it may be fine on all others and fine on the OD server itself.
The failure pattern does not seem to correlate to any other events or activity on the server (even remotely).  CPU utilization never gets above about 15%.  Memory utilization is similarly very low.  Network traffic is occasionally high, but it does not seem in any way related to the auth failures.  There are not other log messages that occur before or after the failures with any consistency.
I've been monitoring the auth failures by attempting to login to the OD server and two other bound hosts once per minute so that I can tell when the auth is failing (before getting calls from the users).
The adaptive firewall is not running on the OD server.  Nor is any other firewall.
Below are a comparison of the system.log entries for a failed and successful auth (I've stripped out those lines that are identical in both instances).  The log entries have been sanatized as described.
Rebooting the OD server does not affect the bound clients' authentication.  Rebooting the OD server is problematic, and I cannot do it often.  When I do, sometimes failures start soon after reboot, and sometimes that don't come back for many hours - again, no discernable pattern.
If anyone has any ideas what I can do to discover the source of this problem and come up with a solution, I'd very much appreciate it.  Note that I'm aware that I can export all users and group and reconstruct a new, clean OD master, but without the ability to save the passwords, this becomes a large logisitcal problem, and I'm saving it as a last resort (particularly since if it doesn't solve my problem, I will have inconvenienced many users and be right back in the same place).
    Thanks for reading.

  • Named or Concurrent user? We've Processor based license

    Hi
    We've Processor Based BOE license.
Which means we can create either concurrent or named users. So which route to take?
How does (does not) creating a Concurrent or Named user affect system performanc? Anything else to keep in mind?

    Hi,
it doesnt care if you have CPU based licensing. also there are no performance differences in the type of user.

  • 865PE CPU Voltage Limitation? (also posted an P4 based board 2 days ago)

    Hello everybody,
I already posted that at P4 based board, but I thought posting it here as well, as you're more likely to play with such settings and values.
I have a P4 2.4C oc @ 3.3GHz with [email protected] The only thing keeping me "down" here is that if I set Vcore to 1.9Volts or higher my system won't boot at all. The screen stays black, and the CPU surely doesn't work as it stays cold. Loading BIOS default values is a pain in the a... as insert won't work (for some of you this is delete for your mobos) and usually the only way is to turn the PSU off while the mobo tries to boot. Any clue why this happens???
-Is it a defect of the board?
-Is it a protection limit of the board? Then why it allows much higher values?
-Is it a defect of the CPU?
-A protection limit of the CPU?
    -A PSU problem? I own a cheap (for it's watts) 550PSU.
Please help! I want more speed!
Thanx for your time reading this!

Your temperatures are too high, which leads me to think we and other pople have a sensor problem or something similar.
I think it could be a combination of things as I have just tried a few tests with and without my case cover on and the results are only 1C lower without the case cover on.
Currently I am getting CPU 59C Idle NB 39C Idle and only 3C higher under load. I think that if the ambient air temp is very high (like it has been in London for the past week) it causes the sensor to overload or go haywire as it cannot cope. I am pretty sure that the Intel thermal protection is very good (if it does not work they have to replace you CPU if it is under the 3 year warranty) so they must be pretty confident of its abilities.
The other thing to consider is that I also de-installed PC Alert4 and went back to PC-Alert3 which seems to be more accurate when comparing between the 2 within the space of a few minutes as PCA3 showed 10C less CPU & 13C less NB.
Probably a combination of PCA4 and poor sensor methinks.
I doubt if extra case fans will make a huge difference but will still another 1 in just in case as they are cheap.

  • 2 New 650i-based boards spotted

I see MSI has started putting up some info on 2 new 650i-based boards...
    MSI P6N2
This looks similar to the P6N-FI board, but with the following differences:
    - board color (Wow - that's bright RED  ).
    - 1x PCI-E slot in place of PCI slot
    - additional molex connector on mainboard
    - CMOS jumper instead of button (odd)
    - different LAN controller (Vitesse® VSC8301 ?)
    - no Firewire
    - different floppy connector location (actually, the layout of this board is very similar to the new ABIT board)
    MSI P6N2 Ultra
Presumably, this one uses the 650i Ultra chipset (which is not supposed to do SLI), but the info and pictures look like they were copied from the P6N2 page, so those specs will most likely change.

Yeah, that's the impression I get.  I also see that today (maybe it was there yesterday and I missed it), they added some text to the Ultra PCI-E slot description that the second slot is basically dead (does nothing).  Which makes sense if this uses the 650i Ultra chipset (doesn't do SLI), but:
    * they still have "SLI" stickers and wording plastered all over the page
    * why even put the slot/connector on the board, if it's not hooked up?

  • Kernel panic (solved) -- VIA chip M/Board

I am using a custom kernel but once in awhile I tried getting the official kernel (2.6.18.x) to work with mkinitcpio but no success. I tried all hints posted in forum related to "kernel panic". The error was always same:
    EIP:[<c024b42d>] acpi_hw_level_read +0x7/0Na SS:ESP 0068:c14a1f58
<0> Kernel panic - not syncing : Attempted to kill init!
When having the same error with Kubuntu's live CD (2.6.17-10) I concluded the problem is in M/Board. Earlier in the forum (read below) was mentioned Linux doesn't support properly VIA based chipset. I changed to Intel 815E. Now the booting works fine with deafult mkinitcpio setting. Also sound is working, which didn't do with VIA chipset in Arch (but in Kubuntu).

You made the terrible mistake of getting a Via based chipset. When buying my computer, Con Kolivas advised that I stay away from them like the plague as under linux, and in general, you get a lot of unusual problems like what you have mentioned.
Ended up with an intel chipset which runs perrrrfectly.

    let's see :
Via KT266A on Asus mobo with athlon XP 1800 approx a year
VIA KT444 (i think) on AOpen Mobo with athlon xp 2600 - 5 months
    VIA KT800 on Asus S939 Mobo with Athlon 64 - 3 months
All 3 systems are running archlinux (lastest version) without any problems
Note : all 3 systems use the via82cxxx module

  • Limiting connections via JAVA based window

My end-users access our database via a Jave based form front end after installing JInitiator on the PC
Does anyone know if there Is anyway i can limit my users to one connection or even 2 on the database per username.
Could i also have timeout on each session on idle time in order that when the connection is idle for say 10 minutes the users session is automatically logged off the db.
Not quite sure how this can be achieved

Do the users log in to the database using indivudual accounts, or using a common account name?
If individual, look for RESOURCE MANAGER and/or PROFILE in the concepts manual.

  • How to administer an Access database via web-based interface?

There are times when I need to edit a database record to do something my CMS wasn't designed to do, so I have to manually edit it. Normally I just ftp the Access mdb file to my pc, make edits, and reupload the mdb file and hope nobody updated the database in the meantime.  Does anyone know of a web-based database admin system that will allow me to edit Access data?  Sure would be nice if I could install something on the server that would allow me to edit any datasource there and not have to have a separate, customized interface for each datasource.
    Thanks for looking, Bill

I would recommend naming that page with an extension that the web server will not serve.  Rename it to use it and then rename it back when done.
Or just put access restrictions on it via the web server, so one needs to authenticate to the system before using it.
Or stop using Access and use a decent DB: Access is not appropriate to be used as a DB for a web application.  But that might not be an option.

  • Did anyone tried Rejection Message Handler via Queue based method?

    Dear All,
I am presently doing a Rejected Message Handler process and successfully implemented with File based and Web Service based. But I am not getting the clue for Queue based. We can enqueue the rejected message into queue as a JMS message via this method. But the URI format they have given is *"jdbc:oracle:thin:@<host>:<port>:<sid>#<un>/<pw>#queue"*. Format includes jdbc connection string along with queue name. For this I have created JMS module with JDBC Persistent store and created queue in it. But still I am not able to enqueue the message inside the queue. Also, is there anyway to see the queue names inside the DB. Did anyone tried this method? Could you please share the info??

WL JMS Queue consume>BPEL1 (One way) invoke>Mediator service (one way) route> BPLE2 (one way). Also I have added transaction properties in BPEL1 and 2 + References + Services.
Now, if there is a fault in BPEL2 the transaction should be rolled back in BPEL1 and the message should be seen in the WL queue itself. But that is not happening in my case. Everything is getting rolled back upto a point just after the >recieve activity in BPEL1 except the message is not getting rolled back to queue. There will be 2 transactions in this scenario : 1) jms queue to soa hydration store 2) soa-hydration to bpel execution.
This is the behaviour for 1 way or async interfaces , jms adapter thread completes its transaction work after persisitng to dehydration store and another bpel system thread starts work executing the bpel code after retrieving the message off the db in a separate transaction. So the rollback you are seeing is only applicable for 2nd transaction which roll backs to the dehydration store instead of the queue.
For synchronous interfaces, the same adapter thread will be involved for complete message processing including bpel code execution. So I think if you want to get the jms queue within the same transaction you can try set up the interfaces to be sync, even with dummy responses. This might make jms adapter thread to start a transaction --> read message off queue within the same transaction --> execute bpel code within same transaction --> complete/rollback transaction based on bpel code execution.
