Jinitiator version

Hi,
I've just installed "Oracle Application Server Forms and Reports Services 10g" (9.0.4.0.0).
I would like to change my version of JInitiator. My version is 1.3.1.17 and I would like to have the 1.4 version for using javax.print.* package in a form application. How should I do ?
What are the files, which I must modify ?
Where can I have a document to do this ?
Thanks

Hi,
My question is rather:
How can I open a printer selection dialog in a form application (with oracleAS 10g)?
I know that it's not possible to use Webutil and my version of JInitiator is 1.3.1.17, that's why we can't use javax.print package.
Please.
Thanks

    Hi everybody,
After I upgraded my Macbook Pro to the latest java of Oracle Java ver7 update 9 I am stuck.
I cannot luanch oracle from on an ERP V12 installation gettling the following error:
FRM-92095: Oracle JInitiator version too low.
I have try to follow the links to deinstall Java 7 and reinstall java 6.
The problem after this is the browser keep on say plugging missing and took you to the site to reinstall java 7 upgrade 9
    I tried the site: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5559
    but it didnt work too...
    Please help.
MacBook Pro 13", OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2)

When I login from my Windows/Xp client machine to my Linux Server running R12.1.1. I get the message below:Was this working before? If yes, any changes have been done recently?
"FRM-92095; Oracle Jinitiator Version too Low. Please install version 1.1.8.2 or higher"
I really do not know what this means. Oracle EBS R12 comes with JRE so you are not supposed to download any Jinitator version. If you already have one installed, please uninstall it (via Control Panel > Add/Remove Software) and check then.
Can some one give me the steps on how to fix this issue--when I open a form from the client machine. Can you reproduce the issue using a different browser? What if you try from a different machine?
Please run AutoConfig and make sure it completes successfully.
    Thanks,

  • When I try to run a form I get a message of Jinitiator version too Low

I've run my first form of Oracle Forms on google chrome but I get the following message:
"FRM-92095; Oracle Jinitiator Version too Low. Please install version 1.1.8.2 or higher"
    I can't understand.
From the control pannel of Windows XP I see "Jinitiator 1.3.1.22"
I use Forms 10.1.2 on Oracle vers. 10gXE
    Thanks in advance!

The Oracle Jinitiator is not compatible with modern browsers. In fact, Oracle has discontinued Jinitiator and no longer supports it's use. Michael is right, you should install the latest Java 6 runtime (JRE 1.6.0_33) and use it instead of Jinitiator.
Since Oracle Forms 10g defaults to using the Jinitiator, you will need to modify your configuration to tell the Forms to use the JRE Plug-In (JPI) instead of Jinitiator. Take a look at Oracle 10gR2 Forms Services – Using Sun's Java Plug-in for information on how to update your configuration to use the JPI.
    Hope this helps,

  • Is there a JInitiator version for Win2000?

    Platform: Win2000
I having a problem lauching the very first applet. The applet window launches but stays blank. If the applet window is resized ever so slightly, then the window refreshes correctly. Any subsequent applet window after that works fine.
I was told that a JInitiator version for Win2000 is in the works and this version will eliminate the applet refresh problem.

JInitiator 1.1.7.30 & 1.1.7.32 has been tested and is supported running on Windows 2000 BUT ONLY when running inside of Microsoft Internet Explorer.
Certification with Netscape and Windows 2000 will be provided in a future version.

  • JInitiator version detect

Some of our users have JInitiator 1.1.5.21.1 installed. Others have JInitiator 1.1.8.16 installed.
We would like to be able to detect which versions, if any, or both, the user has installed. Based on what is installed, we'll offer the user appropriate links or direct the user to a support team.
Version detection is simple using Netscape, difficult using Internet Explorer.
Unfortunately, both versions have the same ProgID, Oracle.JavaBeansBridge.1, and version ID, 1.1, so while the VBScript code
    IsObject(CreateObject("Oracle.JavaBeansBridge.1"))
returns true if one version or the other or both is/are installed, I cannot figure out how to distinguish the two when the user's browser is Internet Explorer.
The two JInitiator versions do have different ClassID values,
    1.1.5.21.1 - 9F77A997-F0F3-11d1-9195-00C04FC990DC
    1.1.8.16 - 9b935470-ad4a-11d5-b63e-00c04faedb18
, but I can't locate any methods for using this info to distinguish the versions.
    Can anyone help with this?
Please let me know if there is a better place for this post - I am new to these forums.

It's all a question of the text in your HTML page.
Check out the base.html and basejini.html file that you are using and set the correct values in the jinitator related entries.

  • Jinitiator version defaulting to 1.3.1.22 not 28?

I have installed JI ver 1.3.1.28 in an attempt to get Forms working in IE7, but when I go to view a form it still presents me with a message telling me I need to "install the folloing add-on: 'Oracle JInitiator'". When I click "Install ActiveX control" it downloads the installation file for JI ver 1.3.1.22.
How can I make it recognise that i have the newer version JInitiator installed and force it to use that one.
I have tried changing the registy value of 'Home' in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/ORACLE/JINITIATOR to point to the ...28 version directory but it made no difference.

  • Oracle JInitiator version 1.3.1.26 + Firefox 12.0 + Windows 7 = fail

    Hi,
    I use Firefox 12.0 on Windows 7.
I've just installl the Oracle JInitiator Plugin version 1.3.1.26 and it doesn't work.
1- When I first login to Oracle EBS (11.5.10) it came this page (normal):
In order to access this application, you must install the Oracle JInitiator Plugin version 1.3.1.26. To install this plugin, click here to download the oajinit.exe executable. Once the download is complete, double-click the oajinit.exe file to install the plugin. You will be prompted to restart your browser when the installation is complete.
2- After install plugin and restart the whole thing, I still have the same page. Firefox doesn't recognize the plugin installed previously.
    Tx

The Oracle Jinitiator will NOT work with any modern Browser (IE 7+, Firefox > 3.5, Chrome, etc). You must use the Oracle/Sun Java Runtime (JRE) 1.6.0_16 or higher. You have to keep in mind that the Oracle Jniitiator is based on the Sun JRE 1.3 and it simply is not compatible with newer browsers.

  • Versions of JInitiator

I want to access Oracle Apps 11.5.10,11.5.9 and 11.5.8 from the same PC, is this possible?
Presently, I have Jinitiator 1.3.1.18 installed on my machine and can only access 11.5.10. I think I need 1.1.8.16 for 11.5.8 and 11.5.9.
    Is there any work around?
    Any help is highly appreciated.
Also, can someone pls tell me the relationship between Jinitiator and Discoverer

    Hi,
You need to first check if all the three instances are repackaged with the jinitiator version 1.3.1.18. If all the three instances are running with this jinitiator version then you can access all the three instances with this version.
If 11.5.8 and 11.5.9 are using some other jinitiator version then there is no opton to download and install on your desktop. Because each instance will have different digital signature.
If you need the same version to be used for all the three instances, then you have to make sure the digital signature for all the three instances should be same and also the jinitiator.

  • Unable to get Windows User Name using Oracle Forms 6i, Jinitiator 1.3.1.17

    Hi,
Requirement: Get Windows User Name using Oracle Web Forms 6i.
Tools Using: Windows NT, Oracle web forms 6i, Oracle 10g DB.
Description: I am using GetClientInfo JBean from otn.oracle.com, which gets windows user name, IP address and machine name. The demo I got from oracle web site uses Jinitiator version 1.1.7.18. While we are using the latest version Jinitiator 1.3.1.17. Due to this reason, I am unable to use Javakey which comes with older version but doesn't come with newer version, that's why I can't create the new JavaBean Java identity (PJC).
Please advise what to do. All environment variables are set everything is done, this is the only thing bothering me.
I went through the article 202768.1 from metalink, but on step 5, it gives an error keytool error: java.lang.Exception: Input not an X.509 Certificate.
Also, please let me know if there is any other workaround for this requirement.
    Thanks & Best Regards,
    Mo

    Hi,
Thanks for your kind reply. Actually there was a problem in creating a certificate, now it is okay with the same method. Certificate got imported on client and everything is ready.
Now, the problem is when I try to set Bean Area Implementation Class property with oracle.forms.demos.GetClientInfo, it gives an error FRM-13008 Cannot find JavaBean with name 'oracle.forms.demos.GetClientInfo'.
I went through the articles 1072329.6, 196824.1, and set ClassPath and Path variables with proper values. Also, I have copied jar file and signature file in forms60/java folder. I don't see any problems. Please let me know what I am doing wrong. My limitation is that I have to do all this in forms6i.
I searched forums on metalink and found out that someone installed Patch 15, and everything went okay for him. Do you think I should install Patch 15? if YES, how will I do it, I mean should I first uninstall my forms and then install patch15 or install the patch on my forms?
Thanks so much for your help.
    Thanks & Best Regards,

  • Calling BIP from Oracle Forms: Having Java version problem.

    <h3>
    Hi,
I tried to call a BIP report through Oracle Forms.
    I followed this PDF.
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/xml-publisher/docs/Forms_BIP_v22.pdf
Problem is, when I run the form, I get this error (copied from the Java Console)

    JDeveloper Version is 10.1.3.5.0.
The Forms 10g Java version is 1.4.
So according to what I discovered on the net, the problem is: My JInitiator is 1.3 using JRE 1.3, BUT my .JAR file is Java 1.5.
Since we are using the Oracle JVM, ticking “Use JRE 1.5..” in the Advanced tab of the Internet Explorer Options has no effect.
We cannot upgrade the Oracle JInitiator to a 1.5 since there is no such JInitiator version. JInitiator is available only up to 1.3.1.30.
What can I do. What if I install Java 1.3 in my machine and re-compile my JAR file with that? Will that work or is there another solution?
    Has anybody encountered this problem?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks & Regards,

    Hi,
Yes, you need to compile your source files with JDK 1.3 (since JInit 1.3.x.x uses JDK 1.3).
Other solution would be to use JRE 1.5 (instead of JInitiator).
Check out [this thread|http://forums.oracle.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=550563] on how to use JRE1.5

  • Thai data - Oracle 9iAS using Jinitiator 1.3.1.21

I have some Thai data that was imported into a database (earlier WE8ISO8859P1, but now UTF8).
I am able to view the data properly in Thai when I view the data through an IE session using TIS-620 encoding.
The same data I am not able to view it through my Oracle 9i web form. I have set the NLS_LANG as TH8TISASCII in the default.env file( and yes locale is set to Thai).
    I see junk characters currently.
My question is if IE can correctly convert and display the data then whats stopping Java from doing the same on the exact same dataset?
If the issue is with charset conversion then it shouldnt have worked with IE either.
    Any clues, anyone?

Some languages cannot be correctly displayed by Jinitiator as they may not be supported. I would recommend the following:
    1. Ensure that the client machine has a Unicode supported font installed. For example: Arial Unicode MS. This font is not normally installed by default.
    2. Ensure that the Forms Registry.dat maps to this Unicode supported font.
    3. Test with the latest Jinitiator version (1.3.1.23). It can be downloaded from Metalink using Patch ID# 4624920
    4. Since some languages are not supported by Jinitiator, try using the Sun JRE 1.4.2_10 since it supports more languages and characters than Jinit. During the installation process choose "Custom". One of the custom options is to add support for "Additional Languages". Add this option as part of the installation.
