Jittering on TV screen

I've asked this question is the past, but I wanted to ask again before I send in my new silver iMac. We have PCE 4 and a new iMac with 2 gigs of ram. In FCE, every time I animate or move any items using keyframes, (graphics, text, LiveType, etc) they start getting jumpy on the TV screen. They don't stop the jitteries during playback or when you press stop. The only way I can fix it is to not move anything and change the keyframes. I have never seen this problem and have been using FC since the 2.0 OS 9 version. I called support and we reinstalled everyting several times, ran updates and still it doesn't work right. Any one with an idea before I send the machine back to Apple? We did an education order and took forever to get the machine, I really don't want to have to figure out how to return it. THANKS!!

On the TV during playback anything that was animated to move is jittering.
It does happen with text and graphics although, it doesn't appear to make video jitter if it is resized or made to move across the screen.
I'm working in DV format 4:3, easy setup is set to DV-NTSC. I've tried other DV set-ups but they all do the same thing.
Where do I find "full" on Render All? The best I can tell it is set for full render.

However I have still continued to be plagued by this issue - typically after 3-5 hours of up time with FF on all the time. So for the last 2 days I have NOT been using FF and have NOT suffered a BSOD or indeed any slow down.
I therefore believe the issue is FF related.

is there a solution already to the blue screen crash whenever firefox is opened? my FF hardware acceleration option is turned off too and i thought it fixed it...but sadly no :(.

Anyone know how to determine Macbook Air screen tech? Causing migraines

Last year, I expereinced a lot of mild migraines which I've traced back to a new Macbook Air.
At first I had no idea of the cause (diet, stress etc) but have noticed that my eyes feel uncomfortable looking at the screen of my Macbook Air (I don't have this issue with my Dell monitor).
My eyes don't hurt per se, but I can detect a sublte jittering with the screen - which can turn into a migraine.
After doing a bit of research, it seems like most (but not all) LCD and LED LCD displays use something called pulse-width modulation to control brightness but after calling Apple support, they told me my MBA doesn't use this technology.
Does anyone know how to determine the underlaying technology in Apple displays so I can research the cauase of my headaches? I found a good Ukranian website (in english) that explained pulse-width modulation but it didn't really talk about other technologies.
Any pointers in the right direction would be much appreciated.

What version of OS X are you using? If Yosemite, you need to update to 10.10.1 or higher.

I've been using the Space-bar for Full Screen Preview for years, & thousands of times with no problems whatsoever.
Suddenly it's become intermittent, sometimes it works "normally", other times I have to tap the Space Bar several times---The image "jitters" on the screen, & eventually works---sometimes takes "a few" taps, sometimes a half dozen or more.
Purging Cache didn't help, nor did replacing the Keyboard with another one.
I don't recall if the CS6 disk has a Bridge "Repair" function.

Basic type question

Hi guys. I created a sequence of animated type. I used one of the preset live type styles "manic" . What I want to know is after the type has finished writing the text how do I have the words staying in the sequence and still being animated ie; jittering on the screen.
I have found a interum solution of placing a jpeg of the last frame as the remainder of the clip but the problem with that is it's not animated.
Can anyone help?

Slow Desktop When Doing a CIFS File Transfer

This has only just started recently but when I copy a file across my wireless network using CIFS or SMB to a share on my Vista media centre my Mac desktop becomes very slow and juttery, the mouse especially just jitters around the screen and makes it impossible to use.
I've checked my CPU and RAM and they appear fine, not sure how else to troubleshoot this. I've installed Dave from Thursby software to try that but it didn't solve the problem.
Anyone any ideas?

EMac issue Big One!!

I am an A+ certified PC Repair Tech. I run an eMac at home for graphic design and games. I was raised on mac but around here everyone is PC driven. My emac recently started locking up and then soon after started locking up with jitters on the screen. First thing I did was reseat my ram, then replaced the ram.. I opened the case and looked at the bottom of the "logic board" it has two capacitors that are kinda raised up. I am also in college for my second degree in graphic design and this computer is a major key in my education. My old iMac flower power cannot run Macromedia Suite 8 at all. MY S/N is not on the list, but it seems to be affected by the capacitor issue. Is apple accepting other machines other than the ones on the list? Also is there anything I can do to get the computer to function correctly. I tried the shift thing but then I cannot connect to the internet as I am one of the few dinosaurs out there on 56K.

I have an iMac flower power, and the main reason for getting the emac was the iMac was becomming too slow to function on anything new. I run Macromedia Suite 8. I might borrow a old G4 tower from college and use that. Until I can get my eMac fixed. Does anyone know if Suite 8 will function on a 500Mhz G3 with 768MB ram? I am glad that my machine does fit in the repair options. Since I know I might call up the Apple Store and get my father to help me get it down there. I am pretty swift with Apple software I would not delete any extensions. I have used Mac since I was 4 y/o. and I deleted some extensions on OS 9 once and it was not pretty.. I've never had an OS X reason to before.. Thanks for your help..

Touchpad in XP very erratic

I have XP running in bootcamp on my macbook, and everything works well except that the touchpad is really erratic, it jitters around the screen making any kind of fine mouse control impossible (I'm a photoshop user) and just normal stuff like web navigation very difficult.
Does anyone know what's going on here and if there's a way to fix it? I also use a usb wireless mouse without problems in XP and the touchpad is fine in OSX>

try using the latest bootcamp software (make the drivers for xp/vista) and try to adjust it in the control panel
using vista without any problem so far (except time which is corrected when connected to the internet)

Since Latest IOS Update iPhone 4 Screen Suddering/Jittering

I recently updated my iPhone 4 with the new update and the update has left my phone with a screen that shudders/jitters on many apps. It started on the one app and has started spreading to other apps and now also to my home screen. I am wondering if anyone else is experiencing this or has managed to fix it as its getting to the stage where I cannot use certain apps.

Upgrade to Xorg 7.0 - Screen Jitters

I just upgraded to Xorg 7.0. Unfortunately, the screen jitters every 5 second or so. It is very annoying.
I am using an old Toshiba 4020CDT laptop with Chips and Tech CT 65555 Video chipset.
I installed the xf86-video-chips driver.
Any suggestions?

I solved it. Xorg --configure did not create a proper xorg.conf. It choose the vesa driver, not the chips driver. It also did not specify the HorizSync and VertRefresh.
In the Monitor Section, I added the following:
HorizSync 31.5 - 48.5
VertRefresh 50.0 - 90.0
In the Device section, I changed Driver "vesa" to Driver "chips"
In the Screen section, I added the following:
DefaultDepth 16
Now it works great!

After installing the 7.0.6 update, my home screen is bouncing and jittering. I've restored the phone from backup with no resolve. HELP! I'm getting sea sick viewing my screen

Truthfully I'm a bit puzzled in how to assisst you.
1. Icon missing: let's try re-sending your service books: go to options > host routing table ....now click on menu key and register.
Now do a battery pull while phone is ON.
If this restores your missing icons...then make a call and see if it can be ended.
If End call still not working: make sure the key is properly seated in the housing (was the phone dropped) ....signs of this is key feeling "hard" and needing more pressure.
Tilt the phone and see if flush or just slightly raised....if it is press down on raised part it will click in.

Illustrator CS5 menu/screen jitters on Windows

I've installed Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Flash, and InDesign. All seem to work great, except for Illustrator. With Illustrator anytime I use a drop down menu like font or font size, the screen jitters. The skin that covers up the default Windows window shell goes away for an instant, revealing the standard Windows look (I'm talking about the top 1/2" of the screen and the trim that goes all the way around). Also, when this happens, I can quickly read the title across the top. It's like the older versions of Illustrator where the name of the document is located, but it also says "(Not Responding)" next to the file name. Again this only happens for an instant and is gone. Also, if I try to save as a PDF or any other format, the same thing happens with the drop down menu to select file type. The only difference is that this drop down menu won't stay down - it automatically pops back up, not allowing me to select my file type, unless I press a hotkey like "p" immediately after clicking on the drop menu.
I would suggest it is a graphics display error, however, all my other programs seem to be running fine, even 64-bit Photoshop. My GPU is an Invidia GTX 260 and I just updated the drivers to see if that would help but no success. I have a pretty solid machine setup with i7 quad, 16GB of RAM, 1TB HDD, so I don't think it's hardware. I have also done all the updates for Illustrator, so there's not solution there either. This is exceedingly annoying as I am self-employed and Illustrator is my bread and butter for logo design! Please help me out!

Actually, nothing fixed at all. Must have been a coincidence that it started working. It's back to doing the same thing. I can't select a
file extension unless I use a hotkey to scroll through the options. Using up/down arrow keys or mouse doesn't work. Any ideas?

Home screen jitters, no screen rotation

A hard object recently dropped on my iPad screen, luckily it didn't crack but since then the home screen jitters about. The screen doesn't rotate except if this is controlled in app, (I have checked the rotational switch and settings). Also if movement of the iPad is needed to control an app games racing games for example then this doesn't work either. I have tried a hard reboot several times but it hasn't made any difference. Any advice before I make an hours journey to the apple store. Thanks

And you already reset the device taking out the battery? if your answer is yes and you can't fix the problem you need to upgrade the software on the device.

I can't quit Safari and my screen has occasional jitters. What's wrong?

My MacBook Pro has developed several symptoms which I am going to guess stem from Mother Board problems.
1 My screen over the last couple of days has spontaneously jittered (not flashed) then the computer crashed. I could move the cursor but nothing else. I had to force a restart.
2 I tried to shut down but now I can't quit Safari.
3 I have 10 dark plumes coming out of the bottom of my screen evenly spaced.
Mother board failure or something else? What would be the best course of action? I am going to force quit again and see if I can get rid of the plumes.

Thank you Andrew. That solved my dark plumes problem. I finally got hold of my son who is very good at computer problems and he suggested that I shut down, remove my battery and disconnect the power supply. Leave it like that for 20 mins or more. Apparently the condensers sometimes get overcharged and cause strange little problems and that can fix them.
I have tried that and so far it is working like it did when it was new. I will work with it for a few days and report back.
It does seem like the dark plumes was a separate issue which you solved.
