"jittery" iPod volume slider in iPhone 3gs

Hi
I bought my iPhone 3gs a couple of months ago.
I love all the great features it has and I can honestly say my life has become much simpler with this product
However, I have a minor concern.
Just sometimes, when I am listening to music on my iPhone, the volume slider acts all funny.
By acting funny meaning the little circle slider gets all jittery and I can't control the volume. It acts all strange and messed up.
Thankfully I can "reset" the iPod part.
But it gets really annoying to do that everytime it happens.
I have the latest software update installed, and I still have this problem.
Does anyone else have this strange bug?
Hopefully Apple can listen to my minor concern.

I have the same problem on my iphone the volume slider desappears or hide off when its not conected at the dock. The thing is that I can make a calls with not problem and I can hear the ring but if my iphone its not in the dock I can not play music either videos. Its the only way to fix it.. doing a restore and update ??? because if I do that my phone it's gonna get blocked. and also a message appears ( this accessory is not made for this iphone ......swich a airplane mode blablabla..) I dont know if it's the same problem?

- If you previously turned on FIndMyiPod on the iPod in Settings>iCloud and wifi is on and connected go to iCloud: Find My iPhone, sign in and go to FIndMyiPhone. If the iPod has been restored it will never show up. You can't use the FIndMyiPhone app on the iPod since the app requires iOS 7
- You can also wipe/erase the iPod and have the iPod play a sound via iCloud.
- If not shown, then you will have to use the old fashioned way, like if you lost a wallet or purse.

Have yu tried the standard fixes:
- Reset. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears
- Restore from backup
- Restore to factory defaults/new iPod.

No volume button on iPhone 3GS o sounds on iPhone

My iPhone 3GS has no volume for "clicks" and does not show volume unless the earphones are plugged in. I get the message that This accessory is not optimized for iPhone. Any fixes out there?

I thought my problem might be in the connecting area. The error message pops up when there is nothing connected to the phone. There is no way to adjust volume because the phone seems only to recognize the ringer and will not show volume bars at the base of the bell that appears when adjusting volume. When I have the earphones plugged in, there is a volume slider that appears, but disappears when I pull the earphones out. The clicks I have referred to are those that one hears when typing in a text message or entering a phone number to dial. I have no "sound effects" at all. The phone will ring with my ringtone and I can hear a caller. I can't hear music from the iPod unless the headphones are plugged in.
Is this dirty or damaged connector fixable or do I need a new phone?

Is there an app to control the volume of an iPhone 3GS?

I have an iPhone 3GS and the volume keeps going all the way down once I plug the headphones in. Before this started happening the volume would go all the way up. Before that even started happening the phone would repeatedly try to shut itself off and I had to keep pressing Cancel.
I did buy the phone off of eBay used, to try and go on a prepaid contract once my current contract ends. On the case itself, there are some minor scuffs and such, it does look like it was opened at a time. It still works perfectly, except for the volume glitch right now. Is there an app that controls the volume to keep it from going all the way down?. People say in forums and such to tighten the screws on the bottom (which I tried), and to also open the phone and see if there is anything blocking the volume control thing (like dust or anything) but I'm afraid to try that with the risk of causing further damage. What should I try?.

I have an iphone 3gs and suddenly after sometime, the volume switches off..
i can only play songs.. but no volume..
but after some time, if i plug my device for charging, the volume comes up or if i play a game the volume returns.
Whats the problem??

How are you listening? Via headphones, then internal speaker, or a dock? If it's a dock, in some cases output is controlled only by the dock system, not the iPhone itself.

I am in the market to buy a new IPHONE 3GS as they are finally becoming available in our location. The thing is I have an 8G IPOD TOUCH with all my songs and apps that I have downloaded and paid for. Is there a way to remove them from the IPOD and onto the IPHONE without having to pay for it all again?

All your purchased songs and apps will remain in your itunes. You should be all set to sync your new 3GS as long as you dont plan on changing your itunes account credentials.

IPod video dock with iPhone 3GS

Hi guys,
New iPhone user and OMG what have i been missing!! Loving it. Quick question, I am using the iPhone in my iPod dock and I get a message on my iPhone "Not supported Blah Blah" but the phone is charging and I can transfer, make calls etc. Is it ok for me to contiue using it or should I get the proper iPhone dock? How long does it take for the iPhone to charge fully from empty?

if its charging it you can use it...
apple has a standard for connectors, docks, etc that lets the connection tell the iphone/touch what it can and can't do.
if you havent noticed yet iphones use GSM technology for the phone to work... GSM has a habit of introducing radio frequency interference (RFI) that is just at the perfect wavelength to cause speakers to chirp...
usually when you get the warning about not designed for iphone it is because the company who designed the product (dock, clock radio, stereo, etc) has not designed it to shield itself from that RFI.. which will cause annoying chirps on the speakers or the stereo etc... the message usually offers to put the phone into airplane mode which will also stop RFI from happening (since the phone function will be off).
if you don't mind your phone laying on the table just use the usb cable that came with it!

Problems with using my iPod feature on my iPhone 3GS after upating to iOs 4.3.3 Help!

After I updated to version 4.3.3 I am unable to use my iPod on my iPhone. It says I must sync to iTunes before I can use it. I have my music on two different computers in 2 different cities so I am afraid if I sync to one library I will lose half of my music on the phone.
When I looke in "Settings", "About" on the iPhone it says I have 1,463 songs but yet nothing comes up in my 'iPod. Very frustrating.

Well, I was able to get it to sync by opening iTunes first, and THEN connecting the iPhone. And it does sync but still will not sync with iPhoto. I also unchecked and rechecked the option to "Open iTunes automatically when this iPhone is connected" and now iTunes opens and syncs automatically. But tried the same thing with iPhoto to no avail.
Any ideas for iPhoto syncing?
