Jittery lines when drawing with pencil tool in Flash

When drawing with the pencil tool using an Intuos Wacom tablet, the lines are jagged and create several points along the jagged line, making the pencil tool unusable. Does not occur with any other program. Using Flash CC Pro 2014.

What is mode of pencil you have set to draw like straihgten ,Smooth or Ink ,and if it smooth mode what is the smothing value you have set .
Wacom driver version.
do you see this problem in any previous version of Flash.

When drawing with polygon tool, a solid black rectangle appears??

When I use the polygon tool to draw, a mysterious black rectangle appears underneath, and grows with my cursor movement, obscurring whatever is underneath. The black shape has nothing to do with the shape I'm creating. I am tracing boundary locations on a map, for example, and the black shape blocks out the lines I'm trying to trace, if my opacity is set at 100%. It mimics the opacity I'm using to draw. I never saw this in AA7. Why would anyone want this function, and is there a way to turn it off?

Thanks for your reply. I am exporting edited versions - export seems to work OK when exporting originals. But all my images are edited a bit, even if just simple cropping etc.
I tried adjusting the color sync profile as you suggested but this didn't help. I also adjusted the gamma and watermark and again, no change.
It seems like I have some kind of bug or something within Aperture, because it is doing all kind of strange things, like now eny time I edit a photo at all it appears solid black in my "browse" view (but OK when I double click it). Similarly, when I duplicate a photo it does random funky stuff to the photo in browse view (from being solid black, to solid red, to appeairng to have some random color filter, to appearing like static from static TV). These issues are all secondary though from the main issue of not being able to export images, since I have a friends wedding photos I am trying to get out to them!
Any other ideas of what might be causing this?

Paint bucket tool after drawing with brush tool

Hi,
I am just wondering if there is anyway to paint using the paint bucket tool properly after drawing something using the brush tool. Although I have no gaps anywhere within the outline , there are times where the paint bucket tool doesn't paint. Another issue I encounter is whenever I try to adjust the shape with the selection tool it either fills a portion of the shape with color and even sometimes makes the shape itself disappear. Is there a way to only select a small portion of the drawing (like the way it is with pencil tool) as the shapes were done using a couple of strokes instead of just one.

You can use use paint bucket tool to change the color of lines drawn with brush.And to be sure that there are no gaps select the line with subselection tool because visually you cannot make out as the gaps are defined in pixels.Also you can select parts of fill region with selection tool if the painting with brush is done in shape mode not object drawing mode.Hope this helps.

Line drawn with Pencil Tool appears to fade in and out

Hi Allen,
I looked up that case number and watched a recording of you working with the agent and am not convinced that what you are seeing was necessarily because of the graphics card.
This is my interpretation and thoughts around what you were seeing. I noticed that you were working on an image that took up a fair amount of the screen when viewed at 16.7% zoom. This means it was a pretty large image. Next, I noticed you were using the pencil tool with a tip that was 4 pixels.
I think the combination of these two things was the reason the pencil tool was appearing choppy or to fade in and out when drawing. This occurs because you are using such a small size and are zoomed out so much that the lines are barely visible. When you zoom out the program resamples the appearance. This resampling can cause detail to be lost and the appearance to vary depending on what zoom level is used, 16.7% is particularly bad with fine details.
I think there would be two solutions, use a different zoom level to get a better view or use a pencil with a larger size.

Colors are overlapping when drawing with a tablet...

I apologize for the bad headline.
My problem is easy. When coloring something with my tablet, the colors are overlapping as hell but ONLY when I release the pen and then color again, over it.
The problem with that is, that I cannot go back once the pen is released and get a even~ish color. It is almost like I get the multiply-effect even though neither the layer nor the pen is set to that option.

This picture shows the overlapping. It is way to dark, and it doesn't get this dark when I go back and the pen was not released. Only, when I release the pen and then go back. It doesn't get this dark, at all, in other programs like Paintool Sai and more.

My advice would be to learn a little more about Illustrator. Once you do, the tablet will work more like you're expecting. For instance, I would look up in the Help files or in a book how the brush and pencil tools function. Different settings in different places will spare you the surprise of ever-changing lines as you draw them. You'll probably also want to know how to draw open and closed paths if you hope to fill your drawings with color.
On the other hand, drawing on paper is a treat that you'll not really be able to replicate on computer. Even with a tablet. Doesn't feel the same, doesn't sound the same, doesn't smell the same. Doesn't even look the same.

Edit Audio with pencil tool not working LP8

I am using Logic Pro 8.0.2. I am trying to edit an audio track in the "sample editor" window to remove a couple of clicks.
-I am highlighting an audio track, and then opening the sample editor
-When I get to the spot that I want to edit - I am dragging the pointer tool over that area to select it
- I am selecting the pencil tool in the sample editor window. When I go over the area that I want to work on and click the mouse, the magnifier turns on instead

I'm running Logic8 on my 3.02 imac xtreme with Waves Mercury plugins with 4gig ram 10.5.5 and I'm trying to node a mac mini 10.4.11.
I'm getting the sync pending dull green on node enable tracks but NO actual node precessing at all
I've tried every conceivable comdination of plugins on trax Waves Non waves a mixture but still NO offload at all
Any ideas??

CS6 hangs when selecting the pencil tool

CS6 hangs for about a minute when I select the pencil tool. Everything just freezes up and then after about a minute I'm good to go. I'm running Lion 10.7.3 with 12GB Ram.

You have "standard" set as your curser preference. To change it Edit<Preferences<Display and Cursors.

Jagged lines when using Stroke Width Tool

Hello,
So I upgraded to CS6 and since then the stroke width tool does not seem to behave properly.
I sometimes, not all the times, get jagged lines when I try to adjust the stroke width.
Any idea what's causing this?

Looks like its duplicating profile points, but that may be entirely a precision error with your mouse clicks....

When using the Pencil Tool I could see an outline of the pixel group - this has disappeared and all I see is the pencil - Why ?

I use the Pencil Tool to modify pictures and drawings in Photoshop Elements. Normally I would see an outline of the pixel group - so for example, if the pencil size was 6 pixels I would see the outline of the six pixels. This allows very accurate poitioning of the tool. All of a sudden these outlines have disappeared and all I can see is a representation of the pencil where the cursor is. This makes positioning rather hit and miss especially if the pixel size is large. What has changed - and how can I return it to the way it was ?

Question about pencil tool in Flash CS4

The thing that I am having difficulty with is the pencil tool.It does not render a line as I draw it but only after I release the mouse. How do I correct this?

When drawing with the shape tool in Flash how can I vary the stroke width?

I created an oval shape and I'd like to vary the stroke width so it's not all just one uniform thickness. However in the Properties window I can only find the uniform stroke width and style options (solid, dotted, hashed, etc...). How can I add some tapering?

You probably need to convert the line to a fill and then change the shape of it. .. Modify -> Shape -> Convert Lines to Fills

Blurred lines when using the stroke tool

Im trying to draw frames with feathered corners using strokes, its supposed to be a solid black line 2px thick it works sometimes but not others. What I end up with is a blurred edge, almost like it's using a spray which is not at all what I want, have tried changing various settings but its still the same.
Anyone any ideas please? It's driving me mad..

Yes, I was using the marquee tool to create the rectangular shapes then using the stroke tool. I took feathered setting off and that resolved the problem.
But...
How do I create rectangular shapres with rounded edges, then use the stroke tool?
I've changed the colour settings so it's not being 'filled' but when I try to use stroke it's now greyed out.
All I am trying to achieve is a rectangular shape with rounded edges with a black outline.
I thought it would be simple ;)

Getting stroke lag when using brush/pencil tool...

Hello, pretty new to Flash CS6. I've been sketching in Flash all day and running into a weird problem. When doing quick brush strokes, every 1 out of 7 or so does not register. My tablet lights up telling me I'm applying pressure, but it skips the stoke on screen comepletely. After doing a quick test in Photoshop CS6, I didn't have any missed stokes, even when done very quickly.
I'm using a 2011 MacBook Pro i7 with 8 gigs of RAM. Tablet is an Intuos4 with updated drivers. Thanks in advance.

Sorry for the impatience, but I could use some help here. I animate in a sketchy style and it's very irritating when ~20% of my lines don't register at all. It seems like a very simple fix I am overlooking, but I lack the knowledge to figure it out on my own.
I've googled to the ends of the internet, but only found similar problems in Photoshop, which doesn't help me here. Is there some default brush setting I am overlooking? I am getting complete misfires with an empty stage, no applications open and only 2% of my CPU taken up.
Again, sorry for being hastey, but I've been drawing for hours and this is crippling my workflow

How to continue drawing with pen tool

Let's say I begin tracing an image with the pen tool. Something comes up 1/2 through the trace job and I need to stop the trace. How do I later go back and begin the trace from my last point and continue on to the end. Right now, all I am getting is new anchor points and lines that do not join with the original trace. Thanks

I believe it may be time for the list, also for your other issue.
The following is a general list of things you may try when the issue is not in a specific file (you may have tried/done some of them already); 1) and 2) are the easy ones for temporary strangenesses, and 3) and 4) are specifically aimed at possibly corrupt preferences); 5) is a list in itself, and 6) is the last resort.
If possible/applicable, you should save current artwork first, of course.
1) Close down Illy and open again;
2) Restart the computer (you may do that up to at least 5 times);
3) Close down Illy and press Ctrl+Alt+Shift/Cmd+Option+Shift during startup (easy but irreversible);
4) Move the folder (follow the link with that name) with Illy closed (more tedious but also more thorough and reversible);
5) Look through and try out the relevant among the Other options (follow the link with that name, Item 7) is a list of usual suspects among other applications that may disturb and confuse Illy, Item 15) applies to CC, CS6, and maybe CS5);
Even more seriously, you may:
6) Uninstall, run the Cleaner Tool (if you have CS3/CS4/CS5/CS6/CC), and reinstall.

Fixing paths after drawing with pen tool?

Afer you draw a shape with the pen tool and you are not happy with the way you drag the curves and drew the path, do you do anything more with the pen tool at that point or do you later fix it with the Direct Selection tool to manipulate the anchor points to fix it?

Access to the direct selection tool works only when you clicked on it before choosing the pen tool
If you select the direct select tool before you choose the pen tool it will be accessible by holding the command/control key but if you have the selection tool selected first and then of course it shows up you can in CS 4 and 5 also then hold the command/option Tab key to toggle the direct select and selection tools while still in the pen tool.
