Jittery media playback (mp3, video, etc.)

I had some issues updating BIOS to current and then worked out most of the problems.
However I'm having a lot of stuttering problems.  The video and audio playback used to be fine.  Now I can't even play an MP3 on my computer without it stuttering.
I'm not sure what the problem is, but thought it might be the RAM settings.  I have 2 x 512MB but the first is a LD brand PC3200 and the second is a PNY Bravo PC3200.
Any suggestions on what to do?  I've had an IT guy look at it and he doesn't have a clue (though his specialty is more about setting up networks...)
I've looked through some of the posts but am frankly    at this point.

thats weird mate, doesnt sound like your bios would cause something like that though. maybe your codecs got busted up. did you run a bios flash through windows, and if so did you have any media running? i would just suggest reinstalling your audio and video drivers, and the codecs aswell if the driver reisntall doesnt help.
also make sure that when you reinstall everything thing that you make sure you have the latest drivers.

  • How can I add lyrics to media (mp3, wma, etc.) files?

Is there any possibility to add lyrics in media files (mp3, wma, etc.) in Windows 7? I didn't get it

For various reasons, that feature was intentionally removed from WMP12 for Win7.
Please, please note that tags can still be edited from within Windows Explorer; however, the 'lyrics' feature was removed there.
See zachd's responses in this thread:
WMP 12 - Where is the Advanced Tag Editor?
There, you'll see the reasons that ATE was removed from Media Player, as well as why 'lyrics' went away.

Thanks Janaki but how can I add a new application? I tried to do it using Flash Media Administration Console but it doesn't work
    Hi Salma,
To add an application to FMS follow the below steps
    1. Create a folder "my_app" under "$InstallRoot\applications" directory.
    2. For simple server side code... add "main.asc" file inside "$InstallRoot\applications\my_app" directory which has the content like
    application.onConnect = function(clientObj){
         trace('onConnect function");
         return true;
    3. To add streams to the application, creates 'streams' folder inside "$InstallRoot\applications\my_app" directory, within that create '_definst_' folder and then place your FMS supported streams within the directory. So your streams for the 'my_app' application will be at "$InstallRoot\applications\my_app\streams\_definst_\mystream.flv".
You can connect to this application using the url "rtmp://your_server_name/my_app". To play the stream mystream.flv using video player, use the url "rtmp://your_server_name/my_app/mystream.flv".

  • How to stream with the player strobe media playback videos using http dynamic streaming?

    Hi..
please could i have some help about the player strobe media playback?
i would like to know how to stream with the player strobe media playback videos using http dynamic streaming.
I have already installed the server,i put my own video in the video on demand folder.i downloaded the player but i don't know how to stream that video with the adobe protocol dynamic streaming.

    http://osmf.org/configurator/fmp/
Use this configurator, and use the same code it generates with your strobemediaplayback.swf
Also make sure the domain where strobemediaplayback.swf is being called from and resides, is in your /webroot/crossdomain.xml  file, or it will not work.

  • Media playback after sleeping

I have this weird issue where I'll sleep my computer, and when it resumes my media playback timing is off. Everything plays really fast at varying speeds. Sometimes 2x, sometimes 50x. It does this in both mpd and smplayer, with videos, mp3, flac, etc. If I restart the computer, it'll be normal again. Has anyone experience similar problems or know what might cause that?

I have a similar problem - when I pause a track in amarok2, and unpause it after a while, it starts skipping every 2 seconds.
    I'm using amarok2 and pulseaudio.
Since I just did a fresh install yesterday, I still haven't figured it out if it does this on all files, or just some files.

  • Online Code Walk-Through Wednesday on How To Build an OSMF Player Strobe Media Playback

Wednesday November 17 at 12:00 noon PDT the OSMF User Group is hosting an online  code walk-through of the open source Strobe Media Playback video  player codebase.
The code walk-through will be lead by Andrian Cucu who is  Adobe's Project Leader on the Flash and Strobe Media Playback video player  project.
To join, just go to the following link at the meeting time to join the OSMF  User Group's Connect room:

For further details and to RSVP see the following link:

    ** ALL ARE WELCOME! **
** PLEASE FORWARD THIS MEETING NOTICE TO ALL WHO  YOU THINK MAY BE INTERESTED! **

The player supports both standard and advanced delivery methods, including progressive download, RTMP streaming,
RTMP dynamic streaming, HTTP streaming, HTTP dynamic streaming, and live streaming. Flash Media Playback
1.5 and Strobe Media Playback 1.5 also provide support for RTMFP multicast content delivery.
While RTMP(x) streaming are FMS content delivery technologies, the player can also be used with other FMS compatible streaming servers, such as Wowza or Red5.
In the case you do not need the use of FMS streaming functionality, progressive download is always an alternative (what this means is that all you need is a video that can be served by a webserver like apache, nginx, lightypd, etc).
As for how the player can be used, these links are allways a good place to start and get a better idea of what it is all about:

    me know.
    Thanks in advance.

Why don't we start over and go step by step from the
    beginning...
#1 - Create a project folder somewhere on your hard drive.
Name it. You will save your fla, swf, and mp3 files in this folder.
#2 - create new flash document.
#3 - save flash file to project folder.
#4 - drag MediaPlayback component to the stage.
#5 - open Component inspector. Click mp3 radio button. Place
name of mp3 file in URL field.
#6 - make sure mp3 is in project folder with fla file.
    #7 - test movie.
    That "should" work.

  • Strobe Media Playback - calculating playback position from server

Need assistance on changing the seek position of a streaming video from Wowza Media 2.23 using Strobe Media Playback.
Have browser playback working OK but need to be able to position play derived from an array which gives a timing line value from the original video.

  • 55L6200U media playback and usb problems

    Hi All,
i recently got the Toshiba 55L6200U and i want to play all kinds of video format (Avi, divx MKV etc.)
Can or will this tv support different codecs for watching movies? (avi divx mkv etc???)
The only way i get it to work is to hook up my pc and use the tv as a monitor.
On my pc i installed two kinds of dlna servers: Mezzmo and Serviio, but neither of these seem to work. I can access the server but when i try to play my movies it says "unsupported file". I also set the dlna servers to render the files but still the tv shows "unsupported file" when using Mezzmo, and "no applicable media files" when using serviio. I sometimes also get Media playback error.
I tied using my usb stick but i can't seem to access it (Fat32).
    Can anyone help me ?
    Thanks in advance.

My links do not appear to be broken, I have checked them with Firebug / View Source. Has the javascript changed for Strobe 1.5?

Okay, I think I have it *partly* figured out. If I use the link from the example it works:

Does the video have to be online for it to work?

  • No audio streaming RTMP from Red5 to Flash Media Playback

I am streaming RTMP from a Red5 server and viewing with Flash Media Playback. The video is fine but there is no audio. Is there any debugging information I can look for or any other configuration settings I need to try?
