Jldap and groupwise

Hallo,
I'm using a self written Java-program to manage the edirectory users. I can
create or delete a user, modify an useraccount, modify groups etc ....
But when I delete an useraccount, the user remains in the Groupwise -
Postoffice.
How can I remove/add a user from/to a Groupwise - Postoffice with a
Java-program?
My system: Netware 6.5 with Zenworks 7 and Groupwise 6
Thanks
Eugen Gentner

I will try the second option with IDM.
Thanks

  • Veeam and OES NSS drives and GroupWise

Can anyone give me some tips and or tricks when it comes to backing up SLES 11 Sp3 / OES 11 Sp2 servers with NSS drives and GroupWise 2014 using Veeam 8.0?
I am testing Veeam 8.0 for our company and am a little leery about do a restore of files on our production server and really dont want to setup a complete test server if it pretty straight forward.
    Just wondering,
    Ken

Veeam 8.0 does have a restore using NSS file system option. My concern is when Veeam does a FLR proxie and brings up a duplicate (excluding IP Address) of my main OES 11 System. Will they conflict having the same name/tree structure or wont the original OES tree even know its there?
I dont really have the equipment to setup a full test environment so I am hoping someone can help me with this.
    Thanks,
    Ken

  • Acrobat 9.0 and Groupwise 6.5

I recently purchased Acrobat 9.0 and put it on my computer. I use Groupwise 6.5. When I open a .pdf either within Acrobat or through Acrobat and the browser and then try to send the .pdf as an email attachment Acrobat hangs and shuts down. It opens an email message but never makes the attachment and then shuts down. Any suggestions??? I would like to be able to send email attachments. The Error signature is below. I'm using Windows XP - 2SP. I've done a few searches and have read something about the MAPI but I know nothing about this.

When this issue has come up in the past, it's been associated with the version of Windows Messenger that is installed. The recommendation is to make sure that the Windows Messenger version provided with the GroupWise installation is installed. Here is a link to a Novell Technical note with additional information:

  • Group Policy and GroupWise Attachments

My company uses the "Run only allowed Windows Applications" feature from Group Policy to lock down what can be run on our workstations. We have 2 main policies, a standard (lockdown) policy and an admin (open) policy.
Ever since a 7.0.2 GroupWise client/server upgrade, under my lockdown policy some of my users have complained that when they click the attachment button in GroupWise it no longer goes to the location of the last attached document, instead it goes to a default location. It might be the D drive, the GroupWise directory, it changes from computer to computer. I have confirmed that this is the behavior of the lockdown policy, and when I switch to the open policy the attachment button goes to the previous attachment location as is expected.
I've placed addrbook.exe, grpwise.exe, gwmailto.exe, gwreload.exe, gwsync.exe and notify.exe in my allowed list for executables and can't figure out what I might be missing. In the past I ahve found OCX and DLL files that have had to be specifically added to the policies as well to get certain functions to work, is it possible that this may be the case in my situation or could it be a completely different policy that I should be looking at?
I'm getting ready to push the 8.0.2 clients to my users and this is something that I'd like to try to resolve before I do that push. Thanks!

I just tore apart my group policy and found that using the Hide These Specific Drives and hiding the C: drive is what is causing this attachment behavior issue. Any ideas why it is causing this and any possible work arounds other than unhiding the C: drive?

  • Notify sound won't work (Windows 7 and Groupwise 8.0.3)

Has anyone else had a problem with the Notify sound not working? I've never had a problem with it before, but we recently upgraded from Windows XP to Windows 7 and I had Groupwise 8.0.3 installed with it. The sound will play when testing during setup (via the Notify icon/Options/Notify), but it will not play when an email is sent and the Notify box pops up with a new email. I'm hoping someone will be able to suggest a solution.
    Thanks!

  • Powerpoint 2013 and Groupwise 8

    Hi All;
I've recently deployed a few machines that have had Office 2013 installed on them from the factory. Our standard build has Groupwise client 8.0.2 as our email client. End users have admin rights to their machines. They are able to open Word and Excel attachments and shared documents without issue (double click from within the message), they are unable to open PowerPoint documents however. I can see the powerpoint process start and run for about 10 seconds, then shut back down. I had made sure integrations are turned off. If the user right clicks the message and performs a 'Save As", they can save the file locally and open it. Has anyone else seen problems with Groupwise 8.0.2 and Office (PowerPoint) 2013?
    TIA

  • Mail and GroupWise set up issues

    Hi,
I use GroupWise for my school e-mail. I have been able to set up my gmail with POP on Mail but I keep having issues trying to set up my school's e-mail. I looked up the set up options here:
    http://www.newschool.edu/at/help/helpdesk_doc/popmail.html
I did everything that is listed. When setting it up in Mail the incoming server set up works perfectly. But when I try to set up the outgoing server it just keeps telling me it's failing to connect.
Also on a side note I would prefer not to set up the account with IMAP. That's what a friend suggested I try and I did that a couple months ago but I just hated the way it works with Mail and even led to me going back to using just online Gmail. But I did miss the nice interface of Mail so I am trying again to figure this out.
Any help would be great! Thanks

    Thanks for the reply.
For some reason 587 didn't allow the incoming server to work. But when I did un-check the SSL in advanced options it automatically put 110 for the port (which I changed at first to 587). After 587 didn't work, I tried 110 out and it seems to be working, but I'm not sure if the outgoing server is working.
Also, for some reason none of the e-mails from the GroupWise server are loading on to Mail.
I've been searching everything (GroupWise options and there Help & FAQ section, all over google, etc.), trying to find a way to enable POP on GroupWise but there isn't any option like that. Maybe I am missing something?
Also at this point even if I enable POP, if my outgoing server doesn't work I will only be able to receive e-mails but not send them, correct?
I really am trying to find some sort of discussion where someone else had the same problem as me, but no such luck. Seems pretty complicated because this should be easy to set up.
Anyway, once again any help at all is greatly appreciated.

    2. I suspect the admin service may be listening on the IP addr instead of hostname. To verify, from the GW server run:
    /opt/novell/groupwise/admin/gwadmin-ipc query
you should get something like: 151.155.136.215:9710=>Utah(/mail/utah/)
What you enter in the iMan plugin config needs to match what the admin service is listening on..

  • Mail app and GroupWise mailbox via IMAP

I am using the Mail app to access my GroupWise mailbox via IMAP. I am experiencing the "neverending cache update" problems that others have reported in this forum, without any relief (shy of killing activities that appear to have stalled).
That aside, I have a question. The folder that stores mail message that I have sent in GroupWise is "Sent Items". The Mail app has gone ahead and created a "Sent Messages" folder in my mailbox for the same purpose. While this is somewhat of an inconvenience, the greater problem is that messages that I send via the Mail app are not recognized by GroupWise as "sent messages" by nature of not appearing in the "Sent Items" folder, which causes, among other things, filters to return incorrect results.
So... is there a way to control what folder the Mail app uses for sent messages on an IMAP mailbox, such as my GroupWise mailbox? (Other mail clients, such as Thunderbird, handle this situation well.)
    Thanks.
    - GC

Thank you... I suppose I should have said it didn't "seem" as flexible.
So, that is an improvement... now sent messages appear in the "Sent Items" folder as desired, rather than the "Sent Messages" that the Mail app created. One thing that I noticed now is that the message in "Sent Items" appears like it were a message stored in that folder, rather than one originating for the mailbox. Let me explain... messages sent from a native GroupWise client have attributes such as # recipients, # opened, # deleted, # accepted, #accepted, replied#, etc. None of these attributes appear for Mail app-originating messages. Is this a limitation or is there more magic to be aware of?
    Thanks,
    - GC

  • Exchange 2010 and GroupWIse 7

    Hi
We are currently preparing to migrate to Exchange 2010. Our AD domain is w2k8r2 so we are unable to get an exchange 2003 server into the domain thus are unable to use the GroupWise connector.
So I have setup a non-groupwise domain for the exchange server and this is linked to the GWIA. I have added an exchange user to the non groupwise domain and can see this in the system address book. When I try and send this user an email I get a 550 rejecting spoofed message.
How can I get the GWIA to route email to the Exchange system?
    Thanks
    Andy

    Hi Massimo
The issue that I have is that the domain of my users in GW and Exchange is the same. So when you send from GW to Exchange GW is seeing the address as the external address so when it hits the gwia it's being rejected because it thinks it's spam.
Ideally what I need is the Exchange user to appear as a friendly name such as Joe Bloggs but for the address behind to be pointing to the internal Exchange address.
    Cheers

You did. What makes you believe it's GW causing your problem? Because it
duly delivers the Exchange error message?

  • Mail and groupwise

I recently joined a group that uses Novell Groupwise system. I have been trying to get my mail application to send and/receive their e-mail, but I am only able to get mail, not send it. Any ideas?

What type of account - POP or IMAP?
When selecting send for a message with this account, the message doesn't go to the Outbox mailbox either?
Are you also accessing an email account and SMTP server with the Mail.app that is provided by your ISP used for connecting to the internet?
If so, try selecting your ISP's SMTP server to send messages with this account which is invisible to all recipients.
