I want to make JMenuItem whit accelerator but i don`t want text of accelerator on button! Help i dont know how to do that.
I have my own MyJMenuItem I try to redefine paintComponent() method but this did not help.

You mean on an icon only menu item, or an invisible menu item? You could do control-key combinations with keybindings...

Interestingly enough, I was a Windows user just a few months ago and I was on the receiving end of this same problem with someone who was sending emails from her iPhone. I don't believe it is happening every time but if it happens even once it's a problem. Any idea what's going on?

Oddly enough, having reported the problem it appears to have fixed itself. There may be some combination swipe gesture that triggers it is all I can think because I suddenly manged to zoom my display x3 by double tapping three fingers. Took me a while to sort this out but then when I got back home I could suddenly see all my emails again. Bizarre!

Blog excerpt text but without a pic

Hi There,
Is there any way of showing blog entry excerpt text on the blog home page, but without showing the pic?
When I move the excerpt length slider, it jumps from a pic and some excerpt text, to no pic and no excerpt text (Just the entry title and date).
Any help would be much appreciated.

hi ben,
you need to delete the WHOLE pre-set picture place holder in the one entry. If you then place your own photo (in NO place-holder) it will show a longer excerpt but without the picture!

ITunes opens but without any text showing. Drop down menus have text but not the app itself. I have a Mac Powerbook Pro running Windows XP under Boot Camp.

Running under Windows XP, a few upgrades ago iTunes started opening without any text showing in the application. Clicking on PLAY will play music but no text shows to indicate what's playing and no text to show music library. Drop down windows show text but not the app itself.
Subsequent upgrades and reinstalls have not corrected the problem, When I run under iOS (Snow Leopard), iTunes opens with text and runs correctly.

Because I created FAT32 partition using Boot Camp tool few days ago I installed my custom copy of Windows XP with SP3, IE7 and WMP10 integrated using nLite (for WMP10 integration use RVM Integrator). I did not use Boot Camp tool this time - I just booted CD using Option key. Then I installed Boot Camp 2.0 drivers you can find on Mac Disk 1. After this I installed Boot Camp drivers 2.1 update. In Add or remove Programs I checked drivers - I uninstalled old drivers which call identical, but you can skip this. Everything works fine BTW it is better to format your partition to NTFS - you have much less disk errors, you do not waste time for disk errors scans during Windows startup, your data are much more safe. If you need NTFS write permissions use great tool Paragon NTFS for Mac OSX or open source NTFS driver.

It seems incredible to do a composition in Illustrator and copy-paste to make InDesign and draw all the text.
I'm using CS4 but I see in the help that CS5 is the same.

Yes, I know that I can copy the text with the text tool. Although I would like to copy / paste from Illustrator to InDesign for editing if you need without having to play through two programs.

Messages arrive without text

Hello, I have next problem:
Clients receive messages in Outlook 2010 without text in message field. The messages contain Japanese characters in subject and body. Despite subject with Japanese characters is correctly displayed, there is no any text in body of the messages. But if clients
try to open the messages in web interface mail, messages are correctly displayed with text in body. Also, same messages correctly displays in Mozilla Thunderbird.
Could you tip what could be wrong with Outlook in such situation?

I've just struck this exact issue with a Mother's Day card. I had put text on the front, but the card that arrived today has the white strip for it but no text. I too got the message about the default text but because there wasn't any default text I thought it would be okay. My question is, if I need to resubmit to get this reprinted, how will I ever get the text printed on there? Surely if I resubmit it will just come out blank again? I'm also disappointed to see the bug is this old... you would have thought they would have fixed this by now? Seems Apple are getting a bit sloppy with the quality control of iPhoto.

My 2006 Macbook won't start up completely. It gets to the white screen but wont go further. What do I have to do to fix the issue?

I was syncing my ipod to my itunes and the computer froze up. So I used the force shutdown by holding the power button. I then tried to turn it back on but when I did, it would play the chime and bring up the blank white screen before it shows the apple, but it won't go any further than that. Theres alot of clicking going on this whole time as well. The clicking had started while my ipod was syncing. I keep the computer on a cooling pad so i dont think heat had anything to do with it. I shut it down everytime I get off of it, so its not left on for long periods of time either (and i let it power down before closing the laptop).
I have pushed Alt-Command-P-R to get to the Pram, but my computer still does nothing. I've removed the battery a few times and held down the power button until the beep. Nothing seems to be working. Does anyone know what I have to do?

TutorDaddy, if this Mac is still covered by the initial warranty or under AppleCare, take it in and have it looked at. As the old label used to say, there truly are "no user serviceable parts inside." Kernel panics very usually indicate failing hardware.
I have an older iBook G4 that started developing kernel panics and like you, despite reinstalling the OS from a freshly formatted volume, they kept continuing. I looked at the crash log and saw that in each instance of panic, the last bit of code to be accessed had something to do with AirPort. Knowing that the AirPort software was at then current levels, I surmised the problem to be a bad AirPort networking card which, on that particular model of the iBook, was a very small module attached directly to the logic board. Since the computer was out of AppleCare, I broke the machine down myself (I didn't realize that there could be so many barely visible screws in one machine) and removed the offending piece of hardware. My iBook lives but without WiFi, it now sits as a more or less desktop machine needing an ethernet connection to stay connected to a network.
I do not suggest you break into your iMac. First of all, I'm guessing one would need to be able to pull off the glass and have the necessary glue to reattach it, which is not really available to us consumers. If you're feeling adventurous enough to read the crash logs from each panic, you might be able to surmise the hardware component (or badly written application or library; it can happen) that's causing the panic. If it's a software issue, remove the offending software app and see if the panics return. If it's a hardware issue, it's best to let a competent service tech qualified on Apple hardware to handle it.

White Screen of Death (text/menu won't display)

Here is my situation: I work at an insurance company and occasionally we will have items come in that are part of a claim. We recently had a 40gb color ipod come in. I was asked to check it out to see if it was still working. I hooked it up to my computer at home and found that everything still works fine other than the screen being completely white and the battery would not hold a charge. I figured that I could at least use it as a portable hard drive if I couldn't get it working. I have changed the battery so that is now fixed, I am still trying to figure out about the white screen issue though. I spent most of Saturday browsing the forums and the internet in general looking for a solution to this problem and I found several people that have the same issue.
So far I have run the ipod updater to put it to the most recent version (2006-06-28), screen is still white. I have also tried using an older version of the updater (2005-10-12), no luck either. I tried the disk mode option (toggle hold on and off, hold select and menu for about 6 seconds, then hold select and play for about 6 seconds), the screen goes white again but I cannot get any text to show up.
It will play music fine, the backlight works just like my other ipod, but when the backlight goes off, I just have a blank screen. I cannot get it to show the apple logo at all either.
Obviously I don't have a warranty as I was not the original purchaser, but I am quite optimistic that I can get it working.
Has anybody completely solved this problem yet? So far the best advice I have seen is the "disk mode" trick, but that doesn't seem to be working. I was just wondering if anybody else has had as much trouble as I have.

When you have kernel panics, the pertinent information is in the panic report.
These instructions must be carried out as an administrator. If you have only one user account, you are the administrator.
Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad and start typing the name.
In the Console window, select
DIAGNOSTIC AND USAGE INFORMATION ▹ System Diagnostic Reports
(not Diagnostic and Usage Messages) from the log list on the left. If you don't see that list, select

EPub Scanned Images without Text Flow

I am working on an ebook that has lots of complex illustrations, tables, captions. Scanning the images by converting them to JPEG is needed in order for the illlustrations and text to not move. Text flow is an option that I will not be able to offer.
How do I create an ePub book with scanned images without text flow. I did it once, but cannot remember how to do it.

Because if you read anything about creating EPUB files, you'll find that that's NOT how they're intended to be used.
For example, in the first paragraph of the Wikipedia article about EPUB, you'll read:

Make sure you're using the Reverse Proxy Plugin for Web Server, not the Application Server Connector (they are VERY similar, but not the same). The RPP knows how to handle 100 Continue, the Connector does not.
Or use Web Server 7 and its built-in reverse proxy feature.

There is no way to have it display icons only, and there is no way to shrink it down beyond a certain point. You USED to be able to shrink it by dragging, until the text disappeared leaving the icons only, but that changed with Leopard. The screenshot you saw was undoubtedly of an earlier version of the OS. Furthermore, in Leopard if you turned it off you also turned off the toolbar. In Snow Leopard it is now possible to turn off the Sidebar, but keep the toolbar: either go to the View menu and select Hide Sidebar, or press the keyboard shortcut Command-Option-S. Clicking the lozenge in the upper right corner of a Finder window still turns off both the Sidebar and toolbar.

Alert on a blocked screen but without identificating the other party?

Hi!
Anybody knows how to get an alert for an sms received or a missed callon a blocked screen, but without it identificating the other party?
Other phones had a light to warn you of an unseen event, but since the iPhone has no alerts like that, it means either you deactivate the alerts altogether (and then you have to go to your phone every 5 minutes, unlock the display, to see if there's any ocurrence in the main display) and it's uncomfortable, or else, anybody picking up the phone, even on a blocked screen, will be able to see who called or texted you!

And you're probably the one person who'd not be tempted, even by an automated reaction to the sound, to look to the screen of whatever phone beeped, vibrated, lighted, moved, whatever!
My contacts don't have to hide from others using alias, they just don't have to be shown...
I guess it's a difficult thing to understand nowadays, where facebooks, twitters and similar, make you know about somebody's day from his/her first yawn and morning stretch .
iPhone aims to take the best of all systems, but there are such simple and 'given thing' features with the other phones that it's funny why it can't be done with the iPhone; it'ss an evolution, meaning you take the best, leave the rest and make better.

White on Black without inversing the whole screen

Is it possible to have the windows be White on Black without having the whole screen inverse?
White on Black is easier for Gramma to read but she doesn't like the fact that it makes her background negative. There must be a way, I just can't see it.

By 'background' you mean the desktop picture? Find it in (hard disk)>Library>Desktop Pictures and use an image editor to invert it, save the result and choose it as your picture. Of course icons etc. will still come out negative.
