JMF Specification Updations

Hi,
I would like to know if anyone has any information on whether Sun is planning any updates in the JMF specification. Now that the MHP/OCAP specifications, are using JMF, there are many points which are being clarified in their specification. Does anyone know if SUN is planning to update any gaps in the current specification, based on these changes
thanks

So, you or I would be using JMF as a library...just link the libraries and use the API.
They, essentially, are importing the code and treating it as reuse code...so they actually are fixing, updating, extending, reusing the code.
Sun is doing the same thing, independantly of that. A lot of the code in JMC (which is designed to work hand-in-hand with JavaFX) is going to be reuse code from JMF...
So yes, Sun is planning on updating the gaps in JMF...they just aren't planning on releasing a new version of JMF. They'll be releasing it all as JMC, and it'll likely have an updated and highly modified API specification.

  • Only approving "specific" updates each month for collection

Still trying to figure out how to switch over. One thing I cant figure out as it compares to previous standalone wsus is we typically get a list of approved updates that can be installed to a particular subset of vendor machines. We are ONLY supposed to
install the updates they email us each month. Previsouly I had all these in a group in wsus. Approval was easy. Do a search on each kb in the email and apprive to said group.
So in sccm 2012 I created a collection of these same computers based on AD OU. Got that part.
The only thing I can see to do though for the specific KBs is go to All software updates, search for each KB one at a time and deploy to created vendor collection. Each month could contain numerous KBs approved by the vendor to be installed. The only
way I can see to do this all at once would be to set criteria to Title and somehow specify all the KBs on the search box but I cant seem to get that to work unless there is some special separator to use. That way it only makes one deployment package otherwise
separately I would need to do the deployment package wizard for every single KB
Does anyone do this in their env? Approve very specific updates for a collection and is there a simpler way??
    thx

Thanks Peter. That makes sense. So I spent some time on this today. Right now my old wsus server has about 200gb of updates downloaded and I would like to not download stuff that is already installed. I created a bunch of Software update groups based on
years and then for the the current year I split it out by month then created collection groups (Servers, Test, Workstations, VDI)
That all looks good. So to test I deployed the current month and for the package source I entered the location to the wsus download location
    \\servername\WsusContent\. Guessing that is correct.
So now I have all the update groups and the client installed on close to a 1000 machines. What I dont get is for any year or month I created, whether deployed or not the installed column says 0 and there are a few that show a 1 for required.
I figure the client needs to be installed but do I have to download and deploy all update groups and updates back to 2003 in order to see which clients have a particular update already installed? I was thinking I could just go through each
sug and find the updates that show Required and deploy only those to whatever collections.
Also it looks like I would need to create multiple deployment packages for each sug, one for the above collections I craeted?
    thanks

  • SCCM Query to list machines that are not compliant to a specific Update List?

    Hello,
I have been trying to create a Collection-based Query that collects all machines which are not compliant with a specific Update List. I have looked everywhere for some information about an Attribute that relates to Update List without any luck....
Im thinking one of the Attributes under Software Updates class must be the answer. Since i can draw a report that shows AuthListID with a value of ScopeId_xXxxx/AuthList_xxxxx, there must be a related attribute somewhere to add in a collection-based
query. Has anyone successfully done this? Any related information would be very much appreciated.

    Hi,
By following SQL Query you can list out the systems as per their compliance state against particular assignment.
    1) get the assignement ID
Select * from v_CIAssignment order by AssignmentID
    2) Put the assignment id into the the following query which you get in step1
    SELECT v_R_System.Name0,
    REPLACE
    (REPLACE
     (REPLACE
      (REPLACE
       (REPLACE
        (REPLACE
         (REPLACE
          (REPLACE
           (REPLACE
            (REPLACE(v_AssignmentState_Combined.StateID,'0','enf state unknown')
            ,'1','Compliant')
            ,'2','Non compliant')
            ,'4','Succesfully installed updates')
            ,'5','Pending restart')
            ,'6','Failed to install updates')
            ,'7','Downloading updates')
            ,'8','Downloaded updates')
            ,'9','Failed to download updates')
,'10','Waiting for maintenance window before installing') as [State]
    from v_R_System,v_AssignmentState_Combined
    where v_R_System.ResourceID = v_AssignmentState_Combined.ResourceID and
    v_AssignmentState_Combined.AssignmentID = <AssignmentID>

  • ISync use with specific update conduits

I am trying to decide whether or not to move to iSync with my Palm TX in order to gain iCal synchronization. My question is this: I use an online service which auto-updates a database at each sync. It is Epocrates, a clinical pharmacology database which is widely used in the medical community. As I started to set up iSync, it asked me whether it could disable many of my Palm conduits - which I fear will disable the auto-update feature of Epocrates. This may be too specific a question to get an educated answer on, so the second part is this: If I go ahead and try it and the auto-update fails, what is the process to re-enable the older conduits and undo whatever iSync did? If the process is an arduous one, I will skip it and wait until I upgrade to blackberry this year, which apparently has its own software for sync.

When you Enable Palm OS Syncing… in iSync and install the bundled iSync Palm Conduit, the following Palm standard conduits are disabled:
    • Address Conduit
    • Calendar Conduit
    • Contacts Conduit
    • Datebook Conduit
    • Tasks Conduit
    • ToDo Conduit
This is because the iSync Palm Conduit, which synchronizes contacts with the Address Book and events and tasks with iCal, 'conflicts' with these standard conduits.
Also disabled by the installer are…
    • Memo Conduit
    • Memos Conduit
Just 'cause. Seriously. An engineer got a little overzealous early in the life of iSync, and this non-issue has never been addressed. But, the fix is simple: drag these two conduits from the Disabled Conduits folder back into the active Conduits folder, and memo synchronization with the Palm Desktop is restored.
A similar process restores Palm Desktop synchronization. Simply drag the iSync Palm Conduit into the Disabled Conduits folder, and the original six 'conflicting' conduits listed above from it to the active Conduits folder, and Palm Desktop synchronization is restored.
And, with that, you're back to the point before you enabled the iSync Palm Conduit.

  • Will jmf be update in the future?

jmf only support AVI and MOV on the video when i Multiplex the video now.
in the future, will it support mpeg2 mp4 etc?
and the same to fobs4jmf and fmj.

I figure that Classic will hang around in 10.5. After that, things more and more unlikely. I'm not a 10.5 beta tester so I can't say that Classic is in there for sure, though I'd be surprised if it's not. I can say that I'd be surprised if Classic is in 10.6. I'd be extremely surprised if it's in 10.7. Depending on the level of Classic support in 10.5, I'll almost certainly be leaving my eMac running 10.4. I don't use Classic that much any more, and the eMac can handle all my Classic tasks with ease.
Those who don't have two or more Macs... buy an external hard drive, make a full clone of your internal drive to the external, and make sure that you can boot off that clone. It might be that you may want to go back to 10.4 on occasion after updating to 10.5, and booting off an external disk is a lot easier than reinstalling the OS.

  • Is it possible to create an "offline" file of company specific updates?

    Hello everyone -
Wanted to know if and how it is possible to create an offline file(.cab) of our current, company specific Windows Updates. We currently use the stand alone SUS for all domain PCs.
I'd then like to apply this file to our current image, then capture it.
Currently our image is a bit dated and any deployment of this image will then have to "catch up" to all of our updates that we deploy, (around 300MB+ right now).
    TIA,
    randy

  • Do not fire trigger for specific updates

I have a table that has a timestamp filed and varchar2 field that keeps track of the last update.
I have written a trigger that executes after update for each row and inserts the current user and sysdate into this fields. However most of the updates to this table are done to a single column and when this is the case I do not want the trigger to fire. If the update is done to any other column yes, but to this specific column then no.
Is there a way to implement this?
    Thank you for your help.

One obvious way is to use the 'FOR UPDATE OF' clause, which allows you to list the columns that are supposed to fire the trigger.
There is, as far as I know, no 'FOR UPDATE OF ALL EXCEPT ...' capability.

  • How do I downgrade to a specific update of Java version 6?

I am used MBA Mountain Lion OSX.
I am trying to use Business Objects through the web and unfortunately Java 7 is not compatible. I was able to downgrade to Java 6u65 (Java 1.6.0_65)  but I really need update 45 to get Business Objects to work. Can anyone help me with the terminal code and/or a download that will allow me to pull out Java version 6u45? (Java 1.6.0_45)?
I've been on here trying several other's codes and it says permission denied or "unable to find any JVM versions matching 1.6.0_45"
Could that mean I don't have version 6u45 available to me period?

Just wanted to post the answer in case others have the same issue. I had to remove ALL java related files in order to install an earlier version and there was ONE transient file that I couldn't find and this code worked

  • Update Retriever - how to hide specific updates?

    Hi,
while reading the System Update Deployment Guide, I stumbled upon the possibility of hiding updates from automatic downloading into the repository. As there are certain software products distributed via lenovos Servers, which I do not want to install onto our companies' computers, I would like to let Update Retriever skip these updates.
I wasn't able to find the described funcionality in the program yet. Does someone of you know how to hide those updates?
    Thanks in advance,
    mat_ban

Allan, as far as I can see it only allows me to include or not include Metadata by checkin the box in the Image Export window. I want to include most Metadata, particularly my name and copyright. There is one field where I keep my notes that I do not want to send with the photo. This is where my dilemma lies.
    thanks

  • How to disable specific updates?

Hi, I have an old iMac - 2007 - the oldest kid on the block that can support Mavericks... I am very happy about that, and actually thepeformance on my old dude improved tremendously after upgrading to mavericks... Love it.
I have one minor issue though. I can't upgrade iMovie on it because my video card is not supported. But I can't find a way to disable the update either... It keeps poping up and asking me to upgrade iMovie. Is there a way to disable this just for iMovie? I love the autoupgrades... don't want to disable it completely though.
    thanks,
    Marcelo.

Some folks report that if you mouse over the text of the update description and right click, you are given the option to choose to ignore the update. Others report that doesn't work for them.

  • How to block specific updates?

Let's say you have a particular bad update that slipped through your software update piloting process and now you need to temporarily - or permanently - block this update. What's the best way to accomplish this?
One possible answer is removing the offending software update from all software update groups (edit membership) and deleting its content from all deployment packages - but this doesn't necessarily tell clients not to apply the update: clients that have already
determined the update is applicable and downloaded content will still apply it, depending on timing.
Is there actually a way to directly tell clients 'do not apply <this> update'?
    born to learn!

No, there's no way to block an update to my knowledge.
Removing it from the update groups is sufficient though to prevent it from being installing unless you are doing this at the very last minute. Once clients update their polices (which by default happens every 60 minutes) they will see that the update
no longer has a deadline or is even deployed and so won't install it.

  • Can I install a specific update?

    Hi
Is it possible to install up to a chosen update, rather than run the full combo for 10.4.9? There are apparently issues with Logic Pro and third party plug-ins with later updates. I've just got a 2nd hand G5 which i'm loading from scratch, 10.3.5 sounds like a good stable starting point.
    Thanks for any help..
    G4 867DP MDD SD

Yes, by simply installing the combo update for the desired version. All updaters can be found at http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/. If you want to update 10.3 to 10.3.5, then search for the 10.3.5 combo updater.
However, you must install at least the minimum version of OS X that will run on the G5 model you have. Although the earliest model could run 10.3, subsequent models required later versions of OS X. You should start by installing the version of OS X on the original software discs that came with the computer. You cannot install 10.3.5 if the computer requires 10.3.7 or later.

  • Issue stopping specific update on SCCM 2012

    Hi All,
We have recently started to have an issue with KB2863911. The icon for outlook disappears and stays blue. Now that we know that update is an issue we want to be able to stop it deploying out to computers in our system.
I have read many notes on how to do this in SCCM 2012 and the best is apparently to create a folder under All Software Updates and place these updates in there. We have done this, but we still believe these updates are going out.
Can any tell me for sure if it is that this technique is stopping the deployment of these updates or anyway I can check if it is. At this point in time other than waiting a week and every day redeploying a script to remove this update, I have no way to see
if I am really combatting it.
    Thanks,
    Richard

What I am after is stopping the update going out to any more computers. All the computers have windows updates been managed by SCCM. and they are getting updates from that server so they are been deployed somehow. I am not sure how and I need to work out
so I can stop one off updates like this one going out to more computers once we have identified issues. This is not the first update this year to cause issues to computers in our organisation and so we NEED a way to manage them. This includes stopping updates
    going out that cause issues!
I am all for updates, and in 99% of cases believe they do a world of good, but when they break things we would like to say that one we don't want going out.
In this case I have a application deployment uninstalling but that is going to do no good if the SUP is going to go around and install that update again.

  • Define user specific updating event in LIS

    Hi everyone,
I'd like to define one specific event for one info structure, like the VC,VD....
Could you please tell me how to realize it?
    thanks
    Eric

It's not possible and, frankly, I don't see what purpose it would possibly serve. All the events are linked to some SD documents. It's not possible to create a completely new kind of document, therefore there is no need to create a new event.
Perhaps you've misunderstood the requirements and what you need may actually be achieved by using a formula, for example, or a different configuration.

  • What Are Specific Secnariors That Updated A Computers LastLogonTimeStamp

I want to find out what specifically updates the lastlogontimestamp for computers. I have read the other articles that are referenced numerous times, but they do not have the exact answer to these questions (there are wonderful and have lots of information,
but not the information I need). Which of these scenarios does the lastlogontimestamp get updated for a computer (given the 14 days minus a random percentage of 5 days has passed and that number is greater than the current lastlogontimestamp):
When a domain computer is restarted and stays connected to the network does this update the lastlogontimestamp?
From my testing I can confirm that the reboot update the lastlogon, but no idea about lastlogontimestamp
When a domain computer is logged onto with a domain account by logging on locally?
From my testing this did not update the lastlogon and I have no idea about lastlogontimestamp
When a domain computer is logged onto with a domain account by logging on remotely using Windows Remote Desktop Connection?
From my testing this did not update the lastlogon and I have no idea about lastlogontimestamp
When a domain computer is logged onto with a local account by logging on locally?
From my testing this did not update the lastlogon and I have no idea about lastlogontimestamp
Are there SPECIFIC events that would cause the lastlogontimestamp to be updated? I need to tell our administrators this information so they have an understanding on what Microsoft considers a stale account

    The
LastLogon attribute determines the most recent logon of user or computer account, this attribute is unique on each domain controller, it is updated only on the DC that validates the logon request and is not replicated to other domain controllers. The LastLogonTimeStamp
attribute is replicated so all DCs have the same value for the attribute. The lastLogonTimeStamp attribute is not updated with all logon types or at every logon, only interactive, network and service logon updates the attribute. The
lastLogontimeStamp attribute is not updated every time a user or computer logs on to the domain, when to update the LastLogonTimeStamp depends
on the ms-DS-Logon-Time-Sync-Interval attribute which is an attribute of the domain partition, the default value is 14 days.
The LastLogonTimeStamp is based on the value that the current date minus the value of the ms-DS-Logon-Time-Sync-Interval attribute minus a random percentage of 5. If the result is equal to or greater than LastLogonTimeStamp the attribute is updated. For example,
the value of the ms-DS-Logon-Time-Sync-Interval is 14 days, currently the user logon to the domain, X equals to (14 – (Random percentage of 5)) and Y equals to (Current data – value of
LastLogonTimeStamp), this attribute is updated if X equals to or is smaller than Y, otherwise the attribute is not updated. Therefore, it’s expected that the LastLogonTimeStamp will be 9-14 days behind the date the user logins.
Interactive logon contains remote desktop logon and console logon, users need to press CTRL+ALT+DEL to type their credential and the credential is sent to domain controller for authentication.
Network Logon usually means logon from network, for example, a user logins to one workstation and accesses a shared folder on file server, the file server will treat the folder access
process as network logon, there is a Security event log 4624 in file server and logon type is 3(network logon).
Yes, each domain computer changes machine account password every 30 days(default value), this can be changed via group policy, pwdlastset attribute on computer account is updated after machine
account password changes, it's not related to attribute Lastlogontimestamp at all.
    Regards,
    Diana
