We have two questions regarding the Sun Message Queue that pertain to
redundancy using the Sun Message Queue multi-broker cluser. Our
understanding is that each event server will run one MQ broker.
The first issue is that the MQ broker cluster needs to configure one
dedicated Master Broker. This Master Broker maintains the configuration of
the entire cluster. The other brokers may not work properly without the
master broker. This seems create a single point of failure. There is no
mention that one can configure two master brokers, as LDAP server does.
Though the Sun document mentions in development environment it is possible
to configure the cluster without master broker, but it highly recommends
in production environment the master broker shall be created for the
cluster. The question to Sun is whether there is double master
configuration available, and if configured without master broker, how the
broker cluster may be affected.
The second issue is regarding the replication in the broker cluster. It
seems that the cluster only replicate configuration information among
brokers. These include the message destination (the configured message
queue information or topic information) and message subscription (the
registered subscriber of a message queue or a topic). There is no mention
in the document that the actually message gets replicated among the
brokers. "A persistent message is both stored and routed by the message's
home broker". This sounds that the message data is only stored
persistently in the broker who receives that message. The question to Sun
is to clarify whether the message data is replicated among the brokers and
can be accessed by other brokers if the "home broker" is down.
The document we are looking at is Sun ONE Message Queue 3.0.1, which is
the latest release version.

I guess I'm terrified of shooting myself in the foot here. BE have been superb for many years and their customer service is akin to that of Ocado (excellent). If you have an issue (rare) then the people you speak to are knowledgeable and attend to it fast. You can log calls via phone or web and the site shows current status of everything important.
16Mb/s is still pretty fast, but the techy in me is begging to upgrade to Infinity for both the extra speed down AND up (I upload photos / videos and send large emails).
Do BT block port 25 or force you to use a specific SMTP server for mail delivery ? BE do, but give you a free static IP which allows you to use the mail server of your choice. I would really like to use the 1and1 servers for both in and outward mail.
If BT replace the master socket then I guess this "should" solve the issue of mine, however I get worried about anyone playing with phone wiring as it's so important to me to have good broadband / comms in the house.
Appreciate the thoughts.

CP8: Custom question using multiple TEBs / Scrollable Text Widgets

Hi,
I want to create a custom question with multiple Text Entry Boxes (TEBs) or Scrollable Text Widgets (STWs) that is compatible with HTML5.
User has to enter just one word in each TEB / STW i.e. a one line STW.
I want the user to be able to Retry the question i.e. click Retry button to automatically clear the TEBs / STWs that are incorrect.
Question is not being scored or reported to an LMS.
TEBs:
I'm assuming you can't clear a TEB so I tried using a STW.
STWs:
FYI: I'm clearing the STW using Null.
The issues I am trying to resolve are:
1. Disabling the Enter key so that the 1 line STW will behave like a TEB i.e. doesn’t move to the 2nd line, and the Up Down scrollable indicators aren't displayed.
There is a post that suggests executing JS on Slide Enter but I already have an Advanced Action associated with Slide Enter.

2. When retrying a question how do I disable STWs i.e. ones that contains a correct answer so user can't change it. (I know the Disable action won't work)

Some answers, probably not all what you want. I blogged about using the Scrolling Text (formerly the TextArea widget) several times.
In Captivate 8 you can indeed control what is shown in the Scrolling Text Interaction, by changing the associated variable. That was not possible before this version (have been begging for it, finally with success) and it is still not possible for a Text Entry Box. You can change the value of the variable, but it will not be visible in the TEB.
An interaction is automatically reset when re-entering the slide, maybe that can help you as well? That is not the case for a TEB.
Disabling has no sense for an interaction that is static, only for interactive objects (and interactions). That means that you can disable a TEB, but not a Text Scrolling Interaction.
Maybe this tip to prevent changing a correct answer for the interaction: replace the interaction by a similar looking text container with the value of the variable if the answer is correct.

Fn buttons and kernel custom questions

Hi, i dont know how i've to load hotkey modules to can use fn buttons on my laptop. I've tried with #modprobe hotkey but i get this:

New Infinity customer question.

Hi All, This is my first post so please be gentle...
I have recently ordered Infinity as it has just become available in my area, All websites I have visited state I will receive the full 40Mb download. I understand it may not be exactly 40Mb but how accurate are the predictions? I don't want to order and receive half the speed as it would not make sense for me to upgrade at all.

The predictions are actually quite conservative. Have seen customers on here predicted 27 and got the full 40.
The reason being, is that the predictions are based on something like 90% of the ports in the FTTC being active. The more active circuits there are, the more cross talk interference there is. Cross talk WILL reduce the connection rate.
Vectoring technology is being worked on at the moment which will effectively negate cross talk but it's not needed at the moment

Calendar Customizing Question (last one!)

If creating a full-page layout in Photoshop for use in an iPhoto Calendar (a custom montage, for instance), would the logical canvas size for that master image be 3900 x 3120 pixels (which is what you get when you create a new Photoshop file set to iPhoto’s new default calendar size of 13” x 10.4”)?
And should the resolution of that master Photoshop image be set to 300 ppi for maximum printing quality, or is that overkill?

You'll need to use Photoshop to add the text. However, if you set up iPhoto to use Photoshop as the editor of choice then when you're thru with the photo with text you can do a Revert to Original and get the original photos without text back. Here's how setup iPhoto to use Photoshop from within iPhoto:
Using Photoshop (or Photoshop Elements) as Your Editor of Choice in iPhoto.
1 - select Photoshop as your editor of choice in iPhoto's General Preference Section's under the "Edit photo:" menu.
2 - double click on the thumbnail in iPhoto to open it in Photoshop. When you're finished editing click on the Save button. If you immediately get the JPEG Options window make your selection (Baseline standard seems to be the most compatible jpeg format) and click on the OK button. Your done.
3 - however, if you get the navigation window that indicates that PS wants to save it as a PS formatted file. You'll need to either select JPEG from the menu and save (top image) or click on the desktop in the Navigation window (bottom image) and save it to the desktop for importing as a new photo.
This method will let iPhoto know that the photo has been editied and will update the thumbnail file to reflect the edit..
NOTE: With Photoshop Elements 6 the Saving File preferences should be configured: "On First Save: Save Over Current File". Also I suggest the Maximize PSD File Compatabilty be set to Always.
If you want to use both iPhoto's editing mode and PS without having to go back and forth to the Preference pane, once you've selected PS as your editor of choice, reset the Preferences back to "Open in main window". That will let you either edit in iPhoto (double click on the thumbnail) or in PS (Control-click on the thumbnail and seledt "Edit in external editor" in the Contextual menu). This way you get the best of both worlds

“If you purchased a qualifying Mac or Xserve on or after June 8, 2009, that does not include Mac OS X Snow Leopard, you can upgrade to Mac OS X Snow Leopard for $9.95.*,
(*Covers product plus shipping and handling fee. U.S. customers add appropriate sales tax.)”
Please inform me about this option for Non U.S. customers.

Hi Andy,
Up-To-Date programs as well as Mac OS X upgrades in general, usually function on a worldwide basis, the same everywhere at the exact same time and the same (equivalent) price too
(and this includes shipping price which should be zero usually).
So I wouldn't worry too much about your concern,
as long as you register your new MacBook Pro and duly keep your proof of purchase (bill) when you buy it.
When it's time to Up-To-Date program
(same time in the US, in Greece and everywhere else)
then you'll have to fill the appropriate online form and enter your registration date, serial number etc.
Only thing I'd personally be careful to do if I were you:
Get a wireless internet connection, in your hotel or somewhere in New York, and set your MacBook Pro there so you can register it when you buy it, just to make sure.
You might be able to do that also in the Store?

New FIOS Customer Question about hookup

Hello,
After over twenty years of cable service I just signed up for triple play with FIOS. I am very excited and hope the transition in two weeks will be uneventful! My cable company dropped HGTV and Food Network which are my two favorite channels. I work up to 12 hours a day and really looked forward to watching my shows that were TiVo'd while I was at work. After much research I hope I have made the right decision for higher quality and a significant savings.
One thing does puzzle me though. The rep over the phone told me that the FIOS after being brought into the house can connect to my cables already in the house from my old cable company. How can the quality be better than broadband if using the cables from the cable company??
Also is there a number I can call before installation to remind the installer that I have three TiVo boxes and two of them require cable cards??

You must be a Cablevision subscriber. Many friends and family have asked me if Verizon still has Food and HGTV and of course said yes.
The answer is yes, the existing coax cables are used within the home as long as they provide a good signal from the splitter to the TV. The reason the quality is much much better over Cablevision or any other cable provider is the TV signal comes to your house via Fiber Optics cable. The fiber optic cable then terminates into a box outside the home and then from there is split out between TV, Internet and Phone. The problem with the cable company set up is if your neighbor has a bad connection you can potentially be affected at your home.
Lastly the picture quality between Cablevision HD and FIOS HD is so noticable. My neighbor and I both bought the same TV. He is on Cablevision, I am on FIOS. When we compare the picture between our TV's his picture looks only slightly better than SD plus he also gets pixelization from time to time. My picture is 100% clearn 100% of the time.
I'm not sure about the cable cards. May be worth a call to support at 888-553-1555

ALE customizing question

I am studying the XI tutorial "How to create XI Content with the Integration Builder". Every step in XI is described in detail, but no details about what to do in the R/3 System.
Section 6.1 is saying that I must customize the SAP backend so that the backend system can send an IDOC to my external system. As I have little experience with SAP I do no know which transaction to use and in which order.
Please give some help.
The IDOC is MATMAS01. I have completed the definitions of my external system in the SLD. I already made a port using WE21. To do is defining the outbound scenario MATMAS01 from r/3 to External.

Why the Wait?! UK Customer question...

Ordered new Intel Duo iMAC 20" standard package, haven't asked them to change anything, and they are quoting dispatch on the 15th and delivery around the 23rd Feb.
Are Apple genuinely struggling to keep up with the demand, or just delaying to the U.K. Their website says shipped within 24 hours!

My experience has not been too good...
I ordered a 20" iMac over the phone in UK - they told me that they had them in stock NOW but as I had upgraded the memory etc it would take 10 days to get to me...
Next I hear that it won't be shipping until Feb 7th - to be delievered by Feb 14th
Now I find out that my machine is still in China and will not be shipping till 14th arriving 27th Feb
Now I am told it has been despatched but will not reach me until the 21st
If it does that will be nearly 2 weeks late - not good when they say that it is shipping immediately...
Perhaps sales levels have just been through the roof - or perhaps the delay is to try to fix the video problems every one is talking about...
Will let you know when it arrives....

I have added the new questions to lookup 'Lookup.WebCLient.Questions' and to the adfCommonModel BUndles but it is throwing errors when I access the User Information page.

Basically you need to locate the resource-bundle file in this WAR (ear) file:
OIM_HOME/server/apps/oracle.iam.ui.model.ear
(unpack it, add your custom questions, and then re-deploy the WAR)

Multiple fill blank objects on one question slide?

Hellou CP users, is it possible to put multiple fill blank objects on one question slide? And if, how can I manage them for quiz reporting and correct results?

I think indeed that you want a score for each fill-in-the-blank object, and that is not possible with the default FIB question slides. Only MCQ has partial scoring.
With TEB's and advanced actions that is possible. Also with the TextArea widget, as I explained in this blog post:

TEB's have the advantage that as interactive objects, you can attach a score to them which is not the case for the TextArea widgets. But I would recommend getting Jim Leichliter's enhanced version of the TEB's as well, so that you can control what is shown in the TEB if you want to create a question with multiple attempts. I have described a use case recently in these forums but cannot remember exactly which thread. Jim's widget is free:

Use a normal question, and do not add the score to the total score. That will give you a correct score at the end. But the total number of questions, that system variable will still take into account all questions. You'll need a user variable, and calculate its value by subtracting 1 from the system variable cpQuizInfoTotalQuestionsPerProject. Same for the progress indicator if you want to show it?

If you want to allow Review, you'll have to tweak as well. You didn't specify the version, and all those questions I now mentioned.
And my approach, since you talk about only one question: create a custom question, because you'll have total control then.
