JMS configuration on Websphere

Hello,
I want to connect to a queue on a remote server, and therefore have to define a JNDI entry representing it, on my local Websphere 5.1 Test Environment. The problem is that I cannot find the relevant forms to fill in the administrative console...
Can anybody help me, please?
Thanks.

I figured it out myself...

  • How to install Oracle AS JMS Adapter on Websphere (or any J2EE server)

    Hi,
    We have a requirement in which the client wants to connect to the OC4J JMS running in SOA Suite (Oracle Application Server 10.1.3.4).
    They are using Websphere. We are exploring ways by which they can connect from Websphere application to Oracle AS OC4J JMS.
    One option is - deploy the Oracle AS JMS adapter in Websphere and then use it to connect to the OC4J JMS.
    Please let us know if this is the right approach. Also, if so, kindly point to the documentation regarding how to install the JMS adapter on 3rd party J2EE servers such as websphere.
    Rgds,
    Amit

    While searching the knowledge base I found the following note, which seems to suggest that Oracle Adapters are not deployble on other J2EE application servers:
    Support For Jca Adapter In Other Application Servers Like Jboss [ID 1114738.1]
    ==============================================
    From the statements in documentation it may be implied that jca adapter should be deployable on any application server that is compliant with j2ee/jca. Please note that this cannot be implied at this time and jca adapter cannot be deployed on other application servers than OAS in BRM 731 due to some technical constraints. So currently we can support only OAS and not JBoss or another application server , in BRM 731. The documentation will be updated accordingly to reflect this.

    Follow the below procedure for creating a connection factory/queue/topic
    Visual Administrator->Services->JMS Provider

    Hi
    You are missing some critical jar files in your class path. It should be namingclient.jar, also please or something similar that is missing in classpath.

  • How to creat an Weblogic JMS configuration with authentication

    I have to configure a weblogic jms topic in such a way when a remote sender send a message it has to connect using some authentication. Like when creating the initial context or the connectionFactory. But nowhere I got the steps for configuring it that way. Can you please let me know what is the out-of-the-box steps for achieving it. I am using all out-of the-box tools(no foreign jndi provider).

    Simple answer, you are in the WRONG forum, this is the Application Express (APEX) support forum..

  • Problem with Send using JMS Adapter with Websphere MQ

    Hi,
    We have two scenarios using JMS Adapter with MQ:
    1. File->PI->MQ
    This works fine and drop the file in MQ correctly.
    2. MQ->PI->File

    Our PI version is 7.0 SP 13

    Hi,
    >First you need to get the Jar file ,if you are retrieving messages from IBM MQ,you need below jar files.if your MQ version is MQSeries 53x.xxx, you must enter the following JAR files in com.sap.aii.adapter.lib.sda:
        com.ibm.mq.jar, com.ibm.mqbind.jar,com.ibm.mqjms.jar,connector.jar.

    Try the following :
    1. Check if by any chance more than 1 Queue manager listeners have port number as 1414. Make sure all run on unique ports.
    2. Instead of IP addreess in the adapter config., try using hostname.
    3. Also check the website www.mqseries.net for this error

  • Simple JMS Configuration on OC4J Developers Preview

    What is the minumum required to configure the default OC4J JMS.

    What else do i have to do ?
    Cheers paul

    Hi Paul,
    I had similiar problems like the one you describe.
    I got the JMS example (CoffeeMaker) running, but had problems with my own application ( Object not bound).
    In my case, I got it running now when I only use the absolute necessary (oc4j.jar, junit.jar in my case) in my classpath
    (of course the application client xml's must contain your lookup names, but I did not !!! have to setup
    my queue in jms.xml (wonder why).
    You might try this (oc4j.jar references the required libs for jms,jndi,etc. internally)
    [Comment to "absolute necessary": of course I have a CLASSPATH which contains only the necessary libs.
    But since we are working on a framework which does not only want to connect to OC4J JMS (or EJB), I have
    a CLASSPATH containing other libs. I have to find the correct order, I guess.]
    But still my question to this forum: how is it possible that a queue is started "implicitly" (that means it is
    not configured in jms.xml). Is this desired or mandatory (Sun J2EE reference implementation does the same).
    Or am I missing something ?

    Armin
