JMS over MQ : could anyone recommend resources / advanced tutorials ?

Hi,
Would anyone please happen to have good resources for using JMS over Ibm's MQ implementation ?
I've just started using JMS over MQ.
I've read through 3 IBM redbooks on the subject, copied their "hello world" examples, and they basically work.
But sadly I've found no documentatino on real-world problems, and performaces in particular.
Some random Examples:
1. Transactions affect on performance.
Eg: suppose you post a 1000 large messages, all under the same transaction. Obviously they need to queue up somewhere - but where: the sender machine or the receiver ?
2. Is it true there's a performance problem when a Receiver uses a selector ? I hear it works well if you select by MessageId , but performance deteriorates if the selector is based on user-defined properties.
These are just examples - the bottom line being, you can't just rely on the pure JMS spec... implementation details could be important.
Would anyone have recommendations on relevant resources ?
Thanks very mcuh.

When you ask about software for creating HDR photos? a big question is whether you want special-effects-like imagery HDR or whether you want to realistically simply improve dynamic range of otherwise well-shot images.
The best way to improve the dynamic range of otherwise well-shot images is to buy a Nikon D3. For those without the $5k for a D3, Photoshop layers are an excellent solution. You make duplicate lightening screen or darkening multiply layers and erase and adjust opacity of various layer parts to achieve what you want.
Photomatrix is probably the most popular for special-effects-like HDR imagery. There is a good thread among Photoshop pros discussing HDR, with examples, at

    Thank you

    Okay,
So it is just AT&amp;T and T-mobile then.
What is the difference between month to month and prepaid? I thought they are the same thing.
For Tmobile with limited iPhone features, will this mean cheaper cost VS. AT&amp;T then?
    Thank you

  • Could anyone recommend a reliable card reader for my MacBook Pro please?

    Hi,
Looking for a reliable card reader for compact flash and SD cards for my MacBook Pro.  Would anyone be able to recommend one please?  Most reviews I've read only seem to mention Windows and I'm not sure whether they are Mac compatible.
    Many thanks, Karen

    Karen,
Hi, what year is you macbook pro?  Is it the Early 2008 one with the grey keyboard, or the newer ones with black keys?  If you have the grey keyboard macbook pro I use the Sandisk card reader:
For the newer MacBook Pro's a usb card reader works well in addition to the sd card reader built in the MacBook Pro.  They are making thunderbolt card readers now for a low price:http://computers.pricegrabber.com/flash-memory-readers-accessories/SmartDisk-THU NDERBOLT-SD-STICK-WRITER-USB/m16520521.html

  • Could anyone Recommend a good output HDMI monitor under £400

im fed up squinting at the tiny output display of final cut pro etc.. I have a very limited budget of £400 and have been looking at monitors such as Samsung and NEC that offer 1920x1200 resolutions with HDMI inputs (as i am using HDV/proRes HQ.
Any recommendations or experience with such monitors appreciated.
    thanks...

I want to get an external sound card that can output 5.1, because apparently hooking up an HDMI cable from my laptop to my TV turns it into 2.0 when it goes to my speakers. So, I want to get an external sound card that'll let me send 5.1 sound through an optical cable straight to my speakers.
Can anyone suggest a good one that works well with Arch?
Asus Xonar. They are one of the best sound cards.

  • Can Anyone Recommend Any Good Tutorials For A Beginner?

    Hi,
I just purchased Pro Logic 9 and was wondering if anyone knows of any good lessons/tutorials to help a first time user of the Pro Logic series. Im excited to get into this program and record but it is so powerful that it is a bit overwhelming. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

    I agree with JG99.
    +1 macprovideo
I've seen both the lynda and macprovideo logic training. Don't get me wrong the Logic training at lynda is ok for the basics. The macprovideo ones are excellent and go much further. So I could learn in depth how all the instruments, like the EXS24 sampler, Ultrabeat drum machine, synths and plugins work and how to use them. There are proper whole tutorials dedicated to mixing and mastering. For me and my studio buddies macprovideo for final cut, logic and now the photoshop titles has saved us countless hours and a lot of hair!

The macprovideo iPad and iPhone apps rock too!

  • Can anyone recommend good Motion Tutorials?

Like Apple has for Aperture, and similar apps. I'm looking for some video tutorials that cut-to-the-chase ... to get up to speed on Motion? Free, or to purchase. And as fast as possible.
The job is requiring that I go way beyond my limited experience with Motion, in a hurry.
    All ears,

  • Can anyone recommend some software for creating HDR photos?

I would like to try to create some HDR images but this requires software to merge the bracketed shots into one. Could anyone recommend an application that will do this? Also, any online tutorials or training resources would be useful.
    thanks

  • Could you recommend a dual phone (VOIP and landlin...

    Hi,
I want to buy a dual phone to use it for landline calls and for Skype (credit and a monthly credit). Could anyone recommend a phone that works well?
I´ve read some phones have problems either with the landline reception or using skype monthly payments.
    Thanks

Please see this for starters https://blog.mozilla.org/blog/2014/04/05/faq-on-ceo-resignation/
Brendan made the personal decision to not only step down from CEO but to also leave Mozilla. This has lead to some individuals and article writers assuming he was fired or forced to resign.
I get the feeling that you came to the (wrong) conclusion that Mozilla only found out about his support prop 8 donation (made in 2008) after he went from CTO to CEO and the board then must have fired or forced him out after. This is not true as Mozilla knew about this donation since March 2012 due to a article that was written at time. Thanks to California law where such donations require name, employer and it be public record somebody found it and wrote about then. If the board did not support Brendan for who he is then perhaps he would not have been made CEO right?
You should keep using Firefox as Brendan Eich would want that and because Mozilla did not fire nor forced him out.
In fact he could probably come back to working at Mozilla in some role if he wanted to as the Mozilla board encouraged him to stay in some capacity when he chose to leave.
Chris Ilias made a long post about what happened and the support that Mozilla and people at Mozilla have for Brendan. Was going to quote it here but the forum software does not quote very well.
    https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/994127
Oh and Mozilla is hardly closed minded as they support equality which includes LGBT. https://blog.mozilla.org/blog/2014/03/29/mozilla-supports-lgbt-equality/

  • Anyone recommend a FTP client that is suited to OS10.9 (Mavericks) please

I am wondering if anyone is able to assist please. It has been a while since I've updated my website (using iWeb) with the last time being prior to the update from Mountain Lion to OS 10.9 Mavericks. Without going into the whole background, I had use "Cute FTP" to assist me but since the update to Mavericks, it has become unusable - it has vanish into the depths of the hardrive in consequence. CuteFTP have not done any updates either so has render the software useless unfortunately. In consequence, could anyone recommend a (free) FTP client which is compatible with OS 10.9 (Mavericks).
Some people have suggested "Filezilla" but the latest version seems to only go as far as OS10.8 (Mountain Lion) and therefore reluctant to down load it. Again, would appreciate any assistance and guidance in the circusmtances. Thank You.

There are several that are good.  YummyLite is very inexpensive from the App Store.  I use Transmit.  Cyberduck is a good client and is free.
All three show the FTP server in a Finder like window letting you see what's there and going on.

  • Anyone recommends a good book for object oriented programming (advanced)

I am a college student in computer engineering (Software) and have been programming using Java for over a year. I have become really interested in the design of softwares and the "beauty" of object oriented programming, and thus would like to advance my knowledge about the topic (my university offers an advanced oop class but I would have to wait another 6 months to take it). So my question is, could you recommend me any book that covers the subject of object oriented programming extensively? (I have learned most of the oop I know from "An Introduction to Programming and Object Oriented Design Using Java" by Nino and Hosch.
    Thanks in advance

I left my macbook pro closed and when I came back the screen had a huge crack all over the screen, anyone know why this could have happened?

Someone dropped something onto your computer.
Someone pressed on the closed computer.
Someone placed heavy objects on your computer.
We can only guess since the someone was not us and we were not there when it happened.

  • Can anyone recommend a product to delete duplicate songs?

I now 20,445 duplicate songs I need to clean up. I cannot possibly imagine doing this manually, nor can I delete my library and start over b/c burning the whole thing was entirely too cumbersome to begin with. I've heard of some products like Dupe Eliminator that can do this for you, but I'm not too tech savvy and am afraid this could inadvertently delete my entire library.
Can anyone recommend a product to remove duplicates from my hard drive?

Yes, you can use the program I wrote to do it for you.
I recommend you backup your Library file first (not all the music files themselves, just the Library files in <pre>My Documents\My Music\iTunes\</pre>
Download the "EXE" file from here:
    http://home.comcast.net/~teridon73/itunesscripts/index.html#itunesremoveduplicates
It will download as a ZIP. Open the ZIP and run the EXE (teridonsitunesscripts.exe). From the menu, select itunesremoveduplicates (15).
When asked, select the Library playlist (number 1).

  • Can anyone recommend a Hard Drive handycam?

Apologies for reposting this, however my original post was misleading. I had put HD handycam (which in the real world means high def) when I meant HDD (hard disk drive).
    Here is my corrected post:
Can anyone recommend a Hard Disk Drive handycam that will be compatible with imovie 08? I've read an awful lot over the past week about the difficulties people have had compatibilities between hd cams and up to date Macs. I have also read that imovie 08 is not a particularly good editing tool any longer. If I then add Final Cut Express, will there similar compatibility issues?
Thanks in advance for your help.

I just went looking for this camera online and I don't find it. Did you mean the Canon HG-10?

  • Could anyone help me: Urgent!!!!!!!

One of our user has this issue:
Long back she has issued a check to vendor and it was not encashed till now.She wants to stop payment for that check and reissue it.Could anyone suggest how to do it.I will assign you points. Thanks in advance.

I think you issued a check prepared manually and included the said check in the migration.  Since no A/P was raised, then no payment document was generated.
    Recommended Solution:
    1. You have to physically recall the check from the vendor.
    2. If recalled, try voiding the the said check using FCH3.
    3. Raise an A/P.
    4. Pay the said A/P thru F-58 or FCH5.
    Assign points if useful.
