JMS resource usage

Let's say I am publishing messages in JVM 1 where
          I have a TopicConnection and multiple sessions obtained
          via jndi lookup from JVM 2 where the JMS Provider resides..
          If JVM 1 suddenly crashes, such that the publishing apparatus in JVM 1 has no
          opportunity to close the TopicConnection, how will the JMS Server running
          in JVM 2 handle this?
          thanks

Yep. This is a requirement of the JMS specification.

  • MDB deployement error in Glassfish - "JMS resource not created"

    Hi,
    I'm tring to deploy a J2EE application which has couple of MDBs in Glassfish 2.1. I get the following error when I deploy the EAR file to the app server. I've cofigured JMS resources using admin console but still getting this error. I've no experience of JMS, I'm not sure if I've configured it correctly. Any step-by-step guide with screenshots would be very useful, but can't find any. Please help me if you have any idea what I'm doing wrong. Thanks in advance.

  • Project Online - offline project plan prompts for date range to be entered when accessing Resource Usage view

    When I save a project plan to my local computer from Project Online and open it up in an offline mode and access Resource Usage view I get prompted with Date Range dialog boxes with the first one saying "Show resources/assignments that start or finish
    after:" and the second one with "And before:".
    I don't have any filters that are setup in Project Online that are not available in offline mode to trigger these prompts.
    Please let me know what could be causing the date range prompts. Thanks.

    Hi,
    You probably retrieve an enterprise filter into your local file. Just open the organizer from MS Project, go to the filter tab (be sure to have your project selected in the drop down menu at the top left of right of the organizer) and delete the date range
    filter.

  • JMS Resource Adapter and JDeveloper 10g

    Hello,
    I an trying to use the OC4J JMS Resource Adapter for WebSphere MQ with Jdeveloper 10g (OC4J 9.0.4). The program is just a servlet that sends a message to a JMS Queue. My orion-web.xml looks like:
    <?xml version = '1.0' encoding = 'windows-1252'?>
    <!DOCTYPE orion-web-app PUBLIC "-//Evermind//DTD Orion Web Application 2.3//EN" "http://xmlns.oracle.com/ias/dtds/orion-web.dtd">
    <orion-web-app servlet-webdir="/servlet/">
    <resource-ref-mapping name="jms/QCF" location="mqjms/MyQCF" />
    <resource-env-ref-mapping name="jms/QUEUE1" location="mqjms/MyQ" />
    </orion-web-app>
    The problem is that when I try to start the server I get the following Jdeveloper error:
    java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Unrecognized parent-elem combination: interface oracle.jdeveloper.xml.oc4j.war.OrionWebApp - resource-env-ref-mapping

    Thanks in advance

    Did you find a fix for this? I'm experiencing the same problem.

  • 'Resource Usage' field in Planner workbench

    Hi,
    Currently the 'Resource Usage' field in Planner Workbench > Item > Routing Operation > Resources doesn't not display decimal places.
    What do I need to change in profile option or preference or anywhere else so that atleast 1 place after decimal is display. In the database column this field has data with decimal places.
    Thanks

    Hi Geert,
    Thanks for the advice.
    I put '1' decimal place in Capacity Plan but it didn't work. Then I entered same value in all decimal places in all tab in Preferences, then it worked.
    Thanks

  • JMS adapter Usage

    Hi,
    JMS Adapter usage: BPEL process1 sends message to a JMS Queue.
    Bpel process2 subscribes to the same queue. For some reason Bpel process2 fails.
    What happens to the message?
    Thanks
    Nirmal

    If the consumer BPEL is asynchrnous, then the BPEL cannot be a part of the global transaction (with JMS Adapter).
    If the consume BPEL is synchronous, then the BPEL can be a part of the global transaction (with JMS Adapter).
    In the second case, if the BPEL transaction fails, then the jca.retry will happen i.e., the message is given to the BPEL instance again for jca.retry number of times, if it fails all the times, we can set paramaters such that the message is redirected to another queue...
    go to the Delivery Failure tab of the JMS queue/topic, and give the values for the following properties...
    Redelivery Limit : 3
    Expiration Policy : Redirect
    And also give the queue name where you want to redirect the message...
    Transaction in Oracle SOA 11g - BPEL
    Hope this helps

  • Capturing session level resource usage in RAC environment

    I have used Tom Kyte's runstats.sql to capture resource usage by a session in a single instance environment. http://asktom.oracle.com/tkyte/runstats.html
    The procedures in the package take before and after snapshot from v$mystat. My question is how does in change in RAC enviornment with more than one instance?
    There is an equivalent table gv$mystat which has an additional column inst_id. I will appreciate if somebody can provide me some insight.

    I wish everyone would stop using V$ objects where GV$ objects exist. Everything you write using V$ is a minimal or no value when run on a RAC cluster. However everything written using GV$ will always run on a stand-alone database.
    Just convert the code and you should be fine.
    At the University of Washington I never even teach about V$ dynamic performance views beyond the concept that they are a legacy of the time before RAC. There are about 107 V$s that have no global equivalent but they mostly related to instance recovery (RMAN).

    I haven't tried this before, but I think you need to tell Apache to tunnel t3 and/or iiop explicitly in the config:
    http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/docs103/plugins/apache.html#wp124662
    Which client jar are you using? The thin client or the wlfullclient.jar/weblogic.jar?
    If you read this section of the JMS thin client docs, it discusses how thin client t3 urls are transparently switched to iiop and http urls use iiop tunneling:
    http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/docs103/client/jms_thin_client.html#wp1026979

    Hi,
    There has to be something wrong with your import statement, also I am not sure why you are spooling the same file as writing the import errors as this will overwrite the file.
    Here is an example of a script I just ran and it ran through without any problems.
    spool on to 'C:\Out1.txt';
    login admin  password on localhost;
    alter database 'ASObasic'.'basic' destroy load_buffer with buffer_id 2;
    alter database 'ASObasic'.'basic' initialize load_buffer with buffer_id 2;
    import database 'ASObasic'.'basic' data connect as 'admin' identified by 'password' using server rules_file 'DATA' to load_buffer with buffer_id 2 on error write to 'C:\Out.out';
    import database 'ASObasic'.'basic' data from load_buffer with buffer_id 2 override values;
    logout;
    I would open a maxl window and try pasting in line by line as well.
    Cheers

    Or is it a bug eventually?
    Thanks
    Patrik

    Hi Patrik,
    What could one of the issue here is, if this box is in production and is being used, as soon as you clear the coutners, the new traffic is still flowing in, so ace will populate the new stats. if you take this box out of production then you should be able to see all the traffic gone.
    Also to reinforce my previous argument, if you happen to see the stats second time, they are reduced , which will only point that the system is actively receiving and before you do a second show resource, it would have received some traffic and it will also take into account the existing traffic flow across the box.
    Most likely not a Bug.

  • Monitor jms resource

    Ok, is there a quick/simple way to monitor a jms topic/queue. You know, just to see if any messages are in the topic/queue and how many are being sent, etc...
    I check out the docs for montoring and snmp and OH MY GOD... you've got to be kidding, if this is the only way. Not that I think this is even a way, as I didn't see anything in there that would tell me how many messages may be in my topic.
    This is related to another post I sent where I'm trying to figure out why my mdb ejb won't load. Unfortunetly I can't even tell if somthing is getting on the stupid topic, so I don't know if the mdb is loading and just not getting the message from the topic, or if the message is getting to the topic, but the mdb never loads to handle it.
    I don't want to be a broken record here, but have you guys at sun looked at how this all works in weblogic? It's so intuitive, the web console interface allows you to examine the status of any deployed ejbs, and also the status and statistics for jms resources. Perhaps by Sun Appserver 10 or 11 you guys will finally get it.

    Look,
    Sorry to "needlessly flame the product", but so far my experience with it is that nothing matches exactly the documentation, nothing really works (except thier sample apps, but no example of anything other then thier sample apps), and the only way to get answers to simple questions is to post on forums, because the documantion that comes with the installation doesn't help.
    The link you sent me had instructions on using the Admin console of IMQ. Of course, no documentation that came with the installation mentioned it. So, right off the bat I get the part of Adding a broker, and instead of seeing the screen shown in the tutorial, I get the Add Broker screen , but the textboxes are missing - you can't enter anything. So right away it doesn't work. Just another example of how evertime I try to do somthing with this product I run into a wall.
    Anyway, as far as flaming the product before I fully investigate the options, I guess my answer is I shouldn't have to spend 3 weeks pouring thru documenation, samples, and newgroups just to figure out how to do somthing simple, like monitor messages in a queue. And when I finally get an answer, it simple doesn't work.
    However, I will curb my frustration with this product and refrain from commenting on it. On the positive side, the sun employees seem to actually monitor this topic and respond frequently and quickly, which is more then I could say for other vendors such as bea.

  • Doubt on using DB as JMS resource provider

    Hi
    I am trying to use Oracle DB as JMS resource provider. I am trying to create required tables like following.
    connect as sysdba/pwd
    CREATE USER TUSER IDENTIFIED BY tiger
    GRANT CONNECT, RESOURCE,AQ_ADMINISTRATOR_ROLE TO TUSER
    GRANT EXECUTE ON SYS.DBMS_AQ TO TUSER // Hanging
    In line 3 it never completes. Looks like some lock is there on that table, But I am not able to understand what lock.
    Can anybody explain me what could be wrong. (I am not DBA. Just trying to learn JMS using DB as resource provider. I am using the DB which comes with Infra)
    Thanks
    Ratheesh

    Which database version is this? The hang is likely caused by a lock held on the dbms_aq package. For example, when a session is blocked inside dbms_aq package wating for messages to be delivered, it is not possble to grant/revoke execute permissions on that package to a different db user.
    You could try bouncing the db to see if you still see the hang.
    Hope this helps,
    -Frances

  • Can't see content of Text Column cells in Resource Usage View

    I am having an issue adding a custom pre-defined & pre-populated text column field to resource usage view ( in a pooled resource situation) in microsoft project 2013. It doesn't see how the Text column has been renamed or the content of those column's
    cells. Is there a workaround for this? Thanks
