JMS to WebService

Hi,
we have JMS to WS Scenario. I am wondering if i have to use the Asynch/Synch bridge or can i configure the JMS-Sender with the given Modules for using the XI-Conversation-ID?!
Does somebody has some experience on this?!
First i want to send back response from WS to JMS-Queue, the next step will be to send it to another WebService.
What are the steps?!
br Carsten

Hi Carsten,
In fact i was wrong its available with SP 10 (PI 7.0), take a look here:
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/de/a2/8c8d42e8ea0d53e10000000a155106/frameset.htm,
on NetWeaver 2004s its SP 19.
About the other question i think you need to detail if the requests between your WS and JMS system are synchronous or asynchronous, BPM is of course one option to combine them.

    Well i am receiving data from JMS-CC and sending it to WebService. But there is no response?! Do i have to use the Synch/Asynch bridge because we are on SP12?!
    And if i want to get the response to SOAP-Sender-CC - how do the URL has to look like and how do i implement the URL in the sending WSDL?!

  • JMS or WebServices

    Hi !
    Need to know if JMS can be used instead of webservices.
    My requirement is that i have 2 applications which have to contact each other over internet. I also don't need synchronous communication. One application is in java/jsp and other is in ASP/com.
    Earlier i was planning to use webservices (xml/http) for communication among them.
    Can i use JMS instead of Web Services ? Also, i have to use weblogic application server, so is MOM/JMS service provided in weblogic sufficient enough for full fledge use and can be used for communication between java and no-java clients over internet or do i need to use some other MOM service.
    If anyone can provide me info on
    1. If JMS can be an alternative to web service
    2. How exactly JMS works over ineternet
    3. If anyone has worked on weblogic JMS and prove me inputs on it

    If you have a hetero envioronment like this, stick to something both can understand easily. You don't have to use XML, there's no reason you couldn't just send messages via HTTP calls. Your MS asp/com stuff won't like JMS much without you wrapping some Java/JNI calls around it.
    JMS doesn't specify how it works, just what the API is; it doesn't even mandate IP; it is up to the JMS provider's to provide you an implementation that fits your network and computing model. Now most JMS implementations DO operate over TCP, but the protocols can be independent.

  • Why does BEA recommend not using JMS-backed webservices?

    Hi,
    I guess the title says it all. In WebLogic 8.1, I noticed a couple of times
    in the docs they say things like:
    " BEA recommends that you implement your Web Service operation with only a
    stateless session EJB or a Java class, and not with a JMS consumer or
    producer. ".
    Yet no explanation is given. Can anybody tell me why BEA doesn't recommend
    them?
    Thanks
    Jon

    Couple of reasons:
    1. JAX-RPC or JSR-109 (J2EE 1.4) do not cover
    JMS queues as backend component.
    2. It is pretty easy to write a java class or SLSB that
    looks up the queue and post data to it.
    3. Queue based web services typically expose one
    method in wsdl: post(Object data). Once the queue
    is wrapped, the service can have explicit contract:
    like sendMeDoc( Foo foo)

  • Need to use JMS in Web service for PUB/SUB pattern

    Hi All,
    I have JMS configured in my Web logic server 10.3.4.
    I have stand alone program for JMS in PUB/SUB pattern.
    I have Web service application with Apache CXF framework.
    Now, the problem I need to integrate JMS in my web service application for new web service with PUB/SUB pattern.
    Can any one guide me to this.
    I am trying to use @WLJmsTransport annotation provided by Weblogic. Is this approach is correct?
    And It is giving error during deployment that weblogic.jws.WLJmsTransport is not allowed as it is a JAX-WS type web service.
    I think It is creating problem with annotation parameters.
    I am using annotation like @WLJmsTransport(contextPath="transports", serviceUri="JMSTransport", queue="Queue", portName="JMSTransportServicePort")
    and ConnectionFactory with name ConnectionFactory and JNDI jms/ConnectionFactory, Queue with name Queue and JNDI jms/Queue, Topic with name Topic and JNDI jms/Topic.
    Thanks
    Thanks in advance.

  • SOAP over JMS binding

    Hi Experts,
    Is it possible to expose as a SOAP over JMS binding webservice from XI (from SAP platform)?
    Regards
    Sara

    I have similar situation.
    R/3->XI->java message server
    XI and message server exchange SOAP envelope using JMS. (SOAP over JMS)
    XI posts SOAP message in queue & in inbound case would pickup SOAP message from JMS queue.
    My question: When using a SOAP adapter, it does work of stripping SOAP envelope/ header? Do we need to handle it in xslt when a message is picked up from external message queue(from message server)? In other words how to handle SOAP message in inbound case?
    Thanks,

  • Implementing security for a webservice

    Hi,
    I am working on a services app development project where our app/service is going to serve some consumer application requests in the form of JMS or webservice requests. Please let me know what is the best solution to implement security in this scenario? I am looking for answers pertaining to authentication( validating the user/ client app) and authorization(whether the client can make this request).
    Please dont give me the links from java site , unless they are very lucid. Please ... I am looking for straight forward answers in this forum.
    ( I am a microsoft guy moved into J2EE and honestly, i never felt comfortable with the documentation in Sun site to be simple or easily understandable. [no offense intended to j2ee evangelists :) ] )

    I would start with SSL for this and build in application authorization via a handshake listener, provided the SSLSocket is exposed. But you're going to have to look at Java documentation for that, there's no point in me giving you my own version of what it says when it's already documented. I have to say that if you think you're going to get a reliable answer that doesn't cite or quote from official Java documentation, you have very strange expectations, and frankly a very strange way of doing your job.

  • Migrating from WLS 8.x to 9.x or 10 ?

    We're preparing to make the effort to migrate up from WLS 8.x.
    Our deployments include some heavy usage of Workshop, as well as JMS and WebServices.
    As such, we are faced with some real work, particularly with the workshop apps - as workshop in 9.2 is not backward compatible with 8.x.
    My question is: Since 10 is about to be released, would we be better spending our money on going straight from 8.x to 10, rather than repeating the upgrade process in a matter of months, if we were to go to 9.2 at this point?
    Is there a migration plan from bea for folks who would like to go from 8.x to 10 (skipping 9.x)?
    thanks!

    Hi,
    You can get rid of JSP version specific problems by using the following weblogic.xml file:-
    <weblogic-web-app>
    <jsp-descriptor>
    <jsp-param>
    <param-name>backwardCompatible</param-name>
    <param-value>true</param-value>
    </jsp-param>
    </jsp-descriptor>
    <weblogic-web-app>
    It will also confirm if the error you are seeing is due to JSP version differences in 8.1 and 9.x.
    Regards.

  • Netweaver Certification

    Hi Friends,
    We came from Java / J2EE Technologies, doing project on WebDynPro, Portal. We wanted to do NetWeaver Certification and having options like
    1) SAP Certified Development Associate - Java with SAP NetWeaver 7.0,
    2) SAP Certified Development Consultant SAP NetWeaver 2004 Web Application Development Focus JAVA ..........
    If any one already did Netweaver Certification, please let us know which is suitable and provide material to prepare.
    Thanks in advance,
    Lakshmi Prasad.

    Hi Lakshmi Prasad,
    I have done SAP Certified Development Associate - Java with SAP NetWeaver 7.0 last yr in TechEd.
    If u know Wedbynpro then u can go for this certification. Its course contains, webdynrpo basics, nwdi, core java, servlets, jco, ejb, jms and webservices.In my exam there were 13sections related to these topics and overall passing % was around 60. Questions were from course books itself but these are not straight forward qs. They check ur knowledge by asking indirect qs. U can have multiple choice qs n single choice. Mostly multiple choice. The course books n there contents are:
    JA100- core java and jco,eco fundamentals
    JA300 -EJB ,SAP NetWeaver Application Server Java system Architecture,Servlets and JSP
    JA331-Providing and Consuming Web Services,Java Mail API, JMS,Java Connector Architecture/SAP Java resource adapter
    JA310-WebDynpro for Java development
    JA340SAP NWD Infrastructure
    JA320-SAP Java Persistence Framework
       These books are provided to ppl who attend SAP training or u can purchase from SAP. Sharing of these is not allowed. U can also study the topics from help n sdn.
    I dnt know much bout SAP Certified Development Consultant SAP NetWeaver 2004 Web Application Development Focus JAVA but this is also more or less same.Might be there are some prerequisites for giving this certi as its development consultant certification.
    Reward point for helpful answer.
    Thanks& Regards

  • Integration Patterns

    Hi Gurus,
    Does anybody knows if there's a paper where I can find the best practices of an integration project? For instance, patterns that can be applied to JCA, JMS and WebServices technoogy. I know it seems to be confusing, but any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks in advance,
    George

    Hi Sita,
      You can find these under the namespace "http://sap.com/xi/XI/System/Patterns" in SWCV SAP Basis 6.40 or 7.00.
    These are sample BPMs SAP provides for reference.
    Here is a link to SAP doc on this subject:

  • Using the result of a jms webservice

    When I have deployed my simple HelloWorld webservice, I obviously want to write
    a client. I chose to write a dynamic client, which works fine(almost!). Only one
    problem, in the programming guide that comes with weblogic they only mention how
    to call system.out.println on the result(see quote below). But that's not what
    I want to do, I want to use the result, but how? From what I can see the resulting
    object is just a java.lang.Object. How should I cast it, and to what? The soap
    xml says:
    <part name="result" type="xsd:anyType" />
    The question is, what is it that I'm receiving and how can I find that out dynamically.
    This is the code I'm using:
    SoapMethod method = proxy.getMethod("receive");
    SoapType type = method.getReturnType();
    System.out.println("type is:" + type.getTypeAsString());
    System.out.println("value is:" + type.toString());
    System.out.println("class is:" + type.getType().getName());
    The output of the system.out's above is:
    type is:Object
    value is:Object result
    class is:java.lang.Object
    quote:
    Invoke the receive method to receive data from the Web service. In the example,
    the client application uses an infinite while loop to continuously invoke the
    receive method, in essence polling the JMS destination for messages. When the
    receive method returns data, the client application prints the result to the standard
    output:
    while( true ){
    Object result = method.invoke( null );
    System.out.println( result );

    Thanks manoj, for taking the time to help me with my problem.
    I noticed in your examples you posted in your reply that none of the examples
    are using queues. Can you confirm that there is a bug when using queues? It gives
    NullPointerException in the Servlet and FileNotFoundException on the client when
    trying to access the result queue to read the response of my asynchronous webservice.
    See the earlier posting, regarding Webservice works with Topics but not with Queues?
    Cheers,
    Mr Bean

    Hi , I am new to Oracle BPM and trying to develop simple POC. Can anybody give me some pointers on how to call a webservice whcich is based on Apache CXF/Spring/WSDL/jms as transport from oracle bpm 10g

  • How to maintain EOIO for JMS to multiple webservices scenario

    Hi,
    I have a requirement that
    how to maintain EOIO for JMS to multiple webservices scenario.
    JMS queue has multiple messages, each message has to be sent to either of 2 receivers.
    How to maintain EOIO in case, when there are 2 receivers.
    Regards
    Sekhar

    Hi,
    since messages are split between 2 webservices receivers, each would have its own SOAP adapter.
    So if order of messages in the JMS queues is M1, M2, M3 and M4 . There is a field based on which split happens.
    Say, if M1 and M3 have to go Webservice1 (will have its own mapping)
    and M2 and M4 have to go Webservice2. (will have its own mapping)
    we'll have two receivers in the receiver determination and hence two Interface determinations.
    The result should be
    M1 delivered to Webservice1
    M2 delivered to Webservice2
    M3 delivered to Webservice1
    M4 delivered to Webservice2
    How will we maintain EOIO in this case?

  • Error Generating WebService for SOAP over JMS

    Hi,
    I've been tring to create an addition web service thta takes two input and returns the sum. I was able to generate the WSDL using JDevelopers GUI tool for generating WSDL, but I notices that there was no transport layer, in thebinding that suppoerted SOAP, and the "create web service from WSDL" wizard also gave and error message:
    oracle.jdeveloper.webservices.model.WebServiceException: The chosen WSDL contains no SOAP 1.1 bindings and is therefore unsuitable for generation of a JAX-RPC web service for WLS. Only SOAP 1.1 bindings are supported for generation of JAX-RPC web services for deployment to WLS.
    This is the WSDL I created:

I've looked all over the web, and while everyone agrees that SOAP over JMS is possible, no one sems to have a working solution. One example I was able to get hold of used ant for deployment, but the deploy task failed when I ran it. Please, please help me.

  • Webservice + secured jms (Web Service over the JMS trans).

    Apologize since this post is in the webservice forum as well but since it is related to jms as well i put it here as well.
    I have a web service that is using JMS (@WLJmsTransport Web Service over the JMS transport)
    and everything seems to be ok BUt i do not know how to use this if the JMS is secured .
    By Adding security on JMS queue what other things i need to do in order for the webservice to access the queue ?
    (where i specify the credentials ?)
    @WebService(serviceName = "ASyncService", targetNamespace = "http://axyz.org/notification/v1", endpointInterface = "
    axyz.notification.ASyncPort")
    @WLJmsTransport(contextPath = "notify", serviceUri = "async_event", portName = "ASyncServicePort", queue = "events", connectionFactory = "cnfct_receiver")
    Thank you !

    The annotation you gave is for accessing the webservice but in this case it seems the webservice has to access a secured jms
    However having your response lead me to @RunAs which solved my problem.
    Very hard to find this information.
    Thank you very much for your answer !
    Nice blog as well !
