JNI support for OCI driver

Oracle documentation at:
http://oradoc.photo.net/ora816/java.816/a81354/overvw5.htm#1000980
claims that the release 8.1.6 OCI JDBC driver supports JNI, but that is not the case.
What is the status of JNI support for the OCI driver? My company is prepared to help Oracle test or even implement JNI support.

  • IPv6 support for oci

    Hi,
    I am using oci.dll 10.1.0.4. I would like to know whether it supports IPv6?
    In all forums related to IPv6 support for oci I find it redirected to IPv6 support Oracle database 9i and 10g (which do not support IPv6), but my question is whether the interface library support IPv6?
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Richa

    No, there is no support for IPv6 in any part of 10g; you need at least 11.1.0.6. See Meatlink Note 579222.1.

  • Support for Intel Driver 10.18.10.3496

    I'm trying to upgrade my driver to the latest Iris driver from Intel:
     https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=23714&ProdId=3712&lang=eng&OSVersion...
    My computer is an X1 Carbon 3443.  The new driver just came out last month.  However, when I try to run the installer, it gives the error "The driver being installed is not validated for this computer.  Please obtain the appropriate driver from computer manufacturer".
    So I checked the drivers available from Lenovo, but the latest version there is 9.17.10.2875, which is not new enough.  I attempted to uninstall the Lenovo driver and install the Intel driver manually, but the installation failed with "This operation requires an interactive window station.".
    How soon will the new driver be supported through Lenovo?  Or is there a way to install it directly that I haven't tried?  Thanks!

  • Why HP remove support for msata drives in the ENVY 15t - q100 ?

    The previous models had msata support, but the ENVY 15t - q100 (the one with no dvd drive) has the space for a msata drive, even with the screw hole but they remove the slot from the board. This is a $900 laptop, why they did that?

  • NO Live traffic support for N9 Drive app

    my N9 doesn't have live traffic report - don't understand why (my N8 had this months ago)

    Just because the MeeGo development team got shown the door this doesn't mean that "Live Traffic" is unavailable, but it does need to be switched ON if user not averse to a bit of Linux programming, although easier methods to be found over at talk.maemo.org

  • Photo 3.0---support for A: drive

    HI I just downloaded the "free" version of 3.0. I use a Matvica digital camera with floppy disks. I used to have the "Adobe business edition" and LOVED it. I'm having problems transferring my pics from floppy into a folder I can later retrieve and attach to e-mails. I have e-mail thru Comcast.net. I tried using Outlook Express to no avail. I just keep getting kicked back to my original "comcast.net" e-mail. I hope I have not confused anyone. Usually I am fairly competent with the computer...Now scratching my head and pulling out hair!!!

    Colin,
    No I have not downloaded the PSA 3 SE code. I downloaded the Getting Started PDF, but that leaves many questions unanswered.
    I have the same concern about interference with PSA 2 and/or PSE 3. I started a thread about coexistence with PSE 3 because I really need that information for my classroom machines.
    o3v3tz, "Can PSA 3 SE coexist on same system as PSE 3 ?" #, 22 Jul 2005 12:23 pm
    Jim's answer was a tentative ok to coexist, but I am still skeptical. Suggest that we track this question in that thread. Since it is now the weekend, I doubt if we will get a definitive answer. If there are no responses on Monday or Tuesday, I will probably bump that other thread on my Tuesday evening.

    Hi,
    For OPTIONAL support in 11.1.0.7.0, you need the following patch
    Patch 7600122: CURLY BRACE SYNTAX,VIRTUAL MODELS, NETWORK INDEXES AND HINTO FRAMEWORK SUPPORT
    Support for SPARQL FILTERs in SEM_MATCH is not available for 11.1.0.7.0. You will need version 11.2.0.1.0 or later for FILTER support. With 11.2.0.1.0, we recommend that you apply our latest patch set:
    Patch 9819833: SEMANTIC TECHNOLOGIES 11G R2 FIX BUNDLE 2
    All of the above patches are available through My Oracle Support.

  • When will OCI driver support JNI (not NMI?)

    I first asked this question on this forum on May 16, 2000 where I noted that Oracle8i documentation claims that 8.1.6 supports the JNI interface. (It does not.)
    My offer to volunteer engineering support to help Oracle implement or test this important modification still stands.
    Alternatively, please supply the current target date for adding JNI support.

    Robert,
    Thanks for your offer. However, our 8.1.6 OCI driver is already using JNI. Could you please elaborate how you found out otherwise?

  • JDBC/OCI driver for JDK1.2

    Hi,
    I have an evaluation copy of Oracle8 version 8.0.3.0 and
    downloaded the JDBC/OCI driver for JDK1.1 (classe111.zip). The
    example I used was also taken from this site, which connects to
    the database and lists ename from emp, using scott/tiger.
    Everything worked fine under JDK1.1 but I can't get the code to
    work with JDK 1.2
    Does Oracle provide a JDBC/OCI driver that will work with JAVA
    1.2 or am I missing something. Please note that I am not using
    Oracle8i.
    Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

    Karim,
    Openlink Software (http://www.openlinksw.com) provides JDBC 2.0
    drivers in version 3.2. This version will be hitting our public
    web site next week, but you can get pre-release components from
    ftp://ftp.openlinksw.com/pre-3.2/index.html
    The JDK 1.2 drivers are all the way at the bottom under the

  • Why No Support For HP hd7500s Personal Media Drive?

    I have a Personal Media Drive hd7500s (750 gb), installed in the equipment bay,  that my HP Pavillion has stopped recognizing.  There is power to the drive as indicated by the lights on the front.  General Troubleshooting info at this site suggests I attempt to hook it up as an external drive, using the USB connection.  Before I can, however, the USB port on the back of the personal media drive appears to have a plastic protective cap on the USB contacts; but I am wary of using any more plier force than I've already applied to remove this unsuccessfully.  So I went to this site looking for tech data on my drive.
    No matter how many different ways I enter the SKU, the model number, even the serial number of this HP Personal Media Drive, the search returns nothing.  What gives??

    Apparently HP does not offer support for this device. Seems pretty bad as I purchased mine about a year ago and if I had known HP was not going to support it I would not have purchased it....SUPRISE, I guess that is why they did not tell me!!!

  • Printer Driver Support for Computers Running Windows 8 Release Preview

    Printer driver support for computers running Windows 8 Release Preview
    HP is working to help customers have the best experience with HP printers connected to PCs running the final release of Windows 8. The pre-release time is a development period when HP develops and tests printer driver solutions. HP’s current plan is for Windows 8 compatible printers to be available when the new operating system is released to the public. HP is working with Microsoft to include drivers in the Windows 8 operating system for HP printers introduced in recent years.
    There may be a variety of sources for a printer driver/solution for your HP printer on a computer running Windows 8 Release Preview.
    inOS:
    An in-Operating System (inOS) driver is a basic driver that is included within the operating system. You do not need to download or install any software from HP. Windows 8 Relase Preview contains several inOS drivers. If an inOS driver is available for your printer, you will have at least basic print capability with USB and Network and basic scan capability with USB only (if your printer supports scanning).
    Windows Update:
    There might be a more functional or more up-to-date driver available for your printer through Microsoft Windows Update. If Windows Update is enabled, then the Windows Update process activates automatically when you connect (USB and Network connections) the printer to the computer. It searches online for the most recent print driver on the Windows Update site. If the online driver is more functional than the currently installed driver in Windows 8, the computer downloads and installs this driver.
    HP Supplied Printer Driver/Solutions:
    Although HP does not formally support any pre-release versions of Windows Operating Systems, including Windows 8 Release Preview, we may supply some full functionality drivers* prior to the official release of Windows 8. These drivers may be supplied as a courtesy to our valued HP customers through this Support Forum, though no formal support will be available otherwise. We welcome feedback within these support forums. Please check back for further updates as the official release of Windows 8 approaches.

  • Oracle VM Server 2.2.1 - support for NTFS external drive?

    Hi,
    Another "newbie" question here... we have just installed Oracle VM Server 2.2.1 on a Dell box and now we want to install some Template VM's that we downloaded. The problem is - they are on an external Hard Drive that is an NTFS drive.
    So - when we connect the drive it's detected ok - but we can't mount it as the NTFS filesystem support doesn't appear to be installed as standard?
    If it isn't - how/where do we get NTFS support into the Kernel?
    Any help appreciated.
    Regards,
    Bren

    Hi Bren,
    unfortunately as far as I know native NTFS support is in RHEL/OEL 5.4. And since Oracle VM is based on OEL 5.3 there is no direct support for NTFS.
    However there is an "unofficial" and probably not supported possibility to install FUSE and get NTFS3g to get what you want:
    Point the yum update server to OVS 2.2.1 and OEL 5.3 (on which OVS is based) on public-yum.oracle.com:
    # vi /etc/yum.repos.d/public-yum-el5.repo
    [el5_u3_base]
    name=Enterprise Linux $releasever U3 - $basearch - base
    baseurl=http://public-yum.oracle.com/repo/EnterpriseLinux/EL5/3/base/$basearch/
    gpgkey=http://public-yum.oracle.com/RPM-GPG-KEY-oracle-el5
    gpgcheck=1
    enabled=1
    [ovm22_2.2.1_base]
    name=OracleVM 2 - 2.2.1 - $basearch - base
    baseurl=http://public-yum.oracle.com/repo/OracleVM/OVM2/2.2.1/base/$basearch/
    gpgkey=http://public-yum.oracle.com/RPM-GPG-KEY-oracle-el5
    gpgcheck=1
    enabled=1
    Then you are able to install gcc compiler, which is needed for FUSE:
    # yum install gcc
    Insert the OVS Server CD or use the OVS repository from public-yum to install the develop kernel:
    # yum install kernel-ovs-devel
    Download the required FUSE packages and NTFS3g:
    http://ntfs-3g.org
    http://fuse.sourceforge.net/
    # wget http://marush.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/04/ntfs-3g-200944-el5i686.rpm
    # wget http://switch.dl.sourceforge.net/sourceforge/fuse/fuse-2.7.4.tar.gz
    Install Fuse:
    # tar -xvzf fuse-2.7.4.tar.gz
    # cd fuse-2.7.4
    # ./configure
    # make
    # make install
    # modprobe fuse
    # cd ..
    Install NTFS3g:
    # rpm -Uvh ntfs-3g-200944-el5i686.rpm
    Then you should be able to mount the ntfs filesystem:
    # mkdir /ntfs
    # echo "/dev/sda3 /ntfs ntfs-3g defaults 0 0" >> /etc/fstab
    # mount -a
    Note however, that this probably is not supported.
    So mounting the drive on a windows computer and copying the files via. pscp might probably be the easier and supported way...
    Regards
    Sebastian

  • How does a customer request new Driver support for BOE XI 3.1?

    I would like to know the process to request product enhancements/feature support?
    We are running BOE XI 3.1 on HPUX-IA64 going to Neoview 2.4.

  • LabVIEW RT driver support for CEI-620?

    Hi All,
    I am using PXI-8106 to run heavy-duty communication and one chasis holds the CEI-620 card (third party ARINC429 card from GE, formerly Condor Engineering).  Currently  on the PXI controller only runs LabVIEW RT (Pharlap) since I did not want to install Windows OS to slow the performance.  Now here it is the problem, GE does not provide LabVIEW RT driver support for CEI-620 (they do have LabVIEW RT support for CEI-830 though, but that card is PMC interface). Basically right now MAX can not recognize the CEI-620 card on the host side, and I can not deploy my ARINC429 application VI to the target PXI controller. I am wondering anybody here has encountered the same problem and develop the LabVIEW RT driver for CEI-620 on his own?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
    Unfortunately I don't have much more information to offer.  I would suggest checking to make sure you have all the correct device information whe you create the ini file.  I think you should still be able to develop a driver for a poll based device.  It should be easier to generate an ini file if you do not require interrupt information.  Make sure you have the correct identification information and try using the VISA Driver Development Wizard again.
