What is your source of information that delineates this type of post as inappropriate?
I researched this not to long ago when I thought another contributor was particularly curt in response to another similar post.
The only thing I could find that might qualify was the following @ the legal link at the bottom of the each page (http://www.ni.com/legal/):
"Advertise or offer to sell or buy any goods or services for any business purpose."
If NI doesn't specifically prohibit it I don't see the damage. These are people who need help with LV also (in a much larger way) and it might be the job that anyone of us might NEED someday.
Admittedly, that is the second post of the same content and if the unanswered questions become so full
of job postings that you can't find the posts people who need help then this would be annoying. Also NI sales reps may indeed be better suited to matching their needs to local people.
I have neither posted nor responded to such a post and I value your answers and comments on this exchange, but, absent anything prohibitive in black and white, I disagree.

  • YouTube is working again on Apple TV2 in San Diego.

It was working properly again when I tried it this morning here in San Diego, CA.  Did not have to do anything like reboot, update firmware, log-in, etc.; it just started working.  Let's hope it stays working.

As I posted on another thread that Houston, Texas was back up.
I really want to know who's bright idea at Apple to have the users to jump through all these hoops of erasing the units and reinstalling software... REALLY? COME ON APPLE... YOU CAN DO BETTER THAN THAT.
Apple you need to have better proceedures than that. How about having someone in a lab setting try testing the problem before you have users erase all the data on the unit. There goes all the favorites and wishlist settings. I can see a re-boot or power-cycle, I get that but to erase and reformate. JEZZZZZZZZZ that is down right S T U P I D!!!!
This could have been corrected SOONER, if better troubleshooting proceedures were used; instead of sweeping things under the run (so to speak). The idea is if it gets bad enough, that there were be multiple users complaining and then Apple will get off their duffs and do something. MY GOD, Apple has enough money to take care of these sorts of things in a reasonable and cost effective manor.
It's not that things weren't working or broke... that is life... but to just wait until it gets to a critical mass before trying to work on a real world problem is shoddy!

  • :) TechEd 2004 (San Diego)

I would be interested in any/all of those topics.  Unfortunetely I will only be attending TechEd in the US (San Diego).  I know that you haven't forgotten about those of us in North America, but other people only attending TechEd in the US might want to speak up here as well.  That way you know what kind of interest there is here as well.

If you have read Brian's thread on TechEd 2004 in Europe you may be disappointed to hear that he won't be doing a similar presentation at the North America TechEd.  Although we won't have Brian (our loss), I would like to try and organize something similar for the US TechEd.  Brian has offered to help out, so I'm sure I can throw questions his way to get ready.
Please submit topics in advance.  If we don't get many specific suggesions than I will talk a little about my company's experience with BSP.  I have posted several weblogs on the subject and could use this opporunity to cover certain topics in more detail.  I would also like to meet many of my fellow forum members in person.  If we can get even a few BSP developers together, I'm sure we can have some very good discussions.  Even if there isn't a particular topic you have in mind, please respond so that we have an idea of what kind of attendance to expect.
