Job RDDIMPDP Delayed

Hello !!!!
I have a little ploblem in my ECC 6.0 ehp 4 systems in hp-ux
my system consist of "2 dbs, 2 ascss, 5aps"
ploblem is rddimpdp Delayed about 40~60 seconds
when I saw the job logs in SM37, rddimpdp running in random servers every time
so, I shutting down 4ap servers, and retry cts & using tp command
It works normally, (it means no delayed rddimpdp)
but, when I start 2 servers, rddimpdp delayed.
I checked permission of filesystem, timezone, scheduled in client 000
can you tell me, what is the reason?
what can i do for fixing job delayed?
please help me !!

RDDIMPDP is actually starts all the transport steps comes from tp via different separate batch work processes. it all depends on the parameter rdisp/wp_no_btc, default you should have atleast 2 batch processes to start. if you have more work processes then obvious RDDIMPDP finish very fast.
If your system has more application instances, we can distribute to different work processes from all the application servers via message server. check the note
I could say, this is the reason, when you run on 4app servers, the job quite fast than the 2 app servers.
other work arround i could suggest to check the batch work process count or set the operation modes to get more batch work processes.

Batch jobs getting delayed

Dear all
We are running batch job for autamatic invoice after Post goods issue..
It was working till y'day and suddenly it is not getting executed .It shows a huge delay..
Batch job program was SDBILLDL
Can u please tell us what could be problem for delay in batch job execution...
Batch job status is released...But not getting executed every 15mts
How to find out which has caused delay...for batch job running...

There can be two reasons.
1. If the data or the number of documents being processed is huge.
2. If there is an error or wrong data being picked up in any one of the document can lead to batch job being slow.

SAve your selection variant after you have entered todays date in Posting Date of Goods Receipt.
you get a new screen where you enter variant name and description. Below is a field list.
find there the field "Posting Date of Goods Receipt"
scroll to the right, there is a column "selection variable", press F4 and select "dynamic calculation"
then do a F4 in column "name of variable" and enter EQ in front of "Current date +/- ??? days"
hiit continue button then enter -30 and continue

Alert with event for delayed job and long execution time

Dear All,
We are planning to send alert via email in case job delayed or long execution time.
I have followed below steps:
1) Create event Raise Event when job is delayed.
2) create job chain with STEP1, Job 1 and assign event in raise event parameter.
3) Once job chain delayed it should raise events.
4) Above event should trigger custom email but I can not put the Mail_To parameter as IN parameter. And can not be recognized during
execution.
It ends with the below error.
Details:

where will you define execution time of particular job? because some jobs will take only 1 or 2 minutes, but some jobs normally take more than hours, so how will you decide execution time of individual jobs?
i thinks you can use P_TO Parameter for sending mail, if you want to add some output log activate spool output script.

This status of each one of these Cubes is stored in a status table, that is updated whenthere is any change to the status of a request in the Cube.
The system now analyzes the requests in the Cube and compares the calculated status with
the status table.
If deviations from the status table arise then you are given the option of adjusting the

Delay in the Inbound Idoc Posting Process

Dear Friends,
We have an scenario in the Inbound Idoc Posting Process, when we process the Idocs through the standard Inbound Program - RBDAPP01, we face the delay of 3hrs to 12 hrs, approx.
When we try to re-process the same through the manual process, we could successfully post the Idocs, immediately.
When the same happens, through the background job - the delay is happening.
As we see, there is no problem with the program - RBDAPP01, but can't able to trace the delay in the process.
Any suggestions / advises are welcome.

Hi Prasanna,
The update will happen only if a value already exists with the same unit of measure in the system. If the quantity is left blank in the system and if you are trying to update, the update might not happen. Even if the value is Zero in the system, provide the same unit of measure as the data used in the BAPI.

Background Execution of Jobs

Hi Friends,
I am trying to execute a job in Background. I scheduled it to run immediately. However when I checked the job overview, my job was being delayed because there was some other job running. After that job ran, another job started and mine was still being delayed. I want to know whether is there any way by which I can find when the background sceduling will have an empty slot. Also can i find out the time at which all other jobs are scheduled to be run?

Job status 'Released'
If a released job is delayed, it may not start for one of the following reasons:
a) There are insufficient free background processes.
To start a job, the system requires a free background work process. You can choose the 'Active' tab in transaction SM37C to check which jobs were active when your job should have started.
Note 923228 greatly improves the throughput of SAP background processing because, when each job ends, it informs the system that its work process is free.
b) There are insufficient dialog processes for the scheduler.
Time-controlled or event-controlled schedulers require a free dialog process. If an instance is occupied by several RFC calls, for example, the scheduler cannot start. You can use transaction SM61 to check when the time-controlled or event-controlled scheduler last ran.
c) The target server is no longer active, or background processes are no longer available. A job will never start if its target server is no longer active, or if there are no background processes available on the target server.
d) The scheduler is deactivated.
The time- or event-controlled scheduler has been deactivated in transaction SM61. In this case, the system writes entries into the system log every minute.
e) Entries are missing from TBTCS or BTCEVJOB.
Each released job must have an entry in table TBTCS (time-controlled jobs) or BTCEVJOB (event-controlled jobs). Otherwise, a released job will not start. You can display inconsistencies between the background processing tables by calling transaction SM65 and choosing the menu options 'Goto -> Additional Tests'. If inconsistencies occur frequently, report the problem to SAP Support

Issue in periodic jobs monitoring

Hi Guys ,
i have created a program for monitoring periodic jobs. out of list of some 120 predefined periodic jobs if the job is not released (Status S in table TBTCO) then send a warning mail with details of the jobs.
this program is set as a daily job. now problem is that when my program runs through job then it sends some jobs in mail though they r released...while manually checking in table TBTCO i found 92 jobs are in released status but if checking after 5 mins its showing 91 jobs in released status....can any one know why these periodic jobs status behaves randomely... is it like if periodic job is delayed then its status is not released...or do any one have any idea regarding this abnormal behavior???

It is my select query hitting at a particular job changing it's status for released to Ready/Active in which the difference might be in Micro/Nano Seconds this has caused the job monitor tool output showing the relevant job as Not Released... Thanks guys for being patient enough to a query which might be insufficient in getting ur minds work...

Tp process - job RDDFDBCK

Hi there,
We have a TMS problem.
The import queue of QAS is with status "running" (icon truck), but it doesn't have nobody transport being executed.
tp system log:
WARNING: System QRP. Warning. 20080318161835 :
WARNING: Background job not running properly. Function: Q Jobcount: 1330
Please check the system. Use transactions SM21, SM37, SM50.
Anybody knows the RDDFDBCK job?

There are lof of RDD* jobs (RDDFDBCK is one of them) will run shen u start any import depending on your import step.
That totally depends on th job RDDIMPDP job to execute those.
So check your system has sufficent Backfround process to run these RDD* jobs.
If u have sufficient WP's then reimport the request.
To reimport got import monitor and right click on the TR say Delete, it will delete the currently used semaphors for that TR.
and check entried in TRBAT and TRJOB tables if there are entries available then delete those entries and start ur import again.

Delays in sm37

Hello BW Experts,
I am observing lot many delays in various jobs in our BW Production system.
Around 300 to 400 jobs are getting delayed by 900 to 2600 seconds over past week.
Out of which around 100-200 jobs are delayed over 2000seconds.
And on some odd days these delays went up as high as 7500 seconds. Like 80 - 100 jobs getting delayed by 5000 to 7500 seconds.
These delays some or the other way hit our SLA with client.
I just wanna ask is this a serious issue to be looked upon on priority. If yes please give your suggestions and if possible any reference to OSS notes.

I am not sure by upgrading patch to over come this issue. As your jobs system jobs and data load jobs get getting delay 1000s of seconds means it is due to Unavailability of the work processes and load balancing ( it can be done if you have multiple App.servers), you can check in SM50 for availability of the processes to run your job or try by scheduling the jobs on sequence and based on priority. it may reduce some how but it will not incease overall performance of the system.

Start the program RDDNEWPP once in every SAP System. Do this as user DDIC in client 000 and in all clients that are used as the source or target for a transport. tp can then start the background job RDDIMPDP in every SAP System if it is needed to perform a transport (export or import).

Jobs running in parallel

Hi every body
I have scheduled a job to be executed every 5 minutes.
The problem is that when the job is delayed two instances of the jobs are running in parallel and I want to avoid this, only one instance of the job can be running.
How can I do that??

There is a couple ways to handle this. One is to use a lock object for the program. You can put this code in the start of the program, and any time it is executed it will perform a ENQUEUE, which places a lock on this program. Then if it is executed again while running, the program will simply end without doing any further processing.

I am unable to understand "Job has exceeded its latest start date" meaning. Can someone please explain the cause of this cancel.

Hai,
Meaning for "Job has exceeded its latest start date" is job was put in delay, jobs are kept in delay status when the system does not have enough background work process or resources. In this case the jobs in delay with the setting 'No Start After' will fail if the time exceeds the limit set in 'No Start After'.
If you do not set this 'No Start After' then job will start when there is enough resources.
You can see this condition when you double click on the job and look under 'Job start' column.
If you still want to run the job you can remove the 'No Start After' condition from the job.

Temporary error "A Crystal Reports job failed because a free license ..."

Hi all,
We coded with VS 2003 a .NET 1.1 application which using the Crystal Report 9 Redistribution package .NET ready to display reports from measured data from our device. The data is stored in a SQL Server 2000 MSDE. Crystal Report has his own DB connection to the SQL server to read the data to display the report.
Our application runs well on approx. 100 distributed installations. But on six customers installation we get this error. Actual on two customers PCs using the same DB we get the error "A Crystal Reports job failed because a free license could not be obtained in the time allocated.". This error pop up every time, when the report is shown. Although the report get shown completely.
I observed in the 'Windows Event Viewer => "System" log after the above-mentioned error following entry "Crystal Report job was delayed 2 (sec)." once for every time when the user requested a report.
I restored an empty DB on customers PC and the error don't pop up anymore.
All CR .NET assemblies have the version 9.2.3300.0. I tested also the "CrystalReportNET_keycodefix.zip", but it doesn't help. I had checked for hours all the issues about this error message on the internet. I tested the most fitting solutions, but not one fix the problem.
I tested customers full DB on my Virtual Machine with same installation, but I don't get the error.

Thanks for your answer. I checked all the things you asked me to do on both system. 
 
Here are the results from my investigations: 
 
1) The keycode.dll was not on the not working PC. 
I copied it to the root of C: as on the working PC. I registered it with regsvr32.exe and tested the issue. 
=> The problem still exist. 
 
 
 
2) I compared the keycode on both system:

The code is different in comparison to the working PC, because I carried out the 'CrystalReportNET_keycodefix.zip'. Before this I made an export of the above registry key. But I tried to install SP7 on my PC and on customers PC, but I got following error after I accepted the license agreement in the setup.exe: titlebar of window 'Information', Msg: 'Failed to create Backup folder -110' and just a button 'OK'. I got into an infinit loop and I could only end the process: 'IKernel.exe'. 
Remark: I get the same error with SP5 and SP6.

Please specify the more detailed, if you mean the Crystal framework files or the .NET files. Could you give me please the location of the framework dlls and database client dlls like a folder name, so that I can check also all of them.
