Jobs in DS management console

Hi All,
in the BODS 4.0, DS Management Console,
Is there a way to limit the number of jobs that are visible to the Admin who logs in?
Currently we have around 400 jobs in the system. and the Admin team would like to limit the number of jobs that is visible to them. Is there a way to show say 10 jobs to a particular user in the admin team?
Regards

Hi Deepesh,
You Cannot restrict at Job Level you can only restrict at "Repository Level" in BODS 4.x.
If You want to restrict at Job Level then you have to create Specific repository for Domain Specific like Sales Repo, Finance Repo etc..
Thanks,
Daya Jha

  • Configure a job server in Management Console

    Hi,
Is it possible to configure a job server in the management console. Without having to install the Server Manager in the remote Server.
Please let me know about this.

Assuming you are using DHCP, you can setup the option for DNS servers--although, I don't believe you can configure a preferred and secondary server. You just add them to the list. From the DNS perspective, you can configure the Novell DNS server as a primary server and then slave the unix dns zone to the Novell DNS server. On the Novell side, you would need to make sure that the query filter under the control lists is allowing the UNIX server to make queries. Not sure if this is what you are looking for exactly, but I hope it helps.

  • Cannot start job with Management Console

    Hi,
The Management Console displays the status of batch jobs started with DI Designer, but when attempting to run a  batch job via the Management Console nothing happens.
The execute command displays "Job started successfully", but does nothing.
    Any ideas would be appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Meet

    Hi Meet,
Do execute the job again from Central Management Console and go to following path
    C:\ProgramData\SAP BusinessObjects\Data Services\log
Here in the log folder you will find those many number of folders with job server names as there are job servers in your server.
Go to the respective job server folder(which is used to run your particular job).
In this folder you can find, all the repository folders associated with that job server.
Go to the respective repository in which you have the job.
Here comes the best part.In this repository folder Data services created 6 files for every job execution, which are
    ERROR_DATE_NUMBER(.txt,and .idx)
    MONITOR_DATE_NUMBER(.txt and .idx)
    TRACE_DATE_NUMBER(.txt and .idx)
Open the trace.txt file which has been created recently.(check date and time after running your job).
Now this file will tell you whether the job has been executed, started and stopped due to some error or never executed.
    Case1:
If there's a trace.txt file then job had started
    Case2:
If it executed successfully then you will find the start and end time stamps in the trace.txt file.
    Case3:
If there's an error, open the recent error.txt file, you'll find the error log!!
Hope this will help you. Do update the status of your issue!!

  • Job option in the Enterprise Manager Console

    Hello,
I had just installed an 9.2.0.1 oracle db. In my Enterprise Manager Console, i don't see the job and event option like the documentation shows it. Can anybody tells me how to have these options in my Console ?
    Thank's in advance

Log into the OEM Console as the SYSMAN account. Click the "Manage Administrators" selection from the "Configuration" Menu. Select your ID and click the "Edit" button. Click the "Access to Job System" and "Access to Event System" check boxes, and click OK.
Refresh the OEM session under your ID and you should see the "Events" and "Jobs" branches of the Navigator tree.

  • Passing values to global variables while running job via management console

    Hi All,
I have a requirement, where I have to use HANA view with input parameters as source. I am doing the same by placing the HANA query for view with input parameters, in SQL transform and assigning values to placeholders using global variables. This is working fine at the designer level.
But where I am stuck is, it possible to pass values to global variables while running job in Management console or in a third party scheduler. Should I do any changes in the batch job to achieve the same ?
Please help me with the same and also let me know whether my approach of using Global variables to assign values to input parameter of HANA view is right?
    Thanks,
    Deepa

Select Batch > Batch Job Configuration > Add Schedule and Expand the Global Variables section in the Schedule Batch Job tab. You can then specify a value for all your global variables.
Alternatively, work with control tables and assign values to the global variables in an initialisation script.

  • BO4 - Lifecycel Management Console to export all content via scheduled job

    Hi,
We wish to export the entire content of our repository to a lcmbiar file via scheduled job every week.
Whilst could do this manually, want this to be a periodic refresh.
The purpose of this is to have a developemnt system which has the content of the production system as of a week ago.
So would want this job to be dynamic, exporting entire content including any new content on weekly basis at week-end during quiet time on servers.
Anybody know if this can be done via lcmbiar file automatically?
I'm thinking say sales folder week 1 10 reports, week 2 somebody creates another 2 reports, would want lcmbiar file to automatically pick up the new reports which have been added in week 2.
Is this possible via lifecycle management console?
Can't simply export cms database to development system as contains the production host embedded within it and don't want the development system to have reference to the physical production host.

  • Oracle 10g Enterprise Manager Console bug?

I think I have come across a bug in the Oracle 10g Enterprise Manager Console. If I go into my database, then into the schema, select your schema from the list, then tables. Now once your in your tables, find one that you know of and know fairly well, right click it, and select the show dependencies. A small window will open with just that table and its tablespace and user. Select user, database name, profile, then default. If you right click on the "default" and select "show dependencies" a blank blinking window will open and stay stuck in an infinite loop until you kill the application window. I think that this is a cumbersome tablespace issue. Any thoughts?

  • Edir OU Objects Don't appear in Management Console

    ZEN ESM Ver 3.5.0.154
I have created OU in Console One and created a Group so I can publish Policies to the group to reduce administration. The OU does not show up in the management console. I have tried rebooting, syncronising and loggin into the OU as well, with no luck.

    Hi there,
With build 3.5.177 almost all of the issues you described are solved. The eDirectory integration part was greatly improved - I also suffered the issues you described in the previous releases, and you had to re-create the directory configuration in order for the new eDir objects to show up. Novell client is also not required anymore - pure LDAP communication.
As for encryption, I understand your pain as I passed for the same situation. The encryption filter driver is now improved and you'll not notice any impact on performance once you enabled it. Previous requirement for encrypting only non-system volume was almost unpracticable as no customer that I know of had more than one partition on their laptops.
In summary, I think it's worth to take a look.
We are here to help if any issue arises.
    Good luck,
    Daniel

Sorry it's been a while but gave up after Novell tech sup informed me
that this was an issue in what was the current version at the time.
Groups that are created before the install of ESM show up and can be
published to, however, after ESM is installed if you create OU in NDS it
never shows up. Tech supp said this was an issue they hoped to resolve
in future releases. Besides this issue the data encyption had problems
as well, once the policy was published with data encryption dir the PC
utilistation went through the roof, again a bug confirmed by Novell.
There answer to this was a change that created bigger problems for our
company, you could only publish encrypted data dir to non system
volumes, however all our PCs in our company only have one partition.
Too big a job to create additional partitions to support this change.
I was using 3.5 ir5 when I experienced these issues.
I am querying this with novell since there seems to be an IR6 version
now. I doesn't show up on our product list yet. When it does I have
been tasked with testing it again to see if the bugs are out of it.

I did that as well, but it doesn't change the error message beyond the IP address which is refusing the connection:

  • Problems loggin in Oracle Enterpirse Manager Console

Hi. I installe oracle 9i and managed to setup a development and OEMREP databases and successfully logged into the Enterprise Manager Console. But after a few days, out of the blue, I can't login anymore.
I'm getting the following error msg:
    "The exception (oracle.sysman.emSDK.client.omsClient.ClientException) ocurred"
Did anyone encounter the same problem?
    Any ideas?
    Thanks!!

This has happened to me many times. First look at the node status in oem, probrobly is stating that it is out of sync. Even if it isn't save all your jobs to the library. Delete the node. Then on the solaris side
shutdown the agent, delete the *.q files out of the $ORACLE_HOME/network/agent directory, then restart the agent. Now back on oem rediscover the node. You should then be able to resubmit the jobs from the library.

  • BODS Management Console link in WEBI Report

    Hi All,
Need help, can we create a link for BODS Management Console in WEBI report ? Is it possible? I created one but it is not working for me. Ideally, when we click on the link, it should take the user to the login page of Management Console but that is not happening.
    Please suggest.
    Thanks,
    Purnima

It worked Sathish. Some server issue earlier I guess. Thanks Much .
    Have a few questions :
    1. Is it possible to create a link, in WEBI, to a document (.txt file) which is stored on BODS server?
    2. Does BODS store error and warning description in BODS system tables? I know that it stores error log file path but I am not sure if it stores error description anywhere.
    3. AL_SCHED_INFO table contains Job Scheduling information. But does this table contain the next scheduled time anywhere in this table?
    Please help.
    Thanks Much,
    Purnima
