Has any one worked on jobwork scenario(sending for additional works polishing,painting ect from a manufacturing plant).....What is the sd configurations required to map the process?

In case of Job work by the company, den you can follow the below route-
Settings:
1. Activate Split valuation for the materials and maintain two valuation types for material as job stock & own stock
Process:
1. Create Goods Receipt through MIGO with 501 movement type and receive the stock under job stock valuation.
2. Issue the material to production through MB1A with movement type 201 if you are not using the PP module.
3. Generate Production either normal or through Production route.
4. Create JW sales order for Finish goods with job charges + service tax & sales tax if applicable.
5. Create PGI
6. Create Billing
7. Create Excise Invoice with 0 value if the plant is excisable.

Hi all,
For manufacturing scenario we have biling doc. & the exc.inv. no. ,
exc.inv will be used by FI personel for CST/VAT filing,
Where as for service scenario we got billing no.(different no. range to manufactrng)
here FI personel objects filing with reference to billing no.
Do we have got inv.no generation option for service bill (like for manufactrng)?
or billing doc. is the only refernce?

Service billing wll not generate any excise invoice.
service is only applicable for Service tax and not VAT/CST. Please check the legal tax systems with respect to client country.

Goods Receipt, Goods Issue

In jobwork scenario, i have to receive the material in metres from customer and i have to do GR, suppose customer is sending 100 metres in that 1st Piece is 60 mtrs, and the 2nd Piece is 40 mtrs.
How to do GR?? i need both Metres and Pieces??
Here in MIGO screen iam finding only the place where i can get metres, should i go for customization or otherwise i will be getting in the standard SAP itself??

I suppose that you want the material can be measured in two measurements, one is Meter, the other is pcs.
i think you can set this in the material master data.
but, firstly there must be the transfer rule between meters and pieces against one material.
for example, 1 piece = 4 meter and so on.
in material master data MM02, you can go into additional data, and then into units of measure, and then set the transfer rule between meter and piece.
when the rule is set, you can use both two measures in the production orders and SO normally.

Sale of suncontracting service : Role of MM

My client provides subcontracting service. For this purpose the customer sends his raw material to clients premisis. Client does all the manufacturing & sends finished goods to customer with service charges for processing.
My question is
1 .Will I have to create a Raw material code in clients SAP sys for the goods that customer sends.
2. If yes , what abt accounting & inventory implications.
3.There will be no PO , so how will i recieve the material.
4.What if the goods are excisable as per excise?

the scenario ur talking of is the jobwork scenario ,
the steps will be as follows
1. Define your customer materials (both component and finished product) as non valuated material, because these materials not effecting the our inventory.
2. create Bom for finished product.
3. Create sales order for service charges with reference to your customer PO.
4. Receive the component from your customer through 501 E (with out po sales order specific).
5. Create Production order with reference to sales order through MRP or manual.
6. confirm the production order and receive the
finished product.
7. Delivery to customer as in normal sales process.
8. Then create performa invoice or billing to your customer.
Please maintain the customer excise challanas manually or you can develop z development for tracking purpose

Trading with Sub-Contracting Scenario

Dear All,
I have one requirement of Traded Material Scenario, where the material is delivered by Sub-Contractor directly to Customer.
The details are -
Sub-Contractor delivers material A to customer.
The material A has BOM maintained, where component B is maintained in the BOM.
My company purchases B from another Vendor & which is again directly supplied to Sub-Contractor. Sub-Contractor processes the component B to manufacture material A & delivers the same to my Customer.
The following issues need to be addressed -
1) Item category is L in Sub-Contracting, where as it is S in Third Party scenario. How can I have two item categories in same line item of Order.
2) Excise paid by Vendor (supplier of component B) can be availed by Sub-Contractor as set-off & I have to debit the same to Sub-Contractor, as payment to Vendor for component B is done by me.
3) Excise paid by Sub-Contractor is to be inventorized at my end (as it is cost to me) & can be availed for set-off by the customer.
Can anybody has any input for this?

I think this process was earlier called as 52 A operations.
This is what we had done 52A did not have requirement of jobwork challan)
1: Create the Subcontractor' Location as a "non excisable-Plant " in SAP.( The subcontract vendor was supposed to maintain his own excise records)
2.PO for raw material /Component will be raised from Subcon Plant .
3.The Excise in the PO will have to be configured as a Condition similar to VAT Deductible(so that during MIRO it is sent to another GL account for tracking and further FI-debit note to recover from jobworker )
4. The Production of the Main FG can be shown by Subcontracting PO .
5. There has to be another Virtual Plant ( A RG23D registerd depot normally) which will depict your companys local office near the Subcontractors Location , as the Final SALES Invoice should be from your companys Name.
6. Goods will first be sent by a STO to this Virtual Plant , here in This STO you can also add the Excise Duty condition types for Inventorization purpose.
7. Create Sales Invoice (and if RD23D then Depot invoice) from your Virtual Plant .( Excise invoice will be created by the subcontracting vendor , against which your customer can claim Modvat)

How to configure jobwork process in Co

Hi,
In our business process in one of operation we need to send the material to jobwork and client want to track that amount and want to include in cost rollup?
In out scenerio, first two operations will be held inside and third operation will be sent to vendor, after it returns to company 4th operation will be happend again in company.
Some times company will pay the amount based on fixed charges and some times based on activities performed.
And how to configure this scenario in costing.

I hear you describing a process that SAP calls External Processing.
We used it in one plant years ago. the operations list in the Routing included steps for work in internal workcenters and one step was done in a work center that represented an outside process.
The operation had control key PP02 Routing/Ref. op. set - external process
For that operation - the details have a section titled: External processing.
This included fields for :
Purchasing info rec.      Purch. organization    0610
Material group
Purchasing group
Vendor               120945
Plnd delivery time   10 Days
Price unit           1                 Cost Element         513051
Net price            0.48 ;
I don't remember all the details of setting it up, it did cost correctly though
Issue - the PO were not always correctly recieved, make final settlement of the production order an issue and we were not able to CLSD the order because of open PO on the Production order.
Issue - the material was not trackable (could be the way we did it, may be something to do about it) but when the External operation was reached, the Production stopped, the material went out and waited for the return. The material at the vendor was part of WIP not a stock item in a separate location.
Because of these two issues, we discontinued the practice and changed to standard subcontract (Spec Prc KEy 30) with a separate material number for the material that went to the vendor and a different number for the material on the purchase order that was returned.

We are doing Job Work to Customers, in this case Customer is sending their material for job work, we undertake job work and finish whatever they asked and send the material back to them along with the scrap.
How do we map this scenario in SAP

We have exactly the same requirement as yours for Job Work.
We receive major Raw material from our customer and then this Raw material is converted to finished goods. However we use some of our mateial which are used for this conversion process.
We also produce our own finished goods alongwith we want to produce the same FG for as Jobwork as we have unutilised production capacity. Currently we use receipie for processing Production order by which the raw materials automatically get consumed.
Here we need to send the Jobwork FG to again the customer and only Charge Service Charges for this conversion.
Hope by this time you would have configured this Jobwork process.
Please can you share the detailed whole configuartion with me, it would be of very great help.

Consider a Scenario where the customer is sending the Material for EXAMPLE- Tiles from Europe,which needs to be Polished & we are sending them to get polished & after polishing we are sending them back to the customer .
Kindly let me know the process flow ,how to map in SAP.
What will be the Movement type used in both While Inwarding the Material & While Outwarding the Material ?Also while sending the material for polishing the Material code is supposed "A" & while sending it back to the custmer the Material code is "B". What will be the configuration with tax Structure & Excise Structure ?.

This you can configure this way,
1. Create a new order type for jobwork
2. craete two materials for this scenario one material for inword one material for outword.. to bringing the customer material inside we need to treate as customer returns, so craete two materials and bring first materila with Ren item categry 351 movement type..it should not relavent for price and billing..
3. after creation of REN dellivery for first material
4. goto change mode of sales order and enter 2 line item with other material(outgoing Material code) use item category as normal Tan and u can maintain pricing delivery and billing..

Logical System in IDOC-XI scenario

Hi,
I need help to understand few things in IDOC-XI scenario, could any one help me in this regard.
we use Adapter specific identifiers to map services, we have following type of identifiers 1) Sys.ID & Client No. 2) Logical System.
my questions are
a) Are we use Logical System in B to B scenario ?
b) Are we use LS in reference to the SAP system or Non SAP system ? if a non SAP system....how a non SAP system send an IDOC and why a non SAP system receive an IDOC ( conversion is possible in XI ) ?

Logical systems can also be used for SAp sytems wich are not installed yet as a virtuall placeholder.
a) yes. if on of your business is a non sap system or a propritery system that you developed yuo'll ue LS.
b) non SAP system can send and recieve IDOCs. so it's possiable to get an IDOC from a system and turn it into an RFC for SAP or get an IDOC from an SAP system and then turn it into something else for another system.

Step 1
Work order issued to a contractor ( contract includes Service and Material from the contractor) - Service being the labour part
and Material being the cement
But cement is supplied by the client as a sale of cement at a basic price agreed between the two parties.
Eg:
There are 2 WBS
WBS 1 - has a PR released converted to PO with value 100 ( inclusive service + material)
Material procured through me51n , Me21n - GR done and stock has come to GNST ( 40 rs)
material converted to sale order stock mb1b - 412 E after creating sale order with reference to WBS 2
WBS 2 - reports cost incurred for procurement ie; 40rs
Actual booked against WBS1 based on GR 100
Once the billing is done for rs 20 ( basic price) report in budget actual variance shows as below
                Budget    Actual    Variance
WBS 1      200          100          100
WBS 2                       40           -40
Report should show 120 as the project cost rather than 140 - since 20 is lost against selling at lower cost.
How to get the cost to 120 which is the actual cost for the work

Possible to do if/then scenarios?

I work for a large company that has many sales branches throughout the US (40+). Each branch has a MPLS circuit and a local ISP. We have prioritized data that is sent over the MPLS circuit, and all other data over the ISP, with failover configured for either circuit to fail over to the other one. Right now all of the sales branches internet traffic (along with all non-priority traffic such as email) comes back thru the ISP (via a VPN tunnel) to our main location, so we can monitor the internet links. We would like configure the normal internet traffic to go out the ISP directly, but still have the email and so come back via the VPN tunnel. We know how to configure this, however, when we do this we would like to install a PC with some monitoring software on it (surf control), that way we can still monitor the internet traffic. We would like to set it up so that if the PC with Surf Control goes down, that the router will send traffic back over the VPN tunnel or MPLS traffic. So the basis of what I want to do is:
If PC Goes Down = False, Send Traffic To PC
If PC Goes Down = True, Send Data To VPN tunnel or MPLS circuit.
Is it possible to do such a scenario?
We do not currently have the budget for a pix or anything like this, so we are trying to figure it out. I have attached a very basic diagram of the basic network configuration that we have. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Also we do have a Ciscoworks LMS 2.6 available as well if that would help at all.

Using a variable in the call scenario

I´m using ODI 10.1.3.6.8.
I´m calling the scenario as follows:
./startscen CENARIO_PRINCIPAL 001 GLOBAL -v=5 GLOBAL.EVENTO=12345
This is my CENARIO_PRINCIPAL within it calls two scenarios using the global variable GLOBAL.EVENTO.
When I ran, appears the following error:
"java.lang.Exception: Specified variable not found in the Repository: GLOBAL.EVENTO"
I tried to create a step in CENARIO_PRINCIPAL, declaring GLOBAL.EVENTO (this variable is set to the most recent value).
I ran the scenario again and appears no error, but the variable did not receive the value specified on the "./startscen CENARIO_PRINCIPAL 001 GLOBAL -v=5 GLOBAL.EVENTO=12345" .
Can anyone help me?

As I said, I declared the variable in CENÁRIO_PRINCIPAL and ran.
But the variable GLOBAL.EVENTO not received the amount that I reported the call of the stage was GLOBAL.EVENTO = 12345.
Remembering that this variable is being used within the scenarios that are executed within the CENARIO_PRINCIPAL.

Error while invoking a scenario from another scenario through ODIStartScen

ERROR WHILE RUNNING ODI SCENARIO FROM BAM ALERT

We are using oracle data integrator 11g and have created an ODI Scenario and able to run the scenario from ODI studio client.
We have done the configuration for BAM-ODI integration as mentioned in http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E21764_01/integration.1111/e10224/bam_odi.htm#BABEJIGD
We have started ODI Agent, soa and bam servers. Created a BAM alert -> select action - Run ODI Scenario -> selected the same scenario.
Alert ran at scheduled time but failed with following error:

Error while executing a JDBC to Idoc scenario : No standard agreement found

Hello SAP PI Gurus,
I am having a JDBC to idoc Scenario .And the interface is running at 10 min of duration.
<SAP:AdditionalText>No standard agreement found for ,
BS_EXT_CTBSREPDB, , BS_ERPQAS_QE1_320, http://XYZ.com/FI/FI_FI_01/Charges, FIDCC2</SAP:AdditionalText>.
While i test the configuration...i get an error in reciever agreement as mentioned above.
Can you pls help me in resolving this issue.

Hi,
I think the problem is with namespace....for IDOC the namespace will be "urn:sap-com:document:sap:idoc:messages"...but in your case it is different.....i.e http:....etc.....please check whether you 've used the same IDOC withe above mentioned namespace in all the configuration objects like interface determination, receiveragreement etc.....
