Are the winsdows and mac versions of indesign compatible with each other? We are both PC and Mac based and I'd like to pass artwork between the two. Is this possible? Thanks!

Yes files are cross-platform compatible.
Ensure you are both working on the same version of InDesign.
Fonts across PC and Mac could vary - you may get slight differences.

Five days ago I received an anonymous email with the subject:
Your Apple ID was just used to buy full album Elton John £12.99.Your receipt No.37930343160405752
The content started: Content-Transfer-Encoding: base64 From:(my email address) followed by a very,very,very long stream of gobbledygook. There is no record of it in my i-tunes purchases or my credit card statement but that might only be because I have not updated my credit card details. Should I be worried that my account has been compromised? Does anyone know how I can get through to the right section of Apple to deal with this - all the emails I get say no-reply so I don't have an email address to contact them on.
I would be most grateful if anyone could help me with this.

A John Smith who i am sure took videos of me on Sk...

This is to inform you that a person i conversed with initially on Yahoo Messenger, a John Smith or John Cyrus Smith Skype video chatted with me. He said he was from the UK, aged 38 years old and had a sick father, a mother with bone problems and a sister who lived in the States. He himself was undergoinging tests for Leukemia (after one and a half months after talking with me). He worked in an Ad Company and hence most of the time we used to converse late at night. But the thing is i could never see him (he said the Company had a firewall and hence couldnt hear my voice or i who couldnt see him). He i am sure took Videos of me (not being nude, since i never was) but of me wearing a light night wear and oneday only a tee (without jeans) and me performing the seduction kisses (but no more than that). He wanted me to touch somewhere else but i refused to do so. He used the photos of Kevin Kiger (an American Yoga teacher). I did tell him a lot about my family but withheld a lot of real informations too. The said person is said to be 5 foot 9 inches with black eyes. I am glad everyone of my friends and family members know about that person and i even notified the authorities lest he "morphed" my images or leaked even those images that he took. I got a phone call from (+25 something number) which i found to be from Africa the previous Monday. Whatever he does or his team member (which i am sure he has) in the near future i guarantee this i will go lengths to catch someone like this who dares make a mockery of people who are willing to be friends with the likes of him. Going through the feedback and support pages will be a waste of your time. Apple won't respond to feedback, and support can't do anything regarding product suggestions, particularly not from a company with an existing product they wish to sell. The only attention you might get from Apple would be possible interest in selling your product through the Apple Stores, and I don't know how Apple chooses the third-party products they sell. All I could suggest would be writing to Apple's corporate headquarters:

with perhaps "Attention: Retail Sales Division" and telling them about your product and your interest in it being sold through the Apple Stores.

The services you listed in your post will require a data plan which is provisioned by your wireless provider. You may want to contact your wireless provider to see if you have the correct plan.

When firefox trys to auto update, or I manually download the new version, or some but not all downloads off of the web, I get this error message. C:\Users\John\AppData\Local\Temp could not be saved, because you cannot change the contents of that folder.

First off, when firefox trys to auto update, it fails. It tells me to try and download the new version from mozilla's site. When I try to download the new version I get this: (C:\Users\John\AppData\Local\Temp could not be saved, because you cannot change the contents of that folder.)
This is the same message I have been getting when I try to download other things off the net. (When I use other browsers to download I dont have this problem)

All my tracks are MP3.
In List View, I do not have an Album column I have an Album by Artist column. If I click on this column the albums look right in the playlist on the screen but when I burn to the CD the tracks are not in one folder per album instead they seem to be in folders per Artist then Album, which as one of the albums is a compilation has created about 30 folders.
If I switch on the 'Sort by Album' column it burns the disc as I expected.

Your description of who you purchased your ipad from seems unnecessary to solve the problem you are having. The password is entered on the lock screen. After a certain number of unsuccessful tries (maybe 10?) you'll be locked out. You'll have to restore the iPad. Since it sounds like you havent really used it, this shouldn't be a problem. Do you know how to do this?

I bought an ipad mini from John Lewis in February. On Saturday the ipad suddenly stopped working. I tried charging it but all it done was go to the start up apple page (black screen with white apple) then shut down and constantly repeat this process.

I took it back to John Lewis today to get fixed as its still under warranty. Because there was scratches on the back of it.... Which is hard to avoid with the slate back!!! I got told apple will probably not fix it as it looks as if I've done it! I couldn't believe it!! If I honestly dropped it that bad to have caused a technical fault inside I would of smashed the screen as the same time!! Absolutely ridiculous as I know it isn't through any fault of my own.

Try this - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)

This is a personal private message, everyone else please ignore.
Dave Milbut has worked tirelessly trying to see if he could help me restore my user name as Ken Nielsen along with my little 5-letter password. I've only been able to log on here by making up a new moniker and password which was fortunate as most forums will not allow you to enter as a new user when you still have your old standard e-mail address. The process has been like swiss cheese: some things work, some have holes in them and are not really there (no cheese.)
Whatever you can do, even to the point of advising me to leave everything as it is, would be appreciated. It would be nice to have my old name back. I think others here have had to change their names also but one thing at a time.
You can contact Dave if you need the background history of his work on this over the past few weeks. Other than that, I'm out of ideas and need help.

i tried logging in with "Ken Nielsen" & "[redacted pw]" and get:
"Adobe ID and password do not match"
i clicked reset password... and get:
"Step 2: Look in your email.
We will send an email to the address associated with the ID.
Once you receive the email, click on the URL in the email. You will go to a web page to create a new password."
clicked SEND PASSWORD and get:

ken says he has never changed the original pw, nor the email addy used associated w/the id (the same one we were communicating with). i asked him to double check his spam folder (it's a yahoo address). maybe john c. can check the ken id and make sure the email is correct so ken can reset his own pw? or can you - john - reset the pw for him?

For John: my iMac accepted the flash drive when I plugged it in. However, when I try to save a pages document, there is no reference to saving to that drive.

Hi. I suspect your flash drive is formatted with an NTFS file system (this is the default for Windows drives) and as such is read-only on a Mac. Try re-formatting on the either the Windows or Mac computer with a FAT32 file system. Be aware though that you will lose all data on your flash drive so back up first. Also maximum file size is limited to 2GB, is this a problem?
