JoikuSpot, PS3, N82

Is it possible to use JoikuSpot with my PS3? I currently have JoikuSpot lite and the PS3 Cannot locate it. I would also like to know if it's possible to pair the PS3 And the N82 via bluetooth to transfer files or even if it's just to able to play the music and view pictures from my phone because every now and then I cannot find my cable

  • Ps3 doesn't detect n9's wifi hotspot

I'm trying to connect my ps3 to the net via my Nokia n9's wifi, but the ps3 can't find the signal, even though it deects all my neighbours wireless signals
    please help

I was finally able to do this. I have a Nokia E5 and have the JoikuSpot lite version installed. My ISP is Straightalk. My laptop has Windows 7 and I had an old router from back when I had broadband on a shelf. The only thing I had to buy was a crossover ethernet cable from Staples for around $13.00.
Set up your router to make a wireless network (you should have instructions on how to do this, if not you can usually google it). Turn your laptop on. Turn on your hotspot on your phone. Connect your laptop to your hotspot. Run your crossover cable from your Router to your laptop and then turn on the router.
From the Start Menu - Select Control Panel - Select Network and Sharing Center - Select Change Adapter Settings on the right hand side. Click on the Local Area Connection, hold down the CTRL key and select the Wireless Network Connection that is currently connected to your wifi. With both items highlighted, right click and select "Create a Bridge". Once the bridge is created, you will right click on the newly created Network Bridge and select "Status". Click on the "Details" Button and make note of the following:
    IP Address
    Subnet Mask
    Default Gateway
    Primary DNS
    Secondary DNS
All of the above information will be entered into the Manual Settings of the Playstation except for the IP Address. Whatever the last number is, add a 1 to it.
Turn on your playstation. Go to Settings, scroll to Network Settings, select Internet Connection Settings. Select "Custom" settings, then wireless, then manual settings. Using the information you recorded earlier fill in the information (Remember to add a 1 to your last number in the IP address only. If your IP address was 180.124.4.2 then you would enter 180.124.4.3).
Enter all of the other information exactly as you recorded. Do not make any changes to the other prompts such as the Proxy Server or UPnP. If they default to "Do Not Use" or "Auto" then allow them to stay that way. Now test your connection. You should now have internet on your PS3.
For those who say only certain routers will do this, I would have to say that isn`t true, because I know my router is at least 4 years old and I haven`t used it in more than a year. It is worth a try if you have an old router laying around or if you want to invest in a cheap one. Like I said earlier, I bought a crossover ethernet cable which I could only find at Staples. It has to be the crossover ethernet cable. Best Buy and RadioShak do not carry them (at least my stores didn`t). The package will specifically say "Crossover". You can call your stores ahead of time and talk to the Computer Gurus of the stores and not the Game Guys. If they don`t know what you are talking about then you are either talking to the wrong person or the store doesn`t carry them. It took me over a month of research and trial and error before I finally got this to work. I hope this post is helpful to someone. Good luck!

  • N82 as WLAN adapter

Whenever I google this, I find solutions pertaining how to share the PC's wifi connection to the phone via USB, which is the opposite of what I'm looking for.
I have an N82, and I want to share its wifi connection to my Windows XP computer via USB. In other words, I want to use it as a WLAN adapter. I haven't found any way to do this with the bundled software, but is there any third party software that does?

I see that you've given that answer before, but I don't want to buy a USB dongle. I have my reasons for this, and it's not that I'm a cheap **bleep**; I'm on a wireless only connection, which sometimes refuses my PC for reasons I haven't sorted out. However, when this happens, my Nokia phone still gets connected. Thus, I know that my phone has a connection, so if I could get that onto my computer it would be a safe bet and a good makeshift solution until the hotspot gets a good reboot. When the router is in that mood it refuses ALL the PCs in the house, but not my N82 and some other devices, that's why I don't think another adapter would do the trick (indeed, the PC already has a PCI wifi adapter from Linksys).
I can see many situations where such a solution could be useful, and it shouldn't be too hard to fix, either. What Joikuspot does seems a lot more complicated.

    Not true!
I had this same problem with my PS3 and N82 I don't quite remember how I fixed it but it is Possible to connect to the PS3 via data transfer or anything that can connect to a usb flash disk.
Currently I am able to connect both my N82 and  my 5200 to my PS3 even at the same time.
    Try restoring your factory settings.
I will connect mine later on today and see if I can remember how I managed to get it to work

  • N79 or N82

Hello all, i am gonna be getting one of these two and i had a few questions
    1. Which is better for texting?
    2. Which has the better audio quality through the 3.5mm jack?
    3. How reliable are they? Are there any current firmware crashes, lock ups, resets etc?
    4. I will be taking alot of pictures usually in the daylight so which has the better cam?
    5. Which is open to more 3rd party applications?
    6. Is it possible to upgrade the n82 to FP2?
thanks alot for any help at all, even if it is only a couple of these

I came from the SE series of phones having the D750, K750, W610, W810 and recently the W715 (voda model).
SE wipes the floor off Nokia with texting, and I found this model extra slow by comparison. The keys don't offer any feedback and it's a slow affair as I find I make to keep checking every word to have sure it's right. With SE, you change T9 or 123 by selecting with different keys. Not with Nokia, It just cycles thru with one key making you occasionally start writing numbers or large text where they shouldn't be.
Also, SE's comes with there own dictionary where it stores the words you've used so when you start typing that particular word again, it comes up in a drop down list list which you then scroll down to and select such as my Sisters odd name. No such thing in Nokia it just ask's you everytime to spell the word, again again and again.
When you send a message, you're meant to select a recipent first then type. With SE you can do it anytime. And most annoying of all, when you recieve a text, it it dosen't show who it's from until you open it. And lastly, when receiving a Bluetooth item, it comes up as a text message with the same alert, even if the phone is swithched on silent! Maybe thats a bug in my phone but it's just not right.

  • Hi, can i use my macbook air as a display for my PS3?

    Hi,
I want to connect my PS3 to my macbook air as its display.  Is it possible?
If it is. what cable do i need?

It can actually be done, yes. You just need an application called "type2phone", which is available in the Mac App Store. Note that it does cost $5 (kinda steep for a novelty).

Hittingray, the advice you are giving is ill-advised.
The phone's warranty is only valid for the country that the person buys it in. Sending it to another country will only lead to unnecessary expenditure and there is no guarantee the service center will repair the phone that's not meant for the country.
The best course of action is to send it to your local Nokia service center.
"Try not. Do or do not, there is no try."
If you found someone's comments helpful or like what that person has to say, please give some Kudos to the post!

  • Problems with the new iPad and Joikuspot premium after iOS 6

    Hi,
I'm experiencing serious problems with my new iPad after last iOS update. Usually I was connecting to the internet through Joikuspot premium on Nokia mobile phone (E6). I was able to do everything, https sites surfing, absolutely everything with no exceptions.
Now, after iOS 6 update, I can't connect to https sites, google+, sync calendar etc.
I've tried to change connection criteria on joikuspot but nothing. The fact is also that other devices as laptop or other smartphones are still working perfectly, in any case, sharing the wi-fi connection created by joikuspot.
Finally the problem is 100% due to the iPad and the new iOS.
disappointing, amateur for such a device... (iPad I mean).
    Any help?
    Many many thanks
    Vittorio

Ho lo stesso problema, dopo l'aggiornamento a IOS 6 l'ipad non riconosce più il mio nokia N8. Con IOS 5 andava una cannonata...

  • Problem with WLAN in Nokia N82

I can't set correct key in settings for WLAN connect.
Access Point use Pre-Shared Key Format: Hex (64 characters)
Phone allow to input only 63 characters.
    Model of Phone Nokia N82.
Can anybody help me in this problem?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hi,
It appears that Nokia haven’t implemented the standard fully. According to our router the Pre-Shared Key Format should be either 8-63 characters OR 64 Hex digits.
See the section on “Security in pre-shared key mode”
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wi-Fi_Protected_Access
But the N82 is only accepting the 8-63 character setting not the Hex option.

  • How to connect my ps3 via thunderbolt to my imac 27'late 2012?

I have a new imac an old ps3 and will buy the new ps4 once available.
Is anyone aware comcerning a solution to connect these devices?
I need a solution video in (thunderbolt) to video out (hdmi) would prefer of course if sound would go the same way.
    Thanks

You would need a display port to HDMI adapter. One of the newer features (which the 2012 iMac has) is that it can display this type of content like a DVD player to the iMac.
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/TY600VC/A/griffin-mini-displayport-to-hdmi-wit h-audio-dvi
Use the above link to review that item. It also has a DVI adapter that you would not use. But the display port to HDMI is the correct item. Then you connect the PS3 to the hdmi on it. I don't think it would passthrough audio though so you would have to figure something out for sound.

  • How to connect my PS3 to my iMac (Late 2012)

Hello every one, I have a question. Can I connect my PS3 to my late 2012 iMac with 27 inch over HDMI?
I looked in the internet but I only found such Adapters, for the older iMac's.
If I can do this, please let me know what I need and where I could get this Adapter or Device.
    Thank You.

  • HT4437 How do I get my Air Play to access my two WD Share Space and my booklive duo?. Able to access with PS3 but not Apple TV Ver 3.  Have all my movies and music on it and do not want to have a computer on for it.

I had bought two Network Drives so I could watch my own movies anywhere in my house and clear up the clutter of all the DVDs, Blurays and CDs, Works greate with the PS3,  Bought the Apple TV version 3 because it was smaller and resently bought the IPAD 3 and have the IPHONE 4S and other apple products.
My wish is to access my Network drives with the Apple TV - I have herd of Jailbreaking it (Not Avalible from where I can tell for the Version3) - but why didn't Apple ever think of accessing a Network drive and is their a work around for this?   Should I just shutup  and wait till Jail Breaking is avalible for the Version 3?.
    Thank you for any help

I'm sure they did think of it, but quickly discarded the idea because of the horrendous user experience this causes.

  • How to connect a PS3 to BT Openzone or Bt FON

I thought I would post this information as it has taken me all morning, a lot of phone calls and reading on google to sort this out!!
Problem I had:  I want to take my PS3 to my parents house when visiting and they dont have any access to the internet.  I am a total broadband customer and have access to BT FON & Openzone.
I called BT directly and they said they didnt support it so I nearly gave up however I have now found out exactly how to connect!!
Go to Network settings on PS3
Go to  - Internet connection settings
    Choose - Custom
    Choose - Wireless
    Choose - Scan
Pick whichever has highest signal strength - either BT FON or BT Openzone
SSID should come up with BtOpenzone (leave it as it is!)
    WLAN settings - choose none
    IP address - auto
DHCP host - do not set
    DNS - Automatic
    MTU - automatic
Proxy server - do not use
    UPNP - enable
    Press x to save settings
At this point it will test connection and show the IP address has been found but the internet connection failed, this is fine. Come out of settings and go to your internet browser on PS3
Once you launch the browser you get the BT openzone log in page, enter your details if you are a customer or buy the package / whichever is your preference.
Once you have logged in you can then close the browser and launch an online game!
I played Black Ops on BT Openzone at signal strength 100%, it was perfect and I had no problems at all!
    I hope this helps!!!

Hi, BTOPENZONE is my normal wireless network. I only have openzone and pay monthly for it!
Has anyone found a solution to the problem mentioned above with regards to the PS3 not obtaining an IP adrress from the OPENZONE access point? I alled th openzone helpline last night and am no further on today!
    Please can someone help me!!

  • Can i use a mini display port on hdmi cabel to connect a ps3 or something??

the hdmi connector of the ps3 or a sat reciever is an output and on the 27" imac the minidisplayport is an input/output , so my question is, can i connect my ps3 or my sat reciever to my imac with a hdmi on minidisplayport cabel to watch tv or play ps3   .
if it does'nt work, how can i do this , or can i do this ??
    thanks benedictfromicking

Nope; at least not that I've found. There are only a couple of companies selling such a converter (they probably all come from the same manufacturer) and they're all pricing it exactly the same.
    Regards.

  • Anyone ever try recording from PS3  to Mac using EyeTVHD  ?

    Hello,
I am connecting my PS3 with a multi AV cable to the back of my PS3 and connecting the blue green red cables to the EyeTVHD but I always get a NO SIGNAL message on the Mac.
Has anyone tried this and got it to work?
Is it possible to record games, regular dvds, and bluray using this setup ?
Which are possible and which are not ?
I can record from my regular dvd player ( but picture only - no sound )
The back of the dvd player has a digital video out but I believe EyeTVHD only accepts analog input. So not sure how to get sound if that is the case.
If anyone can help with the PS3 connections or the dvd player sound - much thanks.
Is the only way to record bluray to purchase a bluray writer and would the bluray writer work with the PS3 using EYETVHD with the Mac - man it's really getting confusing now.
thanks if anyone can lead me out of the wilderness here

I am connecting my PS3 with a multi AV cable to the back of my PS3 and connecting the blue green red cables to the EyeTVHD but I always get a NO SIGNAL message on the Mac.
That's probably because, as you describe your setup, nothing is connected to the Mac.
