Hi,
I live in Cambrtidge and study Graphic and Web design at Anglia Ruskin University.
Last year I did a responsive website project with Dreamwaver so I had understand CSS3 and html5, which was really tricky but I learned so much from it
This year for my major design project, I will create a website using MUSE.
I am a creative cloud member and in the next 2 weeks I will explore this software.
However I will be really interested in coming to a meet up about getting tips to design website with MUSE.
Please let me know when and where the meet up will be.
Best wishes

  • Is there any way to log in to active directory from a mac without joining the AD domain?

    I am looking for a way to log in to active directory without having the Mac join the AD domain. Basically i have not been able to understand all the ramifications of joining the AD domain. From what I have read in various documentations on the apple site and some of the AD plug in sites, it seems that if the mac joins the domain, all kinds of group policies get 'transfered' to the mac experience. How exactly does that affect the privileges of the local mac user on their machine? do they need to change their mac password? what happens to their existing home directories? what happens when they have their laptops at home?
    TIA

    The reason i am hesitant about binding the macs is that i'm not sure what are all the effects of that. will they have to change their mac passwords / usernames? more than likely the auto login will have to go. If there are multiple accounts on the mac (ex one admin account and other regular and admin accounts) how does binding affect them? how will it work when the mac is not in the office? if they have admin rights on the mac but not on the windows AD, how will that affect them? Do you know of a source i could go to to find answers for questions like these?
    Unfortunately, the source for answers should be your IT department. I can tell you how my machine works. I have a personal machine with no restrictions and a work machine bound to an Active Directory domain. Even my work machine has few restrictions compared to normal. I have a privileged account I can use if necessary. Also, I'm pretty much a goody-two-shoes so I don't try to circumvent restrictions.
    Basically, the Mac uses a system called Open Directory to manage user accounts. Every Mac comes with its own miniature Open Directory server. If you have a network with MacOS X Server, you can use the server's Open Directory. You can also use Microsoft's Active Directory to perform all the same tasks. The user's logins and passwords would be whatever is on Active Directory. They can change their password on the Mac and it will change the Active Directory password. Active Directory can enforce passwords expirations too.
    I am not an Active Directory administrator, so I can't give you specifics. Pretty much everything you have mentioned can be controlled via Active Directory. That is what it is for. It does require active participation of your IT staff. If you don't have that, then I don't see it working out well. It sounds like a paradox. IT wants to control users, but doesn't want to deal with it. You can't have it both ways. Maybe let it be known among the Mac users that visiting those restricted sites could cause IT to get rid of Mac altogether. That does sound like a probable outcome.

  • Happy to join the elite group of ORACLE PROFESSIONALS

    Hello All,
    I have recently passed my ORACLE DBA 10g OCP exam and I am happy to join the elite group of Oracle Professionals. I have always been obsessed about Oracle and its numerous products and I am glad to have turned this dream into reality.
    Its the first step and I hope that as I gain more insight into this fabulous world, I would be able to delve deeper and most importantly inspire,motivate, and share it with others.
    My sincerest thanks goes to my Lecturer AINA and my colleague WILLIAM who is also a DBA 10g OCP, and has also passed the SQL Expert exam.
    I am joining this community in the hope of gaining valuable and relevant knowledge to enhance my skill and expertise in the Oracle World.
    Lets share the knowledge...
    Thank you.

  • Is Adobe abandoning Flash developers?

    After upgrading to CS3, I've noticed that several components
    / classes are missing from AS3. In particular anything to do with
    webservices. (I know, this topic has been brought up before). I've
    also heard statements like "Flash is geared more towards the
    designer, and Flex is more for the developer...". Where does that
    leave those of us who use Flash to develop applications? Does this
    mean that we need to shell out more money for another IDE? That if
    we want to use the functionality we were familiar with prior to
    CS3, we have to stay with AS2...knowing that any new AS3 (and
    beyond) functionality will not be available if you stay with Flash?
    I guess I'm just looking for some answers to the following:
    1. Is there plans to keep Flash AS3 current, at least up to
    par with what is in AS2?
    2. If Adobe's plans are to force Flash developers into using
    Flex, will there be some pricing consideration for owners of the
    Flash development products?
    3. If the Flex compiles to a flash movie, are there any plans
    to allow for Flex development within the Flash IDE?
    thanks

    Hi Susan
    As I understand it, Adobe has (or plans to) lay off about 700 workers. I've been seeing rumors fly yesterday about Flash. What seems to be the case here is that Adobe is backing away from a Flash Player for mobile devices in favor of HTML 5 and Apps. (Thanks Steve Jobs!)
    I don't believe Flash is going away. Adobe has too much invested in the overarching Flash technology to just abandon it. So it would make sense that it would remain for things PC and Mac based, but not for smartphones and small devices.
    These are just my own observations based off some notes I've seen in a behind-the-scenes forum for the Adobe Community Professionals group.
    I'll try pinging the group and see if there is an "official" response you could point your boss to that may calm him.
    Cheers... Rick

  • TFS says {oldaccount} is not a member of the Team Foundation Valid Users group, but I am

    I'm trying to check in changes to TFS using VS2013. When I hit the submit button, TFS returns the following error, "TF14002: The identity {domain} \ {oldaccount} is not a member of the Team Foundation Valid Users group."
    Background: my account name has been changed to {newaccount} from {oldaccount}.  And when the sys-admins changed my account name they did not update my computer itself, so I'm still using C:\Users\{oldaccount}. I can't believe that would make a difference
    but you never know....
    When I first started working at this company I'm almost certain I set up my TFS Workspace with my old account. But I thought I deleted all that stuff related to my old account and reset everything to my new account (Workspaces and TFS server). My lead tech
    has even shown me the account mgmnt screen with my new account name. And I've been able to check out items with my new account name.
    I performed the following steps to try to "clean out" TFS:
    • I copied all of my changed files to a back-up location.
    • I undid all changes in TFS (note that TFS has been allowing me to check out files to edit).
    • I deleted the TFS entry in Credential Manager per a suggestion online.
    • I deleted my Workspace.
    • I even deleted my TFS server.
    • I Rebooted my computer.
    • I reconnected to the TFS server.
    • I rebuilt my Workspace.
    • I restored my changed files from my back-up location.
    At this point I tried checking-in my changes again but got the same error message as above.
    Next, I deleted everything in this folder:
    C:\Users\ ...\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Team Foundation\5.0\Cache
    ... but I'm still seeing the error.
    Also, we'd been informed that a number of us need to downgrade from "Ultimate" to "Professional".  I did my downgrade to VS2013 Pro (after the steps above) but I am still seeing the same error.
    A comment on another question
    here suggested that I shelve my changes without preserving changes locally, then un-shelve and attempt to check-in.  This also did not work, I could shelve my changes and un-shelve, but doing so did not fix the original problem.
    Note that I do NOT have access to the TFS server itself - much less permissions to perform any sort of admin on it (and I don't know the person who would) - but might there be a table in the TFS database that still has an entry for my old account that could
    be joining to my computer name &/or new account name when TFS goes to look up my account info when I check in my changes? I am getting desperate for an answer!
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks,
    D. Kelley

    Hi D. Kelley,
    Thanks for the details. Based on your description, you might need to change or update the SID for users. Try identity command to change the username if you never use the new username in TFS. Check this page for more information about
    identities command in this
    page.
    You can also check the table "tbl_Identity" in the tfs_configuration database to see if the new user exists, or it has the old user. Another option is have a check on other machines to see if it works fine. Refer to links below for more information:

  • How I fixed the missing Flash.exe in Extension manager 5

    I was surprised to see that Flash 5 was absent from the list of programs in Extension Manager 5
    First I ran
    Adobe Utilities-CS5/ExtenScript Toolkit CS5
    BridgeTalk.__diagnostics__;
    In the relevant section in
    Result: BridgeTalk Diagnostics
    flash-11.0:
    Group = cs
    Path = D:\programs\Adobe\Creative5\Adobe Flash CS5\Flash.exe
    Display Name = Adobe Flash Pro CS5
    MsgAuthentication = ON
    MsgDigest = ON
    ESTK = OFF
    Status = (not running)
    ExeName = Flash.exe
    I noticed that the path to Flash.exe was at the same level as other creative suite programs.
    The regstry also reflected this
    my istallation put it at one extra level i.e. in
    D:\programs\Adobe\Creative5\Adobe Device Central CS5\Adobe Flash CS5\Flash.exe
    I corrected the registry entry, but this didn't help.
    Then I added the folder Adobe Flash CS5 in Creative 5.
    Into this file I put a shortcut to Flash.ext but this wasn't suffient. Finally I realized that the file XManConfig.xml, which is in the folder Configuration,
    was required so, instead of just adding this File I coppied the Configuration folder to the Adobe GFlash C5.
    The the Flash program is now present in Extension Manager, and I am now able to add extensions.
    Why the installation put the Flash.ex in a dfferent folder from the other programs in the suite I don't know, buT i didn't want to mess with the folder structure.

    I don't know why your flash was installed in "Adobe Device Central CS5". It is supposed to be installed in the same level as "Adobe Device Central CS5", in your case, "D:\programs\Adobe\Creative5". Was Flash installed by another person? Or the target directory was set to this wrong folder? Anyway, you can think "Adobe Device Central CS5" as another component or product in CS5 family, just like "Adobe Flash CS5".

  • How to join the AP to the WLC

    Hi All,
    I am new to Cisco wireless solution and would like to ask how to add the AP to the WLC properly. All Cisco 1041 and Cisco 2500 WLC are new. I connect those AP and WLC to the switch without any VLAN tag and the AP can gain the IP address from our DHCP correctly. However, the AP 1041 could not join the WLC successfully. Here is the log. I really do not have any idea about that and hope someone can help. Many thanks.
    WLC: Cisco 2500
    IP Address: 192.168.1.225
    version: 7.4.100.0
    AP: 1041
    IP Address (DHCP): 192.168.1.195
    version: 15.2(2)JB
    I also checked the following item.
    - WLC already enable Accept Manufactured Installed Certificate (MIC) in WLC -> Security -> AP Policy
    - WLC can ping AP and vice versa
    - WLC has 5 AP license
    - All configuration are default setting
    - Tried to issued join command in AP manually but no luck "lwapp ap controller ip add 192.168.1.225"

  • LWAPP 1231 does not join the controller

    I have LWAPP AIR-AP1231G-A-K9 that was moved from one site to the other one. It has now a different IP address taken from DHCP and its former controller does not exist any more.
    I am trying to join it to the same kind of controller which is AIR-WLC4402-12-K9 with  7.0.98.0.
    However the AP cannot join the controller, first I got these on the controller
    0 Wed Jul 3 14:12:56 2013 AAA Authentication Failure for UserName:0014694b3ab2 User Type: WLAN USER
    1 Wed Jul 3 14:12:56 2013 Failed to authorize AP with Base Radio MAC 00:14:69:4b:3a:b2. Authorization entry does not exist in Controller's AP Authorization List.
    I added the MAC address of the AP into MAC filtering, and now getting these
    AAA Authentication Failure for UserName:0014694b3ab2 User Type: WLAN USER
    I am reading several discussions, but they seem to be related to mesh OS mismatch.
    My AP is for sure not with mesh OS as it was connected to the controller before the move.
    System image file is "flash:/c1200-k9w8-mx.124-23c.JA/c1200-k9w8-mx.124-23c.JA"
    #sh capwap client config
    swVer                   7.0.98.0
    Does anyone know what to do to get the AP joined to the controller ?
    I had another AP where I tried to reset the LWAPP config - clear lwapp private-config, but this did not help and this AP is now constantly rebooting without allowing me to login. It looks like the only way how to wake it up would be to convert to autonomous and then back to LWAPP which is something I cannot do as I am too far from it.
    Thanks,
    Vlad

    Hello George,
    Many thanks. I have not converted the AP from autonomous to lwapp, it has been lwapp since the very beginning. We just moved this AP from one site where it was successfully joined the controller as lwapp to other site where I am trying to join the same kind of controller with the same OS, same general settings but different IPs.
    I do not understand what could happen to the AP as for sure it was just shipped and not touched IT wise.
    Anyway, I will try the excersise described in the link above.
    Thanks,
    Vlad

  • An invite to join the SOA-BPM EMG

    You're invited to join a new branch of the Enterprise Methodology Group (EMG), the SOA-BPM EMG.
    What is the SOA-BPM EMG?:
    >
    This group is a place to discuss best practices and methodologies for SOA and BPM Enterprise (Oracle) development, including effort by "experts" in SOA (that’s anyone that knows what SOA stands for ;-) to discuss high level issues than those discussed on the OTN SOA Forums. This effort is an overall part of getting SOA and BPM experts, advocates and programmers to start collaborating at user group events and OOW to get SOA and BPM out there
    >
    I encourage anyone interested to join the SOA-BPM EMG today, by visiting: http://groups.google.com/group/soa-emg

    Is this group still around ? I couldn't locate the email group.
    Thanks
