Joiner Join Condition changed automatically
Hi,
When one of the ingrp table operators has been added with new column and that new column is connected to the joiner, the join condition of the joiner automatically changes(randomly).
To give the steps to recreate (it doesnot occur all the time)
1.Take two source table operators.
2.join them through a joiner with the correct join condition like for example.
INGRP1.COLUMN1 = INGRP2.COLUMN1 AND
INGRP1.COLUMN2=INGRP2.COLUMN2
3.Take the output from OUTGRP1 to the target table.
4.Generate the map and they are correct until now.
5.Now add one column to the first source table operator(manually or by synchronize).
6.Drag that column into the joiner and then save.
7.Generate the map now to see the condition would have become something like
INGRP1.COLUMN1 = INGRP2.COLUMN9 AND
INGRP1.COLUMN2=INGRP2.COLUMN10
Couldnot find out in what exact condition this mismatch occurs.
Has anyone faced this issue earlier.
Regards
Ganesh
Yes the joiner is something you have to be careful with.
For example, you can also have this problem.
1. 2 source tables are joined.
2. ingroup1.col1 = ingroup2.col1 (for example)
3. You decide to take a few columns from both tables as the joiner's 'out' group.
4. You then realize that you can't use one of the columns that is being brought in from ingroup1.
5. The column is removed from the ingroup1 table operator, and it is removed from the 'input' portion of the joiner.
6. It looks like it is also removed from the 'output' portion of the joiner....and it is. BUT...
7. Sometimes removing something from the joiner causes the output values to 'shift'.
example:
joiner input: 1.1, 1.2, 1.3 joins with 2.1, 2.2, 2.3, 2.4
output is 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 2.1, 2.2, 2.3, 2.4
now we decide we don't need to bring in 2.2 at all.
it is removed from the incoming table operator and the ingroup of the joiner.
it is then removed from the outgroup of the joiner.
however the values simply shift in the absence of 2.2. Observe:
output is 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 2.1, 2.3, 2.4
^ ^
2.2 2.3
so sometimes the outgroups get bound to the missing value and they all 'shift'
watch for this. I've seen many it happen to many people even after reconciling and synchronizing and so forth.

How to change operator of join conditions in where clause?
Hello
I have a situation... I want to change the operator between each join conditions in the where clause when these join conditions are not from the same join..
For example, I have the following schema:
Dim1 ------ DimA -------Fact1
Dim1-------DimB -----Fact1
So DimA and DimB are aliasas of one dim table, but the join is different.
Now if I run this model, what I will get in the where clause of the query is:
Where Dim1 = DimA and Dim1 = DimB and DimA= Fact1 and DimB = fact1.
Is there a way I can change these "and" operator to "OR", so that the where clause would look like this: Where Dim1 = DimA and Dim1 = DimB and DimA= Fact1 OR DimB = fact1?
This is different from simply changing the join operator within the same join, because these are different joins and I'd like to control how they relate to each other..
Please help
ThanksSometimes, business rules are complex, so there isn't always a way to simplify things. Is your issue that it's complex and error prone, or is it performance due to the OR clauses?
One possibility that will at least make it easier to test and debug is something like this: (pseudocode)
From Table1 Inner join Table2 on x=y etc.etc.
CROSS APPLY
(Select case when a=b and (c=d or e=f) then 1 else 0 end) as Situation1
, case when h=i or j = k then 1 else 0 end) as situation2
, case when l = m then 1 else 0 end) as situation 3
) as CA_Logic_Simplifier
Where situation1 = 1 and situation2 = 1 and situation3 = 1
Although you could say, "Hey, this is basically doing the same thing as before", this approach would be far easier to test and debug, because you can at a glance look at the values for situation1, 2, 3, etc. to see where errors are being introduced.
The cross apply makes the columns situation1/2/3 "instantiated", so they are usable in the where clause. Divide and conquer. -

Hi Experts,
Am trying to extract the data from Solman, for this purpose am creating a Generic Extractor based on three tables. So, can anyone please help me out by providing the join conditions to create a view based upon the following three tables,
1. CRM_ORDERM_H
2. DNOD_NOTIF

DB view - join conditions order
Hi gurus
I wonder if, while creating a DB view, the order of join conditions will affect the overall performance. In my case, i need to join COEP, COBK and TKA01. Actually the join conditions are, in this order:
COEP MANDT = TKA01 MANDT
COEP KOKRS = TKA01 KOKRS
COBK MANDT = COEP MANDT
COBK KOKRS = COEP KOKRS
COBK BELNR = COEP BELNR
To achieve a better performance, may I change the order (up/down or left/right)?
Thank you! <removed by moderator>

Master Detail Form is ignoring the 4th join condition
Hello All,
I have master detail relationship between two tables with a
composite foreign key (of 4 columns). I'm creating a master
detail form in O9iAS Portal 3.0.9.8.0 on these 2 tables
successfully with no errors. The only thing I have noticed, is
that the wizard does not populate the join conditions
automatically in step#3. The form runs Okay but it ignores the
last condition (i.e., 4th), which means that it brings too many
details records.
Any ideas
Much appreciated if you can CC me: [email protected]
Hamada HimaI had this same problem with master/detail form and 4 join conditions. I opened up a TAR and after several weeks
Oracle determined this to be a bug and submitted it to developers.
For a work around, I created a view with two of the join fields concatenated together, then created another md form
with 3 join conditions and it worked. Good luck. -
Hi all,
Is it possible to propose a join condition (using SQ02) between two fields of two tables other than what is proposed by the system?
Thanks
SandeepHi Sandeep,
You can very much match other fields of two tables in SQ02.
1. Goto SQ02
2. Give the infoset name
3. Goto change mode
4. Press the Join button, it will display the join conditions between the two tables.
5. Press Join Conditions, it will propose the system generated join conditions
with key fields
6. If you want to match your own fields other than the key fields you can just
point the mouse pointer on the field of the first table and just drag it to the field
of the second table. It will create a join condition.
7. Save the infoset.

More than one join condition for 2 tables in obiee
Hello,
I am using obiee 11g.
There are 2 tables tableA and tableB where the join condition is like (tableA.col1=tableB.col1) or (tableA.col1 is null and tableB.col1 is null)
where should i do these type of joins.
I tried putting in physcial layer->f(x) but giving error like here only columns an d opertaors are allowed.
Thanksok here it goes.
I have a tableA with columns col1(pk),col2 and other columns
I have tableB with columns col1(pk),col2..Only these 2 columns.
Now distinct tableA.col2 values are put in tableB.col2. For those distinct values i have put the tableB.col1 values.
Now tableA.col2 as well as tableB.col2 can be null beacuse there may be null values in tableA.col2.
Now in tableB i have added one more row which has col1 as value and col2 as null.
Now when in physical layer when i do tableA.col2=tableB.col2 i dont get the null values.
What i want is whenever the tableA.col2 and tableB.col2 is null then take tableB.col1 for those vales.
So when i query i do
select * from tableA,tableB where
((tableA.col2=tableB.col2) or (tableA.col2 is null and tableB.col2 is null))
What i want is when i do a join i should be able to give this OR condition in rpd thats it.
because when i do in where clause of content tab it goes like a AND condition and not OR.
Thanks

Infoset Join condition on Key feilds and data fields
Hi Guys,
I have a requirement to biuld the Info set with join conditon on two DSO's the info objects which i am using in the JOin condition are defined as data fieds in one DSO and defined as key fields in another DSO, is it possible to define join condition on key fields and data fields.
The two info objects are
0AC_DOC_NO
0ITEM_NUM
These two info objects are defined as data fields in DSO : 0LIV_DS1 Invocie verificaion
key fields in DSO: 0FIAP_0o3 FI AP Line Item
Please suggest me is it possible to define join the condtion on the data fields and key feilds.
Thanks
Best regards
SGHi
yes you can create join, you will get any issue in reporting level.
example: Say i want to create Info Set on 0MATERIAL and Sales DSO.
In 0MATERIAL Info Object it is key filed, but in my DSO 0MATERIAL is data field.Still we can create
Creation of join is dependent on fields common in your source objects.

Set operator NE in Database View creation in join condition
Hi Experts,
I have a requirement to set NE(not equal) operator in join condition of Database View creation. Could you please help me how to set in operator.
Join condition :
Ex : BSAK-AUGBL NE BSAK-BELNR.
You know that by default operator is '='. i want to set NE in place of '='.
Thanks,Hi Chinna,
Check whether if there is any possibility or not to include more key fields like bukrs, lifnr, gjahr etc in the where condition, so that you query may result faster. Then, there won't be any necessary to create the view.
Hope this helps.
Please reward if useful.

Join is not working for NULL values on join condition
HI ,
I have the following problem .
SQL> select *from a;
X Y
1
2
3
4
SQL> select *from b;
B Y
1
2
SQL> select f.x,f.y,s.b from a f,b s
2 where f.x=s.b(+);
X Y B
1 1
2 2
4
3
SQL> select f.x,f.y,s.b from a f,b s
2 where f.x=s.b(+)
3 and f.y=s.y;
no rows selected
So now if i include one more join condition where in null = null situation arises , it is now working.
Simply saying its not treating ( 1 and null ) and ( 1 and null ) are same.
What is the solution.Is this a expected behaviour.
Thanks
Pramod GarreHI
I want something like this
SQL> select f.x,f.y,s.b from a f,b s
2 where f.x=s.b(+);
X Y B
1 1
2 2
4
3
SQL> select f.x,f.y,s.b from a f,b s
2 where f.x=s.b(+)
3 and f.y=s.y;
Instead of "now Rows " i have to get
X Y B
1 1
2 2
4
3
Is there is any way to do this.
Thanks

If you want all the rows from goh, then you don't want any conditions like goh.OFFER_NO <> 0.
Make all the joins to goh outer joins, and make all conditions that apply to any tables joined to goh (or to tables joined to them) part of the join condition, like this:
FROM APPS_JP.GEDIS_OFFER_HEADER goh
LEFT OUTER JOIN APPS_JP.GEDIS_ORDER_BUILDS gob ON gob.OFFER_NO = goh.OFFER_NO
AND gob.BUILD_NO = 1
LEFT OUTER JOIN APPS_JP.GEDIS_ORDER_LINES gol ON gol.OFFER_NO = goh.OFFER_NO
AND gol.BUILD_NO = 1
AND gol.LINE_NO = 1
LEFT OUTER JOIN APPS_JP.GEDIS_OFFER_RELATED_CUSTOMER
gorc ...
I hope this answers your question.
If not, post a little sample data (CREATE TABLE and INSERT statements, relevant columns only) for all the tables involved, and the results you want from that data.
Simplify the problem as much as possible. For example, do you really need all those tables to show what the problem is? Of course, you need them in tyour real query, but if you understand a solution that only involves 4 or 5 tables, you'll know how to apply it to any number of tables.
Explain, using specific examples, how you get those results from that data.Always say what version of Oracle you're using (e.g. 11.2.0.2.0).

In-different behaviour of join condition
My query is of in-different behaviour of join condition with join between a varchar2 column and a number column. I am using the following join condition :-
CM.UPDATED_BY=to_char(LM.LOGIN_ID)
where CM.UPDATED_BY is a varchar2 column and LM.LOGIN_ID is a number column. Now, CM.UPDATED_BY also has number only but some previous & old data is having varchar2 data. So, for that reason, i put the to_char before LM.LOGIN_ID, otherwise, only
CM.UPDATED_BY=to_char(LM.LOGIN_ID)
would having been okay. Now, my real question is that the query with the condition,
CM.UPDATED_BY=to_char(LM.LOGIN_ID)
works fine as long as there is no 'character' data in 'CM.UPDATED_BY'. If i put the condition:
CM.UPDATED_BY=to_char(LM.LOGIN_ID)
then, the query is taking too long and the output is also not coming. Please help in solving my doubt as i need it resolved urgently.1) Did you intend for all 4 join conditions to be identical? From the text of your question, it sounds like some of the conditions should be different.
2) How do you compare the running time when CM.UPDATED_BY has non-numerica data and when it has numeric data? If you are altering the data in the table, are you reanalyzing the table between runs? Is there a difference in the query plan in the two cases?

Very urgent (using join conditions in PI)
Hi PI gurus.
My scenario is SOAP to JDBC(Portal Webdynpro screen to Oracle database).
I have a requirement to fetch some complex data from the database using complex nested queries.How can i go ahead using join conditions in PI.Here the client is insisiting only on queries and rejected all other methods for solving this like
1)Java proxies
2)stored procedures written in the database system
3)Create a logical view in database system .
The following option is permitted for me by the client to follow
· Using the SQL_QUERY as a query method in the JDBC Receiver Channel in XI
· Trying out JOIN conditions to make multiple query into a single query:- Here need to check the feasibility of the JOIN Condition
Please help me to complete our task.
points will be rewarded for helpful answers.
Thanks & Regards

WSDL file is used for the integration of Portal - PI scenario.
Process Flow:
1. User requests for a report from the available list of PSMA reports by providing required set of input parameters.
2. Portal forwards the request with these input parameters to PI using web service model through SOAP protocol and the required results are derived from PI
3. Report is viewed on portal screen.
