Joining movie tracks together?

How do you join tracks (clips) together in imovie?

Export selected clips in the timeline as Full Quality DV, then import it back.
You can use this shortcut for the import:

  • Joining iTunes tracks - not from CD

Simply put, I bought The Load Out and Stay by Jackson Browne on iTunes. When I am listening and the list is By Artist, they run together, just like the CD or vinyl would. I'd like to listen with Shuffle, which means the songs are treated as two separate tracks. Join CD tracks is greyed out, which figures since I am not working with CDs. Any ideas on how to make these two songs always play together,no matter what??
    Thanks!!

In iTunes 11.3 you can join the tracks together by setting the gaps between tracks to none, if that is what you are looking for:   Ctrl-click or right-click the playlist to bring up the "Burn" panel, then set the "Gap between Songs" pop-up menu to "none".
Joining tracks, that they are always treated as one track, can only be done, when importing songs from CD:  (from the "Help" menu:)
    Join CD tracks
When you import songs from a CD into iTunes, you can group songs so they always play together (even when you’re shuffling songs).
Insert an audio CD into your computer’s CD or DVD drive, and click No in the window that appears.
When the songs on the CD appear in the iTunes window, hold down the Shift key to select the ones you want to join.
Click near the top-right of the iTunes window, and choose Join CD Tracks.

  • Quicktime 10 - joining movie clips?

I used to be able to join movie clips together in QT 7 (Pro upgrade) simply 'by dragging and dropping', but cannot seem to be able to do it in the new QT (SL). Is there a solution?

As Wyodor said, use QuickTime 7 Player. It should be in the Applications -> Utilities folder on your computer.

  • Joining more than just 2 tracks together

Is it possible to connect more than just 2 tracks together from a cd? I would like to have a song that is continuous and i wanted it to be longer than just 2 track lengths...so i was just wondering before i wasted a cd and finding out it doesnt work!
Thanks alot for all of your help!!!!

Yes, just select all the songs you want to join and go Advanced>join cd tracks. They must be listed right next to each other though.

  • Voiceovers - How to Edit Out Breaths and Move Audio Track Together

I am a Voiceover professional and new to Logic Express. I have learned how to edit out breaths between sentences to conserve time if I have to, but I do not know how to move the track together to eliminate the resulting "silence gap". Is there a way to grab/select and drag?

I think you will find this free video tutorial helpful. Click on "Organizing the Takes."

  • How do I join/link 2 tracks together so one plays after the other (even when shuffled)

Is it possible to link 2 songs together within an album or playlist, so they still play in the correct order even when playing in a shuffled playlist?  Some tracks are just meant to be played in the right order (example is INXS "Need You Tonight", followed immediately by "Mediate".  Sounds crazy I know, but these 2 tracks are just meant to go together!)  Any help or hints greatly appreciated.  Thanks in advance to all of you cleverer people than me!

If you are ripping from CD, select the CD, select the songs, then menu Advanced > Join CD tracks. Then RIP and it will be as a single track named with both song names.
If you do not have the CD, you can use this -> Join Together

  • Joining Tracks Together

How on earth do you join tracks together on your ipod mini?
All help would be greatly appreciated

    I think he means me.
Use the “join cd tracks” option in the advanced menu of iTunes. Do this on importing the cd as it cannot be done afterward.
Make sure the tracks are in their correct order, and highlight those you wish to join.
No gaps, but the downside is that you will of course lose the ability to navigate between tracks, and the song info is also lost. The iPod will display the cd title in the song field in the “now playing” screen . You’ll also have one large file instead of a number of smaller ones.
If you would like to see gapless playback implemented to the iPod, add your voice to the many here.

  • Join 2 projects together

Hi - does anyone know if 2 projects can be joined. I have edited each half a life performance and created two projects one for each half. I would not like to append Act 2 to Act 1 can anyone let me know how this can be done please?

If you have QuickTime Pro ($30 US), you can simply append the tracks together.
In iMovie, you could SHARE the second half using SHARE/EXPORT USING QUICKTIME choosing Movie to QuickTime Movie. In the Video Options, choose Apple Intermediate Codec for the Codec. Give it a name and a location that you can find and render the movie. Then, import this movie into iMovie as an Event. You can drag the whole clip to the second half of your movie.

  • Join CD tracks option NOT showing up in iTunes 11.4

Once again, Join CD tracks option refuses to show up when I am trying to import an audiobook CD.  The tracks are sorted consecutively by track Name, I am selecting all the tracks, and the options menu upper right of the window does NOT show Join CD Tracks.
    I have separately and together varied the following:  toggled the compilation CD box off and on;
    restarted iTunes;
    switched from one CD to another in the same set;
change the 'type' from 'spoken & audio' to audiobooks to music to unclassifiable
    and still no joy.
I have used Join Together to join tracks from Audiobooks but if starting from individual tracks, CD by CD, there are always a few chapters out of place.  I need this first step to work.
Is there anywhere else to look for a variation to make the lost option reappear?

"The tracks are sorted consecutively by track Name"
You need to sort consecutively by track number for the Join Tracks option to be available.

  • How to keep tracks together in shuffle mode?

When playing in shuffle mode you can't hear tracks in line together while they should be, e.g. in conceptalbums.
Is there a way to overcome this?
(You can do it with complete albums when downloading in the Library, but what can you do when the tracks are already in the Library?)

The second tab is calles 'Info' as well. Down under you have the possibilty to mark Part of a collection (Deel van verzameling). It should do the trick but it doesn't. I once tried, but I haven't found out what it does.
In English, that is named as "Part of a compilation" and Google Translates that as "Deel van een compilatie". As far as iTunes is concerned, this means that the album has songs by different artists, albums such as the "Now X" series. It is how iTunes keeps a Various Artists album together.
    Joepiet wrote:
I want to shuffle works, not tracks..
Ah! I see what you want now!
Two possibilities that I can think of (number 2 is the better one):
Create a Playlist for each "work", by simply adding all the songs from one work to one Playlist and all songs from the next work to another Playlist and so on. Then, if you want to play one complete work, followed by another complete work, you could simply create a further Playlist and add each "work Playlist" you want to this new Playlist. To make the works random, all you could do is choose for yourself as you are adding them. You would need to play this new Playlist in order, not shuffle.
If you originally imported this music from a CD, you could import from the CD again. But this time, combine the tracks that make up one work, as one track. iTunes names this as "Join CD Tracks" (or CD-tracks samenvoegen in the Dutch iTunes).
In the screenshot above, I have selected tracks one, two and three and then used the options menu to find Join CD Tracks. This third option will not be visible until you select two or more adjacent tracks, as shown above.
In the screenshot below, I have joined tracks one, two and three as one "work". Then joined tracks four, five and six as a separate work. Finally, I've joined tracks seven through twelve as a third work.
Notice in the screenshot that the Options menu says "Unjoin CD Tracks". That is because the highlighted ones (7-12) are currently joined.
And here it is in Dutch:
With this second method, a work (of several tracks) will always be played as one track (or song). You can then simply add all the individual works to one Playlist, and play the Playlist in Shuffle Songs mode. That way, each work would be played in full, followed, at random, by another work.)
And if you really need to - import the CD this second time with a slightly different album name, so that you then have two copies. One, where each song (or track) is the individual song on the album and the second where each "song" is a work.
Now, lets hope I can get my iTunes back into "English" English, as my Dutch is not too good, even though I'm just the other side of the North Sea from you!

  • Can't join purchased tracks

I know how to join tracks imported from a CD, but I want to join tracks purchased from the Music Store and can't do it. How do I join purchased tracks?

    Hi there,
I did some searching here in the forums about this, and I think i found an answer that would be useful to you. I apologize to the original poster, as I am not going to cite his name, but here is what he said:
"The process of compression to MP3 or AAC adds a blank space to the beginning or end of the file itself. This is sometimes called "encoder gap". If this encoder gap is not accounted for, then combining two compressed files together (even if they're at the same bitrate and such) will still leave a tiny audible gap in the file.
iTunes does not have any support for true gapless playback, and so it would be unable to correct for that encoder gap. Even if it did understand gapless, combining the streams like that is problematic for many other reasons. The only real way to do it is to re-encode them both, which causes a quality loss, so it's a bad idea to begin with.
Whereas joining CD tracks is mainly a matter of ripping them together into one track, which is easy because a "track" is just a marker, it's not an actual change in the datastream.
Suffice it to say that there are technical reasons behind it, and the overriding reason is iTunes lack of proper gapless support."
There, that seems pretty comprehensive to me. I hope this helps.

  • Join cd tracks-greyed out

I have searched this topic but the solutions don't seem to work or make sense. I have added 2 tracks to iTunes yesterday. They are random, but I labled them track 1 of 2 and track 2 of 2 so that I could join them. I don't see the sort by track in the very left. Name is first and I can move the track column to the right of name. I have then searched in a way that only brought up these two new tracks. I then clicked the tracks colum so that they were sorted 1 and then 2, highlighted both but still greyed out. I have tried this in AAC format (but didn't see anyone say you needed to do it in mp3).
Any help is much appreciated. I am using latest iTUnes on Snowleopard.

Join CD tracks is only active when you have a CD loaded and before you import the songs from the CD to your library: Adding Content to iTunes
If you've already imported the tracks it doesn't work. Put the CD back in and join the tracks prior to importing them. You can also have a look at Doug's iTunes scripts for this script which will join tracks after they've been imported Note: This script allows you to join any two (or more) MP3 tracks (it doesn't join other formats), provided that they are the same format and bit rate: Track Splicer
Doug also has this shareware program you might find useful (this will join AAC tracks as long as they are not ITunes Store copy protected versions): Join Together

  • I want to join 3GPP clips together, will Quicktime Pro do that?

I have the Droid and I took some amazing videos at a concert. They are in great quality and I would like to join the clips together to make one longer video. I tried using iMovie, but it doesn't support 3GPP format. I tried converting the files to a format supported by iMovie, but the quality was extremely diminished. Now, I'm looking for software that supports 3GPP files and will let me join clips together. Does Quicktime Pro do this?

Try just changing files extensions to .mov, then edit in iMovie or Quicktime.

  • Cannot Join Cd Tracks

    Hi,
My join cd tracks is greyed out. I been trying to join cd tracks into one. It did work but then after 4 months ago the join cd tracks got greyed out. I need this option cause i have single tracks that i would like to join into one. I did hightlight selected all i do see the blue but still no join cd tracks not avaible.
    Thanks

Are you trying to do this with a CD you are ripping or a CD that is already ripped as files on your computer?  iTunes will only do it with CDs as you are ripping them.  If it is other tracks you need to try using something such as the Join Together utility on the Dougscripts web site.
