Journal in iCloud, not on iPad

When I updated to iOS 6, it didn't go well, so I ended up doing a restore to factory settings. The journal I had made is still in iCloud, but (of course) it's no longer on my iPad. Is there a way to download it back to my iPad?

Did you backup your iPhone to iCloud? Then you could try to restore it from the backup, see:

    My notes on my iMac XOS 10.9.1 works perfectly from iCloud to my iPad 7.0.4 using the same iCloud account. But doing the same thing on my iPhone 4 with latest 7.0.4 show nothing on notes. But all contacts are fine???
    I have tried clearing my iCloud account on the iPhone and reinitialize it, but with no luck.
    Any clues?

    Try deleting the iCloud account and signing back in.  To do this, start by saving any photo stream photos you wish to keep to your camera roll (unless already there) by opening your my photo stream album, tapping Select, tapping the photos, tap the share icon (box with upward facing arrow), then tapping Save to Camera Roll.  Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, provide the password and choose Delete from My iPhone when prompted, then after 30 seconds or so sign back in.  (This deletes the account and the iCloud data from your phone but not from iCloud.  Your iCloud data will reappear on your phone when you sign back in.)
    Then check the notes app again.

    I created a journal on my iPhone and I published it on iCloud, no problem at all.
    Then I took my iPad and inside iPhoto I can see the journal cover correctly, however, when I try to open it, it shows only a grey background for a second (with the spinning wheel sign) and just disappears. There's no way to see my shared journal.
    I tried the opposite operation (creating the journal on iPad and try to see it on my iPhone) but it's the same.
    I have iOS 5.1 on both devices and iTunes 10.6, what should I do?

    I have the exact same problem. I picked up my New iPad this week and wanted to sync my journals. But on the iPad I can see the journals cover, but only get the grey background and spinning wheel when opening.
    I've tried to rename jounals, delete all journals, create a new journal with one picture, log in/out of iCloud and restarted borh devices (iPhone 4S and the new iPad).
    Is iCloud unstable at the moment, or is this common? BTW, my camera roll syncs just fine.

    turn your ipad off by holding the sleep wake button for 5 seconds and slide to turn off then turn it back on and the apps should be finished and if the apps didnt finish just redownload them

    I have never used this--on my ipad it says I have an account with icloud and that I can syn all my devices but there is no app for icloud on my ipad.
    I have never used my ipod myself--that is to put material on it.  A friend did it and I registered with Apple and I did have itunes and a list of my stuff on my old pc but it is gone.  I tried to get itunes on the pc I have--no sucess--5 + attempts yesterday.  Today I tried to link my ipod to icloud.  In the "settings" heading I do not have a "software" choice.  I do not know what to do.  Can someone help me.  I am not very pc literate--so you might get frustrated.  Thank You

    Hi, thanks for the suggestion. I have tried as you suggested, and when opening the "purchased" apps some have the icloud logo next to them, but I only have "OPEN" against "Find My iPhone". When opening it up, it goes through the same routine; needs to be updated before proceeding, and wouldn't update because I don't have IOS8.
    Anything else I could try, or am I doomed!

    Did you go into Settings > Store and then tap your old ID, sign out and then enter your new ID?

    I'm having a similar problem, but I do have the key and is not working anyway.
    My old pc was running on windows 7 and my new one is an apple running on Lion.
    My phone is an Iphone IV and I can see all the bookmarks there.
    In order to sync, what I did was click on the "I don't have the device with me", I entered the key that was provided and the process finish ok. It says congratulations, etc, etc.
    But the bookmarks are not there, I tried merging data and replacing data on this computer options but is the same.
    Any suggestions?

    Hi Kate, have you perchance enabled restrictions on your device. (Settings > General > Restrictions)

    You will have to provide the correct password to delete the existing account, if you have tried but are not getting the password reset email, contact Apple for assistance by going to https://expresslane.apple.com, then click More Products and Services>Apple ID>Other Apple ID Topics>Lost or forgotten Apple ID password.

    These are user-to-user forums, you are not talking to Apple here, so I've asked the hosts to remove your email address, postal addresses and phone numbers from your post.
    I'm not entirely sure what you are saying, but if those apps are crashing then have you tried toggling them 'off' and 'on' via Settings > iCloud ? And if that doesn't fix it then try closing them via the iPad's taskbar : from the home screen (i.e. not with any app 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of each app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
    You could also try a soft-reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.
    If it's a different problem ... ?

    Reset it by holding the power and home buttons at the same time until you see the Apple logo, then release.

    I have the same problem on my Windows 7 computer. In the right-click menu for a song one option is DELETE. However when I click that option the next window is to HIDE instead of DELETE. Apple, please help us with this.

    7. Set country
    8. Enable Location Service

    10. You'll be given 3 options (a) Setup as New iPad (b) Restore from iCloud Backup (c) Restore from iTune Backup
    11. Selected Restore from iCloud Backup
    12. You'll be required to enter Apple ID and Password
    13. Agree to Terms and Conditions
    14. Select Backup file
    15. You'll see progress bar
    16. Red slider will appear; slide to unlock; step #1 to #16 is fast
    17. Pre-installed apps will be restored first
    18. Message: Purchased apps and media will now be automatically downloaded
    19. You'll see a pageful of apps with Waiting/Loading/Installing
    20. When the restore process is complete, your device will restart. You should connect the device to iTunes to sync data not contained in the backup (such as music, videos, apps, and so on).

    i just purchased an ipad2-synced it with itunes on my pc and started icloud. I also have an iphone that I synced and started icloud on. Now, icloud does not seem to be working on my ipad. Automatic updates were sent to my PC and iphone, but did not sync with my ipad. I am trying to access documents that are in the Pages app- they are on my PC, on my iphone, and in the icloud, but I can't get them to go to my ipad. When I try to go to the icloud on my ipad, it acts like icloud is not set up on my device, but it already is. All settings are turned on, and it is listed under settings. I can't get to the log in page to access the cloud via the ipad. Any ideas?

    Ho attivato l'iTunes Match, che funziona correttamente sul pc e sull'iPhone 4S.
    L'ho attivato anche sul mio iPad, ma, tuttavia, dopo un breve periodo in cui ha funzionato correttamente, ha iniziato a dare problemi.
    Vi descrivo di seguito ciò che ho rilevato:
    - il periodo in cui l'iTunes Match ha funzionato correttamente sull'iPad è durato solo qualche settimana;
    - in seguito, anche se tutti i brani della Cloud venivano visualizzati sull'iPad, dava problemi nel senso che i brani non venivano riprodotti e, inoltre, la durata veniva indicata in "zero" per tutti i brani, sicchè, cliccandoci, non venivano riprodotti;
    - ho provato a disattivare e riattivare l'iTunes Match e, a questo punto il dispositivo ha dato il messaggio "tutta la tua libreria musicale verrà sostituita con quella su iTunes Match", mentre, nell'applicazione "MUSICA" erano spariti tutti i brani: veniva visualizzata, al centro della pagina, la nuovoletta del Cloud, con una barra di download sotto. Questo è durato per circa quattro giorni, senza che succedesse nulla, nel senso che la barra del download non mostrava segni di caricamento;
    - allora ho provato a ripristanare le impostazioni e, a questo punto, erano visualizzati di nuovo i brani, ma comunque senza possibilità di riprodurli (la durata di nuovo indicata come "zero");
    - nel momento in cui ho provato a cliccare su uno dei brani, è riapparsa la nuvoletta del Cloud con la barra di download sotto;
    - quando i brani ricompaiono, hanno sempre durata zero e non vengono riprodotti;
    - ho attivato anche la condivisione in famiglia ma il problema non cambia.
    Vi preciso che il mio iPad è della prima generazione ed è aggiornato all'IOS 6.
