JourneyEd

Hi. I have a couple questions. I was wondering if https://www.journeyed.com/ is a legit Adobe Software provider. As a student  I see that you save a lot of money on Adobe products through JourneyEd. One thing that made me suspicious is that for an additional 9$ you get "SoftWare replacement Assurance". What is this exactly? I can reinstall a software that I OWN for up to a year?? I'm a little confused there... Shouldn't I be able to reinstall any Adobe Software I purchase as many times as I like? I'm not understanding this and it sounds like some sort of scam.
Below is what it says in a dialog box after clicking the "what's this" link in the shopping cart.
What is Software Replacement Assurance?
Software Replacement Assurance (SRA) allows you to reinstall your software as needed for one year, even if you no longer have the original installation media.
Imagine that final exams are approaching and your computer crashes.  You restore your system, but the original media for your additional purchased software is lost or damaged, or your download instructions are gone.  What do you do now?
Get some peace of mind with Software Replacement Assurance.  If you purchase SRA, we will keep a backup of your CD Media or Download access for one year.
Depending on the product you purchased, you will either get a physical copy of the software or receive it as an electronic download. Either version will come with your unique Product Key, which you should keep in a safe place.  If your computer is damaged, lost, or stolen and you need a copy of the program again, we can get a new copy to you.  For media buyers we will send you a replacement copy overnight at no charge; if you purchased an electronic download, we can send you another download installation that same day.  Either way, you can simply use your existing Product Key to reinstall your missing software.

Since you are asking ahead of time, it is clear that YOU know to write a download to a DVD to be sure you have it in case your computer crashes, but there have been many questions asked in the various product forums I visit from people who did NOT write their download to disc, and need help because their product is so old that they can no longer find a download (or, they lost their boxed product and need a replacement)
The only way you would be able to download a new install from Adobe is if you buy from Adobe... download purchases from a 3rd party are handled by that 3rd party
Read the license agreement that comes with any software... you don't own the software, you are granted a license to install & use the program... this is not just Adobe... I don't know about "take back" so you will have to read the license agreement
I know of no risk of not being able to reinstall software, as long as you have the disc/download and your serial number... Adobe even allows you to install & activate on 2 computers (idea is desktop and laptop) as long as you don't try and use both at the same time
I mostly buy boxed software, but when I do buy a download I always write a copy of the file to disc... along with a text file containing the serial number
I also use drive imaging software to write a copy of my entire boot drive to a USB drive, so I may quickly restore in the event my boot drive crashes
This backup and then restore is, of course, only to the same computer with a new drive (or the same drive as long as you don't mind writing over everything) since doing a restore to a new computer won't work due to Windows and many programs having activation information that is keyed to your hardware (which is why Windows will force you to RE-Activate if you change very much hardware)
The product I use is at http://www.terabyteunlimited.com/image-for-linux.htm
Image runs off of a bootable CD via Linux (the Zip you download includes a program to make the bootable CD) and it reads EVERYTHING on the drive, even the hidden registration information, so everything is restored when needed... and you may restore the image to a brand new drive in case of a crash, and not have to re-install anything

Wow...  Didn't really realize how long it had been since I updated here... Quite a bit has happened! I'm only left with 3 or 4 of the above baddies as of now and my FAKO scores have climbed from the low 500's up to 580 - 590  range. So I'm happy about that for sure. Within the last week I applied for and was approved for a Fingerhut Account ($500), and a C1 Quicksilver One Card ($300). I also have a secured Mastercard with a $500 CL . The last few CA's are proving tough to deal with and I don't think they are going to fall off any time soon (I won't give up though!!)...  So I decided since my scores were creeping up to the 600 mark I should start rebuilding with new credit as you can see above. I'm very curious what kind of ceilings my score might see with these 3 or 4 baddies staying active? I know each credit profile is different, but I have seen some folks get as high as 660 - 680 even though they still have some CA's or other derogs reporting. This has been quite a challenge and definitely takes some perservance and close monitoring. It's still awesome to see the progress every one else is making, so ya'll keep it up!!Even with numerous derogs, as long as you keep up on everything, as those derogs age and you build current credit, its possible to hit 700 in about 2 years or so.Would this hold true even if the derogs are reporting on a monthly basis? Honestly could not say for sure - but if I had to geuss I would say probably not. The baddies I have left are with places notorious for not doing any PFD or GW removal. (CapOne, LVNV, First Premier)...  Should I just bite the bullet and pay these so at a minimum they stop reporting and as they age it will improve my score slowly? DoFD on all of them is throughout 2013 so they won't age off until 2020. Most of the experienced people will say yeah, if they are updating, bite the bullet so they can age. On another note, how much new, positive credit is enough? I have Fingerhut, 2 CapOne CC's and a Secured CC as well...  Obviously on time payments and CLI's will help over time...  I don't really want to go adding store cards (via SCT) for the sake of having more postiive TL's, but I will do it if it will help. My short term goal is to do whatever I can to get my scores close to 650ish so I can look at refinancing my current auto loan, or at a minimum getting a new auto loan and rolling negative equity into it so I can get rid of this 20% interest rate auto loan I currently have... It depends on how many negative accounts you have - the rule of thumb here is that you want more positive accounts than negative accounts (aside from collections). Thanks again to the community for all the help, and Happy Fathers Day to all the Dads out there!

Hey everyone!!!  I thought I would essentially start my credit rebuilding process with somewhat of a journal so to speak (as many others have done here, reading the stories and the progress is very inspirational!)...   I actually began doing this over a year ago when some life circumstances got in the way.  The only positive thing I managed to get done was completely rehabbing my defaulted SL's.  Now I have an account in good standing with Great Lakes.  I want to detail out all of baddies here and the actions I plan on taking so those of you with more experience and guidance can correct me if I'm headed in the wrong direction.  Be warned... I have a lot of garbage to take care of!!! First...  The Good: Auto Loan with Santander in good standing since 7/2013 - Would like to refi this when my score is better.  IR is awful currentlySL's with Great Lakes in good standing since 8/2014 Now THE BAD: Capital One Auto Finance:  Charged Off from a Repo in 2/2013.  Owed: $6,000 - Will attempt a PFD then a GW with OCCapital One  CC:  Charged Off.  Owed: $600 - No CA is on record - How can I proceed?Credit One Bank CC:  Charged Off - Have a CA with LVNV for this.  Owed: $1,300 - Will attempt a PFD then a GW with OCChase CC:  Charged Off.  I was only an AU on this account and I am trying to have this deleted via dispute, otherwise I will attempt a GWUSDOE Direct Loans:  I have 3 separate accounts for my SL's.  Each of these show as closed but have LPs recorded.  My SL with Great Lakes shows positive history dating back to the beginning of this account so I am trying to have these removed via dispute.  If that fails, then I will GW since my SL's are rehabbed and in good standing. Anyone have experience with this?First Premier CC: Charged Off.  Owed: $300 -  No CA is on record - How can I proceed?Credit Collection Services:  CA for an insurance bill.  Owe: $337 - PFDSecurity Collection Services: CA for a closed checking account.  Owe: $750 - PFDCashCall: This is currently 90 days late, but will be PIF this month.  Will GW to have lates removed once PIF completeDiversified Consultants: CA for ATT bill.  Signed for account for a family member and they failed to pay.  Owe: $275 - PFD As you can see I have a lot of work ahead of me.  Are any of the actions in red above the incorrect path to take?  Obviously I can't tackle them all at once, but am wondering if I should attack the smaller ones first just to work the negative TL's off my report?  I am hoping I may be able to rebuild to the point that I can get a smallish ($5k or so) installment loan at some point to help pay off the largest amounts above.   From reading about other folks journey's I know this process is a slow one that requires patience.  Good thing currently is that I have all of my CR's in hand and think I know what actions to take.  The last SW I received from myFICO had my Equifax score at 529 around 8/2014.  I will do a full score pull sometime before the end of the year so I have an official starting point.   It's strange to say but I'm actually excited to get this moving.  Wish me luck, and thanks in advance to all those who provide support and answer questions around here.  You are all awesome!!!          CapOne Auto: I would offer PFD. Worst case we be to settle in full for less. They like to sue.
CapOne CC: Offer PFD.First Premeir: Offer PFD. They are tough to deal with. I paid them in full and they deleted. However they never would agree to.Looks like you have a good plan for the other baddies. I would suggest that you start rebuilding with a few credit cards. Maybe start with a secured one. Good Luck

  • Looking hopeless, 400s scores starting hopeless journey to major credit repair

Hi everyone, I'm new  to this forum and myfico. I'm 25 years old and today I decided to get serious about fixing my credit. I got tired of believing that I'll never have a 700 score in my life and have been trying to make the steps necessary to fix some major damage. I was young and stupid and let every account in my early 20s get charged off. I've never made any consistent payments and due to all that stupidity and neglect, no one will take a chance on me now. In fact, I have now been declined for multiple SECURED credit cards, including Bank of America, TOTAL Visa, Wells Fargo, and CapitalOne which I thought was impossible. In fact, I've never been approved for anything nor have I even gotten close to being prequalified for anything. I checked my scores and I'm starting at 476 TransUnion and 490 Equifax according to credit karma and 500 Equifax, 492 TransUnion, and 497 Experian according to myFico. I've even gotten declined for a car loan to try to rebuild that route despite the fact my income is great. Money isn't a huge issue any more these days seeing as I don't really owe anyone money and have been paying everything in cash. I've got 7 charge offs, 2 of which from 2008 which I'm in the process of trying to get removed from my reports. I had a car loan that I defaulted on and got repossessed last year that I was able to fully pay off the day of the repo but is recent and still a major sting on my reports. The only revolving account I have is a $500 secured credit card from a local credit union. I also bought a blender from FingerHut today and will commence payments on that from this month on. I also tried this website called SelfLender that puts money into a savings account and said that it would report and help rebuild credit but haven't seen it reported on anything yet. I applied for Crown Jeweler's and am awaiting a decision. And I have a student loan that just entered repayment this month. What else can I do? Should I open more secured credit cards? More credit rebuilder loans through credit unions? With what I have right now, do I just sit back and wait? Do I dispute everything negative on my reports even if they're accurate? Some of you guys' stories have been inspirational. But right now I feel like there's really no hope since my scores are about as bad as they can get. Getting declined for secured cards and the idea that no one will take a chance on me even if I pay them to is really making all of this seem impossible. Any input would really help!

Any input would really help!Look at it this way - there's only one direction from here, and thats UP.Realistically, rebuilding is a long term process that takes a minimum of 24 months. Take it in 6 months increments. You already have a start with the secured credit card from the credit union.  Build on that. In a few months the FH account will start to grow. Keep watching your scores, they will improve as you move out from the last derog (the repo?). Once you get into the 500's consider getting a second secured card, either Cap One, or Open Sky.  Now, the 7 Charge offs - What are they, and when did each one occur? How are they being reported? Balances?BTW, you are pretty much right where I was last August when I started this journey. After one year of *mostly* just managing and using my credit cards effectively, I've come up about a hundred points.

  • Brothers credit journey of BRUTE FORCE (cont)UPDATE

UPDATE: Brother got AA on his Barclays Apple card today. They called him and said that even though he pays statement in full and on time, over 100 inquiries is simply too much and closed his account. On another note, he raised his Lowes to 12k and Exon&Chevron to 4k each today. If anyone doesn't remember my last post about my brothers "spree", here it is: http://ficoforums.myfico.com/t5/Credit-Cards/Brothers-crazy-credit-journey-PART-II/td-p/3815607 I no longer consider his journey to be a spree, it's more like brute force. He applies for about 20+ cards daily (including any prime cards, etc) and gets what he gets. He's very adamant about it and probably hasn't gone more than 3 days without applying for a few cards for the past 8 months or so. Today he messaged me that he got in with a Chase British Airways VS $3500 limit & 15.99%APR and some type of a Discover card. He probably has over 100 inquiries (last 6 months) on each bureau and 60-70+ new accounts reporting in the last 6 months. His next goal is to get in with AMEX & Citi and his overall goal is to reach the $1,000,000 available credit mark, he is currently at around $200k-$250k. I'm surprised myself, apparently applying once a day for every credit card ever works, haha.

  • Life is a like journey

You must have seen this famous movie-The lord of the ring,
the Lord of the Rings trilogy
a very long movie with each volum more than 2 hours.
The story of The Lord of the Rings takes place in an
    alternate pre-history, the Third Age
of Middle-earth. The lands of Middle-earth are populated by
    Men (humans) and other humanoid
races (Hobbits, Elves, Dwarves, and Orcs), as well as many
    other creatures, both real and
fantastic (Ents, Wargs, Balrogs, Trolls, etc.). The title of
the film refers to the story’s
main antagonist, the Dark Lord Sauron, who created the Rings
of Power and the One Ring that
rules them, the ultimate weapon in his campaign to conquer
and rule all of Middle-earth. From
quiet beginnings in the Shire the story ranges across
Middle-earth following the course of the
War. The wised wizard Gandalf give the most not ably
but very kind the hobbits, Frodo Baggins a task to destroy
the ring, and it will deciede the
destiny of the whole world of men. Through countless
difficulties and obstacles, with the risk of his life, through
    thick
and thin with his friends, Frodo finished his task finally
with the help of his friend Sam.The lord of the ring is destroyed,
the men won this war and the new kingdom which full of bright
    and laugh was built.
The fantastic must be grounded in the real and that all
stories are only ever a reflection of
ourselves. Our life is just like journey, a journey you have
to finish some tash, take some
responsibility. During this journey, you may be lured by all
    kinds of despicable thoughts which
make you betraying yourself. Just like the ring with the
power of black can lured peole changeing
    their nature.
But only the power of love and kindness can lead us finish
our journey. There are two sides in
man’s nature, one covered with shade, the other shined
with bright. Sometime the shadow side
will lead us to do something out of our mind. But the bright
sight will always guide us to do
the right things. There is a war inside ourself, because
there is only one thought can control
our action. And which side guide our thought will decide
    one’s character. And our character
will decide our sucess and failure. That is whether we can
    funish our journey.
Life is just like journey, find your mission, make the right
    choice,finish the journey,finish

Hey Spraoi head!! howsitgoan- how do you like the Apogee Ensemble? I'm built around protools HD and thinking of jumping over to Ensemble- Ceol- this lad knows his stuff!! I've recorded tunes that have been used professionally and many others have also on "2-track" or interfaces such as the Duet or mBox and as Spraoi says, it's how you use what you have and don't forget the most important piece of equipment you have is the pair of ears on your head- if it sounds good, it's good!! best of luck with your Duet- the output section gives you the same configuration as what most people have to listen on- stereo output so don't feel under qualified! There are lots of videos on youtube dealing with Logic- I find each DAW is an instrument and although there are certain universal aspects to Logic, everyone I've met or worked with uses it differently- pretty much in the way that two musicians play the same instrument but neither sounds the same- have fun

You may not have the iPod's Music tab set up in iTunes, which is how you tell iTunes how to automatically sync your iPod.
Select the iPod in iTunes.  There is a row of "tabs" (starting with Summary).  Click on Music there.
To use automatic syncing, the checkbox for Sync Music is checked.  Below that, you can choose to sync Entire music library, if it fits.  Otherwise, you can choose to sync Select playlists, artists, albums, and genres.
With the latter choice, you can create a selection of songs to sync to the iPod by selecting (checkmarking) playlists, artists, albums, and/or genres on the Music tab.  For example, you can make a playlist in iTunes with all the songs you want on the iPod.  That new album needs to be on that playlist, if you want those songs synced to the iPod.  On the Music tab, checkmark that playlist.
When you Apply the change, your selection of songs sync to the iPod (replacing its existing content). Going forward, any changes in the iTunes Music library that are related to your selection of songs on the Music tab sync automatically to the iPod when you connect it, or when you click Sync.
Therefore, if you create a playlist with songs you want on the iPod, and select it on the iPod's Music tab, you can simply update that playlist in iTunes (add and remove songs), and those changes sync to the iPod automatically at the next opportunity.

  • Crazy car journey

So,  with really bad credit in 2012 I financed a vehicle at 24.9% interest (a 6K vehicle). Made every payment paid it off at term.  This year, all the old baddies are falling off, decide to work with a credit union and see what kind of car loan I can get.  8%, 90% LTV, 20K 5 years. Ok, I can work with that, we can get a good reliable used car, and when my credit continues to improve maybe even refi.  So I walk into a local ford dealership to check out some cars on the site. They tell me "Hey, x credit union does our payroll and we run a million loans through them, give me your info and we will call and see if we can shave a couple points off" I say "Hey, I don't want any more hard inquiries, they already have my full credit profile" He says (of course) "No problem".  Sitting there for 5 minutes, what pops up on my phone? Transunion new inquiry!  I stalk the salesman into the finance woman's office, shove my phone in his face and go "WHAT DID I JUST TELL YOU?" I *ahem* politely let the finance person know that I want the inquiry removed, I have preapproved financing and I don't want any more finance applications. I MAY have scared her a little bit, and she begins apologizing profusely. That was unexpected because car finance people are generally the biggest pricks around in my experience. So I sit down and talk to her a bit. She says with my profile I'm tier 2 for Ford credit.  Well, today I am the proud owner of a brand new 2016 Escape with the options I wanted, no money down, a good fair price, and get ready for this.  1.9% interest on a 60 month term.  I have to take back what I've said about car finance people, they aren't ALL liars and crooks. She said "If you let me I will get you this" and she got it. There was 1 more inquiry from Ford, and nothing else from anyone else, no app shotgunning, no pressure tactics, no extra fees (Tax, Title, Doc fee which is 250 in my state). Clear final price for the vehicle, clear financing, and the lowest interest rate I've ever paid for anything, anywhere.  A crazy 24 hours after spending weeks looking for the right used vehicle. I again thank myFico forums for all the education I've gained here, my journey just keeps going up, and a house is next in about 2 years.

How did the sales person pull your report without your permission or ss#? If you gave all that info to the salesperson, they why were you surprised to see the inquiry? I'm glad that it worked out for you and congratulations on that nice new car.Oh no I gave him my information, completely my fault. I told him again and again not to pull my credit and he swore he wasn't going to, that he needed all my info to send off to the credit union.  As said upthread, 2 inquiries is nothing when car shopping, my prior bad experiences with dealers is what made me freak out. I remember at like 21 going to trade a car in, the salesman told me I could just turn the car in to the bank, as a voluntary turn in was different from a repo, and it didn't hurt your credit (I believed him, like the idiot I was at the time).  Then a few months ago we needed a car as our one car died, so I checked one dealer out, who then proceeded to tell me that stuff doesn't fall off your credit ever, so I'd better take their deal right now because it won't get any better. Left and bought something old and used for cash to get through the next few months. In the meantime they had shopped my credit to !!14!! different banks. It had made me wary to say the least.  Now we finally have 2 cars. My partner has been suffering for the last 7 years with us having only one car, which is difficult when you have an small child, I commute far to work, and we live in places without much for public transportation. So I added her to the loan after I was approved, put the title in her name, handed her the keys and said thank you for being amazing.   Great news...good for you.....Congrats.............Enjoy !!!!!!!!!!!!
