JPEG changing color during export to Word

When I export my file into Word, one of my jpegs changes color dramatically. From a gold hue to bright purple. Does anyone know why this might happen (no other colors in the file are changing) and how to prevent it?J

Are you sure that it is a .jpeg? This happens when the colorspace of the file is not defined or is alterred by the receiving System/Software. Usually .jpegs are OK but other formats may have different colorspaces that the PC System is not reading or reading incorrectly.
If it is not a .jpeg it maybe in a format with indexed colors, indexed in a low bit setting that is again being misread by Windows.
You could try opening and resaving the particular file in Apple's Preview.app to jpeg which should apply some colorspace at least a default one and may correct the problem.

  • JPEG changes color when I import to fcp 7

    I created this image on photoshop but when I import it to FCP, the grays become brighter. I've made sure it's already in RGB Color mode not CMYK. I've imported other pictures and there seems to be also a color change, not as drastic as this one though. So I believe it's a FCP problem not photoshop. Please help!
    EDIT: I'm on Mac OSX 10.7.5

    Delete the still from your project.
    Go to the menu Final Cut Pro > User Preferences.
    Click on the Editing Tab.
    Set "Imported Still/RGB Video Gamma" to 2.20.
    Click OK, and re-import the graphic.
    Does this help?

  • [JS, CS3] Change text color and export pdfs

    Hi there,
    I am new to scripting and I am trying to find out if a script exists that will export a PDF, then change all text of a certain color to black, then export another pdf with the same settings as the first, but appending the filename. I've searched the forum and understand about the change color bug, but I haven't seen anything in JavaScript -- It's all been applescript.
    Anyone have any brilliant ideas?
    Help is GREATLY appreciated!

  • Change background color during text edit mode

    THis is a wacky problem...
    I have a presentation template. The slide master has white copy in the title and black copy in the body/bulleted list.
    When I try to use the template and edit the title copy, the background color for editing that line is white, just like the text, so I can't see what I'm typing. I can't figure out how to change the background color during text edit mode so that I can actually see what I'm typing. Is there a way to make this transparent?
    For some reason, the body copy edit works fine: black text edited in either a white or transparent background color.
    help!

  • When I change my TIFFs to jpegs, the color and tone are changing as well [was: Need help please!]

    When I change my TIFFs to jpegs, the color and tone are changing as well, any ideas as to what the problem could be?

    You are screwing up the colors by not using color management or at least not keeping an eye what color space/ profiel your source files use anbd what happens when Safe for Web converts them. As a start, perhaps refer to this, then work your way through the Internet wide and far to learn about color management:

  • Change of colors during insert &query

    hi,
    i need to have different color for the text field when i query and another color during insert. i know i do have to
    make changes in visual attributes, but iam not exactly aware of it,so could any one kindly give me the details
    so that i could get what i needed or documents where i
    could find this details.

    Otherwise, instead of writing 10 times the SET_ITEM_... code, you can use a loop :
    ---- Beginning of the code --------
    v_blockname := Name_In('System.Trigger_Block');
    v_firstitem := Get_Block_Property(v_blockname,First_Item);
    v_lastitem := Get_Block_Property(v_blockname, Last_Item);
    v_curr_item := v_firstitem;
    LOOP
    -- write here the Set_Item_Instance_Property code (remember the name of the item is "v_blockname||'.'||v_curr_item") if the item is visible
    -- if it's the last item, exit
    IF v_curr_item = v_lastitem THEN
         EXIT;
    END IF;
    -- go to next item
    v_curr_item := Get_Item_Property(v_blockname||'.'||v_curr_item, NextItem);
    END LOOP;

  • Font color changes when I export to pdf

    I'm using Pages 08 still, and I'm creating newsletters, should be simple enough.  But when I export to pdf, there are portions of the text that change color.  For example, I have white text and a brown background, and for some reason the text changes to black.  The Pages document still shows it as white, it only happens with the exported pdf document.  I triend deleting the brown background layer, re-exported, but the font color still changes.  Thoughts?

    You have not said what version of Pages '08 you are using nor what version of OSX.
    For problems like these usually simply updating both Pages '08 and the version of OSX to the latest versions, fixes the problem. That does not mean upgrading to Pages '09 or OSX 10.8.2, just the latest of those you have installed.
    Failing that you need to look at what color model your text is. Stick to the cmyk that OSX's pdfs use and avoid rgb which is screen color.

  • During export from Discover to Excel, Time Format changes to Number Format

    Hi
    I have a seconds column which is of number datatype. But in my report, I am converting the number in *0HH:MI:SS* format. For example, I have *4952534 seconds*. So my report is showing *1375:42:14* which is a Time Format. It looks good when I view the data in Discoverer Viewer or Plus. But when I try to export the data to Excel, the time format gets converted to *4952534 seconds*, which is creating problems. So can you suggest on how can I preserve the formatting during export to excel from discoverer.
    Thanks
    Sachin

    Hi,
    Excel will not implement the 0HH:MI:SS data format, it just gets the field as a number. You will have to format the field into text using the calculation from my previous post.

  • Export to Word - list styles change

    I have saved a document with customised Legal style lists. When I export it to .doc and then open the file, the formatting of the list has not been retained. ie. What was Sub Para 1.1 becomes Para 2.
    Any ideas anyone - otherwise Pages is worthless if it cannot export to Word correctly

    As I wrote many times, if we want a perfect compatibility with Word, we must use Word or at least one of the free clones:
    open Office
    neoOffice.
    Pages is not supposed to clone 100% of Word features.

  • Windings Font ignored during PDF to word Export

    Hi,
    when i try to export a PDF with Acrobat XI to word or to RTF format the Windings and Webdings fonts are allways ignored.
    The Character itself gets exported, but it as "Times Roman". All other fonts works fine, but I need the squares from Windings.
    The PDF check shows that the font is include. And the font is active on my maschine.
    I'm using a OS X 10.8.3.
    Any ideas?

    I can confirm that there's a bug when exporting from a PDF to Microsoft Word on the Macintosh. I'd report your bug here:
    Adobe - Feature Request/Bug Report Form
    I created a block of text in Minion Pro Regular, and a few characters in Wingdings and Webdings in Adobe InDesign CC. I exported as a PDF file. Both the Wingdings and Webdings reported as an Embedded Subset (CID encoding).
    Here's the PDF file:
    Here's the result when exported to Word:

  • Placing from Photoshop to InDesign is changing colors of object

    I can't find anywhere on the Internet, through about an hour of searching now why my vibrant sRGB objects I made in photoshop look so drab when I place them in an InDesign file.
    I don't know if it's being changed from RGB to CMYK...I've tried a few different options from suggestions I found online that sounded like it might be the solution...but am still left with dead looking images.
    This is an example of how it looks like in photoshop
    And then what it looks like when I place it into an InDesign Document
    So, I don't know what's going on or why the color has to be changed like this...but hopefully one of you gurus can tell me how to fix this!
    The problem I have is that I created a brochure entirely in photoshop and I really don't like how the text gets pixelated when blown up or how it can't be selected if need be...so I'm recreating the brochure in InDesign...but this whole color change issue is really perturbing me!
    Thanks in advance for the help!
    Oh...and if there is a link somewhere out there that says how to make InDesign brochures so that the graphics show up sharp without taking up a ton of memory so the pdf's can be emailed...that would be awesome!

    to reduce file size--try exporting as PDFX1a (preset)
    In this case, that's probably NOT a good plan. PDF/X-1a converts everything to CMYK and only downsamples images above 450 ppi and then only to 300 ppi. It's meant for press. For email I personally would start with the [High Quailty Print] preset, then use the PDF optimizer in Acrobat Pro to flatten the transparency and downsample the images, to 150 ppi to start, but you may need to go further, and to throw out most of the extraeoous document info your readers don't need (basically check every box except the one to unembed fonts). I think the flattening in Acrobat is better than flattening in ID during export and most of the rest is only available in the PDF optimzer. If you don't have Acrobat Pro, try the Smallest File Size preset in ID.
    Keep in mind that there is ALWAYS a tradeoff between file size and image quality. You are shooting for a middle ground.

  • "export to word" not showing as an option (mac)

    I am using the free trial specifically to try exporting an annotated .pdf to Word and then accepting and tracking those annotations in Word.  The 1 minute video seemed very easy. Problem is, I don't see "export to word" as an option under the comment options.  I did see an "export to word" under "tools", but that did not allow me to accept the .pdf annotations in the Word document.  Any help is appreciated.

    After Opening PDF in Acrobat (not Reader):
    Go to file menu
    Click on Save as Other.
    Choose Word Format for .Docx type files.
    Choose desired location to save.
    Save File.
    Quit Acrobat
    Open Word.
    NOTE: Acrobat and PDF has no concept of Line Breaks. So you will have to repair Broken sentences manually. If a Long document a very long task. I'm not sure if the annotations can be removed easily. Because Word's Track changes will work. You may have to manually remove Tracked changes items or change them Manually. You should get hold of the original Document. Accept changes, turn off Tracked changes, and save the original document. Then if you have Acrobat XI on a Mac:
    go to File Menu Print
    Click and Hold on the PDF Button
    When Context menu pops up choose Adobe PDF.
    Now follow the steps as they come up. First window you choose quality of PDF this basically Distiller Job Options. I usually use the first that comes up (High Quality) .
    Second item that comes up Choose name or edit name given (I usually alter the (example) Name from Microsoft Word -Sample.docx.pdf to Sample.pdf), then choose (Browse) the desired location to save file., Then choose Save.
    Note: Acrobat Mac has two long standing bugs Adobe refuses to fix. (They Blame Microsoft and Apple)
    URL's and Mailto:'s unless they have been created by Word/Excel's AutoCorrect doesn't come over you have to manually add the links and even then they don't change color to blue nor do they underline (If you create URLs.Mailto through the URL Wizard (Insert menu > URLs) you will have to manually create them Yourself.
    Next if you have any Section Breaks or page Breaks Inserted (Insert Menu > Breaks > Page Breaks, Column Breaks, Section Breaks Continuous, or Section Breaks next page; you may have multiple PDF's created.  And have to piece them back together.  And especially with pages that switch orientation (Portrait, to Land scape).
    There is absolutely no excuse for these bugs to languish for 15 years, but Adobe has no intention of ever fixing them. They say its up to Apple and Microsoft to fix problems actually belonging to them
    It been proved time and time again by just taking such files and opening on a Windows Machine and there is no issues. In creating PDF's.

  • Getting darkened/ washed out colors when exporting png from illustrator

    Hey everyone I'm trying to figure out a remedy for this, I am getting darkened less saturated colors when exporting a logo png from illustrator, jpeg's looke fine, even when copying this logo into indesign and exporting the colors look fine there as well. I think it has something to do with the icc profile being embeded in jpegs but not pngs, but I'm not sure. My illustrator document is set to display blacks accurately, document color mode is set to RGB, assign profile is set to working RGB: sRGB, and under color settings working space is sRGB and cymk is U.S. Web Coated SWOP v2, color management policys off for RGB and conversion options Adobe ACE (all under the color settings options). I've also tried to create a new file for web and copy and pasted my logo and tried to export that way and it didn't do anything. Any jpeg will look fine, the png even in save for web will look fine until I export or preview. My only current remedy for png at this point is to export it as is, then open it in Mac's Preview and turn up the saturation. Any help would be appreciated, I'm also using Illustrator CC and am on mac 10.7.5, thanks.

    Any other solutions? I notice if I open the AI file in photoshop and export the png from there with "embed icc profile" checked then I get the same colors that I see while in illustrator, and when I export jpegs from illustrator, but exporting pngs from illustrator always changes the color/ makes the colors look duller.
