JPEG file viewer for MAC 10.4 tiger

Hi,
My mac (laptop) doesn't open jpeg files.
Is there anyone who knows which free program I can download to view jpeg files?
Thanks.

If Preview is not opening when you double-click on a jpeg, Get Info on the jpeg file and set Preview to be the default application for viewing jpegs. Click on the Change All button to make all jpegs open with Preview.

Is anybody know best image viewer for Mac..?
I like Windows Explorer Image view .. you just open one file and left and right will scroll though .. can do it in full screen too.
I try a Photo+ and everything is ok, but again must select all pictures or folder to open many photos. I click to one photo in folder, Photo+ open only clicked photos

Try this one... it's called Privcy
    https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/privcy/id828281323?ls=1&mt=12
Can easily navigate using cursor keys. What I like is that as you move past the last image it automatically shows the next folder or zip. Ideal for quickly looking at pictures.
Also you can paint/airbrush pictures immediately...

  • RAW files converted to JPEG files on my mac can't be seen by my customer who has a PC: WHY?

I have been using Adobe CS5 for over a year now but only recently discovered how Adobe Bridge helps with work flow and post processing. My first time using Bridge I put all my RAW NEF files into folders and, after processing them in Photoshop, put all the JPEG files into a seperate folder. Before sending said JPEG images to my client, I batch renamed them to make sure the image file numbers were in the proper consecutive order. My client, who is a PC user, received these images and said she was unable to view them. Her computer system isn't outdated and I'm not sure what the issue is. I'm wondering if there was a formating change that happened when I did the batch rename or if the problem is Adobe Bridge altogether? I did all these on my Mac Book Pro which is only a year old..What am I missing??

Did each image have its .jpg extension? i think Windows likes to see the extension, Macs don't care.

  • Photo Viewer for Mac

Is there an equivalent of Windows photo viewer for the mac?  I don't want to edit images in it, I just want to view in full screen and to go forward and back thought the images, with simple options to 'view at 100%' 'flip left/right', 'enlarge' etc. This is not big difficult stuff right?
I've played with iphoto and dislike it enough to delete it, you can download free apps better than iphoto. I've tried both preview and quick look but don't like them at all.  If I select an image it always opens in 'preview' but the 'previous/next icons are always blacked out? Why?
If I use 'quick look' I can move forward/back using the keyboard but it never opens full screen, it always opens to the 'fit screen size' and then really irritatingly jumps about in size all over the place depending on the next image size.  It's ok if I drag it to full screen, after which it acts pretty much like windows viewer except there are no options to open an image in an editing app, view at 100%, enlarge, flip left/right etc.
In short it's a poor viewer, I guess that's why it's called quick view uh?  Is there some amazing mac facility that I'm missing here. I could just about live with 'quick look' if it always opened full screen but can't see any way to do this.

Preview IS the Apple version of Windows Viewer and its more powerful opening PDF, editing , JPEG, TIFF and other formats.it will even do audio !
Oh and clearly you don't get iPhoto it is a viewer light editor and photo image database. Again far more powerful than Windows Viewer.
Infact its data storage is based on industry standard Aperture.
Quick view is effectively a built in PDF/inline viewer tool within the finder than allows just about any document to be viewed irrespective of format.Probably nearest to what Windows Viewer actually does
It has no editing tools and that not its function.
To open it full screen you hold the ALT key whilst clicking the document in finder
You DO have the opton to open in a specific app at the top of a Quickview window by default it usually says Open Preview however just right click and a list of all potential applications are then listed. You then choose the one you want.
When you select an image from the finder to open in Preview that's exactly what it does- Opens that specific image. IT does NOT load the entire folder because its a separate application - NOT part of finder !
Again you need to work through iPhoto its really has more going for it than you think and no there really aren't better FREE apps out there.
Oh and why the need for full screen viewing - THAT really is a windows hang out. MAC OS is designed such that windows open to the maximum size to display content rather than a locked full screen model by default.
That said if you look in to top right of the window bars click those two divergent arrows you go full screen.
Sorry to say you really have to change your work flow else you may just have to go back to Windows .
As for alternative image viewer depends how much you want to spend and from the sounds of it nothing !
    Options
    Adobe Lightroom
    Adobe Photoshop Elements
    Adobe Photoshop (Full)
    Pixelmater
Install the X11 OS UNIX environment and run GIMP
    Try out Graphic Converter.
    Anything else ?

  • How do I get a Captivate SWF file converted for MAC products?

I thought I'd be able to publish to HTML5 and then use the APP Packager to get the file in a formate for Macs, but the HTML5 file doesn't work correctly.  The program has 62 slides, and may just be too long to convert to HTML5.
I really need my program to work on MACs, and my SWF runs perfectly.

Okay - the big question must be:
    1) Are you trying to publish an HTML5 compatible course, which users can view on their iPad using the Safari browser?
    or
    2) Are you trying to publish your course as an App, which must be uploaded and distributed through the App Store?
If it is number 1 then it is as Rod says. You need to upload all the published files to a web server. The users can then access your course in their Safari browser on the iPad by going to the URL (www.yourdomain.com/mycourse/)
If it is number 2 then you'll need to :
    a) Get an Apple Developer ID
    b) Run the course through the Adobe Captivate App Packager
    c) Upload the finished App to the App store.

  • Free Font Viewer For Mac OSX

Font Sampler for Mac OSX is a small freeware utility to help you view your fonts. Font Sampler allows you to view all your fonts in one big list. It supports different colors of backgrounds and text, size, your own custom phrase to view the fonts in, and the ability to underline the fonts.

I can understand why they make it look like that, but the older versions are free, it's just the new pre-release that actually requires it, you can skip the donation here...

  • .dat Viewer for Mac

Hello, I'm a totally new for Mac and I have a silly question.
Is there a software that allow me to view .dat file in Mac?
    Please help me out.
    Thank you

Actually, I must disagree with Peggy, not all .dat files are Windows files. In fact, if you often use Spotlight, you may find .dat files all over your mac embedded within many applications(found over 40 on mine alone). For instance, WritersCafe uses .dat files to contain an entire project's data.
Consequently, AppleWorks uses .dat files as well for things such as spreadsheets.
DAT files are data files and are not absolutely Microsoft.
My question to you would be, What is the .dat file supposed to be? Is it a winmail.dat which you received randomly in an email? If it is, disregard it as most winmail.dat files are from people using Microsoft Outlook and the file is only for formatting in the email message. If you arent using Outlook, the email message will never look the way it was formatted so just disregard it.
If the file is from Appleworks and you dont have it, have the person you received the file from, export the file to something readable like .csv (comma separated values)and then import it into another program such as Excel!
On the other hand, if you are trying to read the file in Appleworks and the .dat file was created for another program, you may have a problem with formatting. You really need to find out what program created the .dat file and let us know here so we may be able to help further.

  • Import CSV file Skype for Mac

Cannot seem to import contacts.  It is well hidden if it is possible, if not, it is a ridiculous omission.
    Dear Skype;
Please add the feature of importing contacts from a CSV file, or better yet from a google account.

There is no way to import contacts directly into Skype for Mac from a CSV file. However, you can import contacts (with email and phone information) into Contacts.app. These system contacts can then be viewed in Skype using the Mac Contacts feature. See Preferences > General > Show Mac Contacts.
Part of the reason that it's not currently possible to import contacts in this way is because of the hadshake required: you must send a contact request to each contact you wish to add to your list. This includes a message explaining who you are, and why they should add you. Most people won't be able to receive a call or IM from you until they've accepted your contact request.
One last thing: your contact list is stored in the cloud. So when you log into Skype for Mac, you'll see your list of contacts just as it was on your Android device (for example).

  • Need native InDesign file viewer for Windows

We are evaluating the usage of InDesign as a layout programm for web sites. At the moment we do create our mock ups using Photoshop.
A great thing about that: At least the flattened photoshop layout can be viewed by everybody in our company.
Now - as we do have .indd files there is a desire to have a look on the work results without having a full copy of InDesign installed!
At least for Mac there is http://www.code-line.com/software/sneakpeekpro/
But we still need a file viewer für native InDesign files on Windows!
    Any suggestions?

    1. You can change the preview size of your documents in Preferences -- it's under File Handling. Other than most of the preferences, this is a system-wide setting, so you don't have to change it per document. Opening, then forcing a file to save (you have to change something or use Save As) will update the previews in the file. I've read that CS5 allows you to save a preview of more than the first spread.
    2. http://www.jongware.com/binaries/extractIdThumbnails.zip (Windows) -- drop an InDesign file on this, and it will extract the preview (or previews) into the same folder the file came from. Only works, of course, if there *are* previews in that file. Seems to work fine with CS4, I only have one or two CS3 / CS5 files to test with and it theoretically *should* work with those as well.
This doesn't bring the count of InDesign viewers to '1', though. The file format of InDesign is WAY too complicated to make a 'real' file viewer.
... How about Bridge? Did you try that?

  • Anyone can suggest a 3d file viewer for SnowLeopard that reads 3ds/obj/etc?

    Hi there
I am looking for a file viewer that is able to read 3d files and display them (not modify them); kinda like p3do or thubsplus for pc.
as now there is no trace anywhere of any software like this on a mac; and considering that many applications like maya and c4d runs on a mac, i am surprised that there is no app that visualize 3d files.
thanks in advance for the replies; otherwise gotta continue to rely on parallels and p3d0 and switch back and forth between OS.

    Thanks Tom
Indeed Photoshop opens obj, but i can open them already with my 3d modeling software, so this does not solve my problem.
picture this: i have 550 Gb of 3d models; and when i need a building i have 2 options: open each building one by one, or load parallels and use p3d0 and browse trough them, then switch back to my 3d software and load the model; then gotta look for the textures.....as you can imagine, unless i have a software that actually display a bunch of files in a directory, giving previews, my job gets at the limit of frustration
I can't believe that nobody wrote an app for mac like that...the best taht i have found so far is a viewer called TNGViewer, that is able to load some 3d formats, but one at time....
my search continue; hopefully with some help; otherwise i guess that i can write the app and just sell it as shareware for 9 dollars either i will get rich or i will not sell a single copy, since nobody cares to do what i want to do

  • Apple releases Java update for Mac OS X Tiger

Apple released J2SE 5.0 Release 4 on Tuesday, an update for Mac OS X 10.4.5 Tiger users. According to notes provided with the update the release delivers improved reliability and compatibility for the Java 2 Platform Standard Edition 5.0. With today's release J2SE 5.0 becomes the preferred Java version, superseding Java 1.4.2. Apple notes that Java 1.4.2 is still installed on the machine, but applications will run with J2SE 5.0 unless they specifically request Java 1.4.2. The update is available as a download from Apple's Web site

  • When I convert a file (Word for Mac) my links are no longer clickable.

I created a document in Word for Mac that included several hyperlinks. When I convert the file using Acrobat to a PDF, the links are still colored and underlined but no longer can I click through on them. How do I maintain the click through ability in the PDF form?

I am using Adobe Acrobat XI from the Creative Cloud. On a Mac. Apparently keeping links clickable from Word/Mac to Adobe Acrobat is a known issue).
See this forum thread I later found after posting this question: Losing links when saving Word 2011 Mac to Acrobat Pro X 10.1.3
I was successful in exporting to Pages then creating a PDF, however, I had to spend time adjusting quite a bit of formatting, which was less than ideal. And some formatting (like quote boxes) changed in Pages and I cannot get the Word version of the Quote Box. So again, not idea There are some other fixes mentioned in the link above that I am going to try.
