Jpeg filesize preview is missing when closing Photoshop

In CS5 when working on multiple Jpeg files, I used to close Photoshop to force each file to save. This would bring up a file size preview for each file, allowing me to adjust the quality if necessary before saving (to ensure all files were around the same size).
It seems this doesn't work in CC so the only way I can force Jpeg file sizes to appear is if each one is closed individually, rather than all at once.
This method really speeds up my workflow and avoids errors when working to a deadline so I'm hoping someone will know what I'm talking about and have a solution - maybe it's just a setting but I can't find one.

Same thing. Interestingly, if I select the last JPG opened and then close all, that one does show the file size (just not the rest).
You can replicate this by opening a number of original JPGs, editing each one (e.g. auto contrast), then trying to close all at once. The JPG compression window will come up, but the part where it shows the file size doesn't show up (that works fine when closing files down one by one).
As I said, this worked great in CS5 so I'm not imagining it!

  • Error when closing Photoshop CS5 Ext- Windows 7

This isn't a big issue, because at least it happens when I'm done with PS and not while I'm using it, but whenever I exit the program, whether by using the X in the corner or by using File->Close, I get an error afterwards saying "Adobe Photoshop CS5 has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Please close the program."
Is there anyway to stop this from happening, because it is rather annoying after a while.

    "Thank you for your support".
For what it's worth scratch what I said above about 12.0.1 fixing my own issues.  I'm occasionally seeing Photoshop hanging around after exiting; I just made another post on the subject myself.  Not seeing crashes at that point though.
I'll bet Chris Cox will find interesting your observation about being a user vs. administrator.
Photoshop may require write access to files or registry entries that would not necessarily be available to it if you're using the app as a different user than the account under which it was installed.  It will be very interesting to hear what the resolution to this is.  I believe I will create another user and try it to learn what it's trying to access.

  • When client open folder with html files to preview web site, some pictures are missing when previewed.

However all images are in "images"folder. Same images are missing when previewed in Firefox and Explorer.
    Any idea why?
    Thanks.

Are you sending this other person all of the image files in
the same relative location as they are on your local computer?
For instance, if you are sending them index.html and your
images are in a folder called images, you should be sending them a
Zip file with the following enclosed:
    index.html
    images (folder)
    image1.gif
    image2.jpeg
If you are sending this type of structure to your other
party, check the links in code view. Make sure they are relative.
If they are, on the index.html page they would look like
images/image1.gif. If it says anything like C:/ or something that
points to a local drive they you will need to make sure the image
are within the site definition and then save the files
    again.

Then why are the guides unlocked when I reopen a document that I saved with the guides locked ?

  • Missing something on stacks? The current pick isn't on top when closed

I'm a learner Aperture user and having fun learning it. Missing something at the moment though. I am working with stacks and promoting one image to the top of the stack, so it shows first in the group of shots. However, when I close the stack, the previous #1 keeps going to the top.
I've tried rating the pick higher than the others, clicking 'Primary Only' and various other things, but the same thing keeps happening: I can't get my new pick to sit on top of the stack when closed.
What am I doing wrong? Am I missing something obvious or have I struck a bug?

Sounds like the image that keeps going back to the top is an Album Pick. You can have different picks for different albums- which can be quite handy at time.
Select your pick then go to the stacks menu and choose "Set Album Pick". See if that works.

  • When using photoshop do i use the jpeg version of my photo or the raw version - as I have both

When using photoshop do i use the jpeg version of my photo or the raw version - as I have both?
    Please can someone advise?

If you use the RAW version to edit with PS you'll have to save the results to the Desktop and import it into the library as a new file.
If you edit the jpeg version must make sure to flatten the image before saving normally so the extension remains as a jpg file. Here's some more info on that:
Using Photoshop or Photoshop Elements as Your Editor of Choice in iPhoto.
1 - select Photoshop or Photoshop Elememts as your editor of choice in iPhoto's General Preference Section's under the "Edit photo:" menu.
2 - double click on the thumbnail in iPhoto to open it in Photoshop.  When you're finished editing click on the Save button. If you immediately get the JPEG Options window make your selection (Baseline standard seems to be the most compatible jpeg format) and click on the OK button. Your done.
3 - however, if you get the navigation window
that indicates that  PS wants to save it as a PS formatted file.  You'll need to either select JPEG from the menu and save (top image) or click on the desktop in the Navigation window (bottom image) and save it to the desktop for importing as a new photo.
This method will let iPhoto know that the photo has been editied and will update the thumbnail file to reflect the edit..
NOTE: With Photoshop Elements  the Saving File preferences should be configured as shown:
I also suggest the Maximize PSD File Compatabilty be set to Always.  In PSE’s General preference pane set the Color Picker to Apple as shown:
Note 1: screenshots are from PSE 10
Note:  to switch between iPhoto and PS or PSE as the editor of choice Control (right)-click on the thumbnail and select either Edit in iPhoto or Edit in External Editor from the contextual menu. If you use iPhoto to edit more than PSE re-select iPhoto in the iPhoto General preference pane. Then iPhoto will be the default editor and you can use the contextual menu to select PSE for your editor when desired.

Why my preview keeps freezing when I make several underlines in pdf file? It keeps saving and freezing.

This is my first time posting here, so I'm sorry, I re-read my post several times and honestly did think I provided enough information, but you're right, it wasn't the right kind. So please (continue to) bear with me, I'm really not trying to be ignorant. I honestly assumed the issue was something I was doing wrong in Bridge, nothing to do with my computer specs.

Is there any information you need that I missed? I'm trying not to be a dingus, but I'll have to ask you to be patient with me in the meantime. I haven't ever looked up half the hardware/software details that were suggested and I don't know how to off the top of my head, so I provided what I already knew how to

  • Saved psd file as jpg by accident and closed photoshop.

hi, I have saved my logo as a jpg file instead of psd and closed photoshop, now I do not have any layers to edit my project. Please help me if this is possible to fix.

No, you only have what is in the JPEG. This is why you are forced to save a COPY when saving JPEG, so you still get a warning to save when you quit.

  • Error message when closing PSE10 normally

I get the messaage "The application Adobe Photoshop Elements Editor quit unexpectedly" when closing PSE10 normally.  I'm running Mac OS 10.5.8. Can anybody help?  I've already tried uninstalling Epson printer/scanner drives, re-installing PSE, and repaired permissions.....
    Thanks
    Ray

    Hi Barbara B,
Not that I'm aware of.  I only installed it for the first time yesterday. I already had PSE 8/Bridge which I've since deleted. I had a similar problem with the PSE8 but fixed it by deleting and re-installing an Epson scanner driver.  Didn't work this time though.  Having said that, the issue with PSE10 appears to be erratic (PSE8 was constant). It's not actually doing it at present!

  • Mountain Lion freezes for few seconds when closing tabs

    Hi all,
When closing tabs on Google Chrome, usually after "heavy" navigation (HD flash video or several pdfs opened for examples), Moutain Lion sometimes freezes for less than 10 seconds and then back to normal. The trackpad is still responsive but I can't do anything appart moving the pointer. It appears around two times in one hour. In never appends with other applications like Photoshop or games.

  • When closing a Word doc can you stop 'Do you want to keep this new document?'

    Hi,
Everytime I close a Word document I keep getting the save document dialogue box appearing with the text 'Do you want to keep this new document [filename]?You can choose to save your changes, or delete this document immediately. You can’t undo this action.'.
How can you stop this? I just want to be able to open a Word document, view it and close it without the hastle of being asked if I want to save it or delete it.
Thanks for any help on this.
    P.

    Hi Pete,
When you open a Word document in Pages, it is converted to Pages format. Pages is asking if you want to save as a Pages document (and replace the Word document). You can stop the Save dialogue box by:
System Preferences > General > Uncheck Ask to keep changes when closing documents.
However, I would be careful. This will apply to all documents that you open in Pages (or Numbers or other apps). You might have a Pages document where you do want a reminder to save. Small problem to say 'Don't Save' to a Word document that you open to view, but don't want to save. I find it is safer to turn on 'Ask to keep changes when closing documents'. That puts you in charge of your work.
Another way to just view a document is to open the document in Preview or TextEdit (right click or control click, Open With).
    Regards,
    Ian.
