Jpeg photos won't transfer to 2G nano

Hello - I've recently upgraded from an ipod mini (1G) to an ipod nano (2G). I'm running firmware 1.1.1, and itunes 7.02.
Whenever I try to transfer a jpeg photo to my nano, I get an error message saying - "Some of your photos, including the photo xx.jpg, were not copied the ipod because they cannot be displayed on your iPod."
Strangely, bitmap (.bmp) files transfer across to my nano without any problem. I've tried the 5 R's but it's not solved the issue.
What could be wrong? Help me, please!!

Only cropped photos won't transfer

For some reason, photos that I crop on both my iPhone 4S and my iPad 2 won't transfer to my Windows 7 PC; instead, the original version is transferred. I have tested this and photos that I have edited one of the other 3 ways (rotate, enhance, red eye) show up on my computer they way they've been saved to my Camera Roll. Is there a problem with cropped photos in iOS 6 right now?

This is normal. As I know only iPhoto recognize these changes. Crop them in your computer.

Edited photos won't transfer

After I edited photos on phone they will not transfer to computer. Unedited ones will.

However, that software costs $40. The free trial only allows 20 photos to be transferred, then won't work any more,
This is really a bug or quirk in how iOS works. Edited photos should be transferable just like unedited originals. Its ridiculous that it doesn't, and that 3rd party work arounds are being suggested as a 'solution'.
iPhone users who paid $400-$800 for the phone, that has a camera, built in photo editing support, that can transfer unedited original pictures, should not have to go spend $40 to compensate for a shortcoming in the product, because customers can't transfer photos they've taken & edited on the very phone they bought from Apple.
More & more, Apple is referring customers to 3rd party products, work arounds, & band aid fixes, rather than truly supporting their products and producing proper fixes & solutions for their product shortcomings and bugs.

Photos won't transfer to MacBook Pro from iPhone 5

Since I upgraded to iOS 8.02, I can't find a way to get my photos from my iPhone to my MacBook Pro. Before, when I connected my phone via the Lightning Cable, Image Capture automatically launched (along with iTunes), and the photos were available for transfer. Now, Image Capture doesn't launch, and when I start the program up manually, it doesn't show the iPhone as a device. iTunes seems to be working properly, everything syncs fine. Same thing happens in my regular photo program (Photo Mechanic -- I do not use iPhoto).
I've tried two different cables, same result.
How do I fix?

This has never been a feature of iphone/ipod/ipad.
Iphone supports bluetooth for stereo speakers/headsets, handsfree telephone, some keyboards, some apps, and internet tethering if provided by the carrier

Sleek photo won't transfer WMA fil

I have just got a sleek photo and went to transfer some of my music, but after the transfer appearing to work, it says 'not transfered-unknown error'. In fact, the ONLY file that transfered was one that was in MP3 format. I'm confused, any ideas?

Are they copy protected files? Try transfering with Windows Media Player.

Just got a nano. Wanted to take all my music from my computer that I had even before I had Itunes not all were bought from itunes. I loaded them into itunes and all of them won't transfer to nano only the ones that I brought from itunes. why not all?

I just purchased a Nano. I have a ton of music that I on my computer from before I had a nano and had a mp3 player. I never had a problem transferring that music before. So I didn't purchase them from Itunes. Now that I have a Nano I want to put all those songs on my nano. I also have a iphone that I did buy some songs so those will transfer on my nano. All of my music shows up in itunes but won't transfer to my nano. grrrr. Any thoughts?

To confirm, al songs are already in your iTunes library of current computer, and they all play using iTunes (on the computer)?
And you are saying all the songs you purchased from the iTunes Store can be synced to the nano without any problems? But NONE of the other songs (that are NOT from the iTunes Store) can be synced to the nano, or SOME of them?

Games and podcasts are showing up in my source list but won't transfer

My son just upgraded from an ipod shuffle to a nano 2nd gen. I have downloaded the latest version of itunes. He bought a game and got some podcasts. They show up in the source list but won't transfer to the nano. I have tried restoring the nano but that did not help. Any suggestions?

Make sure to enable podcasts on the iPod nano. When you plug it in pick the iPod nano in the source list and then click on the podcasts tab. Then enable the transfer of the ones you want. I believe that the games are only playable on the 5th gen iPod not the nano. Sorry about that

Transfer of JPEG Photos to 8gb nano crashes (blue screen) my Vista PC

I have today taken delivery of the new 8gb nano iPod. I have downloaded the latest Itunes and software etc. I have loaded the nano with music without any problem.
When I try to transfer a few JPEG photos from my PC (using the process detailed in the downloaded manual) to the nano, the PC crashes and the Windows Blue Screen (dump screen) appears. I have reduced the resolution of the photos but each time I try to transfer the photos, the PC crashes.
I am running Vista Home Premium OS on a 3 month old fairly high spec PC.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

This isn't what you want to hear, but I'm convinced there are lots of incompatibility problems with iTunes and Vista. At some point, Apple needs to acknowledge that audio/video intensive apps (like an iPod) will be run on higher end machines (with Vista) and put some real effort into that OS.
I sync my photos (and even videos) on an XP machine; the only thing I leave to Vista is music (and not even that all the time). Of course, that only helps folks who have access to an XP machine. In addition, I STILL haven't upgraded my firmware beyone 1.0 (still see too many issues with 1.0.2 and 1.0.3).

I have Vista (don't laugh) and my videos are transferred over when I plug in my phone. They don't open up in Winodws Picture Viewer though.
They are under my Photos, under the date created by the sync. Do a search I'm sure you'll find them.

A few of the photos will not transfer as they are saved as jpeg.rem files

I'm new to this board and trying to transfer pictures and videos from my Blackberry Bold (work one with T-mobile) to
my PC. I tried to do it by using media card reader and was sucessfully able to most of the files
but for some reason a few of the photos will not transfer as they are saved as jpeg.rem files
on my media card. Any ideas why would some of the pictures would be save in a different format
and any suggestions how to transfer them?
I have the same issue with the videos..out of 20+ that I have on the device memory i was only
able to copy about 5 that are in .gp format...rest of them will not open as it appears to be encrypted.
I also have a blackberry curve (with AT&T) as my personal phone...would it read my media card from the
Blackberry Bold?

The .rem files indicate these files are encrypted. This article should help.

mmchisholm - just so you know you're not alone, I too am having the exact same issue as of latest software update bundle. Have to manually add each photo until Apple issues solution or minor software update.

I have a polaroid pogo bluetooth printer. I already knew that I couldn't print from my iphone 5 when I bought it. But when I transfer jpeg photos that were taken on my iphone 5 to my laptop (windows 7) it will not print those photos either.

It will print any jpeg photo that has been transfered to my laptop except the photos taken with my iphone. Has anyone else had this problem and does anyone have a solution?

Do you see them to transfer? I know the camera kit requires a very specific naming convention, file names of exactly 8 characters. If your videos don't follow that then the iPad won't 'see' it to import video
Or do you see the files but they just won't transfer across?
