Jpeg pictures Pixelated

I just finished a piece where I incorporated video footage and stills from a photographer. I exported the project out using DV/DVCPRO and for some reason the pictures became blurry and pixelated when I put the project on a DVD. All the pictures are clear when it is viewed on the internet.
To make matters more confusion I put together another slide show in FCP just using JPEG Files (in fact some of the JPEG were used in both videos) and all the stills came out perfect. The second video I exported the project out in the same manner DV/DVCPRO.
Why did this happen?
What can I do to solve this problem in FCP?

  • Are JPEG 3504x2336 pixel pictures too high resolution for the photo books?

    Hi,
I am done creating my photo book and I am ready to order, but I'd like to know if my pictures are too high resolution. They are professional wedding pictures so they are 7.4 mb each JPEG 3504x2336 pixel pictures. (Last time, I printed through MyPublisher but the pages with multiple pictures didn't turn out well and they said it was because the resolution was too high so when they compressed the file for the pages with multiple pictures it didn't turn out well.) Will I run into the same problem if I print directly through Iphoto?
If I do need to lower the resolution, how do I do it, given that I've aready created the book?
Thanks for any help you can give me!

    Welcome to the Apple Discussions.
When you order the book it will be compressed and a PDF will be created. That PDF is what gets uploaded to Apple (via Kodak) for printing. So the best way to check your book before ordering is to create a PDF, then inspect it. Chances are, what you see in your PDF is what you will get printed.
To do this, select your book and do File > Print. You'll get an "Assembling book" progress bar. That can take several minutes. When done, you get the Print Dialog box. Click the PDF button and choose "Save as PDF..." Choose a name and location for the file (the Desktop is convenient) and Save. Then switch to the Finder and open that PDF in Preview. You might select a page or two and do a test print yourself, to see if the quality looks good. The PDF saves you from having to print out the whole book yourself to check for errors.
    Regards.

Has anybody any idea, why my jpeg-picture upoaded to Photo Stream does not appear on my iPhone S4 like all the other pictures before?
Ok, it's a 4 year old picture, but taken with a digital camera as jpeg...! This cannot be the problem really, but I'm despaired after trying since days...! Thank you all for any hint you've got for me!

If you asking me, I would suggest to additonally use a second storage service which also allows you to store your pictures over the 30 days period. I personally use Dropbox with automatic upload for that (https://db.tt/cMEgDUFZ), but there are also other storage services like Flickr for example.

Hi  In iPhotos the JPEG picture number was shown but cannot find this in Photos, has it been removed ?

There's an Automator workflow application that user léonie has posted that will put the file name into the Title field for any selected photos when it's run.  It's in this user tip: Photos for Mac: Batch Changing the Titles to the Filename

I would try resetting your preference file first:  http://www.lightroomforums.net/showthread.php?14226-Resetting-(or-Trashing-)-the-Lightroom -Preferences-file
Also, install the latest version 4.4.1 would probably be a good idea.

I am using Lightroom on my MAC where I import the finalized JPEG-pictures into iPhoto to create a slideshow (for instance in combination with films). When exporting the slideshow with a 1080p resolution to iTunes I experience difficulties (missing slides and black transitions). When using JPEG-pictures directly from the camera there are no problems, so the manipulation in Lightroom seem to cause corrupt files. Does anyone recognize tje problem and could it have anything to do with the introduction of the Yosemite software? Is Lightroom already Yosemite-proof?

In iPhoto 11 the Originals folder is renamed Masters.
IPhoto menu -> Provide iPhoto Feedback and report the bug.

  • Imported jpeg pictures jagged edges when in motion

When I import jpeg pictures into final cut pro I have a problem with pictures developing jagged pixilated lines throughout the picture when I put them in motion. I thought the image size had something to do with it but I reduced the size in photoshop to no avail. Any advice will be appreciated much.

Sorry to step in. I am about to upgrade to a MacBook Pro 17" and buy the Final Cut Studio 2. What is holding me back is I have experienced a similar problem to this string of comments and I am wondering if someone can help me.
I am trying to make a film for my wife's 40th and have a ton of high res JPEGs as well as a combination of HD video (MPEG4 format from the Sanyo Xacti HD1000) and other formats that I am currently having converted into digital.
Unfortunately the team at the apple shop here have had two problems:
1, when they import the high res JPEGs they look fine until after then rending process when they become pixilated. These are photos from a 10 MegaPixel camera.
2, The HD Video Clip (the MPEG4) format shows up as a green screen on their computer.
It turns out that they are still using the FCP version 6 and noone at the shop (Ultimate Apple Computer on Stanley Street) knows how to use it or fix the above problems.
I'll step up tomorrow and buy a the MacBook Pro 17" if I knew I could do this. Can anyone tell me how to overcome these issues?
    Thanks

  • Resize jpeg picture file.

    Hi
How do i resize a jpeg picture (*.jpg) and save it in labview.?
    eg. from 800x600 to 640x480.
    thanks
    Per

If you can get by with decimation, the answer is simple.
Anthony de Vries on 8/16/2001 answered this question.
He basically unflattened the flattened image out of the "Read JPEG" and then removed rows and columns from the pixmap matrix to shrink the image. If your JPEG must be arbitrarily scaled (i.e. can't be a 1:2, 1:3, 1:4, etc. decimation), you will have to do as IreneHe suggested and interpolate the values to match "fractional indices" of the new array. You should be able to use the array functions to do this.
After you decimate your pixmap matrix, send it through the flatten function and draw the flattened pixmap to your picture indicator.
I'm sorry I don't have exact function names. I am away from my LabVIEW machine at the moment.

  • Is there a way to have a jpeg picture show up in notes?

I want a jpeg picture to show up in notes.  While I can drag it into the notes window, it shows up as an attachment (paperclip) on my iPhone.  How do I open the paperclip?

Just make sure that you do a back up. I personal force the iCloud back up as well as a computer back up. This was my first iOS upgrade where I had a problem, I've been doing iOS upgrades since iOS3 or 4.
I'm glad that I did those back ups because I needed them. Well one of them though.

  • Cannot send jpeg pictures to my Motorola cell phone

I cannot seem to get my MacBook Pro to send jpeg pictures to my cell phone (Verizon/Motorola). I can send jpeg pictures from the phone to the computer. When I attempts to send the file to the phone, all things connect and the phone asks if I want to accept the file, then the MacBook delivers a message: cannot send file: Internal Error. Any ideas???

FYI: I figured it out. The jpeg files were too large to send to the phone. Exporting pictures from iPhoto (file>export) allows you to select a file type (jpeg for phone) an image quality, and a picture size. Once the photo is exported, bluetooth can send it to the phone without problems.

  • Reading JPEG picture attributes in ABAP

    Dear gurus,
We're contemplating building a simple little picture repository in ABAP. Uploading and storing the data as binary strings is easy, but it would be quite neat to be able to verify at least a couple of things on the provided data, like the actual file type, which should be JPEG (don't want people to upload just anything with a .jpg file extension), and the picture resolution in pixels.
Is anybody aware of ABAP functionality that could achieve this?
Alternatively, all our users have (or should have) MS Office Picture Manager installed on their front-ends; would you know of a way to use this or another program to verify file type and resolution? Like calling an API of such a program, passing to it the file as a binary string and getting back some attributes?
And then, just in case somebody knows... I found this wonderful [how-to guide|https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/10ab79a4-1fc2-2b10-29bb-ef9ff6771e72] for a cropper/resizer application for Java; would anybody have an idea if such a thing is possible in ABAP?
Thx for all and any help and inspiration
    Rainer

Actually I thought you could use it to try a conversion from JPG to BMP which the class handles, to check if it is indeed a JPG file (I suppose the conversion fails if it's not).
But I can't help you on the resize thing.
Another idea, maybe you could use something external as a Java applet embedded in a BSP?
    For example this one: http://www.izhuk.com/imaging/
I guess you can adapt as well the document you posted to work on BSP instead of JSP (it would be a great deal of work though).
    Hope it helps.

  • Pictures - pixelation

Could anyone advise me on what picture format should I use?
I've imported some jpeg pics into my project but when I drag them to my timeline the picture is not the same as the original one. It is actually a very bad copy of it. Any suggestions? Thanks.

What are the pixel dimensions of your jpeg images?
If they are smaller than the pixel dimensions of your video, than you will have to enlarge the jpeg to fill screen and you will lose quality from that enlargement.
If the are substantially larger than the pixel dimensions of your sequence, you are reducing the amount of pixels in the image by shrinking it to fit and, at the same time are applying the codec of the timeline to the image. This can cause both shimmering, a pixellated appearance, and stair stepping along diagonal lines within the image.
One way to make the image look better is to apply a slight blur to the image, say a Gaussian Blur of 1 or 2 pixels. This blurring will reduce the amount of data contained in the image, and will thereby reduce the amount of compression being applied.
    Hope this helps.

What can I do to solve this problem in FCP?

    Hi -
Are you scaling up the vertical images (479 x 639) to fill frame? If so you are enlarging them quite a bit, and anytime you enlarge an image, you will see the sharpness decrease.
Couple this with your DV codec, which is at the bottom of acceptable imaging codecs to begin with, and your expectation may be exceeding what the combination of small source images and editing codec can supply.
And, to add to the problem, jpegs can range from very high quality to very, very compressed images. If your original images are highly compressed jpegs, that may be adding to the problem.
The best way to help with this problem would be to obtain higher quality source images - the same images in a large frame size. As you have already discovered you get much better results reducing a large image to fit the screen then enlarging a small image to fit the screen.
If this in not possible, you just need to use your judgement as to how far you can enlarge the image before it starts to look objectionable.
