JPEG subfolder after using "Image Processor" ...

Hi,
I use "Photoshop->Image Processor" to resize my photos and I get always a JPEg subfolder in my target dirtory, I don''t want to.
In the "Image Processor" I selected the option "Save in Same Location" and under "File Type" the option "Save as JPEG" with "Resize to Fit" ...
Why does Photoshop/Bridge create a subfolder, even if I specified to store the processed images in the same location (which implies to overwrite it in my eyes)?
Can I change this option or is this a feature request for CS5?
Thanks

You can use this customized version I created to extend for my workflow the Image Processor for CS4:
http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/exchange/index.cfm?event=extensionDetail&loc=en_us&extid=1698 556
You can define a folder on the same level of the original one or below and give it the name You want.
Hope it help to solve Your problem.

  • Lightroom JPEG export VS Photoshop Image Processor

    Hey guys:
Long time photoshop and lightroom user (long time user of all things Adobe). First post here in the forums. I did a search for my question but I think it was too specific, so it returned zero results.
My question is about Lightroom's JPEG export vs Photoshops Image Processor. When I export a RAW file to JPEG from Lightroom, the file size is freaking huge. The JPEG is as big as my original RAW file (~25mb). Settings are set to default - 100 quality. Everything else remains untouched.
However, when I use Photoshop's image processor (I launch it through Bridge, easier that way for me) and process the RAW images that way, my JPEGs are roughly 5-10mb in size. Settings in Image Processor are quality 10 and thats it. No actions being run or anything.
Can anyone shed some light as to why Lightroom exports JPEGs that are roughly 2-4 times the size of Photoshop's JPEGs? My initial thoughts are that the 100 quality setting in Lightroom is more like Photoshop's quality 12 (that always makes me think of Spinal Tap - "Why don't you just make ten louder and make ten be the top number and make that a little louder?" "These go to eleven.") Ideally, exporting out of Lightroom would be much easier for my workflow.
    Thanks in advance.

You are correct: LR Quality 100 = PS Quality 12
Despite LR having 101 Quality settings (0 to 100) it actually only has 12 Quality settings the same as PS 'Baseline Standard':

I keep a small copy of the above table taped to my monitor. I chose the numbers under the 'LR' column for the 12 steps (not AA's) to make it easier to remember. In actuality ANY number in the LR Range column will produce the same results for each step.
Under the 'Typical Reduction' column notice the small amount of reduction for PS 6 (LR 47-53%) Quality setting. If interested why AND why you probably shouldn't use PS 7 (LR 54-61%) Quality setting see this post:

  • How to Use Image Processor for Multiple Sizes

I'm trying to use Image Processor to work on a folder of images and to create several sizes of .jpg's . I find an option to Save as JPEG in one size only. Is there any way to set up Image Processor to save JPEG to multiple sizes?

  • Colour washed out when using image processor in Bridge CS6

    Hi there
I hope somebody can help please?!
I am editing raw files in Camera Raw 8.2, then using image processor through Bridge CS6 to save them as both jpegs and tiffs.
I am finding the colour on the saved files is coming out a little washed out and faded.
If I open them individually and save them in PS6 as jpeg and tiffs, the colour remains vibrant and true to the original raw file.
I have thousands of these files to go through and don't have time to open each one individually in this way so I am desperate to automate this process while still retaining the great colour in the original shots.
Can anyone tell me why the shots are coming out this way and help offer a solution for me please?
Any advice would be massively appreciated!
    Many thanks

  • Error message when trying to use image processor in CS2

    Hi
I am trying to use image processor to condense 500 proofs for my website - however although I have done many times before with no problem, now when I hit the Image processor button before I even get to key in details it is bringing up the sorry something major has happened message and I can't continue - the details of this message are as follows - ref error : this.dlgMain.ddset on Change is not a function :810 - does this mean anything to anyon? Any ideas on how to overcome would be much appreciated.
    thanks

Go to Russell Brown's website and download his package for CS2. His 1-2-3 Processor is much more flexible than the one provided by Photoshop.

Nothing to do with professional or not, but I do hope you know where your computer's power switch is. System information can be obtained this way:

Furthermore we need info where you store your files, what format they are in, where they came from, what you did the last time this worked, if possible...

  • Using image processor from RAW format to JPEG, the images are suddenly very muted colour, greyish tone, and just awful looking.

Any ideas as to why, when I am converting a group of images through image processor into JPEG, the resulting images are AWFUL.  I have been using this process for years without a concern, and suddenly the JPEG files are very greyish, muted tones and just terrible looking… HELP!  I'm WAY too busy right now to be dealing with this and having to manually save each image to JPEG

  • CS5 Crashes using Image Processor from Bridge

Photoshop CS5 64 and 32 crashes when using the image processor from Bridge after 200 images or so.  Converting 1000 RAW files to PSD or PSD to JPEG takes multiple reloads.  any ideas?

I've encountered a non-repeatable variation of this problem from time to time: crash occurs at startup of image processor when Photoshop is open and has been running for some time.  (I've not seen the error where Bridge > Image Processor causes launch of Photoshop.)  Once I've started a run it has not failed to complete all images (but I'm not converting RAW files and not as many files as 1000).  ScriptingSupport.8li is listed in event log problem signature.

  • Script Alert: "Sorry I could not process the following files" (Error Message using Image Processor)

I'm a seasoned Photoshop/Bridge CS5 user who recently upgraded to CS6.  In Bridge I just ran my first Image Processor batch, trying to convert a set of RAW .NEF files to .PSD files with a basic editing action I created applied to them.  Photoshop CS6 opens the files from Bridge and applies the actions, but then I get the "Script alert" error message "Sorry I could not process the following files" and a list of all of the files in the batch I was trying to run the script on.  The files all remain open and are saved on my hard drive in a folder created by the Image Processor script, but do not close unless I manually close them.  I never had this problem in CS5 where the image processor would apply the desired actions to the batch of photos one at a time, then save and close.  Thoughts on how I can fix this bug?

    Hey Jeff--
No specific action steps to make the image safe - no flattening, etc. Had problems narrowing down the specific action step causing the problem. So I ran the Image Processor script in the ExtendScript ToolKit and debugged in. (I'm using the version that shipped with CS4.)
Turns out what was happening is that the app.activeDocument.close() command on line 1490 was never getting called, because the this.SaveFile() above it was throwing an exception. More debugging got me to the problem - SaveFile() tries to restore the history state after making a doc safe for saving as a JPEG. This causes an exception. So I commented out line 1571:
    // app.activeDocument.ativeHistoryState = historyState;
The script runs just fine after this. I commented out the close to see what history states got added to the doc, but no new states are recorded, so commenting out the restore line should not cause any problems.
Of course, my solution does not solve the problem and I may need to comment out all the saveFile() lines that does this. Not sure why some actions have this problem and others don't. The actions I am running have about 25 steps. Perhaps PS is not catching up quick enough. I added a $.sleep(2500) after the restore history but that didn't help.
So, not sure where this gets us. I will check about posting an action set with just one of the actions that cause the problem. But I may also have our customer comment out that line of the Image Processor script.
Hope this helps. May post more next week.

  • Color becomes corrupt when I use Image Processor

I always use the image processor (file>scripts>image processor) to format my photos after editing. Last night in the middle of batching several sets, the processor starting saving my photos with colors that were really off. I tried closing the program and restarting my computer. No luck. If I open a photo in CS6 photoshop and then save it as a jpeg there is no color corruption. But if I batch photos using the image processor the color is horrible. I don't really want to unistall/reinstall photoshop if I don't have to because then I have to reinstall my plugins. Is there a way to fix this? I have been using CS6 for over a year now and haven't had a problem with image processor before. Although, sometimes when I open a photo in photoshop, the color is off (like in the left photo) and I have to close the program and re-open it. Below is an example of what happens.

    Good day!
Is there a way to fix this?
Fix what? You have not given enough information to assess the issue.
What are the settings you use, do the images have their Color Profile embedded, what are your Color Settings …?

  • Using Image Processor from Bridge

I'm trying to use the image processor from within Bridge. I have done this several times in the past, as recently as last week.
I have some files selected in Bridge. I select "Tools>Photoshop>Image Processor" and the dialog box opens. Step 1 indicates that I have files to process (10 in this instance), and I have JPEG selected as the file type to process. When I click "Run", I get an error message that says "Script Alert" in the title. The message in the window says "There were no source files that could be opened by Photoshop".
I opened the same 10 files in Photoshop, and I was able to run the Image Processor on them while they were open in Photoshop. I'd rather not do this unless I have to.
I haven't added any new programs or plug ins since the last time I used the Image Processor from Bridge.
I had the same problem in early June, and the solution suggested then fixed the problem. I'm experienceing the same problem today, and the same solution doesn't seem to be working now.
The previous solution was to reset the preferences by holding down the Ctrl key and clicking on the Bridge icon to start. A reset window with 3 options popped up. Now, w
I would sincerely appreciate any help you could give me with this.
    Thanks,
Larryhen I hold the control key down and click on the Bridge icon, I don't get the reset window. I tried it by control-clicking on the Bridge icon from within Photoshop, and I tried it by control-clicking on the Bridge icon from my desktop with Photoshop closed.

Read you original post again and your last post and now I am confused.
You said you reset your Bridge preferences, yet in post #1 you said " I hold the control key down and click on the Bridge icon, I don't get the reset window. I tried it by control-clicking on the Bridge icon from within Photoshop, and I tried it by control-clicking on the Bridge icon from my desktop with Photoshop closed.
So with this said you have not reset the preferences unless you have gone in and deleted the file.  The Bridge Icon is the one one the desktop that you click to start Bridge.
BUT, in last post you say you have a Mac.  So to reset preference believe it is Cmd key.
No matter how you do it you need to get the reset window with the 3 reset options.

  • Problems Using Image Processor to Resize Images

              Hello,
    I'm perplexed on this one.
In the past, I've used scripts in Photoshop to downsize my large Camera RAW images to an appropriate 1920 x 1080 size for subsequent export to Premiere Pro.
Worked like a charm numerous times.
Now, when I try to do the exact same thing and check the destination folder AFTER running the Image Processor routine but BEFORE bringing them into Premiere Pro, they are all 1620 x 1080 instead of 1920 x 1080.
    This doesn't work.
I keep checking around for a little typo in the various stages but cannot find one.  Any thoughts?
I recently had to reinstall Photoshop and changed one of the settings in Preferences to 32 bit instead of 16 bit.  I don't think that has anything to do with this, but I wanted to mention it just in case.
    Here is a screen shot:
    Thanks!
    Matt Dubuque
(PS: I know that's a screen shot from a Mac, but I believe this issue is platform independent)

Thanks so much for your help gentlemen!
Sorry for the delay in responding.  The deadline for submitting my film is fast approaching and I've had so many different things to do, all of them important.
Surely these are useful pointers you are giving me.  Cropping has been unsuccessful, as has been using the Image Processor.  Russell Brown was scratching his head about the failure of the Image Processor to work on this and has told me he will work on it after Photoshop World finishes.
Incidentally, thanks for the video of his on Content Aware Scaling!
I was unaware of the Alpha Channel aspect which REALLY makes it an amazing feature.  Alpha Channels are slightly beyond my skill level, but not terrifying.  For some reason paths and alpha channels have been a little harder for me to learn in Photoshop; I've picked up many other things rather quickly.
JM, I've tried floating a layer by duplicating it.  I called that layer "THIS IS BETTER" (below).  Then I tried to adjust the image canvas size as shown by the screen shot below.  Is this what you were describing?  I tried to change that canvas size to 1020 x 1080.
I then got a warning message about my image being clipped:
And that apparently resulted in this "clipped" image below:
Any thoughts on that particular avenue of inquiry?
    Thanks for your help.

  • Problem using Image Processor from Bridge

I have been using the Image Processor to process photos from Bridge for quite some time. However, I recently received an error message when I try to initiate Image Processor from Bridge and I have not been able to find any help topics that address my problem: I select images in Bridge to process, then click "Tools>Photoshop>Image Processor". Photoshop opens and the familiar Image Processor dialog box opens. Item 1 in the dialog box says "Process files from Bridge only" and has the number of files I have selected in parenteses. I select the file type and other settings in #3, and preferences in #4. When I click "Run", I get an error message window that says: "Script Alert. There were no source files that could be opened by Photoshop". The Image Processor works if I open the files in Photoshop first, then run it by selecting "File>Scripts>Image Processor" and tell it to process all open files.
Would someone be able to help me with this problem?
    Thanks, Larry

Usually when it worked before and not now, and you have added no new software or hardware I recommend resetting the preferences.  Hold down the Ctrl key and click on the Bridge icon to start.  You should get a reset window with 3 options.

  • Color washed out when using image processor in Bridge CC

    Hi,
When I use the image processor - Tool>PhotoShopS>Image Processor, via bridge my colors appear wrong and washed out.
When i choose "Include ICC profile" in the process dialog it has no effect - the colors are still wrong.
In PhotoShop my profile is set to ProPhoto RGS, can that be the reason?
When I save as JPG from Photoshop the colors are correct.
    any suggestions?
