JPEGs locked in preview screen

I am transferring files from my PC to MacBook Pro using a seagate hard drive. All my JPEGs are marked as locked in the preview screen. ie the file name becomes IMG xxx - Locked, with a drop down arrow next to it which can then unlock the file. When I `get info', the locked box is not checked and the file is read and write. I notice that JPEGs I transferred using a USB thumb drive also show as locked. Are JPEGs supposed to be locked?
My plan is to use iphoto for photo storage/organising and then periodically export to an external hard drive as required. Is this hard drive suitable for storing mac files?
Am new to Mac so any help would be appreciated. Would like to get my process correct now so that I dont have problems in thw future.

Try a reset by pressing the home and sleep buttons until you see the Apple logo, ignoring the slider. Takes about 5-15 secs of button holding and you won't lose any data or settings.

Green Preview Screen?

I have recently started using the trial version of Adobe Premiere Elements to see if I would like to buy the full version, and I have found an error, in which the preview screen shows me something like

Lots of questions.
Do you have the latest version of QuickTime installed on your computer with Premiere Elements 11? What is your Playback Quality setting as seen by right clicking the monitor and selecting Playback Quality...Automatic or Highest?
a. What camera is this .mp4 video coming from, and what are the properties of the video (video compression, audio compression, frame size, frame rate, pixel aspect ratio, etc). That ".mp4" is wrapper format - file extension.
b. Is your video card driver up to date, according to its manufacturer?
c. Please confirm your Premiere Elements 11 project setting in Edit Menu/Project Settings. What are they?
d. On Video 1 it looks like there is at least one frame represented there that is not green. If you set the Video Track Style Display to show all the frames on Video 1, are all the frames showing images, not green? It looks like the Preview Windows is not showing green. What does the thumbnail for this video look like in Project Assets, green or expected image?
e. Is the green display restricted to this particular video? What do you see on the monitor when you playback Timeline of jpeg photos? Are you working with a dual monitor system?

Does anyone happen to know how to change the default quality setting of the JPEG export in Preview? I pretty much always need it to be best, and it's a little bit of a pain to have to adjust it from medium every time...

Hi can you navigate to the Start menu and then into HP and the HP Solution Center? From within that, select settings (probably on the lower right side of the HP Solution Center screen. In settings, click on Printer Settings where you can change the defaults for your printer.

PRE 9 Preview screen

Can't seem to get preview screen to work properly. I have clips on the Timeline/Sceneline but when I click on them and press 'play' nothing happens. I seem to be locked into 'motion tracking' mode - how do I solve the problem?

I am not ready to rule out the video display driver yet. What you report is a common issue with an obsolete video driver.
What version (date/time) do you have installed?
Also if you would restate your nVidia card model and your OS, that would be appreciated.

It's happened to me before as well. Try holding both lock(top right) and home buttons simultaneously until u see a slight flash of wight then just reboot it normally. If that doesn't work try restoring your device from itunes

The button on the top that you use to lock and unlock or put to sleep is the power button. The button lower center of the screen is the home button...can be used to also wake from sleep and switch to the base home screen.

Okay so I have had my ipod 4th gen for almost 2 years buy the screen has fallen out of the back casing, (I bought it as refurbished) and I am trying to reset it to factory settings, so when I get a new one I can register my device on apps/games since some apps require that you can only register on one device, but I think the thing that connects to the screen is ripped so the screen won't turn on and I can't physically touch it. Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

Video not showing up in preview screen on iMovie & Photobooth not working

Its like all of a sudden a bunch of video programs on my Mac have stopped going.
I am running OSX Lion 10.7.3
I have recently installed Elgato Video Capture and have been recording old VHS tapes and editing in iMovie. Was having no problems at first. Then the picture in the preview screen disappeared, the sound was still going, then that went too. I am wondering if Elgato video capture has something to do with it..
When I go to old videos, they play fine.
I also noticed the camera wont load in photobooth anymore.
If anyone has any information on this or knows how to fix it, that would be great! Thanks

Had same problem on iPad. Go to settings. Look under privacy. Make sure you turn on iMovie under the photos heading. Might also need to enable location services for iMovie. Now I can see camera roll from iMovie.

Am on SRM 5.0 MDM 2.0.
Requirement is 'temp labor'. i have a price form a specific supplier for a specific service is $80 in SRM_MDM internal catalog.
But i talked to supplier and they have agreed on a new price of $75. After I select this catalog item, and view the shopping cart preview screen i see "Price information and total price". I want to add a custom field to the shopping cart preview screen called "new price" to enter $75 as the new price and click recalculate to recalculate the new total price and send this to SRM for follow on functions...
is there standard functionality in SRM7 for this requirement?

Triple-click the line of text below to select it, the copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C):
/Library/Internet Plug-ins
In the Finder, select
Go ▹ Go to Folder
from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-G. Paste into the text box that opens (command-V), then press return.
From the folder that opens, remove any items that have the letters “PDF” in the name. You may be prompted for your login password. Then quit and relaunch Safari, and test.
The "Silverlight" web plugin distributed by Microsoft can also interfere with PDF display in Safari, so you may need to remove it as well, if it's present.
If you still have the issue, repeat with this line:
~/Library/Internet Plug-ins
If you don’t like the results of this procedure, restore the items from the backup you made before you started. Relaunch Safari again.

one thing you can also try is...
Try doing a hard reboot
1. hold the power and home buttons down
2. you will see the "swipe to turn off" screen come up... KEEP HOLDING THE BUTTONS
3. The screen will go black (turn off)... KEEP HOLDING THE BUTTONS
4. A white Apple logo will appear on the screen, now you can release the buttons. Let the iDevice boot... should only take a couple minutes.

Figured it out. It had nothing to do with the software levels of Safari or Adobe Acrobat. Here's the fix:
Open Finder/Applications
Search "Internet Plug-Ins"
Move any Adobe plug-ins to the trash
Quit Safari
Launch Safari
Your pdf document should now render in Print Preview and print properly.

Hi Alex.
I totally agree with Sudhanshu's comments. If you create a custom specific field it will always be a read-only. you can also use EForm for such usecases. Also in case of SRM-MDM Scenario, the price information field holds a standard behaviour which can't be manipulate for custom specific fields.
But if you want to achive this through the exisitng repository schema and the BADI. then you can follow the steps given below:
1. If you want to hold the value for the new price, you can create a new custom field (New Price)of type "Text" in the repository and store the price information in that field.
2. In the configuration screen, you can add the "New Price" to all the views(Result Set, Shopping Cart Preview etc).
3. In the "Shopping Cart Preview", now you can view the existing standard price information column and the newly created "New Price" column. Now you can change the quantity based on your need. Now when you click "Recalculate" button the standard price column will change and not the "New Price" column.
4. Now you can map this newly created field to any of the custom fields which were provided by default. (like NEW_ITEM-CUSTFIELD1).
5. You can make use of the BADI BBP_CATALOG_TRANSFER to perform the remaining calculations.
6. The BADI will hold all the catalog related data in its OCI structure. Before transferring the data to shopping cart you can modify it by multiplying the quantity with the "New Price" value and send the updated price in the OCI standard structure "NEW_ITEM_PRICE".
Now SRM shopping cart will hold the updated "New Price" for the item shopped through catalog.

I recently had to reinstall Pro V9. Now I no longer get the preview screen when I select File, Open. I liked this feature since I could see the first page of each document and know which file contained what information. Does anyone know how to reset this function? Thanks.
