Jpg error message

New user working on my first web site, using MX 2004, v 7.01.
When I try to drag and drop a jpg from my files panel group
to a web page htm file I get the following error message.
Dreamweaver can’t open .jpg files. Please choose an
HTML, XML, or other compatible file.
Not sure what the problem is. The only thing I can think of
is the jpeg was originally created and saved using Corel photo
paint.

It works to option click and download but does just clicking on it open it in a new window? I am receiving complaints from people trying to open it. .. thanks for checking!

  • Error message: "Dreamweaver can't open .jpg files"

    I'm using DW 8, and I have installed the 8.0.2 update. I'm
having trouble inserting certain JPG images into a site. I get an
error message pop-up that states "Dreamweaver can't open .jpg
files". It will allow me to insert some jpg files, but not all of
them. I've tried drag & drop and going through the Insert menu.
The files are not large at all. Doesn't appear to be any problem
with png's or gif's. It's incredibly frustrating. Anyone have any
    suggestions? TIA.

    > why was i taught that all my web images need
    > to be in 72dpi if it doesn't really matter?
most people suggest 72 because it was an old standard with
    the early
macintosh DTP programs. For web use it's easier to
    standardize on it because
when you make an image, you have to put ~some~ number in the
    resolution box
and it might as well be 72 as any other number. It simplifies
    moving image
files around in different applications if they are all the
    same resolution.
For display in a browser, these will all have the same file
    size and display
    size in a web page:
    600x600 pixels at 1dpi
    600x600 pixels at 72dpi
    600x600 pixels at 6000dpi
It's when they are used in other applications or when a
    direct url like
/photos/1.jpg is printed out that they may display in the
    resolution, not
    the pixel dimension.
I came across a page once where the designer always saved his
    images with a
resolution of 6000 dpi or some other odd number because he
    thought that if
people dragged the image off the page to save it- most of
    them wouldn't be
able to resize it. or some other idiot reason maybe.

  • How can I solve this error message? Some of your photos, including the photo "IMG_0374.jpg", were not copied to the iPad "(my name's) iPad" because they cannot be displayed on your iPad.

how can I solve this error message? "Some of your photos, including the photo “IMG_0374.jpg”, were not copied to the iPad “(my name’s) iPad” because they cannot be displayed on your iPad."
There were 273 photos in the event syncing from my Mac, but only the last 103 made it to the ipad. Most of the photos were taken by an iphone. I would appreciate any thoughts or insights - thanks.

    Adrian-
That error message suggests the photo is somehow corrupt.
Do you have the Apple Camera Connection Kit?  You can set up a USB thumb drive with MS-DOS FAT-32 format and copy your photos to it into a folder named DCIM.  Assuming they have an 8 character plus suffix name, the iPad will recognize them and give you the option of transferring them via the Kit's USB adapter.
Once they are transferred, you can find out if there is a problem with any.

It sounds like your iPhoto Advanced preferences are set to not copy photos during import, i.e. a Referenced library:
Check your Advanced preferences to see if that's the case. If it is the best solution would be to select the checkbox to copy the photos and reimport the photos from the flash drive.  Then check the new import. It it was OK you can delete the previous event with the "missing" photos.

  • I am getting the following error message when I try to import photos into iPhoto from my camera: "/private/var/folders/GB/GBl4wh8-ELqUVMI5dO-ryU   TI/-Tmp-/iPhoto/DSCF2033.JPG".  Have already tried removing and reinstalling iPhoto to no avail.

Does this happen if you try to Import to Library within iPhoto, or is it when you connect your camera (and which is set to automatically use iPhoto) that this error message occurs?
If you open Image Capture > Preferences is iPhoto selected as the choice when a camera is connected?

  • Error message when uploading book for printing. All images are jpg and rgb. Could they be too large to upload? What size is required and how do I reduce size in Aperture?

I receive an error message when I upload my book for printing. Not sure what the problem is. All my images are jpg and rgb. Could they be too large as it takes about 15minutes to upload to Apple. How do I reduce the size of the image in Aperture?

    Hi Leonie,
    Thanks for your reply.
Error message below. The preview is fine . I can discount the first 2messages as its a new computer so plenty of disk space and upload doesn't seem to be interrupted. I have uploaded to iphoto before. have tried to upload 3times with the same error message. I had to photo my slides with a Kaiser Baas photo maker , which apparently doesn't scan but takes photos in megapixels of the slides. I am wondering now if the format is incompatible though they are jpg files or the colour type wrong. The image files are  around 1-3 mb each and  72 ppi. I think  I will now scan them properly with a scanner to 300dpi anyway to improve quality.
Apple  talks about image files not being too big for uploading but gives no sizing of what too big is?
    Error message
    1. Upload Error. Loss of connection or file corruption during order upload may cause an incomplete order. Resubmitting your order usually resolves this issue.
    2. Low Disk Space. If your computer is running on low disk space, your files may be assembled incorrectly. Create more space by deleting unused files.
    3. Unreadable PDF file or image files. Files are sometimes assembled incorrectly due to CMYK or Grayscale color space. Use the RGB color space for best results.

I am using Lightroom 5.7, 64 bit with Windows 7 Professional. For no apparent reason, I now get an error message when I export a photo, say a raw image to a JPG. However, the exported image seems to be OK. But now I notice that my LR directory of folders in Library view does not show images correctly: If there is a folder with sub-folder(s), the folder will indicate 0 images, but the sub-folders show the proper number of images. What happened and is there a fix? I tried uninstalling Lightroom and re-installing, but problem persists.

  • TS2167 i'm getting an error message.. can't create the file "header.jpg." The disk may be damaged or full, or you may not have suuficient access priveleges.

I need to publish to a local folder on my desk top and I am getting this error message.
can’t create the file “header.jpg.” The disk may be damaged or full, or you may not have suuficient access priveleges.
Please help... I need to copy to a disk... it was working fine until I attached a big project, I tried to delete the project, but still not workng.

    Try the following:
1 - delete the iWeb preference file, com.apple.iWeb.plist, that resides in your
         User/Home/Library/ Preferences folder.
2 - delete iWeb's cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your
User/Home/Library/Caches/com.apple.iWeb folder (Snow Leopard and Earlier).
3 - launch iWeb and try again.
NOTE:  In Lion and Mountain Lion the Library folder is now invisible. To make it permanently visible enter the following in the Terminal application window: chflags nohidden ~/Library and hit the Enter button - 10.7: Un-hide the User Library folder.

  • How to solve the error message Podcast cover art must be at least 1400 X 1400 pixel JPG or PNG, in RGB color space, and hosted on a server that allows HTTP head requests."

    the feed url is http://feeds.feedburner.com/goodstewards
    the artwork url is http://www.goodstewards.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/logo.jpg
this is a wordpress domain that i am using with feedburner

"Your Blogger feed has no 'itunes' tags and is lacking the 'iTunes declaration' in the second line, so you have no image as far as the Store is concerned. You need to set Blogger to provide an itunes-compliant feed."
So, how do I set Blogger to do that? I was Googling for the answer, but nothing. I have "Allow Blog Feed" set to full and Title Links and Enclosure Links enabled.
"Your Feedburner feed link goes to a text page containing the code of a feed - this feed does have the 'itunes:...' tags. However in both feeds you are using Google Drive as a server for the image and media files and the URLs are prefaced with https (encrypted connection) - this may work in the Store but it is inadvisable and your URLs should begin with http."
Yeah, I couldn't think of another way to get you straight to the actual XML file. I guess what you are saying is that Google Drive does not have an appropriate server, which is why it gives https instead of http as a head.

  • Photoshop CC won't open JPG files, Windows 7 64-bit SP1. I get no error message at all. Very annoying.

I get the SAME behavior on my laptop. This happens with Bridge also. My desktop and laptop are both Core i7 3d gen machines. I had to resort to GIMP to get some work done. I tried updating  to the latest PS CC but it failed to update with error U44M1P7. Any ideas if the update will fix this and I should keep trying to get it installed?

The error message means a Photoshop File is corrupt you need to re-install Photoshop, You can do that right on top of your current install. That will back level CC to 14.0. When you the use CC ment Help>Updates it should be updated to 14.2.1 and all you add ons a r activation will still be intact. Download CC direct installer follow the download instruction else you will be denied access.  Download New Adobe CC Trials: Direct Links (no Assistant/Manager) | ProDesignTools

  • Error message opening .jpg saved for Web in Photoshop CS3

After I save a file for "Web & Devices," when I open it, it returns this message, "This file contains file info data which cannot be read and has been ignored." Will this cause any problem with the file once I place it in the website I'm building? I've never seen this message before on a photo I've edited. The changes I made involved color correction.
    Thank you,
    Marilyn

When I go to "Save," I select "Settings" "Other," which brings up the "Output Settings" and under the XHTML settings, I do not have "Include XMP" selected. I had to deselect "Include Comments" under "Coding". This fixed it, but it then said it was HTML and not XHTML. So I went back in and reselected "Include Comments" and resaved it for Web & Devices. No more error message!
Thanks for your help! This was really bugging me.

  • Error message as soon as vista boots to desktop

Whenever I reboot my R61i 8932-9UM laptop, running pre-load Vista Home Premium, as soon as the desktop appears, I get an error message stating" On Screen Display message generator for Thinkpad has stopped working. Windows will now close the program"
What is causing this, and how to I fix or disable the error message? As I cannot connect to lenovo support [see other forum post] I cannot check or diagnose using the web.

Try to uninstall the On Screen Display software on the computer.

  • Could not complete your request because of a program error" message when opening program

    Hello,
Same here with the message and I'm on a brand new system:
new macpro, new mavericks, new photoshop CC and havent done a thing yet.
    Tried all found solutions:
    -generator on/off
    -sniffer on/off
    -GPU on/off
    -300x exit prefs etc
    -re-install PS
    -list-view
    -pushing my belly button
    But nothing helps.
I tried a little work in PS (render/save etc) and that all seems to work
    BUT....sniffer states:
    2014-02-07 16:23:50.885 sniffer[522:303] invalid display
    ContextOffscreen exception caught and ignored.
    2014-02-07 16:23:50.886 sniffer[522:303] invalid display
    ContextOffscreen exception caught and ignored.
And dont know what to do about it and/or if that causes it. Thank you. & regards

I was able to follow your directions and delete almost everything. I couldn't find a PSE 4 path folder. I deleted the com.adobe.Photoshop.Elements.plist and opera preferences. Repaired permissions and restarted computer.
Still had the same error message when trying to "Save As" a PSD to a jpg. I can save for the Web which is a jpg (but not good enough for printing.)
    Maybe I'll reinstall.
I'm not having trouble with any other programs. Can't recall having added anything to PSE recently, though if this is the culprit, it might be something I did months ago (though I don't know what) because I haven't tried saving as a jpg in a long time.
I've been saving my documents as a tiff file. Could that be a cause? I've converted some of these tiff files to PSD and still get the error message.

  • I am getting an error message when trying to open a .pdf doc from a website.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled reader 9, but that did not help. Any ideas?  I can't

Does this issue occur on another browser? If this issue does occur on another browser then I would like to say that it is a Yahoo issue and not a Firefox issue.
