JPG exported from Photoshop looks different in Dreamweaver

Hello everyone. I've checked the FAQ section on this forum, and I read the "Save For Web" posting, but that doesn't seem to have answered my question.
When I "Save For Web" in Photoshop, and import the resulting photo into Dreamweaver - which is supposed to have the same exact color value as a div element I am using - the JPG appears darker. However, if I preview the page, the colors match. So the color discrepency is visible in Dreamweavers "Design" view, but the colors match when I go to "Preview in Browser".
I'm assuming this is a Photoshop issue since I can't seem to find any sort of color management options in Dreamweaver. Any help that can be provided is greatly appreciated.

To help troubleshoot, I'm included following example.

  • Colors in Photoshop look different elsewhere

When I open a picture in Photoshop CS3 or Camera RAW for editing and then save that picture, and then open the saved picture in any program other than Photoshop, the colors and tints and saturation are very different. I am pretty sure this has to do with my color profile in Photoshop, but I've checked many online sources and my color settings seem to match up more or less with what's recommended. My camera is set to sRGB and Photoshop is set to sRGB IEC61966-2.1, and this is happening both with JPEGs and RAWs, from two different Canon cameras.
Pictures look more natural when viewed in Photoshop than in other programs (I think), even before any editing...how could this be?
The weird things is, when I go to Edit > Assign Profile and then select "Lighthouse (D65 G2.2 A34.29)" from the drop-down menu, the image in Photoshop now looks exactly like it does when I open the same image in an image viewing program. What does this mean?
Also, when viewing my photos in Bridge CS3, the colors look like they do in Photoshop until I zoom in 100% and the photo finishes loading the actual pixels, at which point the colors dramatically change.
How can I edit pictures in Photoshop and Camera RAW when what I'm editing is not what's actually seen? This is very frustrating. Anybody have any ideas?

Thank you both for your replies. My monitor has been properly calibrated, but not for a long time. I know that this will not help when it comes to color representation, but this is not my problem. My problem is that the images in Photoshop look different than elsewhere. I am wondering if there is either a way to make Photoshop display the photos as they will appear on websites and such, or a way to save the photos as they actually appear in Photoshop.
I find it odd that I have not noticed this until recently. There is a very significant difference between the colors in the two environments. If the problem truly has rooted from an uncalibrated monitor, I will simply calibrate it (I would have already but I don't have a calibration device any more). But I don't think that's the whole problem here.

  • JPGs exported from Lightroom 5.6 will not open in other applications

Recently I have noticed that jpgs exported from Lightroom 5.6 can not be opened in Canon DPP 3.14 and can not be resized using Image Resizer plugin. Both of these I use frequently.
I have seen mention of this issue re other applications also. Does anyone know if there is a solution?
    I am using Windows 8.1 64bit. 5D Mark ii

This was an issue with 5.5 (the placement of some of the internal headers of the jpgs was changed and some other applications, including DPP, could not open them), but was corrected in 5.6. I just checked on it by exporting a jpg and opening it with no problem in DPP 3.14.15, Windows 7 x64. Are your jpgs old ones from LR 5.5?

  • Export from Photoshop Elements 6 to Premiere Elements 8

I prepared a slide show with The Organizer of Photoshop Elements 6 and produced a DVD which has good but not excellent image quality (I chose File Setting - High 800x600). To improve the DVD image quality I installed the trial version of Premiere Elements 8. I exported the slide show to Premiere Elements 8 and have several problems.1 The image quality of the DVD produced by Premiere Elements 8 is worse than the one produced from The Organizer (Photoshop Elements 6).
2 The titles, transitions and soundtrack does not show in Premiere Elements 8.
3 The slides sequence in Premiere Elements 8 is different then the one in the slide show in The Organizer (Photoshop Elements 6).
At one time a menu popped up asking me if I wanted to convert the Catalogue of V6. I declined because I was afraid that the V6 catalogue may be replaced and I would not be able to go back to it.
    Please help.

    Conclusion.
My results are consistent with your problems NOT being associated with Photoshop Elements 6 slideshow being used instead a Photoshop Element 8 slideshow in the slideshow transfer to Premiere Elements 8.
Testing. Photoshop Elements 6/Premiere Elements 8.
First I created a slideshow in the Photoshop Elements 6 Slide Show Editor. It included:
    (a) 19 jpeg photos each with pixel dimensions of 3264 x 2448 (that is not recommended pixel dimensions but was used to stress out the project if possible...these represent grossly oversized photos since the goal is DVD VIDEO with standard frame size of 720 x 480.)
    (b) I used a Wipe transition between each
    (c) I used text within the photos (included in the text was a sequential number so that I could more easily visually follow the sequence of the slideshow after it was transferred to Premiere Elements 8)
    (d) I added two audio clips as soundtrack (the first I placed from beginning to just before the last two photos to pick up on any audio out of sync as well as loss of a whole audio clip)
    (e) I used a pan and zoom effect for photos 1 and 2.
The quality of the preview in the Photoshop Elements 6 Slide Show Editor was good.
I outputted the Photoshop Elements 6 Slide Show Editor slideshow, using the Slide Show Edit Output option "Send to Premiere Elements". When I did, Premiere Elements 8 opened, I set the project preset, and it accepted the slideshow. In the Project Media area were
    (a) a folder containing all the individual components of the slideshow
    (b) the slideshow file in a video (grouped) form
The video (grouped) form had automatically been placed on the Timeline as well.
Everything transferred correctly. No problems. SEE IMPORTANT NOTE BELOW.
I even burned the Timeline content to DVD-VIDEO standard from Premiere Elements 8, and the DVD-VIDEO standard played back well on my 19 in LCD Widescreen TV.
Testing. Photoshop Elements 8/Premiere Elements 8.
I repeated the above with Photoshop Elements 8/Premiere Elements 8 and the same slideshow and obtained the same results.
IMPORTANT. Whether it was Photoshop Elements 6/Premiere Elements 8 or Photoshop Elements 8/Premiere Elements 8, I had to render the Timeline in the Edit Mode in order to get the best possible preview so that I could determine/confirm what was on the Premiere Elements Timeline. And, rendering the Timeline as described with all those oversized photos took several hours.
This is what I need to know:
    1. How many photos did you use in the slideshow in the Photoshop Elements 6 or 8 slideshow, and what were their pixel dimensions? If you do not know, you can check it out in Photoshop Elements Full Editor/Image Menu/Resize/Image Size dialog or just place your mouse course over the file on the hard drive and note the "dimensions".
    2. If you transfer your slideshow from Photoshop Elements 6 or 8 to Premiere Elements 8, use the Output option "Send to Premiere Elements", and get your slideshow on the Premiere Elements 8 Timeline, do you render that Timeline by pressing the Enter Key of the computer main keyboard so that the red line over the Timeline turns green when the process is complete?
    3. Is your computer optimized, defragmented, cleaned up, scratch files directed to an external hard drive (NTFS formatted), etc. If you are using an external hard drive for the scratch files, is there enough space there for them?
    4. What is your computer operating system and what are its resources, such as, available RAM and free hard drive space. Have you checked your computer's virtual memory set up?
Stay the course on this to rule in or out the above non wmv approach to getting your slideshow as a DVD-VIDEO. But if you do decide to detour over to Save As File Movie .wmv and you are dealing with oversized photos and an offending component in the slideshow, the the writing of the .wmv becomes a possible focus point for errors. And, if the .wmv is destined for DVD-VIDEO, then use the file size (also known as profile) = NTSC DVD (720 x 480).
I suspect that the problem core goes to
    (a) use of oversized photos
    (b) offending component in slideshow
    (c) size of slideshow
    (d) computer resources
    (e) combination of all or any one of above
I will continue to watch for your progress.

  • Why are 3D objects incredibly small when exported from Photoshop CS6?

When I attempt to export 3D objects for use in Apple's iBooks Author software—say, a Collada 3D model of Earth for a children's science book—from Photoshop CS6, the object comes out impossibly small or completely invisible. It will work just fine in Photoshop, but if I view it in Finder using Quick Look, open it in Preview, or drop it into an iBooks Author project, the object appears so small that it's useless. No amount of scaling it in said software corrects the issue, either.
What happened? Is there a new export preset I'm missing? I used this exact same process in Photoshop CS5, and it worked wonderfully.
    Thank you!

    HI,
Am also having similar problem with exporting 3d model into ibook or iauthor.
    Any help ?

  • Saving as PDF from Excel looks different to Excel version

    Hi
I have been working in Excel and been saving PDF files for the past year using the inbuilt feature in Excel. I have recently installed Adobe Acrobat so that I could save PDFs directly from Excel instead. When I save exactly the same file from Excel, the adobe acrobat PDF looks different to the excel PDF version.
I have uploaded an image to show you what I mean.
    http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=1z1ux6d&s=8
The image on the left is the correct version, this version was saved using the "Save As PDF" option built into excel. The image on the right is the version saved with the Excel acrobat add-in. You can notice how the font is different on acrobat version, the part where it says "Date" and "Description. You will also notice the black lines above the little card icons do not go right to the end of the line like they should. Each of of them little card icons is a seperate image, does Acroboat have trouble converting these little images or something as they appear fine on the Excel version.
Is there anything that can be done so converting it to PDF will look closer to how its suppose to look?

I checked the properties of each file. The Excel PDF version has more fonts listed in the properties section compared to the PDF maker one. I can select the "Date" and "description" and copy and paste it as text but now it appears the text is fine, its showing correctly now even though I havent changed anything.
The icon problem is still there though.
I have also attached another image of a close up of the little card icons:
    http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=nqac9j&s=8
The version on the right is correct, created within the built in PDF feature in Excel. The version on the left, created with the Excel pdf maker addin.

  • Can't open PNGs exported from photoshop

When I export something as a PNG file from Photoshop and then try to reopen it as a PNG file in photoshop I get the error 'Could not complete your request because the file-format module cannot parse the file.'
When I did a chat with Adobe the guy took control of my screen and basically came to the conclusion that I need to preview the file outside of Photoshop, edit it and then save it and then I'll be able to open it in Photoshop again (after changing the file extension back to a PNG because when I edit it that changes.)
This isn't actually working for me and I don't think it's actually an acceptable solution to this problem for software I'm spending a lot of money on, I'm also working for a company and have deadlines and this is taking up a lot of my time now.
If anyone from Adobe in particular could respond to this post and tell me how they are going to resolve this issue for me
    Thank you

also, when I then go to file > open it says 'could not complete your request because of a programme error'

  • Placed bitmaps in Illustrator from Photoshop have different colour breakdown?

When I place a bitmap in illustrator from Photoshop the colour breakdown changes. In photoshop, it could be set up using a 100% Solid black using CMY 0% and K100% but when I place this in illustrator the breakdown changes to say C:78.89%, M:80.45%, Y:88.90% K:90.45%.
Does anyone know why this happens and how to prevent it?
    Thanks!!

You cannot read the exact color values of a placed bitmap in Illustrator, you have to open the imaeg in photoshop. Never use SHIFT eyedropper if you desire color accuracy.
To prove this to yourself, you can use seperations preview to verify there is no CMY in your placed image, or print seperations to a laser printer.
Below are the values I get using shift eyedropper.
But look there is no CMY.

  • Export from FCE is different then the timeline

hi there, when I try to export from FCE the output file is different from the video in my timeline.
It concerns a screengrab recorded with QT10. That QT file is converted to a Apple intermediate codec - as I normally do with QT files.
I edit it & then export it to a h.264 QT HD file. There's clearly a difference between the final QT and the video in the timeline.
Shots mysteriously appear where they can't be seen in the timeline, cuts are not exact where I've put them.
I've tried a different output codec, re-did my AIC encoding but nothing helps..
Can't find any logical reason why this happens. It's the first time I've had this happen.
    Thx for feedback
    WS

I've tried several things but the problem remains.
I made a new AIC file @15fps and exported again to h.264 @ 15fps but I still see shots that are not in the timeline.
I have the impression that the exported files add about 10 frames ahead of the cut that I make in the timeline...
    Any helpfull insights are welcome
    Thx

  • Export from AVCHD looks like THIS: (image embedded) I've tried EVERYTHING

I'm using a Sony HDR-XR500V and importing using Apple Inter. Codec 1920x1080i60 in log and transfer and in "Canvas" in FCE, it looks GREAT, the motion is perfect.
However, no matter how I export (this was Export with Quicktime, uncompressed, size 1920x1080, but I've tried EVERYTHING) it looks like this. In Quicktime, I can hit "de-interlace" but it ghosts instead. I've tried de-interlace in exporting too.
In the original AVCHD files, and in Canvas on FCE, I can read the writing on everything, and I have not yet been able to export in any format where I can read the writing on the stones.
The exported files look like this on my PC as well... HELP!
PS... this was an image export from QT.

Well, as I said, it's not like that in the original AVCHD files, nor is it like that in the Canvas on FCE, so what do you mean when you say "That's the way the material is shot."?
I'm exporting my edited project to a file so I can stream it to my Sony Bravia TV in 1080.

  • Page looks different in Dreamweaver than browser with no errors!

My url is uchargeproject.com and the site looks horrible in Dreamweaver, but fine in my browser. I have also checked for errors with http://validator.w3.org/ and my site has only one now but still it doesn't work! (also why does it say height is not an attribute?)

When I look at your page in DW's Design view with CS6 (10.8.3/Mac), it looks pretty much the same as it does in the browser.
The page is much too wide, though. If you are targeting a general demographic (i.e., not a specialty one) then your page should be about 980px wide - no wider (since 1024 is still pretty much a lowest common screen size).
Which version of DW are you using?

  • Exporting from photoshop into premiere elements 8

    HI,
I created a slideshow in Photoshop elements and exported it to Premiere elements 8 but none of the blank slides with text came through.  The slides just look black on my sceneline.  I was going to break apart the slideshow for further edits, but I'm wondering why the text doesn't show and what to do.  Thx.

Using iTunes you can convert the audio to MP3, which will work in Premiere Elements.
Unless it's copy protected, as many iTunes songs are. (Which is why I buy my music from Amazon.)
To get around copy protection you need to burn your iTunes songs as a CD and then use Windows Media Player to rip the music back to your hard drive as an MP3.
For best results, in fact, download the free program Audacity and use it to convert the MP3s to WAV files, the ideal audio format for Premiere Elements.
iTunes has been relaxing things a bit lately -- but it used to take a remarkably convoluted system to make their music usable in a video project!

  • Because they are small files. dae exported from Photoshop?

Gender Photoshop 3D layers and export them as .dae and imported into iBooks Author are very small. Also if I do it from Blender. As I can do to make it look normal size? Thanks

am using a script which backups the folders and than in the next block tries to delete those folder from there original location. This is the script
    if ($confirmation -eq 'y') {
    # 3. BACKUP script
    ./bakup_mysite.ps1
#If i put a Read-Host here it does stop and than ask user to press any key and than it
deletes the next block, but i want to put a wait so user does not have to press any key
and everything happens automatically, # 3. BACKUP

}I would like the backup to finish first and than delete the original files, because if i use the above script while backup up some files gets locked and at the same time the next block gets executed and it tries to delete the files thats why i would like to put a wait for backup to finish
Check your assumptions.  How do you know that backup is the only process that might have a lock on those files?

  • Animated GIF exported from Photoshop is blurry

I have an animated GIF, 400px x 400px, 150dpi. It looks fine in Photoshop, but when I Save for Web and export it, the GIF appears in the browser double the size and blurry. Even if I choose the export settings to be half the size at 200px x 200px, the GIF is still blurry. I thought a retina display might have something to do with it, but when testing on a PC, the GIF is still too large, even though it appears more clear.
What am I doing wrong here? I just want what appears in Photoshop to appear in the browser.

What aspect ratio are the photos in the slideshow?  Have you tried cropping them to 3:2?

  • Page looks different in Dreamweave than online...why?

This is a fairly basic question, but it's driving me nuts! When I look at my menu in dreamweaver, it looks like this:
But when it's live it looks normal, like this:
Does anyone know why that happens? I think it has something to do with the

Also, what is that black box off to the left side in the first screen shot? I can't find anything in my code that would create it.  Here is the style sheet code (still a work in progress, please bear with me):
