Jpg images have gray background

I am using Fireworks from CS3 and for some reason when I export an image as a jpg, the resulting image has a faint gray background, instead of being pure white as I had intended. How do I stop this from happening?

I had this happen as well using CS5.  Is there a way to preavent this please?

  • Why jpg images have color?

I am preparing my book for print but all my jpg images that are supposed to be black and white have color in them when I look at the separations preview. Is there an easy way to remove all color from my jpg images?

If you used Save for Web... rather than Save As>JPEG then you grayscale got coverted to RGB.

  • Print pages have gray background

    Hi InDesign Experts,
I'm new to using InDesign, although I have ancient experience with Pagemaker... When I print the sample pages I've set up, the page prints in a light gray color. Is this normal? Or can I turn something off, so the text, images, and graphics display on a white page?
    Thanks for your help.

    Hi Peter,
My Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro includes: Acrobat Distiller.app, Acrobat uninstaller.app, Adobe Acrobat Pro.app, which to me means that it should be able to create PDF documents and read them with no problem.
OK, I retried creating a PDF. This time I located the resulting document, and it has no gray in the background of the document.
When I searched through HP's list of postscript printers, mine was not on its list. I bought that printer not all that long ago specifically because it said it was "Mac" compatible. I have an email into HP to see if they have a workaround download that I could get to give it that functionality. What kind of HP printer do you have?
    Thanks for your help.

That's what I wanted to verify about Acrobat. Yes, you should be using the Acrobat virtual printer rather than any OS converter, and if there's no gray in the PDF there should be none in the physical print either. For fun, print the PDF and see if it works better. That would confirm a printer driver issue in ID.

  • Illustrator images have white background

Why when I place AI images into my ID spreads do the AI images print with a white background? Bitmap or Photoshop images print with transparent backgrounds but AI images always have a white background.
Did I forget something in Illustrator?

When you open the place dialog, check the "show import options" box then check the transparent background box in the options section of the general tab. You can also choose the cropping there.
You only need to show the options again if you want to change them, and you can do it anytime, even with the box unchecked, by holding the shift key as you open the file.

  • Having just upgraded to Firefox 4.0, I find that when I print emails in Gmail they have gray background. How do I restore a white background?

The same is true when I print in Evernote, though not when I print my Google calendar. Any suggestions?

Browse to about:config and search for "browser.display.background_color". In my version of FF4, that was set to #C0C0C0 for some reason (when it should have been #FFFFFF)
To get there type: "about:config" in the address bar and search for "browser.display.background_color" then change to #FFFFFF
    Worked for me. Good Luck!

  • Superimposed jpg image comes with unwanted background

    hi.
I cut out an object from a jpg image and made a new jpg image with transparent background. Tested it on image editing program - the background is indeed transparent.
However, when i try to superimpose the image with transparent background on a video in PrE, the image is shown with a white background.
How do i remove that unwanted white background?

    Great news!
In many Image editors, Transparency is not clearly deliniated, and it just looks white. With display settings in Photoshop, Transparency will be shown as a checkerboard pattern, but when one does a Save_As to JPEG, that clearly goes white, alerting the user to the lack of Transparency in the JPEG.
    Good luck, and happy editing.

  • Blending an image into a background - hue/saturation grayed out

Thanks for your help. I am trying to blend an image to a background as is illustrated in this video:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xSehcaWFBVM
Rather than using the overlay tool, the lady in the video suggests using the ‘hue and saturation’ option to blend the photo with the background. I get all the way to this step, but then the ‘hue and saturation’ option (and pretty much all of the options under image – adjustments are grayed out. The ‘modes’ for both the background and the photo are the same (RGB and 8bit). I have been at this for hours (>4) and I cannot get past this step. I would be extremely grateful for some help as to how I might ‘free up’ the adjustment options and have this photo look similar to that showed in the video.
    Thanks.

  • How do i change the gray background to an image of my choice

how do i change the gray background to an image of my choice when exporting an swf in indesign cs6. i want like the wooden destop look behind my flipbook. please help.

appletv play audio out of optical out of hdmi and the old alu one play out the RCA too
the typical the white and red plug ins would be RCA if you have a atv2 (the black one) you cant use
RCA as that is analog and optical and hdmi are digital
you can get converters but some would be pricy and could cause delay between image and pictures for video

  • How to have a box layout on a JDialog, with an image set as background

    Hi,
I need to have a JDialog in which there is a background image set (I already did this part, but only with the default layout). I further need to add text to the lower part of the JDialog. (For this, I guess I need to have a box layout.). I am not able to do so, because if I do so, I wont be able to set image background to the entire JDialog. Please help me out with how to solve this issue?
    Thanks,
    Joby

    Hi jduprez,
Thanks for the reply. I checked Rob Camick's blog. It gives a nice way to add an image to a panel (*master panel*) and to use it.
I still have my problem open. The above solution gives panel that I can add to my JDialog. But on the bottom half of the image (as you said, BorderLayout.South), I need to add another structured set of components using a Border Layout again.!, ie, one more panel with a BorderLayout. So when I add
this panel, to the master panel containing the image, then the image gets cut off, at that point. I tried using component.setOpaque(false) on my sub-panel, still it does not work. Any idea, how to achieve this...?
Following is the code I have adapted.
