please help me convert my scanned documents (saved as jpeg) to a PDF. I need to be able to see the images clearly when I send them as an email attachment.

How do you remove the JPG or PDF image from the top right of a Portfolio window?
I'm using Acrobat X10.1.1 on an iMac with Mac OS X 10.7.2

I created a PDF Portfolio using the Wave layout. I added a few frames with a name and description.
I do not want to delete the image, I would like to remove the small jpg or pdf logo that appears on the picture (image) in the top right hand corner. The logo appears in both the Layout Mode and the Edit Mode. When I emailed the portfolio to myself the small logo was still in the picture.

Group of documents from .jpg to .pdf?

I need some help. I scanned 91 pages of documents and saved them in a folder on my desktop. The pages were scanned into my computer as .jpg and i need to send them as .pdf in an email. the file sizes are abnormally big too; each "picture" is about 1.7 MB! I tried to use Preview to open the .jpg and "save as" a .pdf but when i did that, it ended up turning it into a .pdf but with taking up the same amount of space. I tried to compress them but with no avail. i would have to send like 20 emails even with compressing them in groups of 5. There must be an easier way to send all of them at once, compressed, and in .pdf format. Please, can anyone help?

Now that you mention it, I just checked the jpg and pdf I used for a test and the pdf is slightly larger.
Even the compressed pdf I made is larger than the jpg.
If the jpg is actually text, then unless you OCR it, it won't compress much since it is really all graphics, including the text. In the pdf format, the text is not real pdf text which is why it won't compress.
Even zipping it does not make it smaller.
I would say that the files are about as dense as they can get. The only way to make them smaller would be to convert them to a lower res graphic.

Emailing a jpg or pdf file as an attachment

I have been emailed both a jpg and pdf file that I want to send attached to an email. The email box pops up with the file in the attachment box, then it won't send.

Have you upgraded to Yosemite? Then you could send the attachment using Mail Drop.
You can use Mail Drop to send files that exceed the maximum size allowed by the provider of your email account. Mail Drop uploads the large attachments to iCloud, where they’re encrypted and stored for up to 30 days.
If you have an iCloud account and you’re signed in to iCloud when you click Send, Mail automatically sends the attachments using Mail Drop. Mail Drop attachments don’t count against your iCloud storage.
If you don’t have an iCloud account, or if you’re not signed in, Mail asks you whether to use Mail Drop (select “Don’t ask again for this account” to always use Mail Drop).
If a recipient uses Mail in OS X Yosemite, the attachments are automatically downloaded and included in your message just like any other attachment. For other recipients, your message includes links for downloading the attachments and their expiration date.
You can turn Mail Drop on or off for an account. Choose Mail > Preferences, click Accounts, select your account, click Advanced, then select or deselect “Send large attachments with Mail Drop.”

Yes was able to crack it with the the Following FM's
CALL FUNCTION 'C13Z_FILE_DOWNLOAD_ASCII' for ASCII type (.txt)
CALL FUNCTION 'C13Z_FILE_DOWNLOAD_BINARY' for Binary (.JPG/.PDF/*.doc)

Can't insert jpg or pdf files as object in ppt (icon)

I'm trying to insert jpg or pdf files into a powerpoint. I recieved these files via email from PC users. The are saved on my Powerbook in jpg and pdf formats. When I try to insert them into a powerpoint presentation as objects (icon) I keep getting the following error message:
The server application, source file or item cannot be found, check that the path and file name are correct or try reinstalling the server application.
I get the same message when I try to open these files when sent to me embedded in a powerpoint. I can both insert and read word files in powerpoint, but not jpg and pdf. Any suggestions? I need to be able to do this for may job so any help is much appreciated. Didn't know what forum to put this in so hope it belongs here.

I recently had to do a job in powerpoint that required inserting jpeg files. The only way I found was to use the insert menu, down to picture and 'from file' to choose the image.
This worked every time without error for over 120 slides.

Converting jpgs to pdf, combine and upload

I want to convert about 90 JPGs into PDFs, combine them into a single PDF and then upload them. Would welcome some basic advice. I know about PDFLab but not sure how to convert them into PDFs first.

You can do that easily with Apple's Preview program.
Open one of the .jpg files in Preview. Click the "Sidebar" button in the toolbar to show the sidebar. Drag all the other .jpgs into the sidebar. Drag them into the order you want. Select them all in the sidebar, select File -> Print, click the PDF button, and choose Save As PDF.

Free trial version unable to convert jpg to pdf

I have downloaded the free trial of adobe but it will not allow me to convert a jpg to pdf. Does anyone know if I have to buy adobe in order to do so?

How do I upload a JPG or PDF to Adbove Line to trace, red line, or comment? If it doesn't allow you to upload a JPG or PDF (thinking engineering drawings) then I would consider this a serious omission.

Sorry for the delayed response here. Have you tried uploading files to your Creative Cloud account and importing to Line? Creative Cloud supports a wide variety of file formats and creates renditions in the format that is requested by the app.
Also, there should be no difference between the set of photos accessible to Sketch and those accessible to Line.

You can use Adobe PDF Pack or purchase Adobe Acrobat. There is no jpg-to-pdf conversion in Workspaces.

ANSWER FOUND!
Once I finished composing my question I went back and spent some time to figure out the problem. Rather than choosing the "save as" option, which doesn't work, or attempting to choose "export" (grayed out), the correct option is to choose "export creation", which is near the very bottom of the initial drop down options. That works! I still think it would make sense to have it as an option in the "save as" area.

Imported documents (jpg and pdf) showing up negative photos

I am putting together a newsletter in Pages '09 (v 4.3). From time-to-time, when I import a JPG or PDF that has a photo in the document, the photo reverses itself and becomes a negative image. Any ideas on how to fix this?

I think I may have solved this.... I am not sure which of these steps did it or if it really requires all of them, but this worked for me (well pretty much...)
My theory based on observations above was maybe the system photo library was still somehow set to the old iPhoto one and I needed to force it to update. So, I created a new photo library by starting up photos with 'option' held down. I added a couple of photos to it, and in photos preferences on my mac set it to be the system library. I then started iTunes and synced it to my iPhone - the photos in the new library appeared on the phone. I then quit photos and iTunes, restarted photos with 'option' held down and this time selected the 'proper' photos library. I set it to the system lib in photos preferences. For good measure I also cleared the iPod photo cache in this library (detailed instructions for all of these steps were just taken from online help).
Now when I restart iTunes and resynced, all worked!!
The only outstanding issue is for some reason a seemingly random collection of old photos from years ago are being synced too, despite the fact I told it to just do the last 12 months in iTunes. Still much better than before!
