JPXImport in linux (jdeveloper 10.1.3..3.0.3)

Hi All,
I am unable to see jpximport in my jdev bin on linux (ubuntu lucid). Any solution/pointers? using direct java command gives error about class path.
Thanx in advance

Hi Anil ,
Thanx for quick reply, I am aware of that, but it is .bat file for windows, there is no .sh or linux version script.

  • Using Command Line Tool for Linux

  • No option to create new workspace in JDeveloper; turning BPEL Designer "on"

I'm trying to do some BPEL work on Linux, using JDeveloper Studio 10.1.3.4.
    A couple of issues:
    1) although the BPEL Designer shows up as a component in the "About", and BPEL Process Modeler shows up as a loaded extension in the same place, BPEL Process Project is a grayed-out option in New Projects. This may simply be due to the fact that BPEL Designer apparently needs to be turned "on", and I've yet to figure out how to do that on Linux (since the documentation is mostly for Windows).
So if this problem is solved by turning the JDeveloper BPEL Designer "on", I sure wouldn't mind knowing how to do it on Linux. It's easy enough to start the BPEL Process Manager - I have that running right now - but I see no shell script anywhere in the SOA Suite installation that remotely looks like it might start BPEL Designer.
    2) Many of the tutorials say that one should create a workspace in JDeveloper. According to them this is available as an option under File > New. Well, in Linux JDeveloper Studio 10.1.3.4 it's not available at all. It doesn't even exist as a disabled option. I find this curious, and somewhat disturbing.
Any ideas as to why something so central doesn't show up?
    Regards,
    Arved

OK, good to know, John. Eventually a person figures it out one way or the other. I realize all of this stuff exists in documentation someplace, but there's only so many hours in the day. And if you're using JDeveloper 10.1.3, with JDeveloper 11 already available, you don't necessarily expect a lot of the articles you run across to be so old that they still refer to workspaces. I'm not saying that these are necessarily Oracle articles.
As an aside I've found Oracle documentation to be pretty good. I use Oracle software on Windows, Mac OS X and Linux. For ESB and BPEL on Linux the main problem with the docs is that they are incomplete. It's disconcerting to see continual references to having to turn BPEL Designer on, in Windows, and have no instructions concerning that for Linux, as one example. As it happens, doing a "startall" for opmnctl does everything I need, so if there's a separate BPEL Designer started up by that (as opposed to the BPEL Process Manager) I guess that's where it gets fired up. That may also be covered in documentation someplace, for Linux, but I haven't found it.

I really couldn;t understand about the error. Even i tried reading as Opaque format and still end up with same error.
In order to make sure i have create mediator and tried reading the file, in case i was able to read file upto 15mb with out any error. Also i tried as  "read as Attachment" in Bpel component and able to read the attachment upto 7 mb file, but this is hitting the performance side.

Can you check your BPEL Properties in EM?
Go to Soa-infra > right Click > SOA Administration > BPEL properties
increase the Dispatcher Engine Thread = 10, Dispatcher Invoke Threads = 60 and Dispatcher Engine Threads to 90
Click on "More BPEL Configuration Properties"
Increase the  DispatcherMaxRequestDepth from 600 to 1000.
Bounce the server and see if works..
Bounce the server and try again.
If this fails, try get a threshold by increasing the file size until it fails again.

Looks like its the same issue as sun bug 4599491. There is something in the fonts file for your OS which Java doesn't like. You might want to pull down 1.3.1_04 from Sun and install it in a seperate home (not sure if Borland changed anything in the JDK) and try that out.
Apart from that, look at your font configuration files ( not sure where on Linux ) and see if something looks out of line.
    Hope this helps,

  • JDeveloper 11.1.2 install on Oracle Linux 6 U1 64 bit

I am trying to install jDeveloper on Oracle Linux 6 U1 (6.1) and keep getting a variety of errors. I know that jDeveloper does not support 64 bit Operating Systems very well. However with the majority of new systems being 64 bit and the memory limitations of 32 bit is jDeveloper going to move into the next century and support 64 bit jvm's and operating systems natively? When will this happen?

You might be having issues with JDeveloper on Oracle Linux 6, however - the WebLogic install scripts, etc. do not include support for Oracle Linux 6 as of yet, nor Java 7.
Take a look at the certification matrix for operating systems and Java versions in JDeveloper:

  • JDeveloper - Linux to Windows

A Java application was written in our office using JDeveloper 9.0.3 on Linux. It can run "stand-alone". We now want to test it to run on Windows. We are receiving many errors to do with classes that can't be found. The windows machine is using JDeveloper 9i. What is the problem here?

Can you give more precise error messages?
I think that the classpath on your windows machine is not correct. Have a look at the "Project Settings", if you have all libraries needed to compile on the windows machine.
If the library is not found, it will be marked red in the libraries dialog of Project Settings.
Often the paths of Linux systems don't match to the Windows paths.
    Good luck.

  • Problems trying to run JDeveloper 9.0.2 on Linux

    Dear All,
I am facing problems while trying to run JDeveloper 9.0.2 (release 2) on my Linux machine.
When I invoke jdev/bin/jdev file, the well-known JDeveloper window starts up, but in my console I keep on getting the following error:
    JDeveloper Error:
    java.lang.NoSuchMethodError
    at oracle.ide.marshal.xml.Object2Dom.getNamespaceURI(Object2Dom.java:1158)

JDeveloper is only supported with JDK 1.3.1_02 as we are aware of some issues with 1.3.1_04. Can you try with JDK 1.3.1_02 and see whether the problem still reproduces.

Is anyone successfully running jDeveloper on Linux and depolying BPEL Projects?

  • How to use jdeveloper with linux?

how to use jdeveloper with linux?
Hello, i've download jdeveloper, and i have java1.4 installed. But i can't run jdeveloper i have jdev.exe and jdev but when i put /usr/local/jdev/bin/jdev a have a message like file not found. I don't know what to do.
    Help please!!!
    Ori.

You need to go to the directory where you unzipped JDeveloper, for example:
    cd opt/jdev/jdevj2eebase1013/jdev/bin
    Once there, do this:
    chmod +x jdev
    chmod +x ojc
    Now you can try this:
    nohup ./jdev &
    or simply
    ./jev
I usually create a soft link in ~/bin

I currently have SUSE linux 10.0, (kernel 2.6.13-15.8-smp), JDev version 10.1.3.0.4 SU2I with jdk 1.5.4 and I am facing various problems where JDeveloper hangs or behaves unexpectedly. For example if I create a JSF page as a jspx document then the visual editor does not display data correctly.
My machine is 2.8 GHz P4 CPU with 2 GB of RAM so I do not think that I am having any problem with my system resources.
I have also read somebody else complain about the debugger being very slow on SuSE linux so I want to know if anybody else is facing similar problems.

I no problem running jdev 10.1.3 on my latest SuSE ;). however, i got problem in running the debugger. the problem is the debugger stepping so slow. each step takes about 5-10 seconds . i have no idea how to solve this problem. but it has no problem on kubuntu 5.10 at all. i wonder i could be the kernel. but just my guess only.
