Jre-6u6-windows-i586-p-s.exe Help

Hello,
Using SMS I am having a problem on a couple machines when pushing jre-6u6-windows-i586-p-s.exe with string /s /v"/qn ADDLOCAL=ALL JAVAUPDATE=0 JU
=0 AUTOUPDATECHECK=0" First problem is I have two machines that execute the process and it just sits there forever. I can take the .MSI and install it on those machines fine. I have beat my head against the wall trying to figure out why. This turned out to be macafee
My other problem is even on the machines it works on the update feature is enabled no matter what. I suppose there is no method for turning off auto update during the install

I have a process Monitor log but its all greek to me and its 4mb !

I keep getting a jre or j2re update button in my W2K
system tray when I boot up. it suggests I download
and install a file with such a name. However, this
file has no verifiable certificate info, like source,
company, etc., so I decline to install it. The file
show 0 bytes and (of course) will not install, even
at the DOS level.
I assume this does not come from Sun. Any way I can
get rid of this annoying update that seems to be a
fake? Thanx.tskler jawa iin de nasıl indircem ?

Alternatively, why not actually reference Oracle official documentation or post in their forums (because as Torsten said, this really has nothing to do with ConfigMgr or Microsoft even).

  • How do I install required plug-in jre-1_5_0_11-windows-i586.xpi

I'm trying to use Mozilla Firefox 3.6.15 with the Web Version of QPASA 4.0.0.80a, an MQSeries monitoring tool. When I point to the QPASA URL, I'm prompted to install a plugin. However, when I try to install it, Firefox looks for http://javadl-esd.sun.com/update/1.5.0/jre-1_5_0_11-windows-i586.xpi, but says it can't install it because the Install script was not found (-204).
When I google jre-1_5_0_11-windows-i586.xpi, I find it's actually located at http://java.sun.com/update/1.5.0/jre-1_5_0_11-windows-i586.xpi. However, even when I paste this location into the Firefox url window, Firefox STILL insists on looking for it in http://javadl-esd.sun.com/update/1.5.0/jre-1_5_0_11-windows-i586.xpi and fails.
How can I get Firefox to look for this file in the correct location?

That xpi package looks like an installer for Java 1.5.0-11, that is from 2006 - 5 years ago. You really don't want to install Java 1.5.0-11 because it won't work with Firefox 3.6+ versions, which need Java 1.6.0-12 or higher with the Second Generation Plugin.
The file I got from both of those URL's is the same (right-click the link and use Save Link As... so Firefox doesn't try to install it and fail - then open it with 7-Zip to examine the internal files). That XPI package is too old for recent versions of Firefox, it has an install.js file that was used by Firefox 1.5 and prior versions. Firefox 2.0 and newer use an install.rdf file.

  • Need help with jre-1_5_0_04 windows i586 use windows 98 first edition HELP

    HI,
this is my first post here so please bear with me while I try to explain the problems I seem to be having here . I hope that someone here can assist me with these issues as well???
I am using the windows98 first edition, and I wanted to use the latest version of java which I think is this 1_5_0_04 version, but when I get it download it said it is recommended that I not use this version,
but I work with Yahoo sitebuilder for my online websites and need this verision to get sitebuilder to work?
Now I read somewhere just dont remember where forgive me, but it said in that artical that there is a workaround or something to that nature to make this version of Java to work with the windows 98 version I am using?
I do seem to have other versions of java on this PC as well but dont no how to remove them all and where to look to remove the older versions of java if need be to get this latest version of java to work right for me?
I did the test and it said I have the latest version of the java but like I said it now wont seem to work with this yahoo site builder and it was working before but just mega and I do mean mega sloww???
can someone please further assist me with this and please, I will need detail step by step as to how to get this java to work with my PC and be workable with the Yahoo sitebuilder as well???
thanks in advance and I eagerly await some useful steps to try out here .
I think also that I might need to go in and change paths or classes or something of that nature as well to try to get it to work. the java??
Now the download took I wanted to mention apart from the install part that said this might not be compatiable with the version of windows that I am useing but I am hopeing again that there is a work around to this issue??
    thanks
    LIBBY

There is no work around, that Windows version is no longer compatible.
You can find older versions of Java here:
    http://java.sun.com/products/archive/index.html
You may want to find the latest version that is compatible with your Windows, and install that.
I strongly recommend that you uninstall all existing Java versions first. Do that using Windows' Add/Remove Program function.

  • Jre-1_5_0_04-windows-amd64 - INSTALLATION TROUBLES.

    Dear Sir / Madam
    I'm using AMD64 (Athlon 64 - Skt.939) based PC runnig Windows XP Professional x64 Edition (Build 3790 - SP1 v.1433).
I'm trying to install "jre-1_5_0_04-windows-amd64.exe" on my PC but wahterver I try to install either 64 or 32bit versions, Windows Installer crashes.....Windows closes "Installer" due to "security reasons"...I've tried to exclude Windows Installer application from DEP (data execution prevent) list but NOWAY! It always crashes the same!
Any idea or suggestions? Please help me! Thanx!

I am having a similar problem. I just bought a brand
new laptop with an AMD 64 Athlon proccessor running
Window XP Home Edition (with all the latest serve
packs fixes etc...). When I try to install I get a
message that says "The installation package is not
supported by the processor type. Contant your product
    vendor".
I wonder if this is common problem !!!I GUESS YOU ARE USING: "jre-1_5_0_04-windows-i586.exe"
NOTE: If ur so plz consider that (see: http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.5.0/system-configurations.html):
"jre-1_5_0_04-windows-i586.exe" only supports Intel processors (IA-32) based PC running WINDOWS XP Pro or Home Edition (they're both 32bit Operative Systems).
"jre-1_5_0_04-windows-i586.exe" also supports AMD64 processor based PC but only running WINDOWS 2003 SERVER 32-bit mode (yes...you can install and use that Server Operative System on either 32-bit or 64-bit mode like most of larger Server Operative Systems...but this is another "tale"...).
As u use Windows XP Home Ed. (that's a 32-bit O.S...also) on a PC fitting a 64-bit CAPABLE CPU (AMD64) I guess you should GREATLY CONSIDER TO "UPGRADE" (re-install) a "brand new" Windows XP PRO 64bit Ed. and after that u'll be able (maybe you'll need to use a little workaround.....see:XXXXXX ) to use "jre-1_5_0_04-windows-amd64"
    P.S.
    1) Should you decide to upgrade to Win Xp Pro 64-bit Ed. consider u'll not be able (at least for the moment...) to let your webcam and scanner (and maybe other peripherals...) work, due to an "un-availability" of 64-bit driver supporting thoose "stuffs"!!!!!
    2) Should you NOT DESIRE to upgrade ur Operative System, (I guess) you'll have to "wait patiently" a little bit more till Sun 'll release a version of JRE or JDK suitable for your "case" (64 bit CPU + 32 bit Operative System)....hopefully :)

  • J2sdk-1_4_2_04-windows-i586-p.exe didn't install JRE correctly.

I realize that j2sdk-1_4_2_04-windows-i586-p.exe didnt install JRE probably.
Server folder which is used for Java HotSpot Server VM was not found in C:\Program Files\Java\j2re1.4.2_04\bin.
Hence, i need to manually copy the folder D:\j2sdk1.4.2_04\jre\bin\server to JRE location.
I was wondering is this the correct way to do so? anyone of u have encounter this problem before?
    thank you.
    regards
    yancheng

If a previous version of the JRE is installed, remove the previous JRE and install the j2sdk 1.4.2_04 JRE.

  • J2re-1_4_1_01-windows-i586.exe  Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library Runtim

    I am using Netscape 6.2.1, Windows 98
    I download Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition 1.4.1_01
    * Download j2re-1_4_1_01-windows-i586.exe .
    Filesize = 8,015,928 bytes.
When I looked in the directory the file was listed as
    j2re-1_4_1_01-windows-i586
    7,829KB
Does the file downloaded size discrepency have significance?
Double clicking on the file activated the process:
    "After the InstallShield Wizard
    Setup Status
Java 2 Runtime Environment, SE v1.4.1_01 Setup is performing the requested operations."
After that function appered to finish with a 100% complete, I received the following error:
    "Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
    Runtime Error!
    Program: C:\PROGRAM FILES\JAVA\J2RE1.4.1_01\LIB\UNPACK.EXE
    abnormal program termination
    OK"
Note, I may have installed Visual C++ in the past but have never used it. Does this error imply there are some missing links to Visual C++ that have confused and caused an error?
    Any suggestions would be appreciated.
    [email protected]

    Hi, crlare,
    The official file size
    8,015,928 bytes
    = (8,015,928 / 1024) kilobytes, since 1 kbyte = 1024 bytes
    = 7828.0546875 kbytes
= 7829 kbytes after rounding up
Therefore your downloaded file seems to have the correct size. To make a better check,
    1. right click on your downloaded file;
    2. select Properties;
    3. check the size in bytes in brackets against the official size in bytes; the "bytes used" is the actual space allocated to store the data.
The Visual C++ runtime error is caused by a faulty installation of the Java bundle, which could have arisen due to interference by other applications that are open during the installation of the Java bundle. e.g. Interference by virus protection software running in the background. This error has also been known to occur in the installations of other programs.
To fix the problem, uninstall the Java Runtime Environment (JRE) you have installed, and reinstall it with all non-critical applications closed:
    1. Choose Start > Settings > Control Panel.
    2. Double-click Add/Remove Programs, select Java 2 Runtime Environment, SE v1.4.1_01 (or something similar), click on the Add/Remove button to uninstall the JRE.
    3. Reboot your system.
    4. Close all non-critical applications, including background running programs such as antivirus programs and Microsoft Task Scheduler. This can be checked/done by pressing Ctrl-Alt-Del, selecting each item except Explorer (and Systray), and clicking End Task for each.
    5. Reinstall the JRE.
    6. Reboot your system.
    Hope this helps.

  • Java Web Start didn't install with j2sdk-1_4_2_04-windows-i586-p.exe

I just uninstalled all my java stuff from my XP Pro system
    then re-installed... j2sdk-1_4_2_04-windows-i586-p.exe
With the SDK installation... j2re1.4.2_04 also installed... I think this is the Java Runtime
But, before I had a folder for Java Web Start... not I don't...
    AND, the file... javaws-1_2-windows-i586-i.exe
refered to on the Java Web Start Installation page isn't on my system anymore...
(It was in an older vrsion of the Java Runtime... ( I had 2 java Runtimes at once installed, that is why I uninstalled... and even though I had Java Web Start, it wasn't working... so I deleted everything and reinstalled the j2sdk-1_2_04-windiws-i586-p.exe.)
I would just download the java Web Start but the docs tell me it should be installed when the SDK and Runtime are installed... so I worry if I got the installation correct.
Can anyone please advise me of how to get things working again.
thanks for any help - Will

I fixed this broblem just install both JDK and JRE.

  • Silent Install of j2re-1_4_2_03-windows-i586-p.exe ???

I have tried to do a silent installtion of j2re-1_4_2_03-windows-i586-p.exe with this command line syntax :
    j2re-1_4_2_03-windows-i586-p.exe /S /v/qn"ADDLOCAL=ALL IEXPLORER=1 INSTALLDIR=C:\java\jre REBOOT=Suppress JAVAUPDATE=0 /L C:\temp\javainstall.log"
The installation process starts what I could see in Task Manager a process called " j2re-1_4_2_03-w" starts but dissapear in 10 sec and the installation does not continue what I could see. No installation directory has been created and no log etc.
Do anyone have any clue what could be the issue here, do I use wrong syntax etc ??
We are going to use Sun Java runtime instead of Microsoft Java Virtual Machine, when that is going to be unsupported Sept 30 -04.

The correct syntax for the command line should be
    j2re-1_4_2_03-windows-i586-p.exe /s /v"/qn ADDLOCAL=ALL IEXPLORER=1 INSTALLDIR=C:\java\jre REBOOT=Suppress JAVAUPDATE=0 /L C:\temp\javainstall.log"
The first " (Quote) should be between the /v and the /qn without any spaces. There should be a space after the /qn and before any other parameters.

  • Install fails j2re-1_4_2_01-windows-i586.exe

I'm also having this problem with j2sdk-1_4_2_01-windows-i586.exe. The install starts ok, but I ghen get "Failed to extract file Dll_.ini" from the binary table. the 1.3 runtime installs fine, but it looks like the installer changed with 1.4

I finally got this running, but it doesn't make a lot of sense. I took a look at: http://support.installshield.com/kb/view.asp?pcode=ALL&articleid=Q105416&source=support_central&product=wind
I wasn't willing to make all the security changes it suggested, but tried a couple of them which didn't work and I restored the original permissions. I noticed that most if not all gave permissions to local admins, but not domain admins. That gave me the idea of trying log on to the local machine. I did that and both the jre and jdk installed without a hitch. I can't explain why this worked as this machine and my office machine are virtually the same and I built most of both networks. I log on to both machines with my domain userid. The office machine worked the first time. I will be taking a look at the installshield article again to compare the settings on both machines.
Bottom line, try logging in on the local machine and installing.
