JRE 7 update 3 with javafx offline installation

Hi,
I am testing the option to run javafx application in a clean client machine with only JRE 7 update 3 installed on it.
when I install jre 7 update 3 on this machine from Oracle web site I have two options: online install or offline install, if I do offline install then jre installation does NOT install the javafx runtime, if I install the online install of the JRE than at the end of the installation it also installs the Javafx runtime.
this happens as well in JRE 7 update 2.
Is this a bug of Oracle?
thanks.

Hi,
Thanks for your answer, the information from the Javafx website is quite confusing as they state that every time the JRE is installed than the Javafx runtime is also installed from JRE 7 update 2 (no word about online or offline installation), see text from the website:
"Starting with Java SE 7 Update 2 and JavaFX 2.0.2, the JavaFX Runtime is co-installed every time the JRE is installed. The JavaFX Runtime is also installed with the JavaFX SDK, but you can still download a stand-alone version of the JavaFX Runtime here"
taken from http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javafx/downloads/index.html
maybe they mean the JDK installation...
thanks,
leli.Yes, and the online installation does exactly that. The offline installation is only provided as an extra service, if you make use of that service you are expected to know what you are doing. So use the online installation and you can stop being confused.

  • Having problem with "windows on top" in jre 6 update 12

I'm having issue with the jre 6 update 12 with our Swing application. It works fine with update 11. The issue is that my JFrame is somehow getting set to be "always on top" once I've opened an closed a modal dialog from that JFrame. Here is the steps:
    1) Open a JFrame (note the "alwaysOnTop" is not set to true).
    2) Click on a button which will open a modal dialog.
    3) While the dialog is open click on the underlying JFrame (nothing happens as modal dialog is blocking it).
    4) Now close the dialog and suddenly the parent JFrame is now set to be always on top. This won't happen if I didn't click on the parent JFrame while the dialog was open.
Has anyone else encountered this issue with jre 6 update 12? I'm really puzzled as to why this is happening. There is nothing in the release note to suggest there has been any change in this area in this release. Any help would be much appreciated?

  • Where can I get a full offline installer for App-v 4.6 Client with sp3 integrated?

    Hi there
I’m looking for a link to download the app-v client installation files, with the latest service pack integrated.
We currently have to deploy 4.6Sp1, then apply updates to the client to get it to 4.6 sp3.
Is there an offline installer available with the SP3 binaries already slipstreamed in?
    Cheers
    Max

    No.
If you have access to the Microsoft VL site, you'll find the latest App-V binaries in the MDOP ISO. What ever is there is what's available.

  • JRE 6 update 11 installs via GPO but fails in Internet Explorer

The problems I am experiencing are a bit different than those I've read about here and elsewhere. I am installing JRE 1.6.0.11 to WinXP clients via group policy. The installation itself appears to work OK but when I go to test Java I am finding that IE 7 reports that Java is not installed. When I check Firefox there is no problem.
In IE I have made sure that Java is activated in Advanced Options, have cleared the cache (repeatedly) and have checked out the Java control panel to make all appears to be correct.
I found that Java downloaded and installed directly onto my test machine does run as expected.
I compared registry entries with a second test machine where Java was downloaded directly, installed and functions as expected. Found a few differences but changing the registry on first test machine to mimic the registry on the second machine did not solve the problem.
I also tried a few suggestions from appdeploy.com.
So far, nothing seems to help. I am guessing that some file is failing to register properly when the installed is pushed by GPO.
Has anyone had any similar experiences? Suggestions anyone?
    Thanks
    Cliff

Possibly Java's new "patch-in-place" for the JRE that became effective with updates from 6u10 to later versions is involved. JRE updates by default will update the existing JRE rather than installing an additiona JRE. See [http://java.sun.com/javase/6/docs/technotes/guides/jweb/otherFeatures/jre_install.html]

  • When will the Flash for Firefox offline installer provide the latest update 17.0.0.134?

    Hello guys,
I was trying to update Flash via the offline installers due to unresolvable issues with the online installer. It downloaded adn started fine. However, it still shows "Flash 16.0" in the installer name during installation routine. All other offline installers for IE and Chrome worked perfectly fine.
I now had to bypass this by using Avast Antivirus's "Software Updater" to get the latest version.
    Please fix that ASAP!
    Thanks

    I used this URL: http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/latest/help/install_flash_player.exe
Both the IE installer (http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/latest/help/install_flash_player_ax.exe) and Chrome installer (http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/latest/help/install_flash_player_ppapi.ex e) using their respective links updated Flash Player to the latest version, only this one didn't work.

Yes, I had found a similar solution also.  I'm running XP Pro, SP3.  I went Control Panels/ Add-Remove programmes/apple software update/ change/ repair.  Then run the 10.5 exe.
While the programme updated from version 8 of iTunes, my new iTunes is now a mess.  Not all of my music was in the same folder previously but it all showed up on iTunes.  Now many albums have been left out, some have only a few tracks and some have two copies of some tracks as well as having other tracks missing.  I haven't begun to work on that.

  • I'm not able to download Itunes.  I keep getting this Apple Software Update message that states "There is a problem with this Windows installer package.  A program required for this install to complete could not be run.  Contact your package vendor"

Not able to access Itunes store anymore.  Just quit working for no reason.  I've tried deleting Itunes and related components from the Control Panel, but when I try to remove Apple Software Update, I get a message that states "There is a problem with this Windows installer package.  A program required for this install to complete could not be run.  Contact your support personnel or package vendor".  Not sure what this message means.  Am I suppose to contact Apple ?  What is meant by package vendor ?

Apparently it's an itunes issue. I just tried to update and got the same issue. Called att to activate my iphone 4s and they say they can do the swap but apple is telling them itunes is down atm.  So will have to wait

I am experiencing the exact same issue during the installtion process for iTunes 10.5.
I uninstalled all Apple components but when I attempted to uninstall the Apple Software Update I received the same message: "Fatal error during installtion." I was able to repair the Apple Software Update but still could not install iTunes 10.5 afterwards.
I have tried everything that I could find on these discussions pages as well as other suggestions on third party sites. I continue to receive the error message: "There is a problem with this Windows Installer Package. A program run as part of the setup did not finish as expected. Contact your support personnel or package vendor.
I was able to uninstall and reinstall QuickTime 7.7.1. During the reinstalltion process I received the same message (There is a problem with this Windows Installer Package. I have no idea what this message means or what to do....

There is a problem with the Window installer package. A program required for this intall to complete could not be run. Contact your support personnel or package venfor.
Perhaps let's first try updating your Apple Software Update.
Launch Apple Software Update ("Start > All Programs > Apple Software Update"). Does it launch and offer you a newer version of Apple Software Update? If so, choose to install just that update to Apple Software Update. (Deselect any other software offered at the same time.)
If the ASU update goes through okay, try another iTunes install. Does it go through without the errors this time?

  • HT1926 When I try to update ITunes on my PC (Windows XP), the repeated message is "There is a problem with this Windows Installer package.  A program required for this install to complete could not be run.  Contact your support personnel or package vendor

How to update ITunes on my PC (Windows XP)?? Repeated attempts produce this messsage: "There is a problem with this Windows Installer package.  A program required for this install to complete could not be run.  Contact your support personnel or package vendor."  I have an older version of ITunes on the computer.  Why can't I update it?

    Repair your Apple software update.
Go to START > ALL PROGRAMS > Apple Software Update. If it offers you a newer version of Apple Software Update, do it but Deselect any other software offered at the same time. Once done, try another iTunes install
If you don't find ASU, go to Control Panel:
START > CONTROL PANEL/ > Add n Remove Programs, highlight ASU and click CHANGE then REPAIR

Any Ideas of how to solve this one?

After reading all these posts, one by one did not resolve my problem until I got the very end.  Regardless of what step would resolve your problem, these are the steps I would recomment to everyone for a what seems to be a safe and fool-proof upgrade to iTunes 10.5.
    1. Stand alone upgrade to the latest Quicktime version
    2. Go to control panel and "change" then select repair to the following applications in the order specified by the post on Oct 27. (Notice I skipped Quicktime because it had been upgrade manually, and Bonjour did not have a "repair" option)
iTunes; Apple Software Update: Mobile Device Support; Apple Applications Support
Some of these applications may not appear if they do not apply to your configuration (no iPhone, or no iPad, or other apple devices).
Once all updated, I did not need to restart nor launch any applications, I simply went straight into the 10.5 upgrade, and where it normally got stuck, this time the installation continued for a while longer until it completed successfully.
Great work everyone who contributed!  Thank you very much!
