Jre-7u5-windows-x64 will not install correctly

When ever I try to install it it tells me to retry later, which I do, but it still doesn't work.
The correct name for this is: Java(TM) Update 5 (64-bit)

Is this not the same like the black screen on the iMac?
With the iMac, we had to remove the ati drivers in order to continue. The steps I did with the iMac are as follows:
35. Boot from the Win7 install DVD.
36. Click Next
37. Click Repair your Computer
38. Select "Restore your computer using a system image that you created earlier
39. Click Next
40. Click Cancel
41. Click Cancel
42. Click Command Prompt
43. > c:
44. cd c:\windows\system32\drivers\
45. del ati*
46. Close the command prompt
47. Click Restart
This time, Windows should successfully initialise a more appropriate display driver, allowing you into the desktop.

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.
The section Install missing components has advice on breaking down the iTunes installer into the individual .msi files which might prove useful if one component won't install normally.
If needs be, the Microsoft Program Install and Uninstall Utility (MS Installer "Fixit") may be able to help force through the installation.

  • Java x64 will not install...

    Greetings,
I had JRE 6.0 Update 17 installed in both 32-bit and 64-bit versions. The operating system is Windows 7 64-bit. I was attempting to uninstall Update 17 and then install Update 18 (as I do with every new Java release). While uninstalling, I got an error message saying that it could not be uninstalled (this happened on the 32-bit and 64-bit versions). I saw on the Java website where they recommended using the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility to uninstall them, which I did. I was then able to install Update 18 32-bit without any problems and it works fine. However, I can't get Update 18 64-bit to install. When I double-click the installer, I get an hour glass for about 2 seconds, then nothing happens. i have tried redownloading and running the file 4 additional times. I even downloaded it on another PC and transferred it to my PC via a flash drive. It will not install. It's like it 'attempts' to do something, then sees the "requirements" are correct and stops. I have even tried to reinstall Update 17 64-bit, which won't install either. I have used CCleaner, Revo Uninstaller, and JavaRa. I have even manually removed registry entries and files/folders. I still can't get Java 64-bit installed?!?! Does anyone have any ideas?
    -Thanks

    More of a Unix way
But I don't think the repair permissions process is of much help on this occasion (except possibly for the original post?) I did it and got the usual long list of permission problems (see thread 1965105) which have nothing to do with anything in this case.
This Java update seems to be causing problems for many people. There are at least three threads on it now. One of the answers says it's a defective download and the correct approach (as we've found) is to update manually.

  • Error code 31, Drivers will not install correctly

I am using the following NI PXI cards in a Chroma chassis:
    8360
    5112 or a 5114
    7352 (I think)
I have a Toshiba laptop, Satellite L305D-S5934 running Vista, on which I am trying to install the driver package.  Everything installs fine, with no errors.  When I plug in the expresscard, turn on the chassis, and then boot the computer, the 8360 installs and is recognized in Device Manager and in MAX.  The other two cards will not install.  I get an error code 31 in device manager on the PCI-PCI/PXI bridge stating that Windows cannot load the driver.
I have another Toshiba laptop, Satellite L305D-S5895, which specs out about the same, also running Vista, which runs with no problems at all with the same card, cable, and chassis.  Any previous experience with this issue?  Thanks in advance for any timely help you can offer, and I'll gladly supply you folks with as much info as I can.  Attached is a screen shot of the device manager with the flag and the error message.

    Hey Kyle,
It seems like the ExpressCard isn't working properly, based on what you've told me. You say that the ExpressCard shows up properly in Device Manager after installation, but based on that screenshot it looks like it isn't showing up correctly. Is there an NI-MXI entry in device manager after you install? Take a look at this : Developer Zone : What Laptops Have Been Tested with NI's ExpressCard-MXI for PXI and PXI Express?
In looking at this article, I don't see either of the two laptops you mentioned as ones we've tested or have had customer's test. That being said, there might be an issue with the S5934 and not with the S5895. I looked into it a bit more, and the two laptops have completely different chipsets, so it's reasonable to say that one laptop might work and one might not. There are a couple things you'll want to do to try and fix this:
First, make sure you have the most up-to-date BIOS for the S5934. If you still encounter errors, you might want to sign up for the beta program of the NI MXI Express Bios Compatibility Software, which might be able to solve any BIOS incompatibility problems. You can sign up at www.ni.com/beta for that software.

  • Elements Organizer will not install correctly

I recently installed the latest AAM per Adobe's suggestion to solve nother problem of "installer failed to initialize".  Now I can run the Elements setup.exe withough the failure.  However, when I try to install Elements (either Photoshop or Premiere), all that installs is the editor part.  The organizer does not install correctly.  In other words, when I open the program and click on organizer, nothing happens.  How do I solve this issue?  Rather than spend a bunch of time on this, can I manage my video files through Lightroom's catalog?
I'd prefer to get the Elements program running properly as my first option.
    Thanks,
    Brian

Brianbhood I would also ask that you please limit yourself to one discussion.  From your previous posts it is no longer clear what version of Elements you are referring too.  In addition there is another thread where you mentioned you were facing difficulties with Photoshop CS6 and Premiere CS6.
In regards to troubleshooting Elements installation issues please see Troubleshoot installation | Photoshop Elements, Premiere Elements | Windows - http://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop-elements/kb/troubleshoot-installation-photoshop-elements- premiere.html.

A complete uninstall/reinstall of iTunes and related software components is worth a try (7s can indicate trouble with other software components like Apple Application Support). See the following documents for instructions:

  • Windows 7 will not install on new Mac Mini

Everything on the installation works flawlessly... from partitioning, to formatting NTFS, to choosing (x32 or x64) version *I've tried both*.... I get the options to choose date and time prefs, passwords, etc..... then on the final reboot to fire up Windows... it hangs with a blinking cursor in the left upper.... never finishes booting.
This is on the new Mac Mini with 2.66GHz Core 2 Duo, 4GB RAM, 500GB HD, NVidia 320M GPU.
I have been able to get XP to install correctly, but I'd prefer running Windows 7 for the ability to read the extra RAM.

  • ITunes 10.5 will not install correctly

So iTunes decides not to install correctly now that 10.5 comes out.  I'm unable to update my iPhone 4 to iOS5 and it's seriously ******* me off.  I've tried nearly everything and nothing has come close.  Right now the errors that I am getting are "Apple Application Support was not found.  Apple Application Support is required to run iTunes.  Please uninstall iTunes, then install iTunes again.  Error 2 (Windows error 2)".  I've uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes about 50 times and that's not a joke, and I've also restarted my computer about the same amount of times.  I've been searching the internet since the update came out and have tried every possibility and suggestion that people have said from people who have had the same trouble in the past.  I don't know what to do.

My apologies everyone for the spelling errors in my previous post as I have a horrible habit of not doing spell check . So heres a better and hopefully less spelling mistaken riddled version hahaha...Hello All, Well I too was having a **** of a time upgrading my Itunes to 10.5 version on my Dell XPS Windows 7 64 bit laptop so that I could update my Iphone 3 GS. Ihave tried so many things (except for the kitchen sink) in the past 8 days my head is still spinning hahaha since IOS 5 was released to no avail...that is until today. So all you Windows 7 64 bit laptop users, sit up and listen carefully ( as my desktop had no issues updating to Itunes 10.5 forsome reason?, I willl try to figure that one out later) So what I did today was I downloaded the new Itunes 10.5 Windows 64 bit version (68MB I believe) and saved it to my HD. I then proceeded to CNET and downloaded a nifty and very excellent little program called Revo Uninstaller 1.93 (free version). So here's the steps to follow as to what I did and it worked flawlessly without even doing a restart of my system, As follows now OK: 1:) Download Revo Unistaller 1.93, 2:) Run the Revo exe file and then open it. It will then open a window and populate it with all the programs installed on your Windows 7 device. 3:) Look for the program icon called Apple Software Update and click on it, it will then highlight. 4:) Then at the top of the window of the Revo Unstaller program you will see an icon called uninstall with an X on it, click on that it will do a deep registry uninstall of ALL the Apple Update Software program with a 4 step instruction, follow those instructions. 5:) Then after the program runs another window will show a bunch of programs with some registry trees which are bolded. Check mark those bolded ones and select the delete button in the Revo Uninstaller window (lower right hand corner). After you are finished close the Revo Uninstaller program. 6:) Now go find your Itunes 10.5 exe file that you saved on your HD and run it, then presto...you should have Itunes10.5 loaded onto your Windows 7 device. Now plug in your Iphone (3 GS or later only) and or Ipad and it will automatically sync say that there is an update for your device. Follow the usual steps from there. It worked for me so let me know if this works for all you other WIndows 7 64 bit laptop users that were having these same issue as Dirky3301 and I were. As for me, I am now happier than a pigin s**t. Thanks everyone for reading this as I hope this wasn't to boring or to indepth? Off to play some RAGE now on my laptop hahahaha.

  • Itunes will not install correctly

My itunes nwill not open on my pc. It says window error 7error 127. When i try to reinstall. It doesnt work.

    Hey there veryorange1,
It sounds like you are unable to re install iTunes but it will not successfully install. I would recommend the troublehsooting steps in the following article to help get iTunes back onto your computer.
iTunes 11.1.4 for Windows: Unable to install or open
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS5376
    Check for .dll files
Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes and C:\Program Files\iTunes and look for .dll files.
If you find QTMovie.DLL, or any other .dll files, move them to the desktop.
    Reboot your computer.
Note: Depending on your operating system, you may only have one of the listed paths.
    Uninstall and reinstall iTunes
Uninstall iTunes and all of its related components.
Reboot your computer. If you can't uninstall a piece of Apple software, try using the Microsoft Program Install and Uninstall Utility.
    Re-download and reinstall iTunes 11.1.4.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    All the very best,
    Sterling
