JRE and ODBC Support on Windows7 client enterprise

Dear Friends
Any idea wheteher JRE 1.6.1.34 and ODBC is supported using Windows7 Client enterprise.
Any issue we might face.I know there are some concerns on the ODBC config.

I recently setup some virtual machines to operate with Dell Wyse E02 network clients. I purchased touch screen monitors to go with the zero clients, thinking that the E02's USB input would recognize the monitor as a keyboard and mouse. Upon testing the scenario,
I found that the touch screen capabilities do not work.
Is there anyway to configure WMS so that touch screens may be used over virtual desktops & network clients?

Does TT support OCI API except JDBC and ODBC? or Do we have any plan to support OCI in the future

Oracle policy does not permit us to give any commitment to when or if any specific functionality will be delivered. My understanding is that we plan to deliver this in the next major release of TimesTen (which may or may not be called 8.0) that is released after Oracle 11g (since a lot of the changes needed to enable OCI support for TimesTen are in the 11g client). We currently hope that this release will be available sometime in CY2008.
You should not rely on any of the above information as it is, as always, subject to change without notice.

How to share and Access DB (.accdb) with global tables that link to SQL Server tables without having to define ODBC connections on each client PC?

I have an Access DB with quite a few Linked Tables that point to a SQL Server backend db. Currently I am using an ODBC connection defined on my pc, but I want other users to be able to download the .accdb file from a share and run. Will I have
to define this odbc connection on each client's pc? Is there a better way to do this without having to have each client manually set this up on their PC?

I think you can automate that process. In each application I use a one-record-table in the FE with a field Connected. Connected is default False.
Starting a database in the development mode ignores this flag. Starting a database in production mode starts, if Not Connected, a procedure to RefreshLink the tables to the BE, and makes Connected = TRUE, so a next startup does not
result in a new RefreshLink.
Instead of a Boolean you could also use a string containing the path, or whatever you want.

I want to deploy J2se application having tomcat webserver and mysql database.This application is to be installed on client's machine from CD as a single-click application.How can we setup JRE and webserver using JavaWebStart?
Is it possible to install JRE using WebStart?This is most urgent requirement for us.Any who worked on it?Pease help!!!!

You need a JRE installed to run Java WebStart (because Java WebStart is a Java program itself). However, this does not need to be the same JRE that your application uses, because you can specify the JRE to use in your JNLP file and Java WebStart will automatically (most of the time) download and install the correct JRE.
As to the original question of installing a webserver and database on the client: you will have to distribute both as (or in) one or more jar file (which are likely to be quite large), unpack the jar file(s) on the local machine and then run an installation script, using Runtime.exec(). This requires the user to grant "all-permissions" to your WebStart app, as well a fool-proof installation script for the webserver and database.
Webstart may not be the ideal solution for your situation. If the users are always connected to the network, why the local webserver and database (can't they just use one connected to the net)? If the users aren't connected to a network, why Webstart?

However, I am logged in to both with the same user id.
Then, how to get to my subcriptions I posted in each forum?
Although I log in to the 'HP Enterprise Business Community ' and Consumer Support Forums' with same user name, when clicking on my user name while logged in to 'Consumer Support Forums'. , then I only noticed my posts posted at this forum. However, thos posted in HP Enterprise Business Community, I didn't find them. To see them, then I must click on my usename while logged in to HP Enterprise Business Community.
Could you please confirm this for me?

The Enterprise and Consumer forums are separate communities. Even if you use the same username, you need to go to them separately to view your subscribed threads.

Supporting both Oracle clients 10 and 11

Hello,
We have to deploy an application to different client computers - each could have Oracle client 10 or 11.
We don't want to ask users to change to another Oracle client, but we can ask them to install ODP support for their client.
My question is: is ti possible our application to be compatible with both Oracle clients (10 and 11)? How to achieve that?
Or it should detect client version and somehow use different ODP?

The first thing to do is to go to the organizer preferences>media analysis and be sure the auto analyzer is turned off.

Problems installing instant client and ODBC

I am trying to install the instant client and ODBC drivers on an XP machine so I can connect to an OracleXE database via ODBC for an application to use.
I have unzipped the instant client and ODBC drivers to c:\Oracle and added an entry to the PATH statement.
When I attempt to add an ODBC connection I get the error "The Oracle client and network components were not found. The components are supplied by Oracle Corporation and are part of the Oracle version 7.3 or greater client software installation. You will be unable to use this driver until these components have been installed"
Am I missing something in the configuration?
All help appreciated.

Actually, I couldn't find any information about rows limits for TimesTen tables and I've never faced with this problem.

Can any one help me with the information, If the Oracle 9i ODBC drivers supported on Windows 7 Enterprise 32 bit, Access 2007 as the front end and Oracle 9i database as the backend.
If the 9i drivers are not supported on Windows 7 Enterprise 32 bit which version is the supported version.

There is no driver for windows 7 (32-bit) to connect Oracle 9i (9.1) for .Net.
.NET libraries for Oracle and OLE DB providers for Oracle both are available for higher version

Is HS Generic Connectivity(db2/400 odbc) supports Distributed Transaction?
I am getting an error as follows
"ORA-02047 cannot join the distributed transaction in progress" when i am trying a transaction, which is inserting in to db2/400 and updating in Oracle.
if it does not support this, what is the best way
to do such things using generic connectivity.
(eg. by committing each sql statement ?)
my db is oracle 9i 9.2.0.4.0
remote db is db2/400 connected with client access ODBC.

Hi,
one of the restrictions of generic connectivity is, that distributed transactions are not allowed.
See manual: 7-6 Oracle9 i Heterogeneous Connectivity Administrator's Guide
- Generic Connectivity agents cannot participate in distributed transactions; they
support single-site transactions only
So you can only commit after each statement or you have to use the GATEWAY

Got a server with RH 7.1 and a postgress database that I plannet to use
with some LiveWire/SSJS applications over a ODBC connections..
I got the Enterprise server 4.1 SP8 installed but I can't get it to connect
via ODBC.
I just get: [DBNOTFOUND] No access library for 'libnsrwodb.so' from
dbadmin. Isn't ODBC supported by Enterprise for Linux ?

regarding Beekeeper: this application is still restricted to FF 3.5, and ER 12312605 (CERTIFICATION OF BEEKEEPER WITH FIREFOX 3.6) is in danger of never being implemented.
As it is not feasible to run FF 3.5 from a security point of view, please second current FF certification through MOS, please.
It is a hard time for beekeepers, these days ...
