JRE illegal option -green (8.1.5)

Friends:
I downloaded JRE1.1.6 v5 from blackdown for redhat 6.0
I finished all inital set ups.
when I do .runinstaller, it initializes JRE and flags an error
illegal option -green
I am installing server 8.1.5
Thanks in advance

Now i don't remember well but there are two type of JRE: native
and green.
Oracle8i require only one of them. Don't remember now which one.
I remember that the patch oracle released solved some of this
problems for some scripts.
But there is even an "hard" solution. There must be a directory
named "native_threads" under your JRE tree. Make a simbolic link
named "green_threads" to "native_threads" directory :)
Or, better solution instead of using the CD directly, to copy
all the CD in a directory inside the HD and edit the wrong scritp
removing the invalid option "-green" and putting "-native".

I had some locked files. Couldn't delete them. Used sudo command in terminal to no avail. Used the 'unlock' file instructions from support page. Went into single-user mode, followed instructions. • Uttsc 'Illegal Option S' Oracle VDI 3.1

    UPDATE: Solved.
Issue was with missing patches - We had removed the patch installation for SRSS and SRWC as part of the install process for VDA 3.2 as these produced errors when installing on Solaris 10 x86. Applied the patches and everything works as intended.
    Hi Everyone,
Not sure if anyone else has come across this, but, I'm unable to establish RDP sessions to either Windows Terminal Server or XP Desktop using Oracle VDI 3.1 (Downloaded yesterday, all patches applied)
I'm seeing this logged for each uttsc session that attempts to start but I'm not sure what's passing the spurious - S option mentioned. Any hints would be appreciated!

  • Ora-02065:Illegal option for alter system.

    Hi Dba's,
I want to setup my database oracle 9i to use "FlashBack".
My database is running in archivelog mode.
First I've shutdown the DB and start it in mount mode.
    Then I tried:
    SQL> alter system set DB_FLASHBACK_RETENTION_TARGET=1800;
But it doesn't work, I always got the same error:
    ora-02065:illegal option for alter system.
I tried to connect as SYS,SYSTEM, everyone, the same error. The users must have FlashBack Privilege and Execute
    DBMS_FlashBack privileges. They're OK.
I don't know how to solve this problem?!
If someone could help me. Tks a lot.

  • ORA-02065: illegal option for ALTER SYSTEM with "_mutex_wait_scheme"

    Hello,
I have the Oracle version 11.2.0.2.0 in Windows. I'm trying to set starting parameter "_mutex_wait_scheme".
I am trying with the following command:
    ALTER SYSTEM SET "_mutex_wait_scheme" = 1 SCOPE = SPFILE;
But I have the following error:
    ERROR at line 1:
ORA-02065: illegal option for ALTER SYSTEM
Could tell me what is the command that I use to change that parameter?
    Best regards!

    Hello,
The syntax you used is correct,
    alter system set "_MUTEX_WAIT_SCHEME" = 1 scope = spfile sid='*';
but it seems that there is a problem with this parameter in version 12.2.0.2
Check if you have installed patch 12431716
    %ORACLE_HOME%\Opatch\opatch lsinventory -all | find "12431716"
If it is not installed you can install the latest bundle patch (Windows Patch Bundle 27 - 11/2013) that should contain that fix.
    Regards
1588876 - Oracle Enhancement to add different "Mutex" wait schemes
This fix is included in 11.2.0.2.2 PSU but there is a problem with the parameters in that release. If using 11.2.0.2.2 PSU then it is advisable to get the patch for bug 12431716 to allow this fix to be controlled by the _mutex_* parameters as documented above.

  • Illegal option: j when running a jar

I am getting this error -
    Illegal option: j
when I try to execute my jar like this -
    jar -jar myJar.jar
    My java version is -
    java version "1.6.0_03"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_03-b05)
Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 1.6.0_03-b05, mixed mode, sharing)

    I think you meant:
    java -jar myJar.jar

  • Ls: illegal option

I just updated my system and found ls command did not work. It returns the error message "ls: illegal option -- -" under all directories. How to fix it?

OK cool, thanks I found the /etc/bashrc but no mention of any colour presets etc.
I then checked ~/.profile and found this:
    [ "$TERM" = "xterm" ] && TERM="xterm-256color"
    alias ls='ls --color'
So I made it like this:
    alias ls='ls --auto'
Saved and restarted Terminal, but it still gives this message:
    jb:~ tom$ ls
    ls: illegal option -- -
    usage: ls [-ABCFGHLOPRSTUWabcdefghiklmnopqrstuwx1] [file ...]
BUT THEN I FIXED IT: by just deleting the ~/.profile file altogether!
So it appears this line in this file is definitely causing the issue. It would be nice to know if deleting the file is bad but for now I'm stoked to be able to type is "ls" once again!
    Thanks!!

  • Illegal option: C

    Hi
I have been trying to create a JAR file for a application I have been creating. Using the command line:
    cmf mainClass.txt example.jar *.class
everything is created fine. However I double click on the new JAR file and nothing happens. the Javaw.exe file is fired up and running in my systems task list. But the GUI doesnt load.
If I change the command line to:
    cfm mainClass.txt example.jar *.class
    then I get the error:
    Illegal operation: C
    Usage: jar <ctxu>[vfm0Mi] [jar-file] [manifest-file] [-C dir] files...
If any file is a directory then it is processed recursively.
The manifest file name and the archive file name needs to be specificed in teh same order the M and F flags are specifed
    any suggestions?
    thanks

    Hi
thanks for the help so far. If I run the JAR from command line everything works without fault -- nothing but confirmation of actionlisteners is sent to System.out which is correct. But if I double click on the .jar file, then nothing happens, no GUI, no console, but if I look in memory I can see the javaw is resident in memory, which runs the java app.
When creating a manifest file, what should be in it?
how do I check what is in the manifest file?
when I do excatly the same for a vew noddy program, everything works without a hitch. I have changed the name of the main file incase it was causing problems, but this has had no effect.
    any suggestions?

  • -R illegal option, server fails to boot up

    Hello Everyone,
    "/app/ond34/sit/bin/YM3323.tuxsv" SRVGRP=YM3323 SRVID=1

    ENVFILE="/app/ond34/sit/env/YM3323.env"
This statement gives an error in Tuxedo Release 10 while booting up.
But the below one does not.
    "/app/ond34/sit/bin/YM3321.tuxsv" SRVGRP=YM3321 SRVID=1

    CLOPT="-A -o /var/app/logs/ond34/sit/LYM3321/stdout -e /var/app/logs/ond34/sit/LYM3321/stderr -r -- -d vodp1 -v -s QSPACE"
    ENVFILE="/app/ond34/sit/env/YM3321.env"
I know ablout the options -A,-o,-e,-r
What are these options -d,-v,-s and -R??
Can anyone pls explain this ?
    FYI,
Both servers boots up properly in Tuxedo 8.
We are currently facing the problem while moving them to Tuxedo 10.
    Regards,
    Deb

The CLOPT parameters after the "--" are user defined arguments. See http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E13161_01/tuxedo/docs10gr3/rf5/rf5.html#wp1003290
Also the server "/app/ond34/sit/bin/YM3323.tuxsv" looks like a user defined server. This looks like a custom TMQFORWARD server (http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E13161_01/tuxedo/docs10gr3/rf5/rf5.html#wp1026459) and the meaning of the CLOPT parameters "-- -d vodp1 -v -s QSPACE -R" would be in the source code for these servers.

  • Applet Alert options?

Hi all:  In Adobe Acrobat, I could create a button with an app. alert that would give them some sort of information or instruction.  Is this possible in Adobe LiveCycle Designer?  How would one create an button with an app. alert message to instruct users how to use a specific item on the form?
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

    Try the Public JRE.
Private vs. public JRE - Installing the JDK installs a private Java SE Runtime Environment (JRE) and optionally a public copy. The private JRE is required to run the tools included with the JDK. It has no registry settings and is contained entirely in a jre directory (typically at C:\Program Files\jdk1.6.0\jre) whose location is known only to the JDK. On the other hand, the public JRE can be used by other Java applications, is contained outside the JDK (typically at C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.6.0), is registered with the Windows registry (at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\JavaSoft), can be removed using Add/Remove Programs, might or might not be registered with browsers, and might or might not have java.exe copied to the Windows system directory (making it the default system Java platform or not).

  • Question about Jre folder

    Hi,
After installing Java, I have a JRE folder under jdk1.5.0_03 directory,
and another folder jre1.5.0_03 under java directory.
Can someone please tell me the different between these two folders? Which one is the run-time jre? Thanks in advance.

The differences are explained in the Installation Instructions for the product that you installed - and didn't read the instructions :)
Here is the explanation (and I recommend you back up and read the instructions, there is other useful information there.)

  • -xopenmp option on Solaris on Intel?????

    Hi,
I installed the latest c compiler on Solaris Intel. I thought
OpenM was available there but it is not. Is there
    something wrong?

    PS. A proof.
    cc: Sun WorkShop 6 update 2 C 5.3 2001/05/15
usage: cc [ options] files. Use 'cc -flags' for details

Erling - Unfortunately the OpenMP options are only available on the Sparc version of the compiler.
You are correct in that Forte 6.0 Update 2 is the first version of the compiler to support OpenMP. However, it is only on Sparc.
