Jre1.7.0 04 c.msi

I am trying to update Jave 7 to Java 9 on another computer and every time I try it says jre1.7.0 04 c.msi is not there. I have tried everything and can not figure it out. Please help me

Hi.
It seems that msiexec needs some uninstall information which is included in the MSI of the version you are trying to uninstall.
What you could try:
You need the MSI of the version you try to uninstall.
Uninstall JAVA from the Windows control panel.
I you are prompted for the MSI file, select the one mentioned above.
HTH.
Cheers.

  • Java Version 6 Update 24 Update Problem. Please help!

I am using Google Chrome, running on Windows 7 Home Premium, and have tried to update my Java to the latest version (V6.24), but no matter how many times I download the file, it does not update!
The file will download, but when trying to run and install the setup, I get the error message:
    Error - Java (TM) Installer
    Download failed from=http://javadl.sun.com/webapps/download/GetFile/1.6.0_24-b71/windows-i586/jre1.6.0_24-c-l.msi, to= C:\Users\XX\AppData\LocalLow\Sun\Java\jre1.6.0_24\jre1.6.0_24-c-l.msi
So then I tried downloading the offline installation of Java, but the same thing happens, or it will load and the installation freezes.
Have tried to completely remove Java with Windows Installer Cleanup Utility and JavaRa, but same problem keeps happening.
I don't understand what is wrong and why it is not updating properly. It's causing me problems like not loading application programs that require Java!
If anyone has any answers please help!
    Thank you.

  • Java Update won't work and runtime error

    I have 2 problems.
    1. First, I am running Windows Vista and Internet Explorer 7. I also use Firefox 2.0.0.11.
I have Java SE Runtime Environment 6, but when I try to download Update 3, this is the message I receive on both IE and Firefox:
*"This installation package could not be opened. Verify that the package exists and that you can access it,*
*Or contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer package."*
    2. Second, this is my problem when I try to play Text Twist on Yahoo Games: On IE, I get a message stating that the Runtime has requested that the program terminate it in an unusual way. Then IE closes.
On Firefox, the game simply never loads.
When I first got my computer with Windows Vista, I was able to play this game. I don't know what's changed to cause this error to happen.
If any one can help me, I will appreciate it very much.
    Thank you,
    Joy

    I guess I posted to the wrong forum. {embarrassed}
I found the solution for my problems in the forum for java errors. It worked. Thank you.
    >
I had this problem with JRE 1_5_0_09 - after beating it to death, I finally got it.
Note that JRE did NOT appear in my add/remove programs list - also it did not appear when I ran the windows install clean-up utility msicuu2.exe.
    However, when I browsed to
    Documents and Settings\User\Local Settings\Application Data\Sun\Java
I found a folder named jre1.5.0_09 containing the MSI file which installed JRE perfectly.
I am not sure if everyone with this problem will have the JRE file there, but I imagine that if it's NOT there, placing it there from another system and then running it might also work.
    good luck.

  • Cannot install Java update or uninstall old version (Java error 1714)

    Hello,
When I try to install a Java upadate it fails. When doing the installation for the new version from java.com it gives the message (translated form Dutch):
+"The function you wish to use is located on a networked location which is not available. Click OK to try again or type in the field below another path to where installation package jre1.6.0_26-c-l.msi is located"+
When I cancel the installation it gives the following message:
+"Error 1714. The older version of Java(TM) 6 update 31 cannot be removed. Contact you technical support group."+
I tried the solution according to Java located at http://www.java.com/nl/download/help/error_1714.xml where it says to delete the java installation first and then install the offline package. The only problem is that I cannot seem to uninstall the current installation in my remove software list. The version there is called"Java(TM) 6 Update 29". When I want to uninstall this it gives the same message when installing the update:
+"The function you wish to use is located on a networked location which is not available. Click OK to try again or type in the field below another path to where installation package jre1.6.0_26-c-l.msi is located"+
I tried to get rid of the entire java installation by using:
    - Scanned for blocking virusses, no virruses found
    - JavaRa did not succeed in deleting current version
    - Tried installing to offline package, no success
    - Running all steps in administrator mode
None of it any succes. None of the Java using websites seem to work anymore and I can't seem to fix this. Anybody know of a solution?

Hey dude, i had this same problem and i think i've found a fix. Go to this link http://support.microsoft.com/mats/Program_Install_and_Uninstall and download the tool. It should run you through some steps. I followed the steps for having trouble uninstalling and then eventually it gives you the option to choose the application you are having problems with from a list.
Just choose the older java version and it will remove it for you. Check the windows program list and the Java entry should be properly uninstalled and you can then install the latest version of Java. Worked for me - hope it does for you :)Huh! Thanks, bookmarked that link. Very useful indeed!

  • Need help deleting Java 6 Update 29

Now before I am told to use search feature or the usual fixes please do not unless there was an exact same issue found and solved and I couldn't find. but please read first. So I have used JavaRa, Revo Uninstaller, Deleted Java Registry from tutorial on the Java site and it i still in the add/remove programs list with no option to uninstall. When I do a Java test on the Java site, it says I do not have Java. However, when I try to install the new version of Java (31) it gives me the same error; stating it cannot find jre1.6.0_18-c-l.msi I also downloaded Update 29 on my other computer and searched for the file in the location, the installer was looking in. It was not there and yet it still uninstalled properly. I have installed Update 18 looking for that file as well. In both updates 18 and 29 while I installed I looked in %temp% and copied the installer changed the name to the file needed, and placed in the correct file path, that didn't work either. I have completely ran out of ideas of how to fix this issue. Is there anything I can do without taking a bat to my pc or wiping it?
    Thanks.

I am having the same problem with update 29 and cannot get through the 800 number. This version has disabled my access to the US patent office system. They have posted a warning. I removed all older versions and tried to install the last version for their system which is update 26. I tried installing 26 but I get the error message that a later version is installed and will not continue. How can I remove the flag so that I can downgrade. You should always offer the ability to downgrade if it doesn't work.

Same error here.  Running Windows 7 64bit and I'm currently unable to install Java.  Below is the log from a offline installation.
You edited your response noting that you were able to get it to work by running it through an admin shell.  Can you please list step-by-step instructions on how you were able to accomplish this.

  • Jre installer suffixes

On my search for the standalone installer of jre 6 update 31 I found these different files:
    jre1.6.0_31-c.msi
    jre1.6.0_31-c-l.msi
    jre1.6.0_31-s.msi
    jre1.6.0_31-s-l.msi
    jre-6u31-windows-i586.exe
    jre-6u31-windows-i586-s.exe
Now I am curious what the suffixes -c, -l, -s stands for.
Untill now I figured out what these indicate, but don't know what the latter two mean:
    -iftw install from the web
    -p performance release
    -k kernel installation

It sounds like the client doesn't know what to do with what you are sending. Are you sure you are setting all of the header information correctly? Try using a telnet client to issue the GET request and see what is coming back.

  • JRE install hangs for 15 minutes

    Mighty all,
We see this behaviour for already quite some time (since JRE 1.6.24 for sure). Silent installation on Win7 x32 hangs for 10-15 minutes and then continues. When digging through the install log I see this:
MSI (s) (AC:E8) [10:55:02:585]: Validating digital signature of file 'C:\Windows\system32\config\systemprofile\AppData\LocalLow\Sun\Java\jre1.6.0_25\Data1.cab'
MSI (s) (AC:E8) [10:55:15:143]: Skipping file hash comparison as no hash was provided for the comparison for file 'C:\Windows\system32\config\systemprofile\AppData\LocalLow\Sun\Java\jre1.6.0_25\Data1.cab'.
Any thoughts what might be causing this?
    Many thanks in advance!

Back to this thread, we continue to see this problem every now and then, and here are more details:
It looks like the .exe wrapper does not detect completion of the MSI installer part (and the log actually reports "MainEngineThread is returning 0" and then "verbose logging stopped").
I have made a full dump of the "idle" installer after msi part is completed and have installation log too - if someone from the java team could look into it, will be greatly appreciated.
Roger, answering your question re. case: unfortunately our support contract with oracle does not cover java support, so my case opening request has not been completed.

    Hello,
Would someone be so kind as to provide a URL to jre1.6.0_21-c.msi on the java.com(or oracle.com) web-site(s)?
Thanks in advance for your time and consideration,

I don't know of any msi file. The only downloads I know exist are in the download archive:
    http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javasebusiness/downloads/java-archive-downloads-javase6-419409.html#jre-6u21-b07-oth-JPR
A quick google seems to indicate that the msi file exists on the filesystem after you install the runtime once.
    http://www.java.com/en/download/help/msi_install.xml

  • (continued) Various attempts to locate jre1.6.0_21-c.msi w/ mangled install

First I attempted to download jre-6u21-windows-i586.exe as instructed, to attempt to install (so that I could un-install). Here is the result:
Windows Installer : Error applying transforms. Verify that the specified transform paths are valid.
Next, I attempted to download jre-6u21-windows-i586-iftw-rv.exe. Here is the result:
Java Setup : This software has already been installed on your computer. Would you like to re-install it? (I pressed the Yes button).
It then attempted an uninstall, and failed.
After re-running to the validation prompt above, I scanned the hard-drive, and found the .msi file I was looking for.
I then proceeded to Start + Control Panel + Add/Remove Programs, to attempt the un-install, and specify the .msi when it was required. This is the result:
Windows Installer : The file 'C:\Documents and Settings\John\Application Data\Sun\Java\jre1.6.0_21\jre1.6.0_21-c.msi' is not a valid installation package for the product Java(TM) 6 Update 21. Try to find the installation package 'jre1.6.0_21-c.msi' in a folder from which you can install Java(T) 6 Update 21.
I've done my part. Perhaps gremlins. Any help you can provide would be appreciated,
    John L.

That doesn't make any sense to install something so that you can uninstall it. Care to explain what you are trying to do?His Windows installation has failed and left the install in a dead state, wherein, he cannot fully remove the crashed install, nor can he continue the current install. If you have had a few of the experiences I've had over he last 30+ years, you may decide it better to complete the install, then uninstall the completed install. Once this is done, theoretically, you have a system that is void of nasty little bits of the previous install--alas, this is not always the case. Usually I have to manually delete the crashed install, then clear the registry with a registry cleaner (or manually), then find the problem that originally caused the install to fail, then fix that problem--and it's usually a registry problem or corrupt index in Windows. Once that has been done, the install will usually go without event. Once the install has completed comes the quandry: do I trust it? I will usually do the uninstall, see it to an uneventful completion, then do the registry cleaner again, reboot, and then do the install all over again.
I've come to this process through trial and error, that crashed install, on Windows, tends to lead nasty little artifacts around to surprise you when you least expect it.

HI for whatever reason and I ha ve no idea what happened but all I know is java doesn't work now. I cna't uninstall from the add/remove programs and aI can't reinstall without that file pretty nice huh I thought so. No one online has that file that I can find and I have no idea where it is and yes I searched on my machine and wow no luck yay. I even searched your site and read countless pages of information. I have learned that each exe comes with it's own msi but then why is it asking for the msi? All of this happened after an update oh yay gotta love those updates.
